Transformation of History Learning in the Digital Era: Application of Riau Local History as an Interactive Educational Media

This project aims to create an interactive teaching tool for studying local history, particularly Riau history, using digital technology. The transformation of learning driven by technological developments in the digital era has raised the need for more interesting and relevant learning methods that meet the needs of today’s students. The developed application, Riauxplore, integrates multimedia features such as videos, animations, and interactive quizzes to increase students’ interest in learning about local history. Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) Model is the research methodology employed. The test involving grade VII students was carried out at SMPN 1 Tempuling, Riau. The Paired Sample T-Test results showed a significant increase in students' interest in learning using the Riauxplore application with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000, less than 0.05, so H0 was rejected, and Ha was accepted. The average pre-test score of students in the experimental class was 70.56, and the post-test was 84.12, which showed an increase of 13.56. In addition to giving pupils a deeper understanding of local history, this application aids in accomplishing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to high-quality education and cultural preservation. This application provides an innovative way of learning that integrates technology with local history materials. By providing easy access to relevant history learning resources, the app supports a more inclusive and equitable educational process.

On the role of toponymic commemorative practices in the research and preservation of disappeared names of geographical objects

INTRODUCTION. The problem of research and preservation of disappeared names of geographical objects through toponymic commemorative practices is considered. An analysis is given of the activities of mass communications, thanks to which the memory of bygone toponyms is passed on to future generations of residents of the country as a whole and individual regions, and the local toponymic martyrology is regularly updated with new names. The purpose of the study is to identify the role of toponymic commemorative practices in the study and preservation of disappeared names of geographical objects located on the territory of the Russian Federation.MATERIALS AND METHODS. Using specific examples from the experience of the Voronezh Region on the successful implementation of toponymic commemorative practices, their main types are considered, recommendations are given to public authorities and local governments on how to work in this direction. The empirical base of the study consists of alphabetical lists of geographical names of previously existing settlements registered in the automated state catalog of geographical names, publications in the media and in scientific publications.RESULTS AND DISCUSSION. It is shown that the main types of toponymic commemorative practices can be the installation of commemorative signs, information plaques, chapels, monuments on the site of disappeared settlements, the publication of relevant local history materials, works of art and memoirs of former residents of these settlements in regional and district media, the holding of mass cultural and historical events.CONCLUSION. Communication practices are a reliable channel for preserving the memory of disappeared settlements and their names and transmitting relevant historical and toponymic information to subsequent generations of Russians. To this end, the state authorities and local governments of the subjects of the Russian Federation are recommended to apply toponymic commemorative practices in their activities.

Meningkatkan Kesadaran Budaya Dalam Pendekatan CRT (Culturally Responsive Teaching) Pada Pembelajaran Sejarah Di Kelas X 1 SMA Negeri 1 Medan Tahun Pelajaran 2023/2024

This research aims to increase cultural awareness in class X 1 students at SMA Negeri 1 Medan through a culturally responsive teaching approach to history learning material. This research uses Classroom Action Research (PTK) with several stages including: planning, action or implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research were 23 class X 1 students at SMA Negeri 1 Medan using quantitative data analysis. The research results showed that cycle I provided an explanation of local history material to students. In applying local history material, students ask questions about the material so that it fosters students' curiosity. Cycle II provides exposure to local historical material as well as carrying out vlog assignments to visit historical buildings to increase cultural awareness. From the results obtained, 43.5% of students gave their cultural awareness a slight increase while 56.5% of students gave the answer that their cultural awareness increased slightly.

Pemikiran Mangunegara VII (1916-1944) dan Relevansi Terhadap Pembelajaran Sejarah Lokal

Mangkunegara VII had a modernist thought which was then realized by collaborating culture from the eastern region with culture from the western region, which would later become a form of new cultural transformation. The author uses historical research methods which include four things namely heuristics, criticism or verification, interpretation, and historiography. This research produces several findings, including Mangkunegara VII's role in the development of Javanese culture in 1916-1944, the revival of Mangkunegara VII's Javanese culture, the function of Javanese cultural revivalism discourse, and the relevance of Mangkunegara VII's thoughts as local history material. Mangkunegara VII's personal experience while studying at the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy Rijks Universiteit, Leiden greatly influenced his role in developing Javanese culture from 1916 to 1944. The experience opened Mangkunegara VII's horizons to the outside world and made him realize the gap in quality of life between home and the Netherlands. With his modern lifestyle and open-mindedness, Mangkunegara VII led several modern developments in Javanese culture.

