Optimalisasi Pengelolaan Simrs pada Unit Nurse Station Rawat Jalan di Rumah Sakit Mata Pekanbaru Eye Center Tahun 2024

This study aims to optimize the management of the Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) in the nurse station unit of the outpatient department at Pekanbaru Eye Center Hospital. Observations revealed various technical and operational challenges, including limited IT staff, lack of user training, and inadequate SIMRS infrastructure and features. The research methodology involved a priority problem analysis using the USG method (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) and Fish Bone Diagram to identify root causes. Proposed interventions include intensive training, development of relevant SIMRS features, technological infrastructure upgrades, standardized SOP preparation, and regular monitoring and evaluation. The findings suggest that these measures have the potential to significantly improve operational efficiency, data accuracy, and the quality of hospital services. The study’s implications are expected to assist hospitals in addressing digitalization challenges in the healthcare sector.

Enhancing Graduate Research Skills via Action Research and Book Clubs

This study investigates the application of action research to enhance the development of research methodology knowledge among graduate students. Students, in this study context, were dissatisfied with current courses, leading to knowledge gaps and limited application of research approaches. Through iterative cycles of action research, a book club intervention was implemented. Key findings highlight several critical design elements: selecting engaging textbooks, optimizing group size for interaction, scheduling sessions during breaks, actively facilitating discussion and misconception correction, and integrating technological tools for communication and reflection. Overall, this study underscores the potential of action research as a valuable framework for developing effective educational methodologies, emphasizing the need for thoughtful design in creating supportive learning environments. Future studies should explore innovative teaching approaches that incorporate diverse perspectives to further enrich graduate education.

Reimagining Futures--Decolonial Praxis in Higher Education

Several significant global social movements, including Rhodes Must Fall in the UK, Fees Must Fall in South Africa, Black Lives Matter in the US, and Why is My Curriculum White? in the UK, challenged the traditions and assumptions of modernization, colonialism, and imperialism within the existing education system. Therefore, the issue of decolonization in higher education deserves much attention. By means of literature analysis, this article explored how higher educational institutions can rethink their practices to be more inclusive and equitable by challenging dominant narratives and promoting decolonial methodologies in teaching, curriculum and research. Finally, three reflections are presented: (1) In some regions, decolonization refers to the formal end of colonial rule, while in others, it involves ongoing struggles to dismantle the legacies of colonialism, including economic dependency, cultural erasure, and social inequality; (2) How higher education institutions are engaging with decolonization; (3) Lack of support for marginalized scholars. The authors hope that through the discussion in this article, we can gain a deeper understanding of decolonial praxis in higher education.

Ambiguity of curator's authority in implementing sales of collateral objects on behalf of third parties in bankruptcy proceedings

Curators play a pivotal role in the bankruptcy process, tasked with managing and settling bankrupt assets. However, there exists ambiguity regarding the curator's authority in executing the sale of collateral objects on behalf of third parties. This study aims to analyze the regulations and authority of curators, as well as the legal certainty for curators in settling or selling collateral objects on behalf of third parties within the bankruptcy process. The current research employs a normative legal research methodology, utilizing a statutory approach and case studies. The findings reveal that curators are authorized to sell bankrupt assets through open auctions while adhering to the principles of bankruptcy. Nevertheless, regulatory changes concerning document requirements for auctioning third-party assets have led to legal uncertainty. Clear and firm regulations are necessary to enable curators to sell collateral objects on behalf of third parties without requiring proof of rights transfer, by completing alternative documents such as a statement letter and the determination of the supervisory judge. Harmonization of these regulations is expected to establish legal certainty for curators in carrying out their duties.

Social Media Analysis of High-Impact Information and Communication Journals: Adoption, Use, and Content Curation

The use of social media to disseminate academic content is increasing, particularly in scientific journals. This study has the following two main objectives: first, exploring the use of social media by high-impact academic journals in two different SJR categories (Library and Information Sciences and Communication), and second, analyzing content curation carried out by the world’s most influential journals in both areas. The research methodology is descriptive with a quantitative approach regarding the items studied. The study finds that COM journals have a stronger social media presence than LIS journals, and X dominates in both categories and regions as the top social network, with significant influence as the only platform. On the other hand, content curation was found to a high degree in both areas, especially in the LIS area, with 93% vs. 80% in COM. The study highlights that both COM and LIS journals primarily focus on promoting recent articles, with COM diversifying content more than LIS. In terms of the content curation techniques used in both areas, the majority are abstracting and summarizing.

