The Effect Internet to Learning English for Young Learner

English is an international language used to communicate with people all over the world, so learning English is very important. English also helps learners provide themselves withknowledge and progress. In this article, we'll explore how learning English over the Internet affects young learners. The Internet is currently the most popular source of information to get the information you need. This can affect the progress of English-speaking children. The researcher's goal in preparing this article is to find the positive and negative effects of learning English for young learners via the Internet. The method used in this study is a case study by interviewing a subject analysis of 25 mothers with children attending Islamic Schools TK Khalifah, TK DWI ASIH 2, and TK CINTA BANGSA. In the interview, mothers are asked about the positive and negative effects of learning English for their children over the internet. As a result of the analysis,learning English to children via the Internet generally has positive and negative effects. This hasthe positive effect that children are more likely to follow what they hear and see on the Internet. As children pronounce English, they can develop creativity and children can develop an interestin learning English. In other words, the negative effects of learning English over the Internet develop semi-linguisticism in which children cannot master the language to the fullest, impair their psychological development, and children are not fluent in Indonesian. Children tend to like gadgets. As a result, researchers can find the negative and positive effects of learning English for young learners via the Internet.

The Implementation of Multimodal Approach to Teaching English Online in The Covid – 19

The advent of COVID-19 and the subsequent national lockdown has catapulted higher education institutions into emergency remote teaching. It is make the students must study from home. Multimodality is an emergent phenomenon that may influence how digital learning is designed. By the Multimodal the teacher and the students can study well, eventhough they are at home. Multimodal employed in highly interactive and immersive learning environments. In this research, the author investigates and analyzes the multimodal theory and proposes an effective way to teach English in higher education under the multimodal vision. This study aims to analyze the multimodal approach theory and proposes an effective way to teach English in higher education under the multimodal vision. The instrument used by the writer in this research is a questioner and interview. The interview was made after administering the questionnaires to verify the students’ responses. The questioner is sent by G-form. From the data and analysis that have been completed from the results of the questionnaire regarding the students’ interest in learning English. There are 47 respondents. The respondents or 93.7 % were attracted to learn English by Multimodal Approach. It means that the Multimodal Approach help to improve the quality of English language teaching in higher education institutions. The Application of Storytelling Technique in Improving Students’ Speaking Skill

This research aims to explore the application of storytelling techniques in improving students' speaking skills in Class 7.1 MTsN 2 Boalemo. The population of the research comprised four classes of first-grade students at MTsN 2 Boalemo, with approximately 22 students in each class, totaling 48 students. The researcher chose the students from class 7.1, which consisted of 22 students. Data collection involves the use of the Wilcoxon Test Concept while descriptive analysis with quantitative methods is used to analyze the data. The research findings indicate a significant improvement in students' speaking skills after being taught using storytelling techniques. The statistical analysis shows that there is a significant average difference between the learning outcomes of the pre-test and post-test in terms of vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency. The values of Sig. (2-tailed) for all three tests are 0.000, which is less than the significance level of 0.05. This indicates that the hypotheses H1, H2, and H3 are accepted, and it can be concluded that there is a noticeable improvement in students' vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency from before to after the intervention. The research concludes that storytelling is an effective technique for improving students' speaking skills and increasing their interest in learning English and based on these findings, it is recommended that English teachers utilize storytelling techniques to enhance students' speaking skills and foster their confidence in public speaking. This research can serve as a valuable reference for other researchers interested in exploring similar topics or different aspects related to the use of storytelling in language learning. Exploring the Layered Arrangement of Middle School English Homework under the Background of "Double Reduction"

Assigning homework to students during the teaching process by teachers is a consolidation and extension of the teaching content, and plays an important role in testing students' mastery of English knowledge. In traditional English homework assignments, teachers only consider the overall level of the class in terms of workload and difficulty, ignoring individual differences among students. Some students with weak foundations find it difficult to complete the homework, and the emphasis on rote memorization and transcription of words in the form of homework seriously affects students' interest in learning English. With the implementation of the "double reduction" policy, homework assignments should be effectively implemented in accordance with new requirements, and layered teaching should be implemented. Students' homework should be "tailored to their needs" to meet the requirements of the new curriculum implementation, so that students can truly reduce their workload and learn efficiently. Therefore, junior high school English teaching should adopt targeted homework assignments based on students' learning situations, break the shackles of traditional teaching concepts, innovate homework assignment forms, and meet students' personalized development needs.

