QUANTITATIVE TAXIS IN THE ASPECT OF THE INTERCATEGORIAL

Problem statement. This article considers taxis and quantitativeness in the aspect of their intercategorial interaction. These categories are considered from the standpoint of a centered approach and are characterized by mutual connections implemented in the segment of verbal and nominal quantitativeness. The focus is on deverbatives, verbs of iterative and phase semantics, as well as adverbials / attributes with quantitative properties. Results. The German statements with prepositional deverbatives and quantitative indicators were examined. In the course of the study, it was revealed that in the statements with prepositional deverbatives, in the presence of quantitative indicators (deverbatives, verbs, attributes, adverbials), the quantitative-taxis values of simultaneity and non-simultaneity are actualized which act as a result of various intercategorial integrations. Conclusion. In German statements with prepositional deverbatives containing different quantitative indicators, it is possible to realize of various variants of quantitative-taxis categorial situations of simultaneity and non-simultaneity – iterative-taxis, phase-taxis etc.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIAL ISOLATION AND EXPECTATION FOR PERMANENT LIVING IN A MARGINALIZED COMMUNITY IN JAPAN

Abstract Social isolation is a predominant issue for the well-being of older adults in Japan. In marginalized communities, there is a high aging ratio of over 50%, and many older adults live alone. If they did not have connections in the community, there would be huge problems, not just loneliness but also the lack of necessities of daily life. This fact could threaten their permanent living. Therefore, This research examines the relationship between social isolation and permanent living expectation. Data were gathered by surveying a marginalized community every two years from 2015 to 2019 (N=435). Logistic regression analysis was conducted. For measuring social isolation, the questionnaire includes two items as independent valuables; “How many contacts do you have with community residents in a week?”, “How many contacts do you have with someone living out of this community in a week?.” An item measured permanent living expectation as a dependant valuable; “Would you like to be living here permanently when you live alone?” Gender, age, economic status, health status, and living alone were also included in the analysis. The results show that the number of contacts with community residents significantly predicted the permanent living expectation(P<.00, odds ratio=1.099). Health status is also significantly associated with a permanent living expectation. Findings suggest that social isolation in a community is a risk for giving up a permanent living. It could be social exclusion. Our effort to make mutual connections and contacts among the community residents could ease the risk of social exclusion.

The Burden of Yellow Fever on Migrating Humans through The Darién Gap, Adjacent Communities, and Primates’ Biodiversity

Given the ongoing migratory crisis in Latin America, we aimed to assess the relationship between human mobility and the spread of yellow fever (YF) in the Darién Gap forest. We investigated how the time taken to cross the forest affects the burden of a potential YF outbreak on people migrating through the forest, the burden on adjacent communities, and the risk to primate biodiversity. Using an SEIR-SEI deterministic compartmental model for humans, monkeys, and vectors, and numerical simulations, we considered the time taken to cross the forest as a measure of exposure. If an outbreak occurs, over 23,000 human cases are projected, with approximately 19,000 infected individuals leaving the forest. Monkeys would also be significantly affected, with the number of human deaths being determined by monkey-related parameters. The pace of crossing the forest is strongly related to the number of exposed and active cases leaving the forest. Panamanian communities must receive support to prepare themselves to protect residents and thousands of people arriving in their territory daily. It would also impact the non-human primate community within the forest, preventing a YF outbreak. This reinforces the importance of a planetary health perspective which reinforces the mutual benefits and connections between efforts to protect human health and conserve biodiversity.

Political connections, corruption, and investment decisions of Chinese mutual funds

We examine the impact of political connections on the investment decisions of Chinese mutual funds. We identify a direct link between mutual funds' political connections and stocks held from the same political network using hand-collected information on the professional backgrounds of Chinese mutual fund managers and fund management company (FMC) shareholders. While mutual funds tend to allocate more investments to stocks based on their political connections, this effect alleviates somewhat after the 2012 anti-corruption campaign. Our findings suggest that anti-corruption campaigns can help reduce the political effects of government-related agencies on fund holdings and contribute to better market fairness.

