CASE STUDY: ELEARNING IN COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE FOR MANAGING BY PROJECT

New Internet technologies have expanded the possibilities of interaction, overcoming geographical restrictions. The training within communities of practices that have their own identity, determined by both the specific competencies of its participants and the common domain (field of activity, mission, values, topic), paves the way gradually in different sectors and at different levels. The research aims at generalizing the experience in organization and implementation of e-learning on Management of Projects in Community of Practice: Sustainable Development for further use and formation of virtual environments for professional training, exchange of experience, and distribution of innovations.This article summarizes the typical components of a community of practice as the basis of professional educational systems creation and knowledge management method. The paper considers the essence and prerequisites of successful e-learning. It reveals peculiarities of the virtual learning environment of the "Local Development Project Management" electronic course, which combines all the learning activities and course goals, creates the effect of social presence and co-creation. The main points of the course design should draw attention to its topics, adjust each of its elements to the needs of participants in cognition and learning, motivation for actions, cooperation, and interaction. Methods used include analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, logical generalization, and comparison.

The Role of Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology in Promoting Knowledge Management in Business Firms: A Review

Knowledge Management appears to be more advanced and sophisticated in the twenty-first century, as a result of the advancement of information technology and artificial intelligence technologies. Several academic and commercial scholars have been studying, exploring, and discussing knowledge management for a long time, owing to the importance of this topic for the success of companies in both the public and private sectors. In addition, many prominent firms throughout the world have used a variety of knowledge management methods to ensure that they remain one step ahead of their competitors in today's highly competitive business environment, including businesses that are constantly looking for methods to improve their knowledge management strategies. There have been some studies undertaken to gain a more in-depth grasp of the most recent research trend in knowledge management procedures and best practices in businesses. This subject, on the other hand, demands deeper examination from a variety of angles. The impact of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Technology (IT) concepts and techniques on the efficiency of knowledge management in modern businesses, particularly has been overlooked by many prior studies. The current study reviews the role of artificial intelligence and information technology in promoting knowledge management in business firms.

A data-driven scheduling knowledge management method for smart shop floor

ABSTRACT The data-driven method has been widely used to mine knowledge from the smart shop floors’ production data to guide dynamic scheduling. However, the mined knowledge may be invalid when the production scene changes. In order to address this problem and ensure the validity of the knowledge, this paper studies a data-driven scheduling knowledge life-cycle management (SKLM) method for the smart shop floor. The proposed method includes four phases: knowledge generation, knowledge application, online knowledge evaluation, and knowledge update. Specifically, the extreme learning machine (ELM) is applied to learn knowledge based on the composite scheduling rules. The quality control theory is used to evaluate the quality of scheduling knowledge. And the online sequential ELM (OS-ELM) is adopted to update the knowledge. Knowledge life-cycle management is implemented through the iterative knowledge update. The proposed method is validated on the MIMAC6, which is a simulation model of the semiconductor production line. Experimental results show that the proposed method could improve the effectiveness of scheduling knowledge and further optimize the performance of the smart shop floor.

Semantic City Planning Systems (SCPS): A Literature Review

This review focuses on recent research literature on the use of Semantic Web Technologies (SWT) in city planning. The review foregrounds representational, evaluative, projective, and synthetical meta-practices as constituent practices of city planning. We structure our review around these four meta-practices that we consider fundamental to those processes. We find that significant research exists in all four metapractices. Linking across domains by combining various methods of semantic knowledge generation, processing, and management is necessary to bridge gaps between these meta-practices and will enable future Semantic City Planning Systems.

Research on the Management Mode of Library Information Resources Construction Project

With the continuous development of the times, the management mode of the library should keep pace with the times, and the advanced management mode should be applied to improve the management effect, so as to promote the rapid growth and development of the library and meet the current demand of people for knowledge. The knowledge management mode is an advanced management method at present, which can ensure that the knowledge integrated in the library can be comprehensive, meet people's knowledge needs and realize the modernization of the library. How to implement the knowledge management mode is the key research content in the current library management. The methods of knowledge management are studied in order to provide effective suggestions for library management. The value of information resources is different in different life cycle stages. According to the evolution and change characteristics of the life value of library digital information resources, the library can establish a library information resources management mode based on the information life cycle theory, establish a hierarchical digital resources storage standard and service system process, and strive to maximize the efficiency of library storage equipment and the utility of information resources, and improve the library's information service capability.