THE SUBTITLING OF “DEDAP DURHAKA” LEGENDARY VIDEO

The aim of this research is making subtitling of Dedap Durhaka Legendary Video. The method used in this study was descriptive. In subtitling the video, the techniques of translation used in subtitling were word for word, literal and adaptation. The duration of the video was 24 minutes 53 second. There were several processes in making the English subtitle. They are collecting the materials, writing the script of video, translating the video and the last process was inserting the subtitle to video. The result of this study was about subtitling of Dedap Durhaka Lgendary Video. Based on the evaluation result, this subtitle can help to get students interest in learning English and make foreigners know the contents of video by reading the English subtitle.

Student Reception of English Learning through Animated Videos in Sidoarjo Elementary Schools

This study aims to determine how students respond in learning English using animated videos in grade I SD PLUS FATIMAH AZ – ZAHRO' Sidoarjo. This research is a qualitative research in which the data is taken from the analysis of direct observation and interviews with English class teachers. Collecting data in this study using documentation and interviews. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that student responses are divided into three components, namely cognitive, affective, and conative. This study also shows that students in one class are divided into three parts in the ability to understand English learning, namely the competent level, medium level, and low level. Lack of interest in learning English and internal and external factors such as family background and students' skills or abilities are one of the causes of students' lack of response to learning English.

Deciphering Descriptive Text Challenges: Seventh-Grade Students' Writing Difficulties

This qualitative descriptive research explores the challenges faced by seventh-grade students in writing descriptive text and identifies their underlying causes. The study, conducted at SMP PGRI 16 Sidoarjo, employed students' writing exercises and interviews with an English teacher and first-grade students as data instruments. The analysis revealed three key areas of difficulty: generic structure, grammar (including the use of nouns, pronouns, conjunctions, prepositions, and simple present tense), and spelling. The identified causes encompassed inadequate English proficiency, insufficient knowledge of descriptive text material, disinterest in learning English, as well as internal and external factors such as family background and students' skills and capabilities. The findings shed light on the specific areas of difficulty and their root causes, providing valuable insights for educators and curriculum developers aiming to enhance students' proficiency in writing descriptive text.

Maximizing Students’ Vocabulary Mastery by Using Liveworksheet Apps

This class action research focuses on maximizing vocabulary mastery in 7th grade, especially in the 7H class at SMPN 1 Papar Kediri. In this class action research involves technology-based media, namely liveworksheet apps. With the help of this application, it is hoped that teachers can increase children's interest in learning English because by using this application formative or summative assessments can be formed in a game. The researchers used one of the game features, namely drag-drop. The major instrument used was a test to measure the students’ vocabulary mastery. Also, it applied an interview to evaluate students’ opinions about the application. The results obtained are that the majority of students claim to be happy to use this media because they are considered easy and as many as 75 percent of the total students in one class get results, namely their grades improve

Pembelajaran Menyenangkan sebagai Upaya Memberdayakan Potensi dan Menumbuhkan Minat Belajar Siswa SDIT Quratu A’yun Kota Gorontalo

The purpose of this community service activity is to empower students’ potential in English through fun learning activities, as well as to foster students’ interest in learning English. This activity is conducted by implementing several games and songs in learning processes. The 5th grade students of SDIT Qurratu A’yun, which was located in Kota Tengah Districst, Gorontalo City, with a total number of 20 students were taken as the sample of this activity. This community service activity was carried out for eight meetings using various methods and materials that were considered fun for the students. The result showed that the students were interested and motivated in learning English that led to their vocabulary improvement.

