Opportunities for Implementing a Cross-Disciplinary Approach in Institutions of Professional Pre-Higher and Higher Education in Ukraine

The paper highlights the opportunities for implementing an cross-disciplinary approach in institutions of professional pre-higher and higher education in Ukraine under conditions of decentralization. The paper aims to identify the status and prospects of implementing the cross-disciplinary approach in institutions of professional pre-higher and higher education under conditions of guaranteed academic autonomy. The following theoretical methods are used in research: analysis of scientific literature and legislative acts; synthesis, systematization and generalization of the obtained results; surveys; statistical processing of empirical data. The results. It is found out that the academic autonomy of vocational schools and higher education institutions in Ukraine is declared at the state level through the right to introduce specialties, develop and implement educational programs, independently determine forms of education and forms of organizing educational process, determine the content and curricular, provide publishing activities. The results of the survey among both vocational schools teachers and higher education institutions teachers show that the realization of the right to academic autonomy for different participants of educational process is not equal. They are most implemented for the education institutions administration, then for teachers and only then for students. It is substantiated that implementing the principle of autonomy of pre-higher and higher education institutions under the conditions of increased influence of the global labour market on education and growing qualification gap actualizes the need to introduce the cross-disciplinary approach. A survey aimed at introducing forms of cross-disciplinary education shows their above-average use in vocational schools and higher education institutions, mostly in cross-disciplinary links, combining knowledge, methods from different specialties while studying individual subjects and between disciplines in the curriculum. The direction of development of cross-disciplinary programs is the least realized in practice. Conclusions. Positive developments in terms of efficiency, productivity, quality and affordability are possible only if all the stakeholders unite their efforts as well as the staff of vocational schools and higher education institutions start to work together. The research provides the basis to assert that the strategic directions for developing educational sector in Ukraine aimed at decentralization and autonomy identified at the state level are relevant. The autonomy of educational institutions improves the quality of vocational education through the development and implementation of new specialties and specializations, the integration of educational programs within individual specialties, strengthening cross-disciplinary links at the level of content and teaching methodology.

Free education as the main idea in the preparation of a competitive graduate

The purpose of the article is to analyze the experience of training students in the framework of implementation the idea of free education. The study participants were students of higher educational institutions of the age group from 17 to 24 years. Throughout the study, the subjects were under the supervision of experts who recorded the features of students ' choice and the main aspects of their behavior. The study showed that students are active participants of educational process they highly appreciate the importance of free education and are ready to use its elements in teaching. The idea of implementing free education is a promising direction in the training of highly qualified specialists.

COGNITIVE MODELING OF FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC PROVISION OF QUALITY ACTIVATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract. The article develops and substantiates the need to determine the causal links between concepts that contribute to the quality of higher education. The lack of motivation for radical reform of higher education is still hampered by attempts to use the successful international experience of the process of building a full-fledged system of quality assurance in the provision of educational services. The aim of the article is to develop a model for identifying causal links between the concepts of financial and economic support, which contribute to improving the quality of higher education. A system of concepts of the internal state and macro-environment of financial security has been formed, which has a positive or negative impact on the intensification of higher education. A fuzzy cognitive map of the impact of financial and economic support on improving the quality of higher education has been built. Scales and criteria for providing a qualitative assessment of the impact of the concepts of financial and economic support for the intensification of higher education in accordance with the introduced linguistic sets are calculated on the basis of the trapezoidal number method. The concepts of internal state and macroenvironment for activation of higher education are defined. The negative impact on the level of public spending on education and opportunities for access to ICT, which constrains the prospects for development and realization of the potential of participants in the higher education process, has been proved. The negative impact on the quality of higher education on the migration of students to study abroad has been identified, as access to higher education is almost unlimited due to significant government procurement and relatively low cost of contract education, and the return on higher education is relatively low. According to the simulation results, in order to intensify higher education, it is necessary to focus on the quality of teachers, provide opportunities for development, competence development, obtaining a higher level of qualification, which includes postgraduate and doctoral studies and academic degrees. Currently, an important priority of the European innovation system is the formation of the European Research Area. That is why there is a need to find effective mechanisms to influence the quality of research and innovation, which is represented by the number of publications / patents / CAT, investment and innovation projects, grants. Support for these concepts will provide an opportunity to unleash scientific and innovative potential, have a high social status in society and will improve the quality of educational services provided. Use of interactive methods of collaboration between educational process participants in the conditions of distance learning