Knowledge management in international supply chains

: Recently the management of supply chains tends to be oriented at gaining flexibility to changing market conditions, increasing the value delivered to customers or a reduction in operating costs. Internationally supply chain management is supplemented with a large variety of markets and long distances to come which raises new challenges. To deal with it enterpreneurs need to develop new business models based on knowledge. In leading edge supply chains knowledge management has become one of the most important processes. The aim of the article is to analyze the results of research on knowledge management in international supply chains, which was carried out in 2012. The study involved international supply chains at least partially functioning in Poland. The most crucial task was to observe whether and how approaches to knowledge management differ at different stages of supply chain maturity. Therefore, the results were associated with the evaluation of supply chain maturity level according to Poirier’s model. Research results allow to look positively at supply chains at the initial stage of improvement – they already show great awareness and considerable commitment in the field of knowledge management. Knowledge management in supply chains characterized by higher levels of maturity requires development, also in the field of collective knowledge management, which has already become their practice. It is now important to confront these research results with the reality that in recent years has revealed advances in knowledge management methods in supply chains, and to pursue new, inspiring research avenues.

Problems of semantic reconstruction of the sociological narrative

A sociological narrative is a human’s storytelling in which another human is not always able to trace semantic connections in a relevant way. Such uncertainty has a detrimental effect in key cases of verbal description of social processes such as theory building, drafting laws and maintaining of document flow. Based on research in the areas of qualitative data analysis and knowledge management, the article expresses the conviction that a significant reason for the semantic uncertainty of the narrative is its construction by the author in the form of a text flow. The necessity and possibility of a natural language description of social processes in the form of a structural narrative is substantiated. Analytical coding is proposed as a tool for constructing such a narrative. In contrast to the approaches used today, analytical coding allows the researcher in a single instrumental procedure, on the one hand, to adhere to the habitual practice of verbal description of something; on the other hand, to structure their natural language wordings with the help of ontological methods of knowledge management. Specific analytical coding techniques are considered in detail within methodological cases in which a researcher finds him/herself when deciding to construct a narrative using analytical methods. Among such cases, the initial epistemological attitudes of the author of the narrative; localization of the meaning of a verbal statement by indicating the context; linking contextsensitive wordings; construction and generation of narrative semantic chains; instrumental control of narrative connectivity are mentioned. In conclusion, it is noted that the improvement of methods for constructing a structural narrative allows us reckoning on solving the problems of decomposition of verbal knowledge about social processes and on creating opportunities for interdisciplinary teamwork of specialists with different competencies

Employee Perception on the Impact of Knowledge Management on Organizational Performance: A Study on Academic and Non-Academic Staff in the Higher Education Sector of Bangladesh

The primary focus of the study is to ascertain whether there is a clear relationship between knowledge management (KM) and organizational performance (OP) by looking at the impacts of universities. Because of the sharper competition in the education sector, educational institutions must adopt knowledge management to be effective. Knowledge management methods employed at the Bangladeshi universities are still inadequate to fulfill ambitious priorities; KM practices must be improved from a variety of structural, facility, and cultural perspectives among academic actors. In this study, a survey method is employed with a questionnaire to gather primary data. Target populations of the study were academic and non-academic members of staff of some selected universities of Bangladesh. Three hypotheses were proposed and evaluated through using partial least squares structural equation modeling technique. Findings of the study revealed that knowledge management has a positive impact on performance of the higher educational institutions. The research also discovered that knowledge management has a significant impact on organizational performance which, ultimately, improves the educational performance. However, Knowledge sharing between the universities and the faculties are acute in Bangladesh. In order to deal with the contemporary methods and approaches, efficiency of the academic staff must be improved. It is recommended that academic institutes and other organizations use knowledge management to effectively achieve organizational goals. Additionally, it is important to make sure that academic and non-academic staff receives the proper training and development so they may have the information necessary to successfully address today’s difficulties. This study aims to shed light on this issue as well as experimentally investigate the relationship between organizational performance (OP) and knowledge management (KM).