Romantic Painters on Art

Philipp Otto Runge and Caspar David Friedrich, well known Romantic painters, were not only notable masters of the brush but also theorticians of art. The present essay is devoted to an analysis of their theories. Its novelty consists in the fact that it analyzes for the first time the theoretical views that are expressed in the texts of both artists. Runge’s charactertistic feature is a pantheistic experience of God. According to him, it must be expressed in art. He proposes his own dialectic of being, which essentially consists of development, struggle, and mutual annihilation of opposite elements at the moment of achieving perfection. It is precisely this dialectic that, according to him, forms the foundation of art, where he sees an opposition between feeling and reason. Runge pays special attention to the notion of the “spirit of art,” which appears on the basis of the feeling of mutual connection between the human being and the universe, as well as of the artist’s foresentiment of God. In its foundation, art is symbolic and therefore close to religion. The spirit of art manifests itself in what one can call the music, poetry, or symbolism of a work of art. In art, Friedrich sees the spiritual foundation of the world. He distinguishes between skill and “spirituality” in it. According to him, one can master the skill, but one inherits spirituality from birth, and few artists possess it. As a Romantic landscape artist, he opposed illusionism in painting. He considered the creative element in art, which is born in the artist’s inner world, as pivotal. Feeling plays the principal role in art. For this reason Friedrich foregrounds the uncon-scious, although he is convinced that reason and skill must actively participate in the creative process as well. Friedrich preferred winter, foggy, and crepuscular landscapes, which expressed Romantic moods well.

Research of Mutual Connection and Differences Between Academic Procrastination and Excessive Internet Use Among College and University Students

In the educational environment the Internet is a basic and widely used tool for teaching and learning, but along with its use the Internet can also bring many problems to students' lives, if it becomes problematic. However, problematic Internet use can have negative consequences for students, especially when a tendency to procrastinate in their academic tasks develops. The study examines the connection between excessive Internet use and academic procrastination among high school and university students. The carried-out research used a questionnaire method; where a PRIUSS questionnaire to measure problematic Internet use, and a PPS questionnaire to measure academic procrastination were used. The research group consisted of 389 respondents, of whom 205 were university students and 184 were high school students, and the respondents ranged from 16 to 22 years (M = 18.4, SD = 3.16) of age. The study demonstrates a positive significant connection between problematic Internet use and academic procrastination (Sig. < 0.01), and therefore an increase in excessive Internet use increases the level of academic procrastination. The difference between academic procrastination among students at universities and high school students has not been demonstrated (Sig. > 0.05), but the benefit of the work is the knowledge and usability in both psychological and pedagogical practice.

Literary Travel and Cycling during fin de siècle England

For most of the literary historians, the time period between the 1880s and 1920s have generally been accepted as the climax years of the notion of literary travelling not only in Europe but also in England. This type of journeying fashion is seen in the literary works of many English writers such as Charles Dickens, Thomas Hardy, Arthur Conan Doyle and many others. Literary travel can be considered as roaming of places of literary interest for pleasure where the traveller could experience and re-memory of birthplaces, homes, haunts and even graves of the prominent literary figures. Visiting places related with the particular writers or books coincides with bicycle condensed years of the last quarter of the nineteenth century (fin de siècle) in England. In addition to the above writers, Elizabeth Robins Pennell and Joseph Pennell are two different kind of travellers and their published account namely Our Sentimental Journey through France and Italy is worth scrutinizing. Both as American citizens, the Elizabeth Robins and Joseph Pennells decided to move to England in 1884, where they carried on their artistic and literary engagements for nearly thirty years, and the couple regularly had the chance to travel to Europe and brought their cultural baggage there on their tricycles. Joseph Pennell was born in Philadelphia, and he was an acclaimed lithographer of his time. After graduating from Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Joseph worked on the illustrations of travel articles and books for American publishers for a while. Through the mutual connection and overlapping of these two fin de siècle trends (literary travel and cycle travel) and the above-mentioned text of the Pennells’, this paper argues that the sentimental preconception of cycling complicates the experience of travelling for the above-mentioned couple as they tried to imitate Laurence Sterne, well-known writer of novels and travel accounts. For this respect, some supportive quotations will be given from the Pennells’ text in which they both lack to illustrate their sentimental mood in times and in other times, successfully show their joy enthusiasm in their pedalling with their tricycles. Thus, the foremost aim of this paper is to elaborate on Pennells’ text claiming their intertextual allusions on their former model Laurence Sterne.

STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT ON THE EXAMPLE OF KOZARA NATIONAL PARK

The sustainable development of tourism represents a positive approach in development, its intentions are to reduce the discrepancies that arise in the relations between the tourism industry, local communities, the environment and tourists. Protected areas, and especially national parks, are important tourist destinations. The principles of sustainable tourism help managers to organize and improve the areas they manage. In this sense, the strategic approach of sustainable development of tourism represents the aspiration of management structures to launch initiatives that will not degrade natural resources. Of particular importance in the development of tourist destinations are their elements and attractive factors, on the basis of which their further development and organization is directed. The concept of sustainable development, as the most important challenge and task at the beginning of the 21st century, should be based on an integral holistic approach, which implies the mutual connection of all factors that participate in the development of tourism. In modern business conditions, it is necessary to improve the management of tourist areas, with the aim of preserving them, as well as improving the quality of development. This implies the definition of indicators that ensure the measurement of various economic, physical and sociocultural impacts, which originate from tourism. The success of the operation of the “Kozara” National Park depends on quality strategic management, i.e., formation of strategic harmony between the destination’s resources, on the one hand, and threats and opportunities, on the other. The aim of this paper is to point out the need to apply strategic management of sustainable development of tourism in the National Park “Kozara”, and to define an adequate strategy to ensure the effectiveness of the National Park “Kozara” as a protected tourist destination.

DRVENA KONSTRUKCIJA CENTRALNOG DELA KROVA CRKVE U NIKŠIĆU

The paper presents the solution of the timber roof structure of the central nave in the town of Nikšić in Montenegro. The central part of the roof is shaped like a regular pyramid over an octagonal base. The basic structural system consists of eight curved timber girders, which are supported in the corners of the octagon and are connected at one point at the top of the roof. Above these girders, in their plane, the secondary supporting structure was added, in order to form the pyramidal shape of the roof. Considering the curved shape of the girders of the basic structural system, the design of the structure foresees glued laminated timber for the basic elements of the roof structure. The solution includes a presentation of all elements of the roof construction, according to the hierarchy of load transfer, as well as a solution of steel connectors for the mutual connection of timber elements.

The Experience of Others: A Phenomenological Approach

Phenomenology places the experience of otherness at the core of its philosophical perspective. However, the meaning of this form of experience is complex and varies according to each thinker. Husserl started an investigation that led to many other different approaches, all related to that of the founding father, but also entertaining mutual connections between them. In this paper the outline of Husserl’s position is offered with some discussions, and then a sketch of Sartre’s, Merleau-Ponty’s and Levinas’s is provided in order to show some of the main issues involved in this question. Husserl outlines his position in an apparently paradoxical way, as he poses the problem of solipsism not so much to refute it, but to deepen it, radicalize it, and thus also identify an unexpected and fruitful solution. Faithful to the principle according to which the phenomenological science of experience must be “in the first person”, he thus assumes the paradox of solipsism, that is, the problem of how I can understand and experience the experience of another I, of an alter ego, to show that in fact this is not only plausible but also perfectly understandable. Otherness is thus seen to be not only a major problem of phenomenology, but the question concerning the foundation itself of this particular approach. The debate issued from Husserl’s original outline allowed other thinkers to deepen the question and bring the investigation further, toward a direction that directly involves other disciplines and is still debated among phenomenologists today.

On the evolution of hydration cracks of compacted bentonite under different boundary conditions

Bentonite is widely used as a buffer/backfill material to dispose of the high-level radioactive wastes (HLWs). The precast bentonite blocks can cause the technological voids to be widespread in the repositories, acting as the primary channels for water migration. Luckily, bentonite will swell considerably when exposed to water, making it possible to seal the voids. The self-sealing process intensifies the uneven expansive deformation of bentonite and induces the cracking phenomenon. To be close to the actual situation, various boundary conditions were considered in this paper to carry out a series of hydration tests on compacted Gaomiaozi (GMZ) bentonite. The dynamic evolution of hydration cracks was investigated in both qualitative and quantitative way. Experimental results showed that the cracks basically followed a tendency of emerging first, then extending and finally closing. The bentonite sample with radial and vertical technological voids was characterized with a greater cracking degree than the case where only a radial void existed. According to the time history curves of geometric parameters, there was a close correspondence between the increase and the decrease stages from different cracks, indicating that the existing cracks provided deformation space for the initiation and propagation of subsequent cracks by sacrificing themselves. Due to stress or suction change, a re-cracking phenomenon was reflected on some bimodal curves, which demonstrated a significant memorability of the hydration cracks. Generally, the discrepancy in cracking behavior under different boundary conditions was related to the friction effect. The existence of vertical technological voids decreased the swelling pressure, thus reducing the friction force on the boundary. The suppression effect on the crack propagation was consequently weakened, which was conducive to forming wide cracks and strengthening the mutual connection between cracks.