The purpose of the article was to study three groups of factors of perception of the introduction of interactive methods of distance education in the educational environment of Higher Education Institutions. The research used general scientific research methods, questionnaire methods, methods for integrated assessment, mathematical methods of data processing: calculation of consolidated characteristics of motivation, sign test. The study revealed a lo w level of student knowledge about distance education technologies and, by contrast, a high level of student interest in mastering interactive distance education methods. The article detects the influence of the educational environment of the HEIs in the formation of the disposition of the students to use interactive technologies of distance education. The article considers properties of interactive methods such as mobility, openness, accessibility and the use of interactive distance learning technologies. The article aims to study the peculiarities of the students' attitude towards the introduction of interactive distance learning technologies in the educational process. Other research perspectives are in the creation of a system for monitoring the preparation of students for the implementation of innovative technologies in relation to the constant development of scientific and technological progress.

Code of Ethics as a Tool of Management in Academic Environment: Case of Armenia

" The paper deals with the role and importance of the code of academic ethics as a tool of education and management in modern educational environment, it also reviews the challenges associated with development and introduction of the code in the academic environment. The outcomes of the study of the procedure of developing and introducing the code of ethics in HEI’s management are presented as the main document underlying the formation of corporate culture in any educational institution. The study was based on the results of surveys on Code of Ethics in Academic Environment conducted among the staff and students of Public Administration Academy of RA, and The Effects of the Current Emergency Situation on the Daily Tasks of the Staff of Armenian Scientific and Educational Organizations. The analysis of the attempts to create a Code of Ethics allows one to conclude that although such codes are needed as regulators of relationships among all participants of educational process, there are no unified approaches or suggestions for their formation. The analysis has revealed that the legislation on education in Armenia is lacking provisions on code of ethics or ethic rules: the imperfection of mechanisms of applying these provisions is obvious. Legal provisions related to regulation of ethical dilemmas as well as building efficient framework for their supervision need to be developed. It is worth noting that the Draft Law on Higher Education and Science has added a number of provisions to be addressed in this article."

Розвиток організаційної культури закладу вищої освіти у контексті забезпечення його конкурентоспроможності

Abstract. Introduction. Higher education institutions are a multicomponent centers of professional development of future specialist and centers of formation of human and social capital of country. An important condition for ensuring the competitive functioning of education institution, its ability to increase spiritual and intellectual potential of country is the development of organizational culture of institution. Organizational culture is a collective characteristic of the sociopsychological environment of educational institution, formation and development of which is determined by adaptability to external changes. Effective organizational culture contributes to the achievement of intellectual and cultural social goals by clearly defining the mission, goals and development strategy of higher education institution. Purpose. The purpose of the article is investigation the formation and development of powerful organizational culture of higher education institutions and presentation of its role in achieving competitive advantages of organizations at educational services market. Results. The essence of organizational culture of higher education institution is investigated. The views of scholars on interpretation of the terms «organizational culture» and «corporate culture» are presented and generalized. There is noted that organizational culture is a basis for formation of corporate culture of organization. Factors influencing the formation and development of organizational culture of higher education institution are identified and characterized, such as: professional activity of management, personal and professional development of teachers and students, macroeconomic environment, structural and organizational characteristics of institution. The influence of organizational culture on achievement of higher educational institutions' competitive advantages due to improvement of effective indicators of educational and scientific activity is presented. Modern tendencies in educational services market caused by migratory moods of youth, aging of the population are presented. The main measures to improve the organizational culture of higher education institutions at different levels (administrative, teaching, student and service) are described, which will increase the competitive position of organization. Conclusions. Organizational culture is very important for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of educational, scientific and cultural processes of higher education institutions, uniting the values, goals and norms of behavior and communication between all participants in educational process, regardless of positions and social roles. The full development of organizational culture of higher education institutions requires the coordination of values, skills and abilities of all representatives of organization to achieve a synergistic effect.