Evaluating the perspectives and skills related to research among students in graduate teacher education within the context of the Philippines

This study investigated the research attitudes and capabilities of 338 graduate teacher education (GTE) students taking a Master of Arts in Education who enrolled in a Research Methodology course at a Philippine state university from 2022 to 2024. A descriptive correlational research design was employed using adopted questionnaires to assess the respondents’ attitudes toward research using five components. Further, the research capabilities of the respondents were also evaluated. The respondents were chosen using convenience sampling from all subject enrollees within the prescribed school year. Descriptive and inferential statistics were utilized to treat the data. The results revealed that the respondents had a very positive attitude toward the usefulness of research, a very positive attitude towards research, and a positive attitude toward research relevance to life while having negative attitudes toward research anxiety and difficulties. Moreover, the respondents are highly capable in the research process while they are capable of participating in research-related activities. Furthermore, a significant relationship was found between the usefulness, positive attitude, and relevance of research and research capabilities. The findings highlight GTE students' research attitudes and capabilities, offering valuable insights that encourage and support their pursuit of the research writing process.

Optimizing agricultural downstream supply chain: addressing information asymmetry and losses

PurposeThis study aims to understand the significant issues in the downstream supply chain of agricultural commodities and find out the improved strategy.Design/methodology/approachA value chain analysis on a downstream supply chain is performed to understand all ground-level issues related to information asymmetry and material losses. The study maps processes, actors, activities, product flow, information flow, material volume flow, technology adoption and value share. The study is performed by doing a qualitative survey using a semi-structured questionnaire and face-to-face interviews with 120 farmers, six aggregators, six traders in APMC mandis, six processors, six distributors and six retailers. A case study is performed on the mustard supply chain in Rajasthan to relate the results more comprehensively. After identifying the prominent issues, a cause-and-effect analysis is done to generate suggestions for improvement in the paper.FindingsThe study reveals that the downstream supply chain has 8–12% losses of agricultural produce, and 5–7% of that is at the farmer’s end as post-harvesting losses. Farmers cannot access all available options for marketing their produce because of poor information exchange and poor reach. It suggests farmer empowerment for the optimum benefit of the entire supply chain.Research limitations/implicationsThis is an exploratory study conducted by field visits and lacks statistical evidence for some findings. The dataset can be more extensive, diversified, and analyzed for various commodities.Practical implicationsThe study’s outcome will guide the stakeholders in finding more optimum options in the downstream agriculture supply chain. Research methodology can be used as a template for studying the supply chain of any agricultural commodity in different countries.Originality/valueThe study reveals the prominent issues, causes, effects and solutions throughout the agriculture downstream supply chain. The study is a bundle of foremost observations altogether. The study has been conducted in-depth in the field with actual scenarios that unlayered the hidden issues at the root. This study addresses a relatively underexplored area and provides actionable recommendations, which significantly contribute to the existing literature on the agriculture supply chain.

"They Make It So Hard on You": How Rurality Shapes Veterans' Health Experiences When Managing Gulf War Illness.

Gulf War illness (GWI) is characterized by multiple, persistent symptoms (e.g., fatigue, musculoskeletal pain, concentration problems, and gastrointestinal disorders) across more than one body system that are severe enough to interfere with daily functioning. For Veterans in rural areas, the confluence of geographic barriers and GWI may create unique challenges when navigating health care, given the range of specialty care needed to support GWI. However, little is known about how rural Veterans manage their GWI symptoms and navigate health care systems. To examine how Veterans with GWI perceive rurality to influence their health care experiences. A cross-sectional qualitative study utilizing Health Experiences Research methodology. Veterans with GWI, who served in the active-duty US military, National Guard, or Reserves during the 1990-1991 Gulf War (GW) and who connected rurality to their health care experiences during interviews. Secondary qualitative analysis and inductive thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews, conducted between November 2018 and August 2021, with Veterans about their military and health experiences over time. Fifteen (n = 15) Veterans with GWI connected rurality to their health care experiences and quality of life. Three themes emerged from their interviews: (1) GWI and rural residence amplified problems with care coordination; (2) Managing GWI made distance especially burdensome; and (3) Rural contexts facilitated wellness and support, while creating barriers to accessing care. Our findings suggest that rurality intersects with GWI management in ways that compound barriers to health care access for Veterans. VA can address time and distance barriers by continuing to expand specialty telehealth services and telehealth training for providers and patients. VA could also incorporate recommendations from the VA/DoD clinical practice guidelines into point-of-care decision support to enhance recognition of GWI and improve consistency of treatment, which may contribute to trust-building among GW Veterans.

