Representations of Jewelry as a Source of Metaphorization in the Modern Russian Linguistic Picture of the World

Purpose. The article describes the linguocultural specifics of metaphorization of general representations of jewelry in the Russian linguistic picture of the world. The relevance of the topic is related to the use of lexemes with the root jewel- in various contexts based on metaphorization and figurative representation of heterogeneous phenomena. The purpose of the research is to determine main directions of metaphorization in the semantic field «Jewelry» based on lexicographic data and contexts from the «National Corpus of the Russian Language». The sample consists of 144 examples with metaphorical meaning of the lexemes jeweler, jeweled and jewelry selected from the National Corpus of the Russian Language.Results. Contextual analysis and analysis of conceptual metaphor identified 6 main slots representing the basis for metaphorization.Conclusion. The metaphorization with the source jewel- in the Russian linguistic picture of the world describes not only qualities of a jeweler, but also the process and the result of jewelry work. The signs associated with the process and the results of jewelry work are the basis for metaphorization in most cases. Metaphorical contexts of «General representations of jewelry» predominantly reflect a positive evaluation, even while describing a criminal act, the emphasis is on accuracy and invisibility taken as positive aspects of this activity.

Animals of the Mustelid Family in the Linguistic Picture of the World of the Altaians

Purpose. The article describes zoonyms of the Altai language and folklore denoting mustelids, representatives of the fauna of the Altai Mountains. This lexical-semantic group of lexemes in the Altai linguistic culture has not been thoroughly studied yet. The identification of the lexical potential of zoonyms denoting mammals of the mustelid family provide information about the etymology, dialect variants, donative and connotative features that express ideas about those animals in the language and folklore of the Altaians, and their mythological context of use.Results. Lexical meanings of zoonyms have been identified and established: agas /aas ‘ermine’, kish ‘sable’, borsuk ‘badger’, jeeken ‘wolverine’, saras ‘kolinsky’, ‘weasel’, kushkuly/kalazak ‘weasel’, suzar ‘marten’, ‘mink’, toktonok ‘weasel’. Of these, the general Turkic layer of vocabulary includes: agas ‘ermine’, suzar ‘marten’, kish ‘sable’, borsuk ‘badger’, küzen/joonmoiyn ‘ferret’, jeeken ‘wolverine’. Denotative and connotative features that characterize animals are presented in various folklore and literary texts that provide information about their color, body structure, habitat, and their habits.Conclusion. In the religious and mythological picture of the world of the Altaians, such animals as kish/albaa ‘sable’, agas ‘ermine’ were revered totem animals. In relation to these animals, there were certain rules of behavior during the hunt. These factors influenced the development of a system of euphemisms in the language of hunters, formed with the help of such linguistic means of objectifying concepts as metaphor and metonymy.

WHAT IS THE LINGUISTIC PICTURE OF A WORLD IN COGNITIVE LINGUISTICS?

This article delves into the fascinating world of cognitive linguistics, an interdisciplinary field that explores the intricate relationship between language, thought, and conceptualization. Like a vibrant tapestry woven with threads from cognition, pragmatics, and function, cognitive linguistics views language as a powerful cognitive tool, encoding and transmitting information through symbols and signs. Within the depths of the human mind, concepts take shape, forming a mosaic of interconnected ideas that find expression in the rich tapestry of language. Cultural experiences, customs, and historical contexts add hues and shades to this linguistic picture, creating a diverse and captivating conceptosphere that reflects the beauty and complexity of our shared human experience.

Phonology from the Inside Out: Constructed Language as a Pedagogical Tool

Abstract This paper reflects on a project-based curriculum employing constructed languages to teach linguistics, with a focus on phonology. In a special topics linguistics course, nine students were led through the construction of a language. While students in introductory linguistics courses sometimes struggle with phonology, active engagement with a semester-long language construction project endowed these students with the practical motivation to understand (1) what phonology is, (2) how phonological rules work, and (3) why rules surface in the first place. They readily captured generalizations based on natural classes of sounds, recognizing the systematicity of their constructed phonology. Student performance and engagement in this course support the use of constructed languages as a pedagogical tool in linguistics. Because an ongoing project builds in problem-solving opportunities and processual thinking, highlighting relationships among key concepts, students achieve a more comprehensive understanding of core areas in the broader linguistic picture.