Патриотическое воспитание в образовательной среде педагогического вуза

The social, economic, demographic, and geopolitical challenges that various spheres of our society are facing today largely contribute to the aggravation of issues in the modern national education system. Unification as a strategic goal of globalization causes an increase in threats to national values and sovereign education systems. Today, it is vital to pay close attention to the organization of patriotic education in pedagogical universities, since students are comprehensively trained for future teaching activities with educational work as the most important component. The training of specialists at a pedagogical university should be aimed at the formation not only theoretical knowledge, but also the skills and abilities necessary for the successful solution of educational tasks in educational institutions of various types. The purpose of the research is to identify existing issues in the system of modern patriotic education, as well as to comprehend the experience of organizing patriotic education of students at a pedagogical university. Results: it is revealed that the existing challenges in the organization of patriotic education can be eliminated in the process of designing educational work in a pedagogical university based on local history material.

Internet Representative Offices of Libraries in the Period of Social Shocks in Ukraine: Theme Of Content

The purpose of the article is to highlight the online representation of Ukrainian libraries in the conditions of quarantine restrictions and martial law, to analyze the subject of the presented content. The methodological basis of the article was institutional, systemic, structural-functional and socio-communication approaches. Analysis, cognitive, synthesis, generalization and librarian methods are also applied. The scientific novelty of the study consists in arguing for the adaptation of the functioning of Ukrainian libraries in the conditions of quarantine restrictions and martial law of the library of Ukraine, when they reoriented their work to a remote form and offered online services and electronic products, actively started blogs, pages in social networks and created YouTube channels. Conclusions. On the website, blogs, pages of social networks, in a difficult period of social upheavals, the libraries of Ukraine cover both news of library life, as well as educational, entertainment, information, and local history materials. The bibliographic, factographic, and multimedia products created help to represent the cultural life of communities, creative, literary, and cultural achievements of prominent regions and present the best assets of Ukraine to the world. The epidemic, and then the full-scale war, put Ukrainian libraries in a situation where it is necessary to quickly respond to the urgent needs of society and do it mainly with the help of online services. This is what became for the majority a test of viability and stability, of professionalism and demand. During this time, most of the important and necessary resources were created, blogs, pages were launched in various social networks, YouTube channels were established, and new information technologies and products were actively introduced into library processes. Ukrainian libraries will be in demand and useful only through active development in the digital age. Multicultural Education Based On Local History Material Of The Islamic Sultanate In West Kalimantan

The development of multicultural education in post-reform Indonesia is against the backdrop of a very plural and heterogeneous region in Indonesia. It is hoped that this study can be a solution to maintain social harmony. This writing aims to describe: (1) How local content is the basis of multicultural education, (2) how history is related to multicultural education, (3) how multicultural education is taught in schools.
 This writing uses a form of descriptive writing through literature study related to the chosen topic. Based on the results of the data search obtained, the following conclusions can be drawn. First, local content can become a formal basis for implementing multicultural education based on history and culture as stated in the regulations of the Minister of Education and Culture. The aim is to develop students' abilities related to the environment in the social, cultural and artistic fields. Second, history has a close and intimate relationship with multiculturalism. Existing culture is the result of growth and development in the past, so to know and recognize it, it is necessary to look at history. Multicultural education is seen as a way to convey diversity, plurality and tolerance through educational channels. Third, multicultural education is in line with the development of local history studies. So that the two can fuse and then be integrated as a local charge. It is given by inserting a periodization of the history of the Islamic sultanate into history subject.

SOVIET PLAN FOR THE REFORMATION OF RURAL AREAS ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE VERKHNYAYA TROITSA VILLAGE, TVER REGION

The article analyses the changes caused by the Soviet plans to transform the countryside, considering a specific example of a settlement in the Tver (former Kalinin) region. In the 1970s the studied village of the Verkhnyaya Troitsa was classified as a “viable” one; it was also included in a small number of villages chosen as “experimental and demonstrative”. Among the reasons for the close attention by the Soviet authorities was the fact that the village was a birthplace of M.I. Kalinin - the famous Soviet political figure. On the basis of statistical data, local history materials and our own field studies, a “portrait” of the Verkhnyaya Troitsa village was compiled for each of the four identified stages, i. e. pre-revolutionary, pre-war, late Soviet and modern. The dualistic consequences of the projects implemented during the Soviet period are shown. On the one hand, an ordinary village has become a large rural center; on the other hand, the remaining industrial and social facilities do not meet modern needs.

