However, due to the influence of African politics and economy, African films always face the situation of insufficient production capacity in the film industry, internationalization experience, and film professionals. The Impact of Mega Sports Events on the Strength of the National Soft Power: A Comparative Analysis

Abstract This article examines the strategic use of mega sports events as a means to enhance national soft power, exploring the complex interplay between international sports diplomacy and geopolitical influence. The study will examine how these events serve as means of economic and cultural diplomacy and also as platforms for global interaction through a comparative analysis of countries that include South Africa, Brazil, Russia, Germany, and Qatar. Employing a qualitative methodology, the research synthesizes the existing literature and case studies to provide information on the objectives, strategies, and outcomes associated with hosting such events. This study aims to contribute to the larger discussion on soft power and its effectiveness in the modern international arena by analyzing the complex effects of these mega events on national branding. It does this by providing a nuanced understanding of how major international sporting events can affect geopolitical dynamics and shape international perceptions.

Interaction between Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture and A Community of Shared Future for Mankind

This study was designed to investigate the relationship between excellent traditional Chinese culture and a community of shared future for mankind from two sides. On the one hand, it analyzed the positive influence of a community of shared future for mankind on the culture through two dimensions (both theoretical and practical), the challenges facing the culture, as well as the feasible paths to promote the development of the culture. On the other hand, it discussed in three aspects that the community of a shared future for mankind borrowed the ideas from traditional Chinese culture, mainly concerning the relationship between human and nature, the views on righteousness and interests, along with safety and peace. The results elaborated thoroughly the interaction between the excellent traditional Chinese culture and a community of shared future for mankind. Therefore, contributions need to be made to the call of telling good Chinese stories in certain degree so as to improve our national soft power.

CHINA’S PUBLIC DIPLOMACY AT THE PRESENT STAGE

The purpose of the research. The article examines the current state of public diplomacy research in China. The subject, object, method and purpose of public diplomacy are analyzed. As a resource of national soft power, culture is an important means of implementing public diplomacy. In the article, we analyze the specific Chinese practice of implementing public diplomacy from the point of view of cultural public diplomacy. Results. As a result of the conducted research, the author comes to the conclusion that the status of public diplomacy in Chinese national diplomacy has increased rapidly. First, with regard to the current state of research, in recent years, the research of Chinese scientists in the field of public diplomacy has focused more on applied research than on theoretical ones, such as the role of public diplomacy in shaping the country’s image and strengthening its soft power. Secondly, with regard to the definition of public diplomacy, Chinese scientists hold different views on the subject, object and method of public diplomacy, but on the purpose of public diplomacy, Chinese scientists believe that public diplomacy, like other types of traditional diplomacy, is aimed at protecting and strengthening national interests. Thirdly, humanitarian exchanges have always been an important part of Xi Jinping’s socialist diplomatic thought with Chinese specifics in the new era and an important pillar of Chinese diplomacy. China has enriched Chinese public diplomacy with the opening of Confucius institutes, exchanges, large-scale cultural events and large-scale sports events, promoted the popularization of Chinese culture, strengthened mutual understanding and cooperation with the peoples of other countries and achieved good results.

Soft Power in Hard Concrete: the Berlin Congress Hall, the Cold War and the Building of Transatlantic Relations

Summary The opening of the Congress Hall in Berlin-Tiergarten in 1957 took place during the heyday of the Cold War. Designed by American architect Hugh Stubbins, the building became a focal point in East–West confrontations. Against this backdrop, the article explores the role of architecture in national soft power by taking the example of the Berlin Congress Hall. Commencing with a discussion of architecture as a component of soft power along five criteria, it goes on to examine the planning of the Congress Hall and the significance of its unique design vocabulary. The article concludes that the building, strategically located near the sector borders separating East and West, represents a concrete embodiment of US soft power. Although not an official representational building, the Congress Hall has thus served as a political, cultural and ideational ‘embassy’ of the United States and a major building block in German–American relations up to the present.

Rearticulating the promotion of Japanese language and culture from the perspective of "soft power": planning and effects.

The concept of soft power has engendered lively discourse within the international community. The development of a nation's soft power frequently hinges on cultural communication and the promotion of language. This manuscript concentrates on Japan as a case study and undertakes an investigation of the methods it has employed to cultivate its soft power. To accomplish this objective, Japan's strategies for cultural communication and the promotion of the Japanese language are comprehensively examined. From the perspective of language planning, prestige planning of language and culture constitutes a crucial mode of cultural communication, whereas language education planning (or acquisition planning) is the primary method of language promotion. Japan has adeptly disseminated its culture overseas through cultural communication and language promotion. On one hand, it fashions a "cool culture" embodied by anime and manga to augment cultural appeal and amplify national image. On the other hand, it advances the Japanese language abroad by establishing supportive institutions, dispatching experts and volunteers, and creating online teaching materials. Building on Japan, this paper establishes a theoretical framework for the construction of soft power, employing the aforementioned two approaches as valuable guides for research on soft power.