University Philosophy Course: Reboot is Required

The philosophical training of tertiary-level students is designed to perform a number of functions assigned to it by society and the state. However, in recent years, it is no longer in demand by the majority of the educational process participants, since the university philosophy does not respond well to modern challenges from education, primarily to the need of digitalization and competence approach implementation. To preserve the disciplinary status of philosophy, the lecturers have to modernize the content, methods and forms of implementation of the discipline in order to increase its attractiveness in students’ minds, as well as the demand by society and the state. One of the possible ways to update the training course of philosophy is seen in its reorientation towards the development of students’ universal competencies prescribed in the state educational standards. In this case, the philosophical content becomes a tool to achieve this goal, and the philosophical heritage is used as a theoretical basis for mastering the technologies of mental action. The article presents the experience of Kazan University, where the philosophy course has recently become a tool for “system and critical thinking” competence training. Although a digital format of philosophical training has a number of cognitive advantages, nevertheless it is fraught with the risk that the philosophical value potential will not be fully realized. This risk can be minimized through a mixed format of teaching philosophy. Тo increase the demand for philosophy in higher education, the author offers a number of ways to enhance the role and importance of philosophy in students’ minds.

ГНУЧКІ УМІННЯ (SOFT SKILLS) У КУРСІ ВИВЧЕННЯ МЕТОДИКИ НАВЧАННЯ УКРАЇНСЬКОЇ МОВИ: ЗМІСТ, ФОРМУВАННЯ, ДЕТЕРМІНАЦІЯ

The article substantiates the importance of soft skills. Through the analysis and synthesis of scientific and methodological sources, it has been found that soft skills are flexible, sometimes unprofessional, acmecompetences (acme - peak, peak, higher degree of something, prosperity) for the successful performance of professional duties. It is proved that the new communicative environment enables productive organization of participants of educational process, encourages creativity by means of developing potential of methodical and technical receptions, operations in the form of various documents (working materials) directed on reception of information, with a powerful didactic resource for studying professional disciplines. Analysis of the professional standard «Primary school teacher of general secondary education», which is based on the job functions of the teacher, and provides a revision of attitudes to professional qualities and changing stereotypes of his professional development allowed to identify a number of flexible skills to be formed in accordance with the job functions . It was found that these include leadership skills and ability to work in a team, the ability to teach and negotiate, the ability to set and solve tasks, time management, focus, effective communication skills, presentation, stress, creativity, creative approach to solving problems and analytical skills, etc. Emphasis is placed on the communicative aspect of flexible skills. An employee with strong interpersonal skills is able to clearly articulate their needs, expectations of the team and the environment, listen carefully to how they are formulated by others. He should communicate with the participants of the educational process in such a way that everyone has the feeling that he was heard and understood, and even the refusal was made professionally, leaving no residue of indifference and hostility. Exercises and tasks for the formation of soft skills during the study of methods of teaching the Ukrainian language are offered. The contents of the thematic portfolio as a means to present the level of mastery of such skills is highlighted. Motivating Signs of the Student Concept