USE OF TOPONYMS OF THE WESTERN AND SOUTHERN PODILLIA IN EXCURSION ACTIVITIES (TERNOPIL REGION)

The article emphasizes the importance of awakening national consciousness and patriotism through the organization and provision of excursion services based on local history material. It is important to involve the young generation in researching and learning about the region, for the sake of expanding its national memory and outlook, awakening pride in its past and future, and understanding Ukrainian identity. The geographical and historical features of the origin of the names of selected settlements of the Ternopil region, their meaning, development, current state, spelling and pronunciation have been studied. The toponymy of the Ternopil region is extremely rich and unexplored at the same time and has many prospects for its use for the implementation of excursion activities. For toponymic research, tourism workers can use a geographical map, archival and literary materials, and official reference sources. In the course of this study, the origin of the names of the most interesting for tourist and excursion activities, settlements of the Ternopil region, which are located directly on excursion routes or close to their passage, is described. Also, an important criterion for the selection of these settlements was the interesting features of historical, natural or human factors that influenced the formation of their names, which makes it possible to acquaint the users of excursion services with the history of Ternopil Oblast through its reflection of the geography and history of the region in these names. This information makes it possible to fill the tour guide's story, as an important component of the tour, with interesting material along the entire tour route and makes it possible to implement various methods of the tour method. Recommendations are given for improving the methodology of conducting any excursion using the research material. The article emphasizes the relevance of such local history and toponymic research in modern society, which makes it possible to get acquainted with the history of settlements in the Ternopil region, to study the peculiarities of the formation of the names of cities and villages of the region due to many factors, among which geographical and historical factors take the main position. Motivating and involving young people in such knowledge of the region for the sake of expanding their national memory and outlook is also relevant. DIGITAL MEDIA IMPLEMENTATION IN 21st CENTURY IPS LEARNING AT SD NEGERI 2 TANJUNG KUKUH OGAN KOMERING ULU TIMUR

Digital-based learning media is a medium used to create audio-visual media. Digital media is very suitable for use in social studies learning in the 21st century. In the 21st century students are expected to be able to master 21st century skills with the 4C concept of communication, collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving, creative and innovative. The objectives of this study are 1) Knowing the steps for implementing digital media in 21st century social studies learning, 2) implementing digital media in 21st century social studies learning, and 3) evaluating the implementation of digital media using SWOT analysis in 21st century social studies learning. The research method used is qualitative by using the results of data analysis in the form of qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the research can be seen in the SWOT analysis which shows that the advantages of implementing digital media in social studies learning really need to be applied in the 21st century. Weaknesses in this study can be seen when observing students' attitudes in social studies learning on local history material regarding the role of local figures in fighting for Indonesian independence. Most of the students are still a lot preoccupied with themselves so that the center of attention is not fully paying attention to the future. In addition, it is a challenge for students to be able to express opinions and be more active. MOTIVATIONAL COMPONENT OF MATHEMATICS TEXTBOOKS FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL (THE BEGINNING OF THE 21ST CENTURY)

The article analyzes the motivational component of mathematics textbooks for students of grades 2–4 at the beginning of the 21st century, the author of which is the well-known Ukrainian researcher and methodologist M. Bohdanovych. It is significant that these textbooks were used as alternative textbooks by most primary school teachers in Ukraine during the specified period. The analysis was carried out according to our elaborated methodology for studying the motivational component of textbooks designed for younger schoolchildren, which includes the following components: emotionality of the content of the educational material; ways of its didactic organization; textbook design. Ways to implement the motivational function of mathematics textbooks at the beginning of the 21st century for primary school have been described. It was done according to the first component which is the most productive and gives a general idea of the motivational component of the textbook. In particular, mathematics textbooks of the beginning of the 21st century were analyzed according to the criterion of “selection of information taking into account students’ cognitive interests”, which is detailed in the corresponding indicators. In the process of analysis, the positive characteristics of these educational books were established (the presence of characters in the plots of mathematical problems, things and activities that are valuable and close to children’s sensory experience, interesting tasks and mathematical problems with fairy-tale plots, etc.). Also, the shortcomings were indicated. These include insufficient number of the previously mentioned tasks, elements of humor, historical information, “curiosity” sections, etc.). On the basis of the obtained results, scientific and methodological recommendations were formulated regarding the strengthening of the motivational component of textbooks designed for younger schoolchildren.
 The specified recommendations offer specific instructions on improving the content of the mathematical problems plots to strengthen their motivational orientation, in particular on increasing the number of characters that are attractive to children, objects that children often use in everyday life and which are valueable for them, and types of personally meaningful activities, performed by the protagonists of the tasks, as well as mathematical problems with original and fairy-tale plots; approximate examples of mathematical problems with a natural plot and information on interesting statistics and agriculture are given. It is also proposed to include material in the “curiosity” rubrics in mathematics textbooks, the author provides the tips on the effective use of other means of motivational influence: elements of humor, historical information, prominent people’s quotes, information on comparative linguistics and etymology, local history material, folk traditions and customs, written and oral folklore. The expediency of using the mentioned recommendations in the process of creating modern mathematics textbooks and books on other educational subjects is substantiated..