STUDENTS’ DEMOTIVATION FACTORS IN LEARNING ENGLISH at MTs NEGERI 1 BAUBAU

This study aims to reveal the internal factors that cause student demotivation in learning English and to reveal the external factors that cause student demotivation in learning English. Data collection in this study was carried out using research instruments in the form of observation, interviews, and document study to find out the internal factors that cause students demotivation in learning English and the external factors that cause students demotivation in learning English, interviews were conducted to ensure the data obtained could be valid. The data obtained were analyzed with a descriptive qualitative approach and analyzed through three stages, namely data reduction, data display, and verification. The researchers saw that students were less enthusiastic and eager to learn English, this could be due to their low interest in learning English, besides that the researchers also saw that the teacher's teaching methods were still less creative, lack of appreciation to students and still lack of supporting facilities for learning English. Based on the results of interviews conducted with ten eighth-fourth grade students and teachers of English subjects researchers can conclude that there are several internal factors that cause students not to be motivated to learn English, namely their low interest in learning English, students also feel difficulty in learning English and they often feel bored when learning English and external factors that cause students to be unmotivated to learn English is the attitude of the teacher when teaching, lack of interaction between teachers and students in the school environment, students also feel that the teacher's teaching style is still less attractive, students' difficulty in doing assignments due to lack of English vocabulary, the influence of classmates who mostly do not like English, the lack of availability of library books and the low interest in reading students, and the last is the lack of support or attention from the family to the student's learning process

PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS BAGI KELOMPOK PELAYANAN ANAK DAN REMAJA JEMAAT IMANUEL BUHUN, DESA LETBAUN, KECAMATAN SEMAU – KABUPATEN KUPANG

Realizing the importance of English in this modern era, the community service team has developed a learning program in a practical and interesting way that in learning English. Working with religious institutions was one of the methods to support government programs. The program was held in Letbaun Village, Semau District in Kupang Regency. The problem for most Sunday school children in this area was their lack of interest in learning English and limited access to telecommunication networks, so they were more guided by manual learning resources or textbooks. The underlying thing was the lack of vocabulary and grammar in English. The team conducted practical, creative, and fun English learning materials and videos to attract interest in learning English. The book was equipped with pictures and vocabulary relating to general English materials such as greetings, self-introduction, parts of the body, and names of days and months, also provided some Bible-themed materials (God’s creation, the ten plagues in Egypt, the Lord's Prayer in English, the name of the books in English). The book was provided with the aims, directions for Sunday School Teachers, and exercises. There were still several things that have not been achieved such as evaluation of learning outcomes. Study of Junior High School English Reading Teaching on Project-based Learning

The overall objective of the compulsory education stage is described in China’s English Curriculum Standards: to enable students to develop initial comprehensive language skills, promote mental development and improve comprehensive humanistic qualities through the study of English. However, in the reality of junior high school English reading teaching, English teachers emphasize lecturing rather than competence, resulting in students not being able to understand the main idea of the text and limiting the development of students’ thinking skills and independent learning abilities. The project-based learning is a student-centred approach to completing projects through individual or group work, based on communicative teaching method and Dewey’s do-it-yourself theory. This study attempts to apply project-based learning to the problems that have arisen in the teaching of English reading in junior high school, and ultimately to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of project-based learning in the teaching of English reading in junior high school. Can project-based learning be effective in improving junior secondary students’ English reading skills? It is the core question of this study. This research was carried out in a secondary school in Sichuan Province with a total of 60 students in two classes in the second year of junior high school. The study was conducted in the form of an experimental class and a control class for 12 weeks. The experimental class adopted the project learning approach, while the control class adopted the traditional reading teaching approach. The students’ reading skills were compared through pre-tests and post-tests, questionnaires, SPSS analysis of the project implementation process and results, as well as interviews and observations. The final conclusion is that the use of project-based learning in junior high school English reading classes can effectively improve students’ reading ability and level, stimulate their interest in reading, and improve their interest in learning English.