The article analyzes the dictionary entries “student” presented in the etymological and historical-etymological dictionaries of the Russian language. The purpose of the article is to determine and describe the motivating signs of the student concept according to the methodology of conceptual analysis of the mental formation structure. The article uses methods: conceptual analysis, descriptive and interpretative. The relevance of the stated topic lies in the correlation of the primary signs of the student concept with its conceptual signs. The scientific novelty of the work consists in the first experience of describing the motivating signs of the student concept. Fifteen dictionaries and discourse material of the Russian National Corpus were analyzed. The analysis of the concept revealed 11 motivating signs. The number of motivating signs indicates the great importance of the considering mental formation: the education sector is important for Russian linguoculture. The identified signs are combined into six blocks: 1. Educational process participants (“learner”, “higher school student”, “student”, “skudent”). 2. Affiliation (“student-led”, “student community”). 3. Effort (“work hard”/”endeavor”, “study diligently”, “study thoroughly”). 4. Ambition (“be anxious for success”). 5. Place of studying (“studio”). 6. The process of studying (“study/practice/train”). In the course of the student concept development there was practically no narrowing of the motivating signs, which retained their relevance and became the conceptual signs. There are 10 out 11 motivating signs have been preserved in the modern linguistic picture of the world.

Architectonics of Scientific Personnel Training in the Conditions of Postgraduate Study (on the Example of the First Year of Training)

The questions related to postgraduate education as an institution for training scientific personnel, which seeks to create and put into practice its own concept of training graduate students and applicants on the basis of universities are observed in the article. The author considers the architectonics of postgraduate training from the perspective of the quality of educational programs and pedagogical technologies; creating conditions for continuing education through a combination of different forms and methods of education based on the principle of continuity and preservation of the pedagogical potential of all scientific disciplines in teaching of personnel in postgraduate school. Having studied the reasons for low publication activity of postgraduates / applicants in the Transbaikal State University and on the basis of the existing FSES of Higher Education in postgraduate education the author has attempted to create an architectonics of postgraduate training continuity (1st level). On the example of the “Foreign Language” discipline the practical implementation of first-year postgraduates training within the framework of the succession architectonics is shown. The article provides a detailed description of each block of training with an emphasis on the integration of the educational process participants and taught scientific disciplines, analyzes the collected statistical data on the problem in the ZabGU, draws conclusions and forecasts the results. Impact of higher music education on coping with stress during COVID-19

The article is dedicated to the study if students with special musical education have any benefits of stress coping over students of other specialties during the pandemic. The main purpose is to study the attitude of student musicians to overcome stressful situations caused by COVID-19 in the learning process. Research objectives include: current state of music education in the context of forced quarantine distance learning; the impact of forced quarantine distance learning on stress among students of music and non-music specialties; the analysis of stress coping skills and the impact of music education on them; recommendations for improving the psychological and pedagogical interaction of the participants in the educational process. The study involved 160 respondents, 80 of them are music students and 80 students of other specialties that do not belong to the study of musical art. To collect information and data, the study participants were asked to fill out a Google form. The results of the study show that online learning is very time-consuming and that losing a satisfactory work-life balance is stressful. But students became more organized in managing their activities. Internet platforms have proven useful for sharing materials, communicating, sharing information and content, and keeping track of all work done. Thus, there is a tendency towards easier tolerance of stress by musicians, although our study showed that with a slight margin of 80.6%, people without musical education consider themselves happier by 82%. This is also confirmed by the fact that non-musicians are more optimistic about their future according to the results obtained on the Beck's Hopelessness Scale, where 2 units are for musicians and 1 for non-musicians. These results indicate that hopelessness has not been identified and students are optimistic about their future. In the context of stress coping recommendations for students are provided. In conclusion, based on the information gained and own experience there is a variety of ways to obtain benefits from both online and offline learning forms for both musicians and non-musicians.