The pragmatism of emotional-expressive words in Kazakh linguistics: A study of M. Auezov’s ‘The Way of Abai’

Abstract The issue of the research of emotional lexemes is conditioned upon pragmatic relations, which constitute an important basis in the definition of expressive language units. The purpose of the research is to analyse features of emotional and expressive linguistic units, considering the cognitive and linguistic nature of words in M. Auezov’s work ‘The Way of Abai.’ The methods used to achieve the research objectives were: generalization, axiomatic, content analysis, and comparative analysis. The results of the work have determined that using words depends on a different range of emotions, where a particular situation influences the traditions and perceptions of the period concerned, developing a linguistic picture of the world. The practical significance of the research is in using the results of the research by linguists, experts, and specialists in the field of pedagogy and linguistics.

Structural and Semantic Peculiarities of the English Phraseological Units with the Component «an Item of Kitchenware»

The article studies the semantics of the English phraseological units that contain components from the thematic group «kitchenware» and also singles out the most common components – the names of the items of cutlery in the phraseological units. The relevance of studying this group of phraseological units, which has not yet been the subject of a separate study, is conditioned by the fact that preparing and eating food are the important parts of the cultural code of any people, encrypted, among other things, with the help of phraseological units of the language. Kitchenware being are tools, means and tools for preparing, consuming and aestheticizing the process of food consumption, contribute to the formation of cultural values of a linguistic community which are expressed, among other things, in the aesthetic and ethical norms of human behavior. Unlike linguistic units of other levels, phraseological units being units of secondary nomination, do not only contain accumulated information about the situations and events that occurred throughout the cultural and historical development of a particular linguistic community, but are also the building material of the secondary picture of the world. The semantics of phraseological units is a vivid expression of the national uniqueness of the linguistic picture of the world. As a result of the study, we divided the selected phraseological units into such phraseological groups as «versatility of human activity», «appearance, character and mental characteristics of a person», «financial situation of a person», «alcohol consumption and the consequences of this use», «food intake and consequences its intake», «various life situations». As a result of a quantitative analysis of the representation of components-names of utensils in phraseological units, we came to the conclusion that the most common components in phraseological units are the lexemes pot (26% of the studied units), bottle (14.5%), knife (13%), plate (10%), spoon (9%). We associate the prevalence of these components with the special role of the kitchen utensils, designated by the corresponding lexemes, in particular, a pot is a container for both cooking and storing food, a bottle is a container for drinks, which are also are included in the gluttonic sphere of human life, and a plate (plate) and a spoon (spoon) are the most important tools for eating. It was also revealed that the leading structural-semantic types of the studied phraseological units were nominative-communicative units (60% of the studied phraseological units) and nominative phraseological units (28% of the studied units).

LINGUOCOGNITIVE AND LINGUOCULTURAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE PROCESSES OF TERMINOLOGIZATION IN MODERN KAZAKH AND TURKISH LANGUAGES