Knowledge Management as a Core Competency? Evaluating the Application and Benefits of Knowledge Management

Knowledge management or KM becomes essential because it facilitates the ongoing exchange of information among all stakeholders within an enterprise or organisation and stresses the significance of learning. Whenever necessary, the sharing of facts or data has become a priority and facilitates breakthroughs or a shift in an organisational setup. The management's experience and skills are freely approachable to workers and contribute to a constructive and supportive workplace environment. Competent knowledge management facilitates the generation, diffusion, and use of information to assist a company to accomplish its aims and purposes. In the introductory part of the research, the importance of knowledge management in business settings is discussed. Following that section, the theoretical framework of knowledge management is analysed through previous research findings in the literature review part. The methodology section highlighted the research approach along with different web portals which are used during the research for data collection. The finding part has two sub-sections- one discussed the application of KM to improve the sustainable development approach of businesses and the second one is about the benefits of knowledge management. Knowledge management has been currently employed as a mediator for the sustainable development of businesses. In a quickly changing corporate environment, establishing long-term sustainable plans stresses the requirement for a unique framework of knowledge management methods. The function of knowledge management as a mediator in the interaction between business culture as well as sustainable development is significant, as is the connection between management approach as well as sustainable productivity. Knowledge Management Practices Amongst the Education Colleges in Bhutan and its Relation with Organizational Performance

Purpose – This study investigated the knowledge management practices adopted by the Education colleges in Bhutan and assessed their relation with the organizational performance. Design/methodology/approach – Hypothesis testing research design adopted for this study. Data was collected from 189 respondents from all the nine RUB colleges using a well-designed questionnaire. Findings – Analysis of the data indicates that the RUB colleges are mostly practicing explicit methods of knowledge management. Further, there is more prevalence of knowledge storage, knowledge transfer, and a better attitude towards knowledge management amongst the RUB Colleges’ staff. However, motivation and opportunities to share do not exist significantly. The study indicates that explicit-oriented knowledge management and knowledge transfer are significantly related to organizational performance. Research limitations/implications – The study could gather only 189 responses and studies the relation between two variables only – Knowledge management and organizational performance. Practical implications – There is a need to have proper policies and systems of knowledge management in the Bhutanese Education colleges to have advancement in knowledge management that will position the tertiary education institutes in the lead towards national socio-economic development. But this requires having all the stakeholders on board along with government support in terms of finance as well as trust and confidence. Originality/value – This study is unique as it focuses on educational institutions of Bhutan which are meant for knowledge sharing. This will pave the way for better management of knowledge amongst the education colleges.

Pengembangan Pelaksanaan Discharge Planning dengan Penyusunan Panduan Berbasis Knowledge Management SECI Model

This study aims to identify the development of discharge planning implementation, which is attempted by compiling a discharge planning guide based on the knowledge management SECI Model. The method used is a pilot project that starts from the problem, analyzes problems, prioritizes, prepares action plans, implements and evaluates structures and discussions based on literature review. The results showed that nurses' knowledge of care planning needed further improvement, while perceptions of care planning wanted a revision of standard operating procedures. In conclusion, the implementation of discharge planning can be done by optimizing the control function either at the head of the room or at the service level, and the SECI model knowledge management method guide is an effort that can assist the discharge planning implementation process.