Академічна мобільність у Словаччині: вхідні та вихідні потоки міграції студентів

In the article modern situation of academic mobility of students in the Slovak Republic under the conditions of educational internationalization is analyzed. The main conditions and tools of implementing academic mobility in Slovakia are clarified. Academic mobility for all participants of educational process under modern conditions is an important part of higher education internalization. It is defined that implementation of development strategy of international mobility is one of the priority tasks for the national policy in the Slovak Republic. Academic mobility finds systematic support at the Slovak state level. Appropriate conditions have been created for the implementation of academic mobility at the institutional, national and European levels. Along with the benefits, internationalization and mobility poce new challenges for Slovak society. This article looks at three aspects of student mobility flows: incoming mobility, outgoing mobility and mobility balance. There is a problem of imbalance between incoming and outgoing forms of mobility in Slovakia. It is empirically established that Slovakia belongs to the countries with strong flows of initial degree mobility. In the context of Slovakia's European integration, there has been an increase in the number of students participating in academic mobility programs. Factors that stimulate the initial academic mobility of Slovak students are the attractive image of foreign universities, the quality of education and educational services, better employment opportunities, various scholarship programs, lower tuition costs, social support for students and others. Factors such as proximity, language, historical ties, geographical distance, bilateral relationships and political framework conditions are key determinants in selecting a country in which to study. Despite the obvious benefits of international mobility, researchers are increasingly focusing on the problem of "brain drain" and the loss of intellectual potential. Slovakia's problem is that students do not return to their home country after completing their studies abroad. Academic mobility has become one of the channels of migration in Slovakia. In the long term, the potential of the educated and highly qualified population is weakening. This can negatively affect the development of society in economic, cultural, scientific and social aspects. Based on the analysis of the current state of mobility in Slovakia, it is concluded that the country's higher education system is characterized by a significant degree of internationalization.

Анализ динамики тревожных и депрессивных состояний участников образовательного процесса в странах с разными ограничительными мерами в период пандемии COVID-19

Пандемия COVID-19, начавшая в феврале 2020 года, продолжается до сих пор. Изменения в эмоциональной сфере произошедшие в начале пандемии эволюционировали в зависимости от мер, принятых правительствами разных стран. Целью данного исследования было сравнить тревожность и депрессивность у турецких и российских студентов в период пандемии. Исследование проводилось в два этапа: май 2020 года (ограничительные меры введены около 2-х месяцев) и декабрь 2020 года (ограничительные меры введены 9 месяцев). Выбор стран был обусловлен разным государственным отношением к эпидемиологической обстановке. В качестве методики исследования была выбрана госпитальная шкала тревоги и депрессии HADS (The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale), разработанная для первичного выявления депрессии и тревоги. Выбор методики был связан с тем, что она переведена на национальные языки России и Турции и соответствует всем психометрическим требованиям. В России, где меры, принятые правительством, были менее жесткими, чем в Турции, уровни депрессии и тревоги снизились, в отличии от Турции, где данные уровни, наоборот, повысились. The COVID-19 pandemic, which began in February 2020, continues to this day. The changes in the emotional sphere that occurred at the beginning of the pandemic have been evolving depending on the measures taken by the governments of different countries. The aim of this study was to compare the levels of anxiety and depression in Turkish and Russian students during the pandemic. The study was conducted in two stages: May 2020 (restrictive measures had been introduced for about 2 months) and December 2020 (restrictive measures had been introduced for 9 months). The choice of countries was determined by different state attitudes to the epidemiological situation. The HADS (The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale), developed for the primary detection of depression and anxiety, was chosen as a research methodology. The choice of the technique was because it has been translated into the national languages of Russia and Turkey and meets all psychometric requirements. In Russia, where the measures taken by the government were less stringent than in Turkey, the levels of depression and anxiety decreased, in contrast to Turkey, where these levels, on the contrary, increased.

