Completeness, accuracy, data quality, and timeliness in data collection and file arrangement are crucial aspects of the medical record data processing. This study aims to determine the relationship between the qualifications of Filing officers and the accuracy of medical record storage at the BKIM Sumbar. The research is of a quantitative descriptive nature with a cross-sectional research design. The population consists of 46 Medical Record and Service officers in West Sumatra BKIM, and the entire population is included as the sample. Based on the research findings, 67.4% of respondents have a high level of education, 58.7% have undergone medical record document storage training, 58.7% have been working as medical record document storage officers for a long time, and 52.2% do not store medical record documents accurately. The conclusion of the study is that there are still many instances of improper medical record file storage. Therefore, it is expected that hospitals can use the results of this study to enhance the knowledge of storage officers in the medical record storage process, leading to improvements in service quality at the hospital.

Analysis of Brain Tumor Detection Techniques

Abstract: The bio-medical image processing is the application of image processing to process medical data. The techniques of feature extraction and machine learning are efficient techniques brain tumor detection. Various network architectures are utilized, ordinarily with hundreds or thousands of adjustable parameters. The resulting condition forms are sufficiently general to unravel a large class of nonlinear classification and estimation problems and sufficiently complex to hide a multitude of sins. In this paper, various brain tumor detection techniques are reviewed analyzed in terms of certain parameters. It is analyzed that textual feature extraction and classification techniques give maximum accuracy for the brain tumor detection

Machine translation of standardised medical terminology using natural language processing: A scoping review

Standardised medical terminologies are used to ensure accurate and consistent communication of information and to facilitate data exchange. Currently, many terminologies are only available in English, which hinders international research and automated processing of medical data. Natural language processing (NLP) and Machine Translation (MT) methods can be used to automatically translate these terms. This scoping review examines the research on automated translation of standardised medical terminology. A search was performed in PubMed and Web of Science and results were screened for eligibility by title and abstract as well as full text screening. In addition to bibliographic data, the following data items were considered: 'terminology considered', 'terms considered', 'source language', 'target language', 'translation type', 'NLP technique', 'NLP system', 'machine translation system', 'data source' and 'translation quality'. The results showed that the most frequently translated terminology is SNOMED CT (39.1%), followed by MeSH (13%), ICD (13%) and UMLS (8.7%). The most common source language is English (55.9%), and the most common target language is German (41.2%). Translation methods are often based on Statistical Machine Translation (SMT) (41.7%) and, more recently, Neural Machine Translation (NMT) (30.6%), but can also be combined with various MT methods. Commercial translators such as Google Translate (36.4%) and automatic validation methods such as BLEU (22.2%) are frequently used tools for translation and subsequent validation.

Annotated dataset creation through large language models for non-english medical NLP

Obtaining text datasets with semantic annotations is an effortful process, yet crucial for supervised training in natural language processing (NLP). In general, developing and applying new NLP pipelines in domain-specific contexts for tasks often requires custom-designed datasets to address NLP tasks in a supervised machine learning fashion. When operating in non-English languages for medical data processing, this exposes several minor and major, interconnected problems such as the lack of task-matching datasets as well as task-specific pre-trained models. In our work, we suggest to leverage pre-trained large language models for training data acquisition in order to retrieve sufficiently large datasets for training smaller and more efficient models for use-case-specific tasks. To demonstrate the effectiveness of your approach, we create a custom dataset that we use to train a medical NER model for German texts, GPTNERMED, yet our method remains language-independent in principle. Deep-learning based detection of vessel occlusions on CT-angiography in patients with suspected acute ischemic stroke

Swift diagnosis and treatment play a decisive role in the clinical outcome of patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS), and computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems can accelerate the underlying diagnostic processes. Here, we developed an artificial neural network (ANN) which allows automated detection of abnormal vessel findings without any a-priori restrictions and in <2 minutes. Pseudo-prospective external validation was performed in consecutive patients with suspected AIS from 4 different hospitals during a 6-month timeframe and demonstrated high sensitivity (≥87%) and negative predictive value (≥93%). Benchmarking against two CE- and FDA-approved software solutions showed significantly higher performance for our ANN with improvements of 25–45% for sensitivity and 4–11% for NPV (p ≤ 0.003 each). We provide an imaging platform (https://stroke.neuroAI-HD.org) for online processing of medical imaging data with the developed ANN, including provisions for data crowdsourcing, which will allow continuous refinements and serve as a blueprint to build robust and generalizable AI algorithms.