СУЧАСНІ КОНЦЕПЦІЇ ТА ІНСТРУМЕНТИ АДАПТАЦІЇ ОРГАНІЗАЦІЙНИХ МОДЕЛЕЙ УПРАВЛІННЯ ЗОВНІШНЬОЕКОНОМІЧНОЮ ДІЯЛЬНІСТЮ

Introduction. In conditions of market destabilization, there is a growing need to define effective concepts and tools for adapting organizational models of foreign economic activity management in the context of increasing digitalization and increasing instability of the world economy. Changing regulatory conditions, rapid technological breakthroughs and increased competition require enterprises to be flexible and innovative. This is of particular importance for Ukrainian enterprises that are integrating into global markets. All this determines the relevance of defining effective approaches to increasing their competitiveness, efficiency and sustainability. The purpose of the article. The purpose of the study is identification of effective concepts and tools for adapting organizational models of foreign economic activity management to changes in the external environment, which ensure flexibility, competitiveness and sustainable development of the enterprise Methods. The research methodology is based on a comprehensive approach, including the analysis of scientific sources, economic data and modern approaches to the adaptation of foreign economic activity management. Comparative analysis methods were used to assess the effectiveness of organizational models, a systems approach to identify key adaptation tools, as well as modeling methods to develop recommendations. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of innovative technologies, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and big data, to improve management efficiency. Results. The article examines modern concepts and tools for adapting organizational management models to the challenges of foreign economic activity. The impact of globalization, digitalization, and geopolitical instability on the efficiency of enterprises operating in international markets is examined. Key approaches to adapting foreign economic activity management models are analyzed, including decentralization, customer orientation, and integration of innovative technologies. Practical tools for increasing organizational flexibility and improving the decision-making process are identified. The problems faced by Ukrainian enterprises in the process of integration into global value chains are investigated. The need to develop adaptive organizational models that meet the principles of sustainable development is proven. The need to support the competitiveness and efficiency of Ukrainian enterprises in a dynamic global economic environment is identified. Conclusions. The importance of adapting organizational models of foreign economic activity management to ensure the competitiveness of enterprises in a globalized environment has been proven. It has been determined that the introduction of innovative technologies and flexible management structures will contribute to increasing the efficiency and integration of Ukrainian enterprises into world markets.

Air quality protection behaviour and stock returns of public companies: Sectoral aspects

In the new economic reality, air quality protection behaviour of companies remains a burning issue shifting the em phasis towards saving human life and health. The article explores the relationship between the air quality protection behav iour of public companies and stock returns in different economic sectors. The research methodology is based on environmental management theory, financial management theory, and stakeholder theory. The analytical procedures performed on the data involved cross-sectoral economic analysis and econometric analysis. Empirical data are retrieved from the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) and the Moscow Exchange and cover statistics on 45 public joint-stock companies (PAOs) from five sectors of the economy for the period of 2014–2022. Cross-sectoral economic analysis has shown that investors lack interest in PAOs’ air quality protection behaviour and invariably favour companies from the sectoral indices paying higher dividends compared to the Moscow Exchange, such as Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Metals and Mining, Oil and Gas. By integrating air quality protection factors into the Fama-French-Carhart model through econometric modelling, we estimated the dependence of returns of indus try portfolios on these factors and classical risk premiums. The study demonstrates a positive impact of market premium and size premium on returns of industry portfolios. No statistically significant impact of air quality protection factors on stock returns was found. Our empirical findings confirm that businesses are poorly motivated to take air environment protection measures and air pollution-reducing behaviour should be encouraged at the state level.