Enhance the Interaction of Students with Learning Difficulties by Implementing a Social Coexistence Programme in Greek Primary Schools

Increasing social and emotional development of primary school students with learning difficulties promotes equal participation in educational processes at all levels of their education. Social coexistence programmes at all school levels empower all students both emotionally and socially by promoting solidarity and creatively enhancing the learning environment. The aim of this research was for the students with learning difficulties and the teachers to evaluate a social coexistence programme implemented in a Greek Primary School. The program involved 22 students in a 4th-grade class, 4 of whom had been diagnosed with learning difficulties, and 4 members who are scientific and teaching staff of the school. In order to evaluate the actions of the programme, the multimethodological approach was applied by using a sociometric tool and a logbook, and by conducting semi–structured interviews. The research results showed that the social interaction of students with learning disabilities with their peers increased significantly after the completion of our intervention. The development of a collaborative culture in school was cited as a decisive factor for the effective implementation of social coexistence programmes by the participating adults. The results are discussed in the context of implementing similar interventions in more classes by having more students and members of the teaching staff participating as well.

Prevailing emotional components in adolescent girls with eating disorders

The article presents the results of a study on the predominant emotional components in adolescent girls with eating disorders, which manifested itself in the form of anorexia nervosa. In connection with the growing popularization of stereotypical body parameters and the relevance of healthy eating in modern life among adolescent girls, there is an increase in the trend towards various eating disorders. The main predominant groups subject to such deviations are precisely adolescent girls and adolescent girls. Identifying the initial emotional manifestations caused by anorexia nervosa is essential for planning preventive school programs. The research used such methods as observation, oral questioning (conversation) and "Cognitive-emotive test" Yu.M. Orlova, N.D. Tvorogova. The analysis of the data obtained made it possible to identify the predominant components of emotional disorders, namely the mechanisms of psychological defense, which are probably worth paying attention to psychologists for more competent work. The mechanisms of psychological defense turned out to be: aggression against oneself and protection from shame. The neglect of such a serious problem by school psychological services can only exacerbate the growth of these disorders. An approximate plan of preventive measures was developed, consisting of the main types of necessary work, namely: diagnostics, education, prevention, group sessions and individual assistance aimed at this category of adolescent girls and all participants in the general educational process. When developing this plan, recommendations were given for its implementation. Also, with individual work, it is worth paying special attention to the correction of emotional disorders.

Theoretical fundamentals of quest excursions as an innovative method of providing excursion services

The aim of this article is to provide theoretical fundamentals of quest excursions as a means of domestic tourism development.
 Methodology. The author has used systemic and comparative approaches as well as a problem and analytical analysis to examine the principles, focus areas and the research trends at the market of excursion services, in particular — quest excursions.
 Results. The excursion services are an integral part of Ukrainian tourism industry, while the emergence of innovative methods only contributes to the development of the state economy. Quest excursions play an important role in terms of popularization domestic tourism, while demonstrating significant development potential. However, today there are some sporadic attempts to implement this area of excursion services, which can lead to errors in the organization and the formation of a negative attitude to quest excursions among tourists. This article offers theoretical principles that are designed to structure the process of organizing and implementing quest excursions. In particular, it offers a definition of this concept, provides a comparative analysis of traditional excursions and quest excursions and outlines the basic principles of such tours. It is noted that the main functions of the quest excursions include not only educational and informational, but also entertainment and animation functions. A comparative analysis has shown that the organization of quest excursions requires much more preparation, in contrast to traditional excursions. At the same time, the main difference is that during the quest excursions tourists receive information about excursion objects, sights, objects of an excursion route by themselves, in other words they become active participants of educational and entertaining process where the special role is given not only to information, but also to physical activities of the quest excursion. This paper also describes the main features of quest excursions organization which include such aspects: the requirements for the location, the content of quests, variants of routes organizing, requirements for tasks and quests, accompanying materials, advising tour groups in the process of excursion and the importance of analysis and optimization of quest excursions. The results of this study may become the basis for further researches, in particular for the development of guidelines for the organization and implementation of quest excursions.
 Novelty. The author of this paper offers generalized principles of organization and implementation of quest excursions at the Ukrainian market, which can be the basis for further researches.
 The practical significance. The proposed results of the study are important for ensuring a systematic approach to the development of quest excursions in Ukraine. In particular, the theoretical principles suggested in this paper can serve as a basis for further development of guidelines for the organization of quest excursions.