V. V. Velyaminov-Zernov on Islam: Ryazan Local Lore Studies of the 19th Century

The article analyzes the four-volume work of the orientalist of the XIX century V. V. Velyaminov-Zernov “Research on the Kasimov tsars and tsarevichs” (1863–1887), dedicated to the history of the Kasimov Khanate. The main attention is paid to the local history material about the city of Kasimov of the 17–19th centuries, including its Muslim district. The paper reveals novelty of the scientist’s approaches to history of Kasimov Tatar community. The first paragraph examines the conclusions of V. V. Velyaminov-Zernov regarding medieval fortresses located around Kasimov, the scientist concludes that these fortresses belonged to Tatar rulers during the period of the Kasimov Khanate. The second paragraph reveals the orientalist’s views on Orthodox-Muslim interaction in Kasimov in the 17–18th centuries. According to V. V. Velyaminov-Zernov, until the beginning of the 17th century there were two equivalent authorities in the city: the voivodeship court and the court of the Kasimov rulers. The article considers the history of Tatar heritage in Kasimov. The third paragraph is devoted to the 19th century. Velyaminov-Zernov’s research is useful for local historians dealing with the history of the Ryazan region.

Sociocultural space of the Penza region during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945)

The subject of the research is the study of the content, forms and methods of practical activity of cultural organizations, associations of the Penza region and creative workers during the Great Patriotic War at the front and in the rear, as well as socio-cultural interaction in order to form patriotic sentiments. Special attention is paid to the coverage of the activities of cultural institutions of the Penza Region, creative associations, as well as the work of the authorities to achieve the goals and objectives of ensuring the preservation of a high level of socio-psychological motivation of the Soviet population in the fight against the Nazi invaders.The study is also a collection, generalization and updating of local history material on the transformation of cultural life of the Penza region caused by evacuation processes. Within the framework of the work, new historical sources that were not previously involved in scientific circulation are published, to study the socio-cultural space and creativity of cultural figures of the Penza region during the Great Patriotic War as a system of interaction and education of patriotism, adaptation strategies of the Soviet man in the conditions of mobilization and extreme living conditions. The thesis is substantiated that the response of art workers to the needs of wartime was not just a formal execution of a state order, but an internal call, a philosophically grounded meaningful action of each employee. It was the inner desire to be useful during the war, coupled with creative potential and a sincere desire for self-realization, that became a vivid example of the manifestation of spiritual and moral values traditional for our Fatherland. The material collected and analyzed in the work can be used in research work, in the preparation of teaching aids, in university and school training courses, including local history, as well as in the work of museums and in the preparation of scientific literature. The methodological basis of the work was logical, historical-logical, system-structural, socio-cultural, comparative-legal, generalization, commenting method.

ОСОБЛИВОСТІ ВИВЧЕННЯ ГЕОГРАФІЇ АДМІНІСТРАТИВНОГО РАЙОНУ У ЗАКЛАДАХ ЗАГАЛЬНОЇ СЕРЕДНЬОЇ ОСВІТИ (НА ПРИКЛАДІ ЖИТОМИРСЬКОГО РАЙОНУ ЖИТОМИРСЬКОЇ ОБЛАСТІ)

The purpose of the work. The purpose of the study is to develop a methodology for using materials that describe the geography of administrative districts in general educational institutions (on the example of the Zhytomyr district of the Zhytomyr region). The method of work. The research methodology is based on an integrated approach to scientific research, which involves the interaction of several scientific areas: geographical and historical, landscape-constructive, socio-economic, environmental and statistical. At the same time, the dialectical method was used, which makes it possible to analyze and interpret scientific data. The method of synthesis of the available material made it possible to study it in the physical-geographical, socio-economic and methodological directions, thereby revealing the problem in a comprehensive manner. As a result, it is possible to deepen and expand students' knowledge of the nature, population and economy of the region, to make them more accurate and complete. Scientific novelty Local history materials can be used in school geography curricula and there are a number of relevant lessons. Local folklore materials are the best visual aids for studying the curriculum in geography, their use allows you to consolidate the cognitive activity of students and develop a commitment to their native land. The use of local history materials is especially important when studying topics in physical geography, since they can show complex natural patterns, relationships and interdependencies between the components of the natural complex. This paper proposes a new research method and approach that takes into account the geographical features of the administrative districts of the Zhytomyr region. Practical meaning. The author of the study suggested using innovative teaching methods in teaching geography in secondary schools and studying local history. The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that the material and results can be used for further development of didactic means of using local history material in geography lessons in educational institutions, for students to comprehend the physical-geographical and socio-economic features of the territory of the Zhytomyr region, for the further development of theory and methodology Teaching Geography in General Educational Institutions.