베트남 학습자들의 의사소통 영어교수법에 대한 흥미도 연구

This study identified the degree of interest in learning English among Vietnamese learners learning English in Korea. The survey data was based on the questionnaire on foreign language self-learning strategies and consisted of a total of 20 items to meet the communicative language teaching method. The SPSS 26.0 program was conducted to identify the total distribution, the difference in average between groups, the significance between genders, and the difference by learning period. The results show that students are generally more interested in reading and writing than in listening and speaking. In addition, there is a significant difference in the learning period rather than the difference between genders. The results of this study need to be used as reference materials for foreign learners learning liberal arts English at Korean universities.

The Discourse Analysis of Diction Effects on Teachers Used in Teaching English as a Foreign Language

Proper diction relates to the choice of words used in conveying an idea. Diction in speaking becomes a difficulty for English teachers in classroom interactions. Especially for beginner English teachers, some of them are still unfamiliar with choosing the right/good vocabulary for describing and explaining material in teaching or using English to give some instructions. This study aimed at finding out the effect of diction used by the teachers during the interaction in the EFL class. This research applied qualitative research design and applied discourse analysis method specifically conversational analysis on the teachers’ utterances. Respondents who participated in this research were two English teachers and students respectively. The researchers collected the data through observation by recording teachers’ voices and interviews. This research found that the words or terms used by both teachers had an impact on the interaction, feedback and students’ interest in learning English. Miscommunication, misunderstandings, as well as a few feedbacks occurred in the classroom. There were a few learning aspects faced by both observed teachers to use proper word choice. They were a source of materials, teaching media and tools, as well as teacher training. All of them constrained those English teachers to employ the proper words during interaction in the classroom. Teachers are expected to be careful in choosing words or terms to establish communication between teachers and students.

Pelatihan Menjawab Prediksi Soal Bahasa Inggris: Reading Skill Sebagai Upaya Pembekalan Siswa Menghadapi Ujian Nasional Di SMP Negeri Sukadana

In Indonesia, English is the first foreign language that is studied as a compulsory subject from junior high school to university. English is a very basic and important requirement in Indonesia. This is evident in the development of the current education system, English has been included as one of the subjects tested in the national exam. Based on the observations of class IX students at SMP Negeri Sukadana, in preparation for the national exam, many students still had difficulty answering English questions: reading skills. One of the causal factors of these student problems is the lack of practice by applying strategies to answer questions and do not have the skills to easily predict questions that will appear during the national exam. In addition, the lack of interest in learning English is also a major factor in learning English. Based on the results of the community service activities, it was shown that class IX students at SMP Negeri Sukadana were motivated so that they could optimize their abilities and skills in answering English questions: reading skills. Thus it can be concluded that in this service program students have gained experience in implementing strategies for quick predictions in identifying the right answers.

Students' Emotional Perceptions and Attitudes Toward English Teacher Feedback in Cloud Classroom Learning Environments During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Cloud classrooms are catching increasing attention in English teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. Via multiple correlation analysis, path analysis, and data collected from randomly selected 230 participants, this study examined the effects of students' emotional perceptions and attitudes towards teaching feedback in cloud classroom learning environments. It was concluded that all emotional perceptions were significantly and positively correlated, and learning motivation caused the most significant effect, followed by interest. Learning motivation could predict the perceived teaching feedback. Students with strong self-confidence had strong learning motivation and interest in English learning. High-score students preferred more profound and euphemistic comments; medium-score students hoped to catch more attention and obtain positive feedback from teachers; poor-score students favored direct and explicit evaluations. This study is helpful to future research into non-verbal and peer feedback in technology-based learning environments.