Using financial board games in teaching financial literacy at general secondary education institutions

The article substantiates the ways of using educational games to teach financial literacy at level of secondary school in Ukraine. The methodology of conducting original financial games is described in brief and the influence of the latter on shaping a financially literate next generation is proved. The article presents an overview of the «Ponzi Scheme» board game, which was created to provide children with a clear explanation of Ponzi schemes and risks of monetary losses inherent to such illegal means of moneymaking. It is established that in addition to important educational aspects, the children develop a habit of making informed financial decisions in the course of playing. Research has shown that nowadays fraudsters have become so convincing that it is very difficult to distinguish between them from the real employees of financial institutions. The «Financial Fraudsters» board game enables players to learn specific communicative skills necessary to avoid various types of financial fraud, therefore the authors substantiate the methodology of enacting it. The article considers the peculiarities of playing the «Economy is Alive» board game, which is designed to demonstrate the human impact on the environment and the need for conservation of resources. The game makes it possible to master the comprehension of the relationships between objects and phenomena and creates the basis for environmentally conscious upbringing of children by satisfying their curiosity and involving them in active observation of the environment. Approbation of these games has shown that they organically combine the theory that makes learning exciting and the practice that clarifies the knowledge acquired by the educational process participants. In view of the research results, it is determined that under modern conditions edutainment must become a significant supplement to the classical methods of teaching financial literacy within the system of general secondary education in Ukraine.

Socio-biological factors of increased morbidity risk in participants of educational process in higher education institutions related to the global epidemiological situation in 2020-2021

One of the numerous negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic is the second epidemic of negative psychological effects. Population stress in modern conditions can serve as a catalyst for mental disorders of teachers and students. In the present situation, restrictive and special measures should be considered as additional harmful socio-biological factors for participants of the university educational process.

More International Students Coming to Russia: Pros and Cons

Introduction. Despite numerous research works on international students’ training at Russian universities, no analysis of efforts to increase student body has been made so far. In this paper, the authors analyze various aspects of policies aimed at increasing international students’ body (economic advantages, sociocultural benefits, education system changes, international students’ adaptation management). The goal of the paper is to consider the advantages and disadvantages of the international students’ rise in the total population of Russian universities. Materials and Methods. The study comprised several stages, including statistical data screening, analysis of international students’ adaptation measures efficiency, the education process participants’ survey and observation of the activities of public agencies responsible for international students’ stay and study in Russia. The survey involved about 100 university employees, an equal amount of small and medium business representatives and 500 international students from Russian universities. 500 international students participated in a questionnaire survey, and digital content of Russian universities’ websites has been analyzed in order to obtain data necessary for the study. Results. The study revealed a trend toward a rise in international student body at Russian universities, with advantages including higher universities’ incomes, jobs preservation despite the demographic instability, and development of the region’s small and medium business owing to an increased demand for goods and services. The trend also provided socio-cultural and educational benefits and revealed the need to manage students’ adaptation, as well as to establish and develop interaction between universities and federal agencies. Discussion and Conclusion. The research results provide a contribution to education and student body management and regional business strategy planning. The findings may be of assistance to heads of recruitment agencies and bodies responsible for accompanying international students at the place of stay, as well as to service industry managers.

Дистанционное обучение иностранному языку в высшей школе с использованием платформы Microsoft Teams

The study aims to analyse organisation of foreign language distance education (using the example of Microsoft Teams) at Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and to determine positive and negative aspects of education in the chosen format. The article considers the concept of “distance education”, experience of using the Microsoft Teams platform to organise students’ foreign language activities online, as well as attitude of educational process participants towards the distance education format. Scientific novelty of the paper lies in identifying the main characteristics of a relatively new way of organising foreign language education at university basing on experience of using the Microsoft Teams platform. As a result of the study, advantages and disadvantages of conducting online foreign language classes are determined and predominantly positive attitude of students and teachers towards distance education is revealed.