SOVIET ANTI-RELIGIOUS PRACTICES THROUGH THE PRISM OF TEACHERS' MEMORIES

The article analyzes the Soviet public policy of «scientific atheism». The analysis was carried out on the basis of oral historical narratives, archival documents, local history materials. It is noted that in the second half of the 20th century the main way of fighting against religion and the church was mass atheistic propaganda. It was justified by the political doctrine of «scientific atheism» and reinforced by a system of state-administrative pressure. With the help of propaganda, the Soviet intellectual elite created an image of the church as an «internal enemy» in order to use it in the process of forming an imaginary community called the «Soviet people». The territorial boundaries of the publication were delineated by the Lviv, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, on the territories of which the memories were recorded. Attention is given to the textual analysis of memories, which in turn is oriented to the reproduction of the meaning that the teachers placed on their specific life experience today, as well as to the study of the sequence in which the events are arranged in the narrative now, in the present time. It is important in this context to understand the structural difference between what the narrators experienced and what they told, as well as to consider the narrative as containing purely contemporary interpretations and evaluations of the narrators. The article examines how former teachers recall the «struggle against religion», aimed at the atheization of society and their (co)relation to this policy. It describes the involvement of teachers in anti-religious practices which was a sign of the Soviet era, through the organization of educational and educational processes in such a way, to prevent schoolchildren from freely visiting temples or celebrating religious holidays. It was concluded that memories of participation in anti-religious practices reveal a deep psychological discomfort in former teachers, so they resort to psychological defense mechanisms, describing themselves as hostages of their chosen profession, as well as sufficiently formal fulfillment of the requirements of atheist education. Історична пам’ять як складова змісту вищої історичної освіти

Authors analyze the principles of the formation of content of historical education for the specialty 032 History and Archeology students at the bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The deployment of invasion in Ukraine became a reason for the aggravation of the problem of protecting one’s own historical and cultural heritage, national culture and historical memory. It was determined that competency-based approach to modern higher education involves the preparation of students for independent professional activity, including independent scientific and research studies. One of the aspects of the professional competence of a historian is the preservation of the historical memory of the Ukrainian people, which performs a number of functions: information, identification, value orientation, world outlook. The formation of students’ historical memory occurs during the study of a number of mandatory and optional educational components by including significant topics in the thematic plan, which may have signs of the so-called „hidden curriculum”. The authors emphasize the study of the fate and activities of outstanding personalities, in particular, the pedagogical system of the Kharkiv region in the first half of the 20-th century, ethnographic and local history material, historical narratives, meanings and symbols.

Краеведческий аспект дореволюционной журналистики (на примере публикаций Б.П. Княжинского)

Over time, local history materials do not become obsolete, but, on the contrary, become even more relevant. In this regard, the study of local history topics of the pre-revolutionary press can eliminate white spots in the study of regions. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the contribution of the doctor and publicist B.P. Knyazhinskiy in the development of Tambov local history. We apply the principle of historicism, a systematic approach, the content analysis method of the content. We analyze the historical essay “Ancient Usmansky Assumption Maiden Monastery”. It is noted that the Diocesan Gazette, in which the essay was published, performed an enlightening and educational function in pre-revolutionary Russia within the framework of the mass media system, and the clergy played a progressive function in the regional community. We reveal the local history value of the essay and its research nature associated with the use of documentary and scientific sources of that time. B.P. Knyazhinsky’s publication about the history of the convent in the 17th–18th centuries, revealing aspects of the life of the population of Usman itself, expands the possibilities of using the essay in modern regional historiography. The study results can be used to further study the history of the Tambov region and neighboring territories, as well as to fully describe the media system in the region.

Joseph Brodsky's journey through Central Asia

This article is devoted to the analysis of unique materials about the little-known journey of the Nobel Prize winner, the famous poet, playwright, translator Joseph Brodsky in Central Asia. The author, using the memoirs, literary works of the poet, covering his journey through the Central Asian region, including Alma-Ata and Alma-Ata region in 1960, comes to the conclusion that in order to attract more tourists within the framework of insider and incoming, it is necessary to create original tours and excursions based on similar local history materials that reveal the uniqueness of the region. Based on this information, which has scientific and practical potential for creating new tours in the region, local tour operators can create tours and excursions that have a serious potential to become branded for fans of the world famous poet.