The intensification of the activity of the Kazakh language in accordance with its state status in all spheres of society, the renewal of its potential strengthened the connection of the language with the form of linguistic consumption, began to influence the requirements of everyday practice. This is evident from the active process of terminology creation in the social, economic, political, scientific and technical spheres. In addition, the core of the neonominational process, which created the interrelationships of language~ society, language~consciousness, language ~ culture, etc., is not only scientific and informational, but also cultural and social content. This is the basis for improving not only the quantitative, but also the qualitative level of modern language development. Therefore, the recognition of the influence of language and culture on each other in the form of new terms and the function of language as a unique means of transmitting culture within the framework of cultural representation is especially relevant. Based on this, new names and terms in the Kazakh language, which also serve as a unique feature of the cognitive level of language users, are considered in the article as a “linguistic picture of the world” in accordance with the process of updating the language. In this regard, the purpose of this article is to compare and characterize the linguocognitive and linguocultural foundations of terminologization processes in modern Kazakh and Turkish languages. The following methods were used in the course of the study: descriptive, comparative, cognitive, ethnolinguistic and conceptual. Also, to determine the cultural and national component structured in the mind of a native speaker in a terminologized word, diachronic, contrasting, definitive were used, and discursive analysis, connotative approach, and motivation methods were used to recognize the process of terminologization. The value of the research: by describing and showing the linguocognitive and linguocultural foundations of terminologization processes in modern Kazakh and Turkish languages, we contribute to the improvement and strengthening of the “Turkic world”. The linguistic data and conclusions presented in the article can be used as practical and theoretical material for research by students, undergraduates, doctoral students and young people studying at the faculties of Philology, Translation Studies, Oriental Studies and Turkology.

Hyperfunctions of the Revival Text. On the Beginnings of the Modern Bulgarian Literary Language

This article is dedicated to the specificity of messages in texts from the Bulgarian National Revival period. The aim is to trace the complex relationship between content and speech in Revival texts. The paper presents current reflections related to the beginnings of the modern Bulgarian literary language, supporting a scientific hypothesis that has gained popularity in recent years. This hypothesis posits that the periodization of the modern Bulgarian literary language cannot be understood through the simple relationship of „from - to“ but must be entirely aligned with the dynamics of linguistic processes in their complex competition. At this stage, the idea of unfolding the reality of Revival texts through the lens of the relationship between the center and the periphery is proposed, with the emphasis being that, in view of the linguistic picture of the world, the boundaries between the two are not as clearly defined and tend to blur.

Rural anthroponyms in the shchuchin dialect of the Voronezh region

INTRODUCTION. The study is carried out in the context of the anthropocentric paradigm and is devoted to the topic of “Man”. Nickname nominations and their unique characteristics are considered. The relevance of studying the thematic group is associated with the observed processes of decreasing the number of dialect speakers, interest in the study of folk speech and the importance of registering the information available to villagers to build a certain linguistic picture. The aim of the study is to analyze unofficial anthroponyms of the small village of Shchuchye in the Liski district of the Voronezh region, reflected in the local dialect.MATERIALS AND METHODS. The field material is used to study the names of village people, functioning in the sphere of informal communication in the Voronezh dialect. Experimental (survey and observation) and descriptive (description and comparison) linguistic research methods are used.RESULTS AND DISCUSSION. The rural nomenclature includes groups of nickname units, the classification feature of which is the method of nomination, motivational feature and the nature of the derivative base. The emergence of unofficial anthroponyms is associated with the established norms of village communication. The Shchuchin mosaic of onomastic units includes male, female and family nicknames. Male anthroponyms predominate. It is postulated that productive ways of forming names are suffixal, truncation and substantiation.CONCLUSION. The customs of interpersonal provincial communication are quite strong. The original village nomenclature of the Shchuchintsy, depicted through folk speech combining southern Russian and Ukrainian features, is presented by 100 nickname units and represented by 21 groups. It demonstrates the original linguistic imagination of rural residents and is important not only for the dialectal anthroponymy of the 21st century, but also for Russian onomastics in general. The study may be continued by features reflecting other characteristics of unofficial names and their motivational features.