Authentication of Medical Documentation with Privacy Protection and Sharing in Cloud

There is a growing need for better medical care as a result of the adoption of clever electronic gadgets and the development of cloud and cloudlet technologies. Data collection, storage, and dissemination are the three main steps in the medical data processing chain. The traditional healthcare system frequently requires the transfer of medical data to the cloud, resulting in the use of sensitive user data and communication energy. The exchange of medical information is a crucial and difficult problem. In this study, we suggest a brand-new human services framework that makes use of cloud let's flexibility. Security assurance, information sharing, and intrusion detection are among the components of cloudlets. We apply the Number Theory Research Unit (NTRU) technique to encrypt the user's bodily data gathered by wearable devices during the data gathering phase. This information is then efficiently transferred to nearby cloudlets. We also present a trust model to help users choose reliable partners that want to share cloudlet-stored data.

Analysis of neuropsychological and neuroradiological features for diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment

BackgroundAge-related neurodegenerative diseases are constantly increasing with prediction that in 2050 over 60 % of population will suffer from some level of cognitive impairment. A cure for the Alzheimer’s disease (AD) does not exist, so early diagnosis is of a great importance. Machine learning techniques can help in early diagnosis with deep medical data processing, disease understanding, intervention analysis and knowledge discovery for achieving better medical decision making. MethodsIn this paper, we analyze the dataset consisting of 90 individuals and 482 input features. We investigate the achieved AD prediction performances using seven classifiers and five feature selection algorithms. We pay special focus on analyzing performance by utilizing only a subset of best ranked attributes to establish the minimum amount of input features that ensure acceptable performance. We also investigate the significance of neuropsychological (NP) and neuroradiological (NR) attributes for the AD diagnosis. ResultsThe accuracy for the whole set of attributes ranged between 66.22 % and 81.00 %, and the weighted average AUROC was between 76.3 % and 95.0 %. The best results were achieved by the naive Bayes classifier and the Relief feature selection algorithm. Additionally, Support Vector Machines classifier shows the most stable results since it depends the least on the feature selection algorithm which is used. As the main result of this paper, we compare the performance of models trained with automatically selected features to models trained with hand-selected features performed by medical experts (NP and NR features). ConclusionsThe results reveal that unlike the NR attributes, the NP attributes achieve a good performance that is comparable to the full set of attributes, which suggests that they possess a high predictive power for AD diagnosis.

Improving accuracy of medical data handling and processing using DCAF for IoT-based healthcare scenarios

The Internet of Things (IoT), uses communication technologies and intelligent computing to improve data analysis and computation accuracy, which is essential to the healthcare industry. The sensitivity and requirement for precision in managing and processing medical data make it a difficult task for diagnosing patients. To handle medical data in a healthcare scenario based on the IoT, a Data Classification and Analysis Framework (DCAF) is proposed in this research. The proposed framework seeks to improve the precision and dependability of handling and processing medical data, which are essential components of biomedical signal processing. By reducing errors and accelerating the processing of medical data, the framework can help in improving the accuracy of medical diagnosis and therapy, which is a key objective of biomedical signal processing and control. The goal of this framework is to increase the reliability of message delivery by concentrating on data classification and analysis. The earlier procedure is in charge of decreasing the volume of medical data transfers and ensuring the accuracy and delivery of consent data. The framework's latter process is in charge of allotting suitable processing time slots to increase delivery speed and lower data handling faults. A linear decision-making process based on accessibility, sequence order, and accuracy constraints and conditions supports the framework's joint process. Utilizing measures such as an accuracy ratio 0f 93.09 %, message delivery rate of 0.949 %, error with a range of 0.052 %, classification of 73.81 ms, and analysis time over fluctuating flow instances and analysis slots, the suggested framework's performance is validated.