Development Strategy of Endodontic Filling Materials Based on Engineering and Medical Approaches

This article is a literature review aimed at presenting the general state of knowledge in manufacturing engineering and materials engineering to develop engineering materials applied for endodontic treatment as filling materials. Particular attention was paid to theoretical analyses concerning the selection of methods for developing and obturating root canals and discussing the results of experimental studies available in the literature. These activities aimed to compare the importance of the most commonly used endodontic filling materials based on gutta-percha or polymeric polyester materials, commonly known as resilon, respectively. The motivation to take up this complex, multi-faceted topic in this paper is the extent of caries, periodontal disease, and other oral diseases in 3 to 5 billion people, often affecting toothlessness and contributing to an increase in the index of disability-adjusted life years (number). Endodontics is an important element of the authors’ concept of Dentistry Sustainable Development (DSD) > 2020. The principles of qualifying patients for endodontic treatment are discussed. The introduction of rotary tools, especially manufactured from Nitinol alloy, to develop root canals and the latest thermohydraulic and condensation techniques for obturation guarantee progress in endodontics. The “Digital Twins” methodology was used, rooted in the idea of Industry 4.0 and the resulting idea of Dentistry 4.0, as well as knowledge management methods, to perform experimental research in virtual space, concerning methods of developing and obturating the root canal and assessing the tightness of fillings. Microscopic visualization methods were also used. Significant factors determining the effectiveness of endodontic obturation are the selection of the filling material and the appropriate obturation method. The generalized dendrological matrix of endodontic filling materials considers the criteria of mechanical strength influencing the potential root fracture and the quality of root canal filling. The results of the SWOT point analysis (strengths and weaknesses, opportunities, threats) were also compared. For both filling materials, the weaknesses are much less than the strengths, while the threats are slightly less than the opportunities for the gutta-percha-based material, while for resilon the opportunities are much smaller than the threats. It requires the application of an appropriate development strategy, i.e., MAXI-MAXI in the case of a filling material based on gutta-percha and MAXI-MINI in the case of resilon. Therefore, the analysis of these experimental data does not indicate the real competitiveness of resilon for the gutta-percha-based material. This material deservedly maintains its strong position as the “Gold Standard of Endodontics”.

Strategic Learning and Knowledge Management of Technological Innovation in Safety Evaluation Planning of Construction Projects

The safety evaluation of construction projects is a very important problem. In the current study, the new smart methods especially for the complexity and variability of construction safety evaluation are absent. Combined with the engineering examples, this paper analyzes the sensitive factors that affect the construction project safety and makes discretizating of influencing factors based on expert and BIM technique. Based on BIM and Bayesian network, this paper established a new construction project safety evaluation model and presented the hybrid methods of strategic learning and knowledge management of technological innovation in construction project safety evaluation. Combined with the example of underground traffic engineering of Zhengzhou city comprehensive transportation hub, the Bayesian network was used to predict its security level. The probability of the safety level of the project in grade 3 is 0.614. Compared to other evaluation methods, presented hybrid method is more intelligent in strategic learning and knowledge management of technological innovation. Through the Bayesian network sensitivity analysis, we can know that the sensitivity factor of the construction project safety in the project is the construction risk, the continuous operation time, the protective measures, the material risk, and the number of maintenance. Presented detailed computational methods and steps in this paper can be used to improve the level of construction project safety effectively and help construction managers to take more effective control measures to prevent or reduce the occurrence of security incidents.

Knowledge Management Approaches in Pakistani Universities: Faculty Perceptions

Knowledge management is defined as the process of developing, validating, presenting, sharing, and implementing knowledge. Knowledge management (KM) is a strategy for aiding organisations in identifying, choosing, organising, and disseminating the knowledge and skills necessary for tasks including strategic planning, dynamic learning, problem solving, and decision making. Educational institutions played a significant role in the development, management, and dissemination of information and knowledge among higher education institutions. The study's objectives were to learn about (1) faculty perspectives of existing knowledge management approaches, (2) the advantages of knowledge management practises, and (3) the current hurdles to adopting knowledge management practises effectively inPakistani universities. Participants in the study were all PhD supervisors who had been approved by all public and private institutions in Pakistan. During the interview process, researcher spoke with a total of 15 PhD supervisors. As a basis for qualitative data analysis, grounded theory was employed. Research revealed that Pakistani institutions have a poor understanding of knowledge management. However, despite the fact that universities in Pakistan were well aware of the benefits of knowledge management methods, they did not make any attempts to adopt them. Knowledge management approaches in Pakistan are afflicted by difficulties related to perspectives and ICTs due to a dearth of frameworks, coordination points, and budgetary concerns in the country's institutions. The findings indicated that knowledge management approaches are required in Pakistani universities. It was concluded in this research that knowledge management practices have not been completely included into the planned agendas of most institutions Knowledge management strategies, plans, and policy guidelines are recommended by the study for universities to create