THE LINGUISTIC PICTURE OF THE WORLD IN THE KAZAKH FAIRY TALE: THE CONCEPT OF GOOD AND EVIL

The article considers the concept of «good» in Kazakh fairy tales. Revealing the worldview, behavior, and general character of a people means identifying the most important socio-psychological characteristics that have historically developed from the socio-economic system, way of life, existence, living conditions, etc. The formation of people’s national way of life is influenced by natural conditions, the world of plants and animals, which, in turn, determines the type of work they do, the system of traditions and customs. The linguistic picture of the world is a holistic, systematic reflection of reality, carried out using various linguistic means. The article examines the reflection of the fable «Good follows good, evil follows evil» in fairy tales, which was formed in the Kazakh worldview. It is studied as the basis of knowledge accumulated from the life experience of the people, and is subjected to scientific analysis based on the data of the fairy tale. When we study good and evil together, no matter what folk tale we take, there is no hero who gets his way by doing bad things. There will never be such a hero. It is believed that the opposition of good and evil is present in every language, in the linguistic image of every world. In the texts of folk tales there are sometimes multiple variations. This is natural, since folk tales have many different versions. In this case, one of the most important factors is that the fairy tale is easy to read and easily perceived. The difference between good and evil, which is still considered relevant today in the linguistic picture of the world in Kazakh fairy tales, and its definition through simple reflections of everyday life is easily illustrated with visual and specific data. BINARY OPPOSITION «RICH-POOR» IN KAZAKH AND ENGLISH LINGUACULTURES

In this study, binary oppositions are referred to be mechanisms for producing cultural notions that are indicated by lexical antonyms and represent both the Kazakh and English population's worldview and the language's conception of the universe. On the basis of an analysis of the materials and important cultural concepts from both countries, a sampling of binary oppositions was created. The findings of the comparative study allowed for the definition of key components of Kazakh and English ethnic cultures,which serve as basic components in the self-identification of both countries and aid in the reconstruction of their worldview. The purpose of this work is to identify the features of the national expression of the concepts of wealth and poverty in the Kazakh and English languages. To achieve the goal, the following tasks were set: 1.study of the concept of "proverbs" in the system of Linguistics, their role in creating a linguistic picture of the world. 2.selection, analysis and comparison of Kazakh and English proverbs and sayings. 3.identification of general and various features of the concepts of wealth and poverty in national characteristics, identification of the main features in the values and ideals of the Kazakh and English peoples in relationto these concepts.Research methods depend on the goals and objectives of the work. The work required the use of methods of sampling, comparison and descriptive analysis. The theoretical significance of the work is to identify the features of the national expression of the concepts of wealth and poverty in the Kazakh and English languages within the framework of the theory of cognitive linguistics. The practical significance of the work is that the results of the study can be used in teaching English in courses such as lexicology, phraseology, comparative typology, cognitive linguistics.

Этнокультурные особенности лингвокультуремы «французский сад» («jardin français»)

In less than a century, the stable concept of «French garden» is formed and consolidated, having become the result of the activity of very specific historical figures (André Lenôtre and Louis XIV) in the national consciousness of the French and in the language. The concept can be classified as a linguocultureme with a clearly expressed nationally colored semantic meaning. The article proposes to explore the ethnocultural features of the linguocultureme «French garden», as well as to determine its role and place in the national consciousness of the French, and to outline its influence on the formation of the French national picture of the world. The concept of «French garden» in the linguocultural aspect is not well-studied, which emphasizes the novelty of this work. The author conducts the research using a complex of scientific methods, including contextual-interpretive analysis, diachronic research, and analysis of linguistic and cultural objects. It is also worth noting that the author for the first time cites, in the author’s translation from French, primary sources of French scientific research and publications on the topic of landscape gardening, unknown to Russian readers. As a result of a comparison of theoretical generalization and analysis of linguistic material, the author comes to the conclusion that at certain stages of history, some concepts and traditions are formed in the collective consciousness of a nation, which can become elements of the cultural code and form the basis of the national linguistic picture of the world. Such a concept and a tradition stretching back centuries for the French is the desire to cultivate a garden, in which its aesthetic component acquires particular importance.