Studying strategic behaviour of small industrial enterprises in the context of the organizational and industry life cycle concepts

Unlike large corporations whose business patterns have been extensively studied and categorized, there is a lack of research on small business strategies, leaving them largely unexplored. The article explores the strategic behaviour of small industrial enterprises in Russia within the organizational and industry life cycle concept. The research methodology is based on strategic management theory and the concept of the life cycle. The research methods include panel data analysis, the Beta coef f icient calculation, and the matrix method. The information base is the reporting data of 134 small enterprises from industries at different stages of the life cycle: metal casting (growth) and newspaper printing (maturity). Statistics for analysis were obtained from the SPARK Interfax database for the period of 1999–2021. We identified three types of strategic behaviour (‘aggressive’, ‘de fender’, and ‘counterstrategy’) and assessed their prevalence among small enterprises in the two industries under consideration. The results showed that mature small enterprises with an ‘aggressive’ intuitively strategic behaviour are the predominant type of business in a mature industry, while for small enterprises in a growing industry ‘defender’ and ‘counterstrategy’ are the prevalent strategies at all the life cycle stages. This paradox additionally proves the validity of our idea of the intuitively strategic behaviour of small businesses. Our findings contribute to the development of the SME life cycle theory and strategic management, can be used to adjust industry policy and government support measures, and can also be of interest to managers of small enterprises.

EXAMINING THE TRANSITIONAL JOURNEY: A MULTIPLE CASE STUDY OF A FORMER EMPLOYEES TURNED TO COLLEGE STUDENTS

This study aimed to explore and understand the experiences of Former Employees who turned back to college students. Using purposive sampling and inclusion criteria, the participating three (3) Kapalong College of Agriculture Sciences and Technology (KCAST) students who are former employees were identified. All of them participated in the in-depth interviews. This study employed a qualitative research methodology grounded in case studies to gain a deeper understanding of participants' experiences. Such an approach is beneficial for qualitative researchers as it guides hypothesis development through detailed investigations of small groups. Results revealed the challenges of the participants: struggling in adapting to changing social and professional environment; juggling between work and studies: and financial challenges in the pursuit of education. In response to the challenges they have encountered, they deem the following coping strategies essential; turning pressure into motivation; and empowering oneself through prayer and guidance. Upon reflecting on their entire experience, they arrived at the following insights; essence of striving for greater aspiration; importance of work experience in career progression; and education as pathway to advance career positions. It can be concluded that the transition from former employees to college students represents a transformative and enriching journey characterized by challenges, growth, and fresh opportunities. These individuals exhibit resilience and commitment as they balance work responsibilities and academic pursuits. The perspectives and diverse backgrounds they bring add valuable insights, contributing to a vibrant learning atmosphere that enhances the educational experience. Thematic Review of Endocrine Disruptors and Their Role in Shaping Pubertal Timing

This review examines the inconsistent effects of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and pollutants on pubertal timing, emphasizing the methodological challenges contributing to variability in findings. Data from nine key studies reveal that chemicals such as BPA, phthalates, and PFAS impact pubertal onset differently based on exposure timing, dosage, and sex. For instance, BPA is linked to earlier puberty in girls but delayed onset in boys, while other EDCs show mixed effects across populations. These discrepancies often arise from challenges in study design, such as the difficulty in establishing reliable control groups, accurately measuring exposures, and accounting for confounding factors like socioeconomic status, diet, and obesity. Sex-specific differences and environmental shifts during the COVID-19 pandemic, including increased indoor exposure and stress, further complicate the picture. These factors highlight the urgent need for more robust research methodologies, including standardized exposure assessments and longitudinal studies, to clarify the mechanisms driving these effects. Despite these challenges, the findings stress the importance of public health interventions, such as stricter EDC regulations, improved pollutant monitoring, and minimizing exposures during sensitive developmental windows. Addressing methodological gaps is crucial for producing reliable, actionable insights to protect adolescent development from the adverse effects of EDCs.

