In this paper, effect of the excimer laser irradiation on bacterial adhesion of the polycarbonate films was investigated. For this purpose, the surface roughness and wettability as two important factors are examined following laser treatment. The samples were irradiated by a KrF laser with the wavelength of 248 nanometers and pulse duration of about 25 ns. Scanning electron spectroscopy was used for investigating the changes in surface morphology. Finally, the results show that excimer laser irradiation with a proper irradiation parameters improve the antibacterial properties of polycarbonate surface.