Peasant traders, migrant workers and “supermarkets”: Low‐cost provisions and the reproduction of migrant labor in China

AbstractThis article analyzes the social and spatial dynamics of the mobile trade in low‐cost goods by rural people from a mountainous region of China's Zhejiang province and how these interact with the mobility and social reproductive patterns of the rural–urban migrant workers they cater to. Also formally categorized as peasants, the traders not only supply the goods necessary for the maintenance of the workers but also of their spatially divided household, thus contributing to the reproduction of migrant labor power more generally. In doing so, they assume mobility trajectories that align with those of factory production and experience familial trade‐offs commonly experienced by migrant workers. Meanwhile, the provision of low‐cost goods to migrant workers has enabled a thriving economy employing peasant families for whom agricultural livelihoods slowly disappear. These dynamics indicate the mutual connection between waged and self‐employed labor that works in the interest of capital accumulation at the same time with the differentiation of migrant labor. As in other comparable Asian contexts, their connection lies at the heart of the state‐sponsored production regime premised on the low‐cost reproduction of flexible migrant labor.

Winner or loser? The bidirectional impact between geopolitical risk and energy transition from the renewable energy perspective

Increasingly complex global geopolitical situations are causing severe impacts on energy markets and making renewable energy (RE) the best energy option. Against fierce geopolitical conflicts, this investigation attempts to probe the bidirectional impact between geopolitical risk (GPR) and RE. By applying the rolling-window Granger causality test, we find that GPR positively and negatively impacts RE. The positive influence confirms that geopolitical competition increases the traditional energy usage cost and incentivises investment in the RE sector. This suggests GPR can be perceived as a winner in driving the energy transition. However, the rise in GPR reduces RE projects' attractiveness and inhibits the energy transition process's smooth progress. The adverse impact of RE on GPR indicates that RE is an effective channel for increasing energy diversity and reducing geopolitical events. However, the expansion of RE is vulnerable to national policy changes and critical resource competition, which induces new geopolitical conflicts. This finding is supported by the classic production model, emphasising that GPR and RE have mutual connections. To this end, governments should provide incentives for deploying RE projects to ensure energy security and promote energy transition.

IBN ARABI'S CREATIVE IMAGINATION IN ODHY POETRY OF SUFISM FIGURES IN HIS ANTHOLOGY RAHASIA SANG GURU SUFI

This research aims to analyze the Sufism figure in Odhy poetry anthology Rahasia Sang Guru Sufi through Ibn Arabi's creative imagination. The Sufism figure has an important role in the Sufism discourse, and creative imagination is related to literary discourse. Ibn Arabi’s creative imagination combined indicated Ibn Arabi himself and his imagination. Ibn Arabi’s thought is compatible with the literature and applied as a theoretical approach to mystical literature, namely the work of Odhy, the Sufism figure poetry. Those terms denote part and relate to Sufism studies, especially a murshid (guru) to guide the spiritual guidance through stations until the peak. Those path finders indicate the creative imagination that Odhy used in his poetry collection; at the same time, the literature has related to that imagination. This research reveals the mutual connection between literature and Islamic mysticism based on imagination. This figure is a person who wrote down his role in the discourse and history of Sufism. The data on Sufism figures are collected through the descriptive method from the primary source of those anthologies. Besides, the historical approach explains his poetries in those anthologies. This research found the Sufism figures as a thought in Islamic Mysticism in history through Ibn Arabi’s creative imagination and an image resource in literature.

Fantastic and associative filters in pseudo quasi-ordered residuated systems

An interesting generalization of hoop-algebras and commutative residuated lattices is the concept of quasi-ordered residuated systems (shortly QRS) introduced in 2018 by Bonzio and Chajda. Quasi-ordered residuated system is an integral commutative monoid with two internal binary operations interconnected by a residuation connection. This specificity is the reason for the complexity of this algebraic structure and the existence of a significant number of substructures in it, such as various types of filters. The notion of pseudo quasi-ordered residuated systems was introduced and developed in 2022 by this author, omitting the commutativity requirement in QRSs, discussing, additionally, filters in it. Concept of pseudo QRSs is a generalization of the notion of QRSs. In this report, as a continuation of previous research, in addition to the introduction of concepts of fantastic and associative filters in a pseudo quasi-ordered residuated system, their mutual connection between them is discussed, and some examples are presented.