Gender differences in entrepreneurial equity financing—a systematic literature review

Abstract A growing body of literature explores whether and why female and male entrepreneurs differ in their access to equity financing. This trend has led to an increasing fragmentation of the research field, as many studies analyze various mechanisms and focus on a certain form of equity financing. To advance research on gender differences in equity financing, it is necessary to identify patterns and inconsistent findings in the literature related to these mechanisms. Therefore, we perform a systematic literature review to provide an overview of the current state of knowledge on gender differences in the key forms of entrepreneurial equity financing (venture capital, angel investment, and equity crowdfunding). Based on 75 studies from 2001 to mid-2024, our review indicates that male entrepreneurs have an advantage in raising capital from venture capitalists and business angels, whereas female entrepreneurs are more successful in equity crowdfunding. These gender differences stem from a complex combination of mechanisms, which we categorize into four thematic dimensions that capture entrepreneurs’ characteristics, investors’ characteristics, the ventures’ characteristics and strategies, and contextual factors. We propose specific future research directions for each dimension, and discuss theoretical and methodological research opportunities that are applicable across dimensions to improve our understanding of gender differences in equity financing.

Sustainable development of social responsibility in universities in the digital era: Perceptions and advances

The strategy of transforming universities into producers of new knowledge for technological enhancement through digital technologies, aimed at improving the quality of life and ensuring social responsibility and sustainability by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, underscores the relevance of our research. This research aims to investigate the evolution of students’ social responsibility within university settings amidst the backdrop of educational digitalization. The research methodology was based on a model of social responsibility as an integrative personal quality. The study revealed the insufficiency of the formation of the motivational factor of social responsibility among undergraduate students and the prevalence of instrumental motivation among a significant number of master's students. The null hypothesis was refuted and a pronounced positive dynamics of students’ social responsibility in the learning process was demonstrated. The need to orient the higher education system toward the development of students’ moral aspirations for conscious regulation of their educational and future professional activities was substantiated. The results of the study can be used to solve theoretical, methodological and practical problems of sociology. Future research aims to explore the driving components of students’ social responsibility motivation, to study comparative attitudes towards social responsibility between students and teachers, and to study the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in the context of universities’ corporate social responsibility. This expansion will include diversifying the respondent pool to cover other educational institutions, as well as expanding the sample to different cultural contexts.

A critical analysis of Purnomo and colleagues’ interpretation in Matthew 6:9–13

The reinterpretation of the Lord’s Prayer (Mt 6:9–13) as a prayer of thanksgiving rather than petition, based on their argument that the aorist tense in imperative and/or subjunctive verbs signifies actions completed in the past, along with their critique of the Lembaga Alkitab Indonesia (LAI) translation as erroneous, sparked debates among Christians in Indonesia and was leveraged by non-Christian groups to question the Bible’s authenticity. This study aimed to evaluate the validity of Purnomo et al.’s research by focussing on their interpretation of the aorist tense in imperative and/or subjunctive verbs, research methodology, use of literature, critique of the LAI translation and theological implications. A comprehensive review of literature and exegesis was conducted to analyse the grammatical, linguistic, methodological and theological aspects of the text. Based on a detailed examination, this study found that their interpretation of the aorist tense in imperative and/or subjunctive verbs in the prayer was unsupported by linguistic evidence and contradicted the principles of biblical Greek grammar, where the aorist tense emphasises ‘aspect’ rather than ‘time’ (e.g., ‘past tense’) of actions. Consequently, the theology derived from their study was flawed. Moreover, the study affirmed that the LAI translation accurately reflects the original context of the text. This research concluded that Purnomo et al.’s interpretation of the Lord’s Prayer (Mt 6:9–13) contained significant theological and linguistic errors that require revision.Contribution: This research critically contributes to biblical theology by addressing interpretative challenges in Matthew 6:9–13, refuting claims that the Lord’s Prayer expresses gratitude based on the aorist tense. It reaffirms the prayer as a supplication, grounded in biblical Greek grammar and theology, while defending the accuracy of the LAI translation. Advancing critical exegesis, the study promotes rigorous theological discourse and a deeper understanding of Scripture.