Medical emergency department triage data processing using a machine-learning solution

Over the years, artificial intelligence has demonstrated its ability to overcome many challenges in our day-to-day life. The evolution of it inquired more studies about Machine Learning possible solutions for different domains, including health care. The increasing demand for artificial intelligence solutions has brought accessibility to loads of data, including clinical data. The availability of medical records facilitates new opportunities to explore Machine Learning models and their abilities to process a significant amount of data and to identify patterns with the purpose of solving a medical problem. Understanding the applicability of artificial intelligence on this type of data has to be a compelling aim for emergency medicine clinicians. This paper focuses on the general clinical problem of the complex correlation between medical records and later diagnosis and, especially, on the process of emergency department triage which uses the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) as triage protocol. This study presents a comparison between three different Machine Learning models, such as Logistic Regression, Random Forest Tree and NN-Sequentail, with the purpose of classifying patients with an emergency code. We conducted four experiments because of imbalanced data. A web-based application was developed to improve the triage process after our theoretical and exploratory results. Overall, in all experiments, the NN-Sequential model had better results, having, in the first experiment, a ROC-AUC score for each ESI emergency code of: 0.59%, 0.76%, 0.71%, 0.78% 0.64%. After applying methods to balance the data, the model yielded a ROC-AUC score for each emergency code of 0.72%, 0.75%, 0.69%, 0.74%, 0.78%. In the last experiment consisting of a three-class classification problem, the NN-Sequential and Random Forest Tree models had similar metric outcomes, and the NN-Sequential algorithm had a ROC-AUC score for each emergency code of: 0.76%, 0.72%, 0.84%. Without any doubt, our research results presented in this paper endorse this tremendous curiosity in Machine Learning applications to enrich aspects of emergency medical care by applying specific methods for processing both medical data and medical records.

Real-Time Medical Data Security Solution for Smart Healthcare

Cyberattacks pose a serious threat to the wireless transfer of sensitive healthcare data, hampering the level of privacy offered. Numerous cyber-security modules have been developed. However, many of these methods are unsuitable for real-time medical data processing. In this study, we present a cybersecurity framework developed for medical images in a smart healthcare system. We propose two novel 2D chaotic maps, called the logistic regulated quadratic map (LRQ) and quadratic regulated quadratic map (QRQ), which have compound chaotic properties and a large chaotic range. We present an encryption technique based on the LRQ and QRQ map and demonstrate that the exceedingly chaotic pseudo-random number (PRN) sequence generated by the maps results in a highly robust cipher image. Our fast cryptosystem can encrypt an image of size 128×128 in approximately 0.03 seconds. The proposed cybersecurity solution protects data against cyberattacks and ensures a seamless treatment experience.

The key benefit of AI in processing of medical big data offers spectacular insights into the hierarchal relationships that exist among data which can be algorithmically explored thus replacing the tedious manual processes to extract and localize specific areas of interests in medical images thus considerably changing the way medicine has been practiced so far. In bio medical related clinical applications, there is a constant demand pertaining the research and development with respect to deploying AI as a mainstream tool to perform several medical imaging activities like analysis, diagnosis, segmentation as well as classification. The increased usage of electronic health records and medical images being its integral component the need for appropriate and efficient AI assisted medical image analysis system that takes care of accurate and automated decision making could be of great help to radiologists and medical practitioners. Molecular image analysis is a dynamic field that makes use of ML and DL algorithms that utilizes labeled and structured information which also proves to be helpful to the patients as they serve as an initial interface before further diagnosis and treatments. Thus our research aims to offer a novel and efficient AI based medical analysis system that can assist clinical practitioners to focus on enhancing the disease diagnosis through DL based medical image analysis and decision making. In addition, we also address specific challenges related to disease diagnosis and propose novel GAN model for improved diagnosis and implementation. Our proposed technique can also be generalized to generate synthetic data for further issues related to molecular image analysis in the field of medicine and help towards building a better disease diagnosis model.