The function and Significance of Supply Chain Under the New Situation of Global Economy

The supply chain is an important tool for any economic individual to obtain sustainable development and maintain core competitiveness, and it is also the guarantee of coordinating supply and demand in economic development and financial goods market transactions. Under the new situation of global economic development, most enterprises use more effi-cient and perfect processes to make their supply chain run efficiently in order to maintain competitiveness. On the basis of their respective divisions of labor, different enterprises have formed a pattern of mutual dependence, connection, and common development. The traditional competition among individual enterprises has gradually evolved into a compe-tition among different components of the supply chain. On the basis of perfect economic market, the supply chain further integrates various economic subjects and their activities in series, and refines the individual and overall layout in the economic cycle. This paper fo-cuses on the importance and role of supply chains in the new global economic development situation, specifically on how supply chains can promote and improve the development of economies, enterprises, and individuals. As well as the important coordination and promo-tion role of the supply chain in the whole market's resource processing and circulation in the process of economic development, the relevant research is carried out by means of inves-tigation, data collection, and consultation. After a series of studies, we have come to the conclusion that the supply chain plays an irreplaceable role and has significant significance in economic development and enterprise development in the global market and plays an important coordinating and helping role in the development of different industries.

Dall’animazione al laboratorio: trasformazioni, strutture e protagonisti del teatro nella scuola

In Italy, theatrical practice is not organically integrated into the mandatory educational curriculum, but is part of the integrative activities that are freely decided and implemented by the individual schools. Nevertheless, theatre does not occupy a secondary position. On the contrary, the institutional fluidity of the Italian system allows for extremely varied and widespread scenic and workshop activities, and a special integration between the school and the experimental theatre. In fact, the history of the renewal of the Italian school is closely connected to that of the theatrical renewal. This essay is devoted to their mutual connection from the sixties up to the present day.

Harmonic functions associated with Pascal distribution series

The primary objective of this paper is to explore the application of a specific convolution operator, which incorporates the Pascal distribution series. Through this investigation, we establish essential inclusion relations between the harmonic class HΥ(ϱ,ξ) and other classes of harmonic functions, namely, harmonic starlike functions and harmonic convex functions, all defined within the confines of the open unit disk. Moreover, we derive consequential outcomes from our main findings. The study delves into the intriguing interplay among these harmonic function classes, shedding light on their underlying properties and mutual connections. The presented results contribute to a deeper understanding of harmonic functions and provide a valuable basis for further research in this area.

우리나라 지방자치단체 운영성과 제고방안에 관한 연구

In order to improve more reasonably and productively in a series of administrative operations and policy processes in Korean local governments, systematic operational performance evaluation of administrative work execution results was recognized as an important management function. It will be possible to promote the development of local administration and enhance administrative autonomy and accountability by checking the productivity of local governments' administrative operations and conducting a rigorous and accurate evaluation of leadership and administrative performance. In this context, this study will review the evaluation areas and measurement indicators of local government operation performance for local government evaluation, extract the determinants of local government evaluation through a review of previous studies, present a performance evaluation model and seek policy directions to improve operational performance. This study on efficient local government operation plans and the role and leadership direction of local government heads can recognize their importance from a political, social, economic, and customer (resident)-oriented perspective. Only when the evaluation system for local government's operational performance is established and utilized under mutual connection with local residents will the local government increase its efforts to improve the quality of life and maximize residents' satisfaction, and regional development policies can also be implemented from a long-term perspective.

The Seventh and Eighth Grade Primary School Students’ Physical Fitness and Results on the Gymnastics Polygon

The purpose of the study was to determine the connection between physical fitness and the results on the gymnastics polygon in the seventh and eighth grade elementary school students. Additionally, it was necessary to determine the differences in the observed variables in relation to the grade, separately for each gender. Materials and methods. A total of 128 students from three elementary schools (64 male and 64 female students), 13 and 14 years old, participated in the testing. Five physical fitness tests were used (modified agility "T" test (MAT), Illinois agility run test, 10x5 shuttle run test, standing balance test and 2-minute step in place test), and a specially designed gymnastics polygon was used to assess the level of adoption of technical elements from artistic gymnastics. Results. A statistically significant correlation was recorded between all observed parameters with different levels, from moderate to strong correlations, both in relation to the grade, as well as in relation to the gender of the students. It was also determined that in boys, there are differences in only one test (MAT) in favor of the eighth graders, while in girls, there was a difference in three tests (MAT; 10x5 shuttle test; 2-minute step in place test) in favor of the eighth graders. Conclusions. So it can be concluded that there is a strong mutual connection between physical fitness and sports-specific skills, which are presented in this paper by means of the technical elements of artistic gymnastics.