SPORTS DIPLOMACY AND SOFT POWER: ANALYSIS AND PROSPECTS OF APPLICATION OF WORLD PRACTICES FOR UKRAINE

This article explores the concept of sports diplomacy as an effective tool for enhancing national soft power and diplomatic reach, particularly for Ukraine. It examines successful models from Saudi Arabia, Australia, and the European Union. Saudi Arabia's approach demonstrates the power of using sports for global influence through significant investments and hosting international events. Australia's model highlights a government-led strategy that supports sports diplomacy, knowledge sharing and community development. The European Union's use of sports diplomacy focuses on promoting peace and cooperation among member states. For Ukraine, adapting these models offers a pathway to amplify its international voice and align sports initiatives with diplomatic goals. The article suggests that Ukraine can leverage sports diplomacy to strengthen international relationships, enhance its global presence, and promote values effectively.

Research on the practice of teaching mode on the courses about Chinese national conditions and culture for international students in China

For international students in China, education on Chinese national conditions and culture is the main way to help them understand China and shape their positive perception of China and to strengthen China's international communication capacity and enhance the strategic task of national soft power. However, current courses on Chinese national conditions and culture for international students have been found several limitations, such as lack of ideological and political value guidance, being limited to classroom teaching and insufficient integration of the courses. Therefore, this article aims to build a "Four-in-One" teaching approach which can integrate online and offline education to coordinate dynamic and static education, and incorporate theory and practice teaching to combine in-class and out-of-class teaching. Therefore, it's hoped that this will help achieve the goal of talent training for international students in China and improve the quality of international education. Concurrently, it will improve our ability to engage in international communication so as to tell China's stories well, make the voice of China heard, and present a true, multi-dimensional, and panoramic view of China to the world.

A Modeling Study on the Teaching System of Chinese Language in Colleges and Universities and the Cultivation Path of Bi-Creative Talents

Abstract The trend of cultivating Chinese language dual-creative talents in colleges and universities is inevitable due to the increasing importance of national soft power. This paper studies the Chinese language teaching system and the cultivation path of dual-creative talents in colleges and universities using a modeling approach. The competency model’s iceberg model determines the dimensions and measurement items of dual-creative talents, verified through reliability analysis. At the same time, a QFD model for quality assurance of dual-creative talent cultivation in universities was established, and the importance of demand factors was calculated by analyzing the obtained results of each rating. Among the four factors, the degree of conformity was from the highest to the lowest: creative attitude, basic creative ability, creative expansion ability, professional knowledge, and skills, with rating values of 4.19, 4.12, 3.67, and 3.49, respectively. The empirical analysis of QFD showed that the highest weight of the demand level of development achievement of dual-creative talents cultivation reached 0.4066, followed by the basic conditions of teaching, which reached This study can provide some reference and help for the cultivation of Chinese language double-creative talents in colleges and universities, and help improve the quality of double-creative talents cultivation.

A Study of National Language Education Policies Based on Cognitive Characteristics

Language serves as both a medium for culture and the bedrock of a nation’s culture. Language supremacy is frequently employed in globalised competition to promote principles that strengthen national soft power and advance national cultural objectives. The creation and implementation of language education policy is a crucial tool for nations to realise their national cultural goals because it serves as the programmatic document that directs language education and the acquisition of linguistic superiority. In order to help individuals, understand the important role that language education policies play in promoting language education for national purposes and to provide theoretical references for strategic decisions and language education policy development, language education policies must be developed and implemented in close coordination with national development strategies.

Russian Strategic Communication - Endless Information Warfare

Strategic communication determines the communicative aspects of national soft power, and it is an integral part of the national security structure of a modern state. Russian military thought makes a substantial deviation from the term „strategic communication“, defining and applying the communicative contents of soft power by the terms „information security“ and „information warfare“. Russian understanding uses these forms of strategic communication in a constant struggle for supremacy and control of all information domains. Thus, Russia declares a permanent state of war in the information sphere. Based on a comprehensive analysis of the Russian scientific and operational approach to the interpretation of strategic communication, the article provides insight into Russia’s basic idea and genesis of information warfare. By reviewing strategic documents and applied organisational forms, the paper contributes to understanding the vital level of strategic communication on the applied aspects of national security of the Russian Federation. The article elaborates application forms of the Russian’s concepts of information security and information warfare, information operations, and psychological operations. Paper offers a case of Russia’s information warfare toward Serbia. Conclusively, Russia is very active in an informative sphere in international relations, which should have in mind in the relations with that power.