The Students’ Perception Of The Use Of Online English Dictionary At Grade XI Sman 1 Tembilahan Hulu

This research is motivated by the lack of students now to use dictionary which the result from preliminary observations are most students use online dictionary than book dictionary when studying the English language. The researcher become curious about the students experiences in using online dictionary. Thus, this study aims to investigate about students perception on the use of online dictionary by using quantitative method. The sample in this study were 35 students of class XI MIPA 5 SMAN 1 Tembilahan Hulu. Sampling was carried out using cluster sampling technique. In collecting data, researchers used a questionnaire as a research tool. This questionnaire is used to find out how students perception of the Use of Online English Dictionary. The questionnaire used in the study was presented in 5 (five) alternatives, commonly known as the Likert Scale. The results showed that students' perception of the Use of Online English Dictionary fall into the high category. It proved that 35 students got that category as the highest average score was in indicator selection with a score 140, followed by indicator organization with a score 139. And then the average value of indicator interpretation with a score 148. So, the researcher can conclude that the use of online dictionary can increase students’ interest in learning English. Because online dictionary is faster and easier than book dictionary.

Learner Uptake with Automated Feedback and Teacher Feedback in an Online EFL Writing Context

The Automated Writing Evaluation (AWE) system has garnered growing attention in recent years. It is a powerful complement to traditional teacher feedback. Drawing on the data collected from student written texts, AWE feedback, teacher feedback and student interviews in a Chinese university, this study aims to investigates the impact of man-machine feedback on the practice of teaching English writing in an online English as a foreign language (EFL) context as well as students’ engagement with it. The results show that compared with teacher, AWE provides more feedback items and focuses on surface-level such as vocabulary, mechanics and grammar, while teacher pays attention to both surface-level and meaning-level, including organization, content, coherence, etc. Although there is not much difference in the uptake rate between teacher feedback and AWE feedback, the uptake rate of meaning-level feedback is much higher than surface-level feedback. Furthermore, students believe that uptake rate is influenced by various factors such as English competence, feedback quality, score, available time, personal preference, motivation, interest in English learning, and so on. Additionally, students deem that the combination of AWE feedback and teacher feedback has a positive impact on stimulating their writing enthusiasm and improving their writing abilities.

The Speaking English Material Needs of Engineering Students for the English Club Program: An ESP Analysis

Needs analysis as the basis of English for specific purposes (ESP) is deemed crucial to identify the target materials or languages used in the teaching-learning process and to design an effective curriculum. This study aims to investigate engineering students' needs for English-speaking materials in the English club program of one private university in Garut. To address the result of ESP analysis, the researchers used the descriptive qualitative method with questionnaires and interviews as the instruments. The need analysis result revealed that the English learning goal for the students in the English club program is to communicate actively in English. Their interest in learning English in this program is to improve their speaking ability to support their formal study as university students since it influences their academic performance and prepares them to fulfill the demands of job requirements in the future. Most students consider that the materials they need to learn are related to job life, academic purposes as engineering students, and social interaction. The result also suggests that the module created by the tutor for the English club program should focus on topics related to job life that are relevant to the current situation.<p> </p>

The Use of Video as a Learning Medium to Increase Interest in Learning English for Students of SDN 01 Wonorejo

Currently, there are many learning media that are very innovative, one of which is video learning media, either videos obtained from Youtube or self-downloaded.The purpose of this study was to determinethe use of video learning media in increasing students' interest in learning at SDN 01 Wonorejo inEnglish lessons.The instruments in this study are in the form of observations and interviews and the analysis techniques are in the form of verbal data, such as notes, suggestions, and comments from students.The result of this study is that the interest in learning and learning motivation of SDN 01 Wonorejo students emerged with the existence of video learning media, because according to them, learning by video seems more interesting and they easily understand the lessons delivered