THE CONCEPT OF “TIME” IN BASHKIR PROVERBS AND ITS EQUIVALENTS-PROVERBS IN RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES

The article deals with the problem of similarity of paroemias with the concept of "time" on the material of Bashkir, English and Russian languages. The corpus of semantically equivalent proverbs in the languages under consideration is studied and the typology of interlanguage correspondences is determined. The studied topic of comparing proverbs in the analyzed languages is of considerable interest to linguists, folklorists and culturologists. The problem of the common and the special in the paroemias of different structured languages will determine aspects for further research on the issues of comparing proverbs. The categorization of the concept of "time" (its value, consequence, transience, loss, past, present and future) forms the semantic space and structure of the proverbial picture of the world. The value of human life in time and space is reflected in the paremic phrases and emphasizes the ethnocultural peculiarity of the Bashkir people. The identification of semantic parallels in three languages has practical significance in preserving cultural traditions revealing the national linguistic picture of the world and caring for the value of time.

Reflection of the concept of “SUPERSTITIONS” in the linguistic picture of the world of the Spanish, French, British, Americans and Russians

The article is devoted to studying the specifics of implementation of the concept «SUPERSTITIONS», which is an integral part of the national and cultural identity of any ethnic group, in Spanish, French, British, American and Russian linguocultures in the modern period. The analysis of the language material shows that this phenomenon is widespread in modern Spanish, French, English and Russian. The main function of superstitions - prognostic, predictive - is manifested both at the national and international level. The article examines the content of superstitious views of Spanish, French, British, Americans and Russians, analyzing ways and means for representing the concept of «SUPERSTITIONS» in the linguistic cultures, and highlights the common and distinctive features of this concept in the Spanish, French, British, American and Russian language pictures of the world. The authors of the research used methods such as theoretical literature review, comparative analysis, continuous sampling, as well as observation and generalization. The novelty of the research is to carry out comparative analysis of various aspects of the concept «SUPERSTITIONS» in the material of Spanish, French, English and Russian languages, as well as to identify the dynamics of functional development of this concept in Spanish, French, British, American and Russian world pictures. The study showed that although the grammatical aspects of the expression of the concept «SUPERSTITIONS» are comparable in modern Spanish, French, English and Russian languages, however, there are marked differences in the interpretation of the consequences of the same events and phenomenon in the different linguistic pictures of the world being studied. The results of the study in a practical plane can be used to solve a wide range of problems related to the characteristics of intercultural interaction of Spanish, French, British, Americans and Russians.

Етноніми в поемі івана котляревського енеїда

The semantics and functioning of ethnonyms in the poem Aeneid by Ivan Kotlyarevsky are covered in the article. It has been established that the text of the poem contains 44 ethnonym names referring to two time-spaces – the ancient (15 ethnonyms) and the early modern time of writing the Aeneid (29 ethnonyms). Ethnonyms are a reflection of inter-ethnic contacts, represent the linguistic picture of the world at the end of the turn of the 19th century. The text contains neutral and expressive ethnonyms, as well as ethnophaulisms. The ethnonyms of the Aeneid implicate the ethno-cultural specificity of peoples and at the same time are the historical and cultural realities of their time. The text contains the names of household items of ethnonymic origin. Literary ethnonyms record the connotative stereotyped images of peoples, in particular, the nearest neighbours of the Ukrainians. Against the background of other peoples, the self-identification of one's own people can be clearly traced, which the author designates with auto-ethnonyms – Cossacks, Our people, Baptized people. Literary ethnonyms reveal the linguistic identity of the author of the Aeneid as an educated Ukrainian who identified himself with the Cossack people.