Analysis of the Relationship between National Image Building and International Communication Ability from the Perspective of Ecology under the Media Environment.

With the gradual expansion of China's political, economic, and military strength, the rapid rise of China has become a globally recognized fact. At present, although China's international image as the world's second largest economy, military power, and political power has been increasingly accepted by the global community, China's image construction, as an important part of national soft power, is still facing many problems. This chapter focuses on defining the basic concepts of international publicity, China's soft power, and China's image construction in the context of new media integration, analyzes the international development trend of international publicity and the important functions and limitations of foreign publicity in establishing China's image construction, and analyzes the ecological environment of media integration development. Considering that there are great unfairness in the environment and the conflict of communication values is not conducive to the establishment of China's urban image, the article focuses on how to use global publicity values to establish China's national image and puts forward corresponding countermeasures.

The significance of context inheritance is to rebuild the connection point between tradition and this era, with an artistic technique belonging to contemporary China. Fashion design is an important means to inherit and carry forward Chinese excellent traditional culture, enhance national soft power and shape national cultural image. This paper adopts comparative study, case analysis, practice test and other research methods are adopted, combs the relationship between tradition and fashion in fashion design; analyzes the development trend of future clothing design under the influence of science and technology; this paper discusses the design logic under the concept of context inheritance, and explores and practices the talent training mode of textile and garment education based on the innovative development of traditional culture, so as to promote the innovative development of garment design education in colleges and universities in China in the process of context inheritance.

THE NATION BRAND AND ITS STRATEGIC REFLECTION

In October 2016, the University of Pretoria, in association with Brand South Africa, hosted the first Nation Brand University Dialogue. For most participants, this was a rare opportunity to interrogate the need for a nation brand, assess the factors that shape it, examine the reciprocal effect between nation branding and the policy environment, and consider its potential limitations. From the ten presentations and extended panel discussion presented during the Dialogue, we chose to include five in this special focus because each reviewed a specific strategic aspect of nation branding.Branding as a concept is often restricted to the world of business and the marketing of products and services. But while promoting a nation's brand does rely on marketing tactics, the political scientists studying branding acknowledge that its purpose is far broader. From a strategic perspective, nation branding seeks to grow a positive predisposition towards a country's principles, policies and products, which, in turn, is used to leverage a nation's soft power authority to advocate forspecific objectives in the world's centres of power.

Hard and Soft Power Approaches to Armed Conflicts: The United States in Iraq and Russia in Syria

Armed conflicts are generally associated with the use of hard power for coercing and forcing an opponent to do something against its will in a situation where war is an extension of politics. However, there are many scholarly observations about the important role of soft power in armed conflicts, the interaction between hard and soft power, and the effects on one another within the framework of an armed conflict. This paper explores two specific armed conflicts, the 2003 U.S.-led military intervention in Iraq and the 2015 Russian intervention in Syria. Various aspects of hard and soft power approaches are discussed, and the outcome of military operations for the national soft power potential is analyzed. The results of the study show that whereas the Iraq War came as a disaster for the U.S., the military operation in Syria—despite dire predictions—created strengths and opportunities for Russia in international relations.

Research on the Teaching Model of Animation Professional Class Based on AR/VR Technology and 5G Network

The use of emerging technologies is becoming more common in today’s world, and as media integration deepens, so does the use of virtual reality technology. As an emerging science and technology, VR/AR technology plays a critical role in society’s development and progress, and its application in current education and teaching has become an indispensable link. The production of high‐quality animation professionals is the society’s and the animation industry’s urgent need for talent, the precondition for the prosperity of cultural and creative industries, and the foundation of national soft power. To bring more technical changes to education and provide theoretical support for the realization of human‐computer interaction technology, this paper mainly elaborates on the concept and application fields of VR/AR technology and discusses the specific applications of VR/AR technology according to its different educational stages. The main point of the presentation is to demonstrate how, in the era of 5G networks, large bandwidth, ultralow latency, massive connectivity, and ultrahigh reliability provide a strong network foundation for widespread VR/AR application. We will investigate the paucity of teaching methods, teaching modes, and teaching platforms as a result of the application of 5G‐based VR/AR technology in the teaching field of animation majors, as well as the design of teaching methods, teaching modes, and experimental training platforms based on 5G‐based VR/AR technology in animation majors in conjunction with the training plan of engineering students at our university. We will delve deeper into the integration of VR/AR technology and higher education teaching, laying the groundwork for “AI+” education. VR/AR technology can be used in the classroom to present information to students in a more three‐dimensional and intuitive way, which not only increases student interest in learning but also improves the learning experience and cultivates core literacy.