Digital Manipulation: Self-Presentation in the Film The Tinder Swindler

The development of digital technology, including social media, has emerged as a means of communicating with other people, one of which is the dating application called Tinder. Socializing, doing work, dating, and sharing life stories on social media are examples of daily activities carried out by people around the world. The focus of this research is on identity manipulation techniques which are studied using self-presentation strategy theory by Erving Goffman. This study describes how the main character uses digital platforms to manipulate using the Tinder application, as documented in the documentary film "The Tinder Swindler", resulting in losses and heartbreak felt by the victims of the dating application. The purpose of this research is to look at the digital manipulation carried out by the main character who uses the Tinder application through deceptive self-presentation for personal gain and to analyze the self-presentation strategies used in these acts of manipulation. This research methodology is qualitative using a content analysis approach which is used to explore the manipulative strategies carried out by the main character. Therefore, the results of this study show that by utilizing dating applications such as Tinder, social media, and other communication technologies, a person is able to create a very convincing fake identity and use various self-presentation strategies to deceive many victims and get everything they need through the media social.

Effects of Microbes on Insect Host Physiology and Behavior Mediated by the Host Immune System

Innate immunity is critical for insects to adjust to complicated environments. Studying the insect immune system can aid in identifying novel insecticide targets and provide insights for developing novel pest control strategies. Insects recognize environmental pathogens through pattern recognition receptors, thus activating the innate immune system to eliminate pathogens. The innate immune system of insects primarily comprises cellular immunity and humoral immunity. Toll, immune deficiency, and Janus kinase/signal transducers and activators of transcription are the main signaling pathways regulating insect humoral immunity. Nevertheless, increasing research has revealed that immune signaling activated by microbes also performs non-immune roles while exerting immune roles, and insulin signaling performs a key role in mediating the connection between the immune system and non-immune physiological activities. Therefore, this paper first briefly reviews the main innate immune signaling and insulin signaling of insects, then summarizes the relationship between immune signaling activated by microbes and insect growth and development, reproduction, pesticide resistance, chemical communication, cell turnover, lifespan, sleep, energy generation pathways and their possible underlying mechanisms. Future research directions and methodologies are also proposed, aiming to provide insights into further study on the physiological mechanism linking microbes and insect hosts.

Pengembangan Media Interaktif Canva untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pronunciation Siswa SD Muhammadiyah 8 Banjarmasin

This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of Canva-based interactive PowerPoint media to enhance pronunciation skills among fifth-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 8 Banjarmasin. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) methodology with a 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), the research identifies specific learning needs, designs prototypes, validates media through expert reviews, and implements it in the classroom. Observations revealed challenges such as limited vocabulary, pronunciation difficulties, and monotonous teaching methods relying on textbooks and audio recordings. The developed media combines visual, audio, and interactive elements, including quizzes, to engage students. Validation results showed high feasibility, with expert ratings averaging over 98%. A trial with 19 students demonstrated a significant improvement in pronunciation, with an average pre-test score of 62.36 increasing to 83.84 in the post-test, supported by an N-Gain of 0.50 (medium effectiveness). Feedback from teachers and students indicated that the media was practical, visually appealing, and motivational. The findings suggest that Canva-based interactive PowerPoint media effectively addresses pronunciation challenges while enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. This research highlights the transformative potential of integrating digital tools into education, offering practical solutions for language learning at the elementary level

EcoLingua: Optimizing Indonesian Learning through Lumen5 in Digital Era

This scholarly investigation examines the evolution and application of Lumen5-based video instructional media for Indonesian language pedagogy with a specific emphasis on environmental themes. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) methodology through the ADDIE framework, the inquiry produced five interactive videos that address various environmental challenges, including forest fires, flooding, waste management, landslides, and the maintenance of school hygiene. The research encompassed extensive evaluations involving 10th-grade students, utilizing a combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies to evaluate the efficacy of the video-centric learning paradigm. Findings indicated a 30% enhancement in students' understanding of environmental concepts in comparison to conventional text-based instructional strategies. Moreover, 80% of the students indicated heightened engagement with the educational content, while 75% exhibited advancements in their digital literacy competencies. The utilization of Lumen5's AI-driven platform was found to be effective in producing interactive, visually stimulating materials that are appealing to Generation Z learners.