The Mechanisms of Language Game in the Vietnamese Language

The article is devoted to the study of the specifics and mechanisms of language play in the Vietnamese language. The language game is found in traditional Kazao folk couplets, in paired inscriptions, riddles, poetry, as well as in the texts and headlines of modern media, advertising, colloquial speech, and Internet communications. The following basic means and techniques of language play in the Vietnamese language are highlighted: the use of various types of homonymy; creating inversion puns (inversion of constituent components, rearrangement of tones, rearrangement of rhyme, rearrangement of initials, rearrangement of initials and tone, rearrangement of rhyme and tone, rearrangement of initials and rhyme); decomposition of a word into its component components-morphemes and separate use of them or their homonyms; decomposing a word into its component components and replacing one of the components; use of synonymy and antonymy; the use of polysemy; paronymy; phraseological game. During the research process, extensive illustrative material was used. The research topic is relevant due to the extremely wide distribution of this phenomenon in the Vietnamese language and its importance for constructing a cultural and linguistic picture of the world of Vietnamese speakers.

THE PSYCHOLINGUISTIC APPROACH TO THE STUDY OF FRAUDULENT DISCOURSE TEXTS

The article pays attention to modern Russian psycholinguistic analysis in the study of fraudulent dis-course. It is shown that currently in the country, as a result of the increase in the number of crimes committed using mobile phones, scientifi c interest in the speech of a fraudster, methods of infl uencing the victim is increasing, and the question of the need for eff ective protection against unwanted communication arises. The description of the live speech of a fraudster in a real communication situation is relevant; the subject of scientifi c research attracts resear-chers with the opportunity to understand the mechanisms and methods of infl uencing the consciousness of a real or potential victim. The material consisted of recordings of the verbatim content of phonograms in criminal cases. The authors attempt to consider the text of the fraudster’s speech from the point of view of a psycholinguistic approach. A review is made of the scientifi c views of Russian scientists on the manipulation of opinions and actions, and the basic concepts are qualifi ed. The concepts of “linguistic picture of the world” and “linguistic consciousness” are revealed. The authors of the scientifi c article convincingly demonstrated how the slightest change in the communi-cation situation instantly aff ects the structure of the dialogue. We study how the process of substitution of linguistic consciousness occurs in a situation of communication between a fraudster and a victim. The focus is on the seman-tic, pragmatic, syntactic aspects of speech manipulation. Attempts have been made to identify the reasons for the victim’s unquestioning adherence to the criminal’s instructions. In conclusion, the authors proved that in order to prevent this type of crime, it is most important to convey to the potential victim that it is necessary to break off the communicative act (hang up), not to give the criminal the slightest chance to replace the linguistic picture of the world, to immerse the victim in an illusion, which, when disappearing, will cause damage not only to the victim’s bank account, but also to mental health. The theoretical signifi cance of the scientifi c article is seen in the fact that the real recorded speech of the fraudster was studied and the suggestive potential of the remarks was investigated. The results of the study will be useful to anyone who fi nds themselves a victim within the fraudulent discourse.

Good and Evil Ethical Concepts in the Linguistic Picture of the World of Kyrgyz

This article analyses actual problems of cognitive linguistics, intensively developing linguistic direction since the 80s of the XX century. The study concisely conducted a scientific and theoretical analysis of cognitivism, the object of the study of which becomes the human mind, thinking and mental processes. The formation of a concept as a basic concept of cognitive linguistics is connected with cognitive activity, world perception of a person. The concept as a result of national linguo culture reflects national, spiritual and cultural values in the linguistic picture of the world of any ethnic group. It is noted that language is a manifestation of cognitive processes, “activity of the mind” is studied on the material of language i.e. language means. The article is devoted to the analysis of ethical concepts “good” and “evil” in the language consciousness of the Kyrgyz people. It is noted that the key tokens are good and evil. The study is conducted on the material of analysis of lexical meanings of linguistic units with morphemes: zhakshy, zhaman, Kyrgyz proverb, a passage from the Epic of Manas, consisting of opposition “good” and “evil”. The article briefly describes the essence of the philosophy of good and evil of the Kyrgyz people, which reflects humanistic ideas, moral and ethical, national values, ethnic peculiarities of mentality of the Kyrgyz people. In them, good stands for love, good, success, faith, hope, honor and dignity, a sense of duty, and evil is manifested in destruction, greedy profligacy, slyness, anger, etc. The study notes that the conceptual part of the structure of concepts “good” and “evil” is “multiple and complex, as they use figurative expressions, which include purely personal perception, linguistic mentality and means of artistic expression. It has been determined that the moral and ethical concepts of “good” and “evil” are a neglected topic in Kyrgyz linguistics. They have a special place in the linguistic consciousness of the Kyrgyz people and require further in-depth study.