Software system of automatic identification and distributed storage of patient medical data

Due to the rapid development of information technologies, informatization in the medical industry is essential. The main component of electronic health care is medical information systems designed for the accumulation, processing, analysis and transmis-sion of medical data. In the medical field, specialized software products are used to per-form diagnostic studies, process the results of laboratory tests, and make decisions at the stage of establishing a diagnosis. The use of mobile devices in medical information systems is developing. However, the degree of automation of processes in the provision of medical services and the protection of the personal and medical data of patients is still insufficient. The purpose of the research is to create a basic architecture of a software system that would simplify the process of developing software for automated input, processing, search and confidential patient access to their medical data in a medical information system based on multi-color barcoding of information using mobile devices. The architecture of the software system is proposed, in which, based on the princi-ples of distribution, anonymization, and data ownership, a patient can provide access to medical personnel to their medical data by reading a multi-color interference-resistant barcode from one smartphone (patient’s) by the camera of another smartphone (doctor’s). It is shown that in order to ensure the reliability of such transmission, it is neces-sary to use an interference-resistant barcode, which would ensure the integrity of the data in the conditions of possible distortion of the barcode image (change in lighting, scanning angle, trembling of the operator's hand, blurring or skewing of the image, etc.). The use of mobile devices for the barcode method of transmission and processing of data allows providing the protected electronic co-operating of a patient and a doctor both directly and remotely. It guarantees high reliability and confidentiality of the ex-change of data. The proposed technical solutions make it possible to improve the quality of medi-cal care and strengthen the protection of the patient's medical data.

Carimas: An Extensive Medical Imaging Data Processing Tool for Research.

Carimas is a multi-purpose medical imaging data processing tool, which can be used to visualize, analyze, and model different medical images in research. Originally, it was developed only for positron emission tomography data in 2009, but the use of this software has extended to many other tomography imaging modalities, such as computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Carimas is especially well-suited for analysis of three- and four-dimensional image data and creating polar maps in modeling of cardiac perfusion. This article explores various parts of Carimas, including its key features, program structure, and application possibilities.

Smart healthcare system using integrated and lightweight ECC with private blockchain for multimedia medical data processing.

Cloud-based Healthcare 4.0 systems have research challenges with secure medical data processing, especially biomedical image processing with privacy protection. Medical records are generally text/numerical or multimedia. Multimedia data includes X-ray scans, Computed Tomography (CT) scans, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans, etc. Transferring biomedical multimedia data to medical authorities raises various security concerns. This paper proposes a one-of-a-kind blockchain-based secure biomedical image processing system that maintains anonymity. The integrated Healthcare 4.0 assisted multimedia image processing architecture includes an edge layer, fog computing layer, cloud storage layer, and blockchain layer. The edge layer collects and sends periodic medical information from the patient to the higher layer. The multimedia data from the edge layer is securely preserved in blockchain-assisted cloud storage through fog nodes using lightweight cryptography. Medical users then safely search such data for medical treatment or monitoring. Lightweight cryptographic procedures are proposed by employing Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) with Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) and Elliptic Curve Digital Signature (ECDS) algorithm to secure biomedical image processing while maintaining privacy (ECDSA). The proposed technique is experimented with using publically available chest X-ray and CT images. The experimental results revealed that the proposed model shows higher computational efficiency (encryption and decryption time), Peak to Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR), and Meas Square Error (MSE).

