Theoretical aspects of personnel certification are considered. The place of personnel certification among other functions of personnel management as the main method of assessment of its development is determined. It is stated that one of the main requirements of the certification program is the objectivity of employee evaluations, which is often opposed to subjectivity, which is often considered evil and leads to irreparable mistakes. The stages of attestation are indicated, namely: develop-ment of principles and methods of verification; registration of control documents and preparation of attestation materials; filling in the inspection form together with the staff; analysis of results; meeting of the attestation commission; analysis of personnel data; development of recommendations for working with staff.