Modern Solutions of HR-Logistics

The article is devoted to the issues of personnel logistics. Such main provisions of HR-logistics as definition, goals, functional areas of management, the place and role of HR-logistics in enterprise management structures are considered. The analysis of modern solutions in the sphere of HR-logistics is carried out. The potentially productive principles of strategic partnership of enterprises-employers and universities acting as suppliers of the labor force are considered. Also, among the modern methods of HR-logistics, outsourcing technologies in personnel management, the approach and tools of sustainable logistics, tools for designing the labor process, a humanistic approach in the personnel motivation system, knowledge management methods are highlighted. HR logistics is of interest as an area for conducting scientific researches, and also, has a high potential for practical implementation at enterprises of various fields of activity.

CONSULTING ACTIVITIES OF INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES

The article analyzes the features of consulting activities of international companies. It is noted that modern economic trends are formed in the context of the knowledge economy, which has become the dominant characteristic of all socially and economically developed countries. One of the prerequisites for the development of the intellectual potential of the country's enterprises is the formation of an effective organizational and economic mechanism for consulting companies, which should help increase the competitiveness of customers by improving the quality of consulting services. The purpose of the study is to analyze the features of development and operation of international consulting companies in the global economy. Consulting is important given the development of the modern business environment both in Ukraine and in the world as a whole. This is one of the most dynamic activities that is developing rapidly. The authors emphasize that the peculiarities of the functioning of the management consulting market in general are determined by the specifics of the product itself - a consulting service, an intellectual product that remains at the disposal of the client after the consultation. The article highlights the factors that cause the growth of demand for consulting services. The criteria for classification of consulting services are outlined. There is a “Big Four” of consulting companies around the world. In total, there are about 1720 companies in the world specializing in management consulting. The article presents the results of the analysis of the services structure offered by the 40 largest management consulting firms. It is emphasized that one of the important sources of development of international consulting companies is an intellectual resource, which is expressed in the ability to generate ideas, use internal resources, ability to innovate, maintain a competitive position, optimal use of the business entity and more. Thus, the factors that determine the success of a consultant in an international consulting company are identified. It is emphasized that the specific conditions of international consulting activities dictate certain features that affect the personnel management system. In conclusion, we can say that consulting is a systematized set of knowledge on the provision of high quality consulting services by consulting companies to customers. Intellectual knowledge may not be the property of the company, but it takes the form of renting or leasing from staff. The purpose of the consulting company is their accumulation and development, so the basis of personnel policy of the consulting company is the method of corporate knowledge management.

Optimization of air pollution measurements with unmanned aerial vehicle low-cost sensor based on an inductive knowledge management method

The article presents the study of Particulate Matter air pollution with PM1, PM2,5 and PM10 by means of a low-cost sensors mounted on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. The article is divided into two parts. In first part pollution measurement system is described. In second part expert system for optimization of flight parameters is described. The research was conducted over a municipal cemetery area in Poland. The obtained results were analyzed through an inductive knowledge management system (decision tree method) for classification analysis of air pollution. The decision tree mechanism would be used to optimize flight parameters taking into account the air pollution parameters. The analysis was made from the influence of PM concentration point of view, depending on the altitude. The decision tree method was used, which allowed to determine, among other aspects, which PM indicator should be measured and which altitude plays a greater role in the optimization of air pollution measurements by means of cheap sensors mounted on drones. As a result of the analysis, the optimum flight altitude of the measurement drone in the specified area was determined.