Multi-modal IoT-based medical data processing for disease diagnosis using Heuristic-derived deep learning

Nowadays, the quick development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has changed our lifestyle. However, disease diagnosis is a difficult task owing to managing an enormous volume of data. Thus, in this research task, the latest IoT-assisted disease detection model for healthcare applications is developed. Initially, the patient data are taken from the IoT sensor devices in image, text, and signal data. The gathered patient data is further forward to the pre-processing phase. Accordingly, the images are gathered from patients’ data using IoT devices and forward to the feature extraction process. Feature extraction is done based on the IoT-collected images using VGG16 and Inception network. Moreover, the signals are garnered from the patient’s data and fed to the decomposition procedure. It is done by Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) technique. Then, the optimal feature selection of data, images, and signals is carried out by a hybrid algorithm termed Mating Probability-based Hybrid Strider Glowworm Swarm Optimization (MP-HSGSO). Finally, the Radial Basis Recurrent Neural Network (RBRNN) using MP-HSGSO is suggested to get the detected outcomes. Here, various brain diseases have been detected to classify the disease. This designed RBRNN method is utilized for efficient treatment, and also it provides the appropriate decision-making through processing various kinds of multimodal data. Throughout the simulation outcomes, the accuracy and precision of the offered method achieve 97 % and 96 %. Consequently, the simulation outcome of the offered method is proved that the designed model using a deep learning model shows enriched performance in clinical trial applications.

Medical digital data is an integral part of healthcare and is increasingly becoming a daily routine. The digital age has brought with it many new opportunities, such as accessing medical data in real time, storing it in vast databases and using it to inform decisions. However, these advances raise ethical questions about how data is managed and used by whom. The article explores the need for practical ethics in the processing of medical data, and sets out key principles and considerations. The study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the ethical and psychological implications of medical data management practices in the digital age, including the potential advantages and disadvantages of these practices. By examining these issues from a psychological perspective, the study aims to provide valuable insights on how to balance the benefits of using medical data with the need to protect people's rights.

Cluster Partitions Optimization Using the Latent Class Analysis Technique

The paper explores the formation of a cluster partition using a system of bundles of vectors. Each object is represented by a vector with coordinates corresponding to its characteristic factors. The study focuses on the principles of changes in the total density of these bundles when objects move from one cluster to another. Based on the findings, an algorithm is proposed to reduce the total intracluster variance of the initial cluster partition.&#x0D; The proposed algorithm is based on a modern technique for analyzing latent classes. This technique emphasizes that the forming factors of objects within each cluster should be highly correlated. Since the number of forming factors is arbitrary, the algorithm replaces this requirement with the maximum possible proximity of object factor vectors to the average vector within each cluster. The degree of this closeness is referred to as the tightness of the cluster vector bundle.&#x0D; The paper also introduces a new method for quantifying clusters in the improvable clustering constructed using the proposed algorithm. A practical example of the algorithm's application to process medical data is presented. The study discusses the reasons for the dependence of the algorithm's outcome on the choice of initial cluster partition.

Method of diagnosing some diseases of the neuro-muscular system and features of data processing in software

Electromyostimulation is a method of restorative treatment based on electrical stimulation of nerves and muscles. The electric current, which is used in electrical stimulation to obtain induced muscle contractions, is characterized by a large number of different parameters. However, not every possible option of electrical stimulation is highly effective. To solve the task of diagnosing some diseases of the neuromuscular system, it is important to organize the software by analyzing the parameters of the evoked potentials. Therefore, the object of research is the processes of skeletal muscle contraction under the influence of natural electrical pulses of the nervous system or under the influence of external electrical stimulation. The subject of research is models describing the processes in muscles during contraction and methods of data processing. In the course of the study, such research methods as mathematical modeling methods and methods of processing medical and biological data were used. The paper examines the experimental strength-duration dependence of skeletal muscle and obtained mathematical models for the normal state of the neuromuscular apparatus and different degrees of denervation. On the basis of electrodiagnosis of a patient with impaired motor functions, the dynamics of changes in the patient's condition and the effectiveness of treatment were traced. Based on the results of the study, an analysis of the parameters of the evoked potentials of the stimulation electromyogram during adaptive electrostimulation was carried out in order to control its effectiveness or establish a diagnosis in some diseases of the neuromuscular system. This made it possible to develop a method for correcting errors in the interpretation of one of the quality parameters and increase the reliability of the diagnosis. The obtained results can be used in the improvement of technical devices for electrostimulation therapy, as well as control of the effectiveness of rehabilitation procedures.