Symbolic Signs of the Eye Concept in English Language View of the World

The article deals with the symbolic meanings and cultural meanings associated with the concept “eye” in the English linguistic picture of the world. On the basis of a comprehensive analysis of lexicographic sources, phraseology, paremi, artistic discourse and corpus data a wide range of symbolic features of this concept is revealed. To achieve the purpose of the article a number of methods were used: linguocultural, paremiological, linguistic and linguistic-stylistic analysis, as well as the analysis of artistic discourse. It is established that the concept "eye" in English linguoculture symbolizes a “window” for comprehending the inner world of a person and reflects ideas about soul, emotions, personal qualities. At the same time, eyes are metaphorically associated with perception, aesthetic pleasure, inspiration, insight, but also greed, sinfulness, threat and cruel retribution. The revealed richness and ambivalence of symbolic meanings are explained by the cultural significance of the concept “eye” in the English tradition, its deep roots in Christianity, paganism, folklore, literature and art. The symbolism of eyes represents the national values of the English — the search for truth, love of beauty, thirst for knowledge, but also negative features that require attention. It is concluded that the concept “eye” is one of the main codes of English linguoculture, embodying the originality of the national worldview through metaphorical conceptualization of the most important “window” for cognition of reality.

PHRASEOLOGISMS WITH THE "BREAD" COMPONENT AS MARKERS OF UKRAINIAN LINGUOMENTALITY (FEATURES OF USAGE IN MASS MEDIA TEXTS)

The article deals with phraseological units with the "bread" component, which are actively used in the texts of mass media messages. The semantic groups of such idioms are analyzed, as well as their inherent property of actualizing the idea of the food culture of Ukrainians, their worldview, mentality, etc. The purpose of the study was to identify and describe the features of media phraseological units (PHUs), namely those containing the "bread" component, which required the completion of tasks: to single out the phraseological array in media texts for the period of 2021-2024, where special attention was focused on phrasemes with gustatives; to identify PHUs that have a "bread" component in their structure and to find out the semantic content of such units in the media space. The object of the study was headlines and texts with phraseology in Ukrainian electronic editions of national and regional media, the subject was the peculiarities of the implementation of such units in the mass media. To achieve the goal, the work used a descriptive method, elements of component analysis (using which the semantic structure of the meaning of phraseological units was established); a quantitative method that made it possible to compare and generalize the obtained results. The work examines the verbal expression of the "bread" component as a linguistic marker through the development of dictionaries of phraseological units. A semantic analysis of phraseological units is presented, the most used in speech are identified, which reveal character traits, behavior, moral qualities, traditions and customs of Ukrainians, illustrate various life and everyday situations through food culture, and present a linguistic picture of the world. The significant cultural and national potential of such phraseological units is also emphasized. The peculiarities of the implementation and functioning of phraseological units with the "bread" component in the headlines and texts of Ukrainian electronic media are clarified, where they maximally reveal their influential power, which consists in the ability to attract the attention of the reader, evoke emotions, be remembered, as well as in the property of comprehensive display the current meaning of the message. As a result of the research, it was found that the most frequent phrases in newspaper materials are the phraseological units with the "bread" component to indicate the positive qualities of Ukrainians, in particular hard work, hospitality, good-naturedness and generosity, and PHUs were also frequent, reflecting the struggle for justice and the hard efforts of Ukrainians to survive in the conditions war.