Semantic Approach for Al-Quran Knowledge Representation in Islamic Knowledge Management Framework

Using ontology data model to accurately represent Al-Quran knowledge using its inherent structure of Division (Juz), Chapter (Surah), and Verse (Ayah) should be done within the framework of the Islamic Knowledge Management (IKM). Data modelling neglecting the IKM framework would result in inaccuracy and irrelevant result in knowledge processing activities involving the Al-Quran. Many of the current approaches utilizing conventional knowledge management methods such as taxonomy, hierarchy, or tree structure are limited in the sense that they only define the concepts of knowledge without relating it to a theme that defined from corpus of Islamic knowledge. In the case of Al-Quran, a classification of themes from background knowledge are important to provide a structural explanation of the knowledge and to ensure that the results obtained from a searching function of the corpus of the knowledge will result in an accurate and appropriate meaning intended by the Islamic knowledge. The aims of this paper is to demonstrate the construction of Al-Quran ontology and elaborate the searching method for representing and retrieving the relevance and accurate verses toward the theme of Al-Quran by using the semantic-based approach. The specification of Al-Quran ontology of which the prototype application was built on has been validated by experts. The evaluation test of the Al-Quran ontology application furthermore shows high precision result from searching functions done. With a good level of accuracy achieved from the test, it is hopeful that Al-Quran ontology application will provide a new experience of Al-Quran themes searching and browsing within the IKM framework for the Al-Quran readers. A capability to efficiently and accurately performing search of Al-Quran will certainly improve their understanding of Al-Quran contents.

Investigation and Analysis on the Status Quo of Safety Knowledge of Nursing Staff in Elderly Cancer Patients with Cancer Pain

Objective: To investigate the mastery of safety knowledge and methods of nursing staff for cancer pain of elderly patients with cancer and analyze the reasons. Methods: In June, 2019, female nurses were selected from oncology departments of five 3A hospitals in the urban areas and investigated. General data questionnaire, cancer pain management knowledge and attitude questionnaire and case analysis questionnaire were adopted for investigation. Results: The nurses had a good command of the knowledge of cancer pain assessment methods, showing a pass rate of 79.41% and an excellent rate of 45.59%. However, the pass rate of cancer pain-related basic knowledge, analgesic drug knowledge, non-drug pain relief knowledge and cancer pain management methods were 47.06%, 30.88%, 39.71% and 44.12%, respectively, and the excellent rates were 22.06%, 13.24%, 22.06% and 17.65%, respectively. Over 90% of 68 respondents believed that it was necessary and willing to carry out relevant training to improve their self-knowledge level and do a better job in nursing work for the benefit of patients. Meanwhile, more than 85% thought it was necessary to carry out cancer pain knowledge education for patients and their families. In the case analysis questionnaire, there were 45 people qualified, accounting for 66.18% (45/68), and 21 people got the excellent score, accounting for 30.88% (21/68). The factors influencing the knowledge of pain management in elderly patients with cancer pain were education background, professional title of nurse, working years of 11 years or more, participation in relevant training, and average number of nursing cases per month (P<0.05). Conclusion: The safety knowledge of nursing staff for cancer pain of elderly patients with cancer is at the middle level, and the knowledge of analgesic drugs and non-drug pain relief is relatively lacking, which is related to education level, professional title, working years and others. Relevant departments should actively and regularly carry out training to improve their knowledge level, so as to better relieve pain and reduce the risk of extravasation for cancer patients in clinical nursing and escort high-quality nursing.

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE BASED AUTOMATED E-MATERIAL FORMATTING TOOL

Knowledge is a critical resource for scientific, academical and technological development. In a time of fast development and growth of a massive amount of information and big data, knowledge management (KM) has a crucial role in creating knowledge from data and information. Knowledge management discipline increases its popularity among other fast-developing disciplines as Artificial Intelligence (AI). It is important to understand how fields of science and technological research and development and knowledge management integrate into each other, cooperate, and support each other. Likewise, understanding theoretical bases in the practical use of knowledge management are crucial for learning and development use. The theoretical part of the publication shortly represents knowledge management theoretical basis. It is followed by a description of the case - artificial intelligence based automated e-material formatting tool development and research accompanying the development of the tool. The result part of the publication systematically represents knowledge management aspects in the case study. There are included knowledge management aspects as components of knowledge management definition, types, theories, approaches and methods in the case study. Thereby, the publication shows the cooperation of disciplines through the scope of the case study and could be used as a sample in the study process to understand and show knowledge management and knowledge management aspects in the research and development process.
