Analysis of College Students’ Online Social Media Behavior and Its Impact on Mental Health

Abstract To explore the correlation between college students’ social media behaviors and their mental health in the context of the network era in order to provide some empirical evidence for college students’ mental health education in the new period and new situation. In this paper, we first introduce the attention mechanism to optimize the LSTM network model to extract the features of college students’ online social media behaviors and combine it with the weighted cross-entropy cost function to improve the speed of the model when extracting behavioral features. Then, the fitness function of the genetic algorithm is used to analyze the distance between the feature samples, and the optimal features are selected through the selection strategy and cross-variance operation to obtain the college students’ online social media behavior. The analysis of the impact of social media behavior on mental health found that there is a significant difference in the level of misplaced fear and self-differentiation of students with different average use times of social media (P=0.024<0.05). The score of misplaced fear of students with a use time of less than 1h is only 22.18 points, and the level of self-differentiation reaches 119.86 points. The positive detection rate for depression was 82.61% among students who engaged in negative social media behavior for more than 6 hours. The analysis results of this paper provide reference data for managing college students’ social media behavior and new ideas for improving college students’ mental health.

Foreign Language Learning Beyond the Classroom: College Students’ Learner Autonomy in the Digital Times

In the digital times, learner autonomy or autonomous learning ability is increasingly crucial in a rapidly changing world due to the rapid advances of science and technology. Deemed as the core competence or core literacy of talents in the future world, learner autonomy or autonomous learning ability is the basis of life-long learning and is especially important in the mode of online learning, which was the dominant teaching mode during the pandemic of COVID-19 all over the world, and in the mode of blended teaching, which is the teaching mode commonly employed in universities across China at present. However, according to the research conducted by numerous scholars, autonomous learning ability of Chinese college students is relatively low, with unclear learning objectives, inadequate learning strategies, incompetence to utilize the already abundant learning resources. The present study explored the definition of learner autonomy, its connotations, theoretical bases, factors that affect learner autonomy and the methods to evaluate autonomous learning ability. Based on this, suggestions and pedagogical implications have been proposed, including improving college students’ self-efficacy, strengthening training in learning strategies and optimizing assessment methods.

A Study of The Effects of Feedback on College Students’ Self-Regulated Learning in an Online Learning Environment

Background: Effective feedback positively affects the learning process of students, and its role is manifested in the fact that it can stimulate learning motivation and promote cognition. In self-regulated learning as a learning mode, feedback is also an essential key factor in the process of its activities. Based on the requirements of an online learning environment for college students' self-regulated learning as well as the current situation that the overall level of Chinese college students' self-regulated learning ability is only in the middle, this study hopes to provide feedback based on the process of self-regulated learning, implement feedback for college students using online learning, and explore the impact of feedback on college self-regulated learning to test the utility of feedback. Methods: This study combines literature analysis, experimental research, and a questionnaire to conduct an in-depth study of the impact of feedback on undergraduate self-regulated learning in an online learning environment. Sample: 37 students’ final grade point average in the previous semester is taken as the pre-test score. Based on this data, the study subjects are divided into two groups that are not statistically different. A teaching experiment lasting one semester is conducted on two groups of students: one receiving feedback and the other not, serving as the experimental and control groups. Results: (1) Feedback has a positive impact on college students' self-regulated learning level; (2) Feedback does not have a significant impact on college students' academic performance in the short term. Conclusion: This study investigates three aspects of model construction, feedback design, and empirical evidence to provide feedback based on learners' self-regulated learning processes in online learning environments to improve college students' self-regulated learning.

Data analysis and modeling study of the relationship between physical activity and sleep disorder intervention for college students

Abstract Accompanied by the increasing prevalence of sleep disorders among students in colleges and universities, there is an urgent need for colleges and universities to provide a scientific basis and practical guidance for exercise intervention for sleep disorders among students. In this paper, in order to study the relationship between physical exercise and sleep disorder intervention, after analyzing the etiology and pathology of sleep disorders, we first surveyed students of a university in Guangzhou to analyze the differential characteristics of students’ sleep quality under different statistical variables. Then, a logistic linear regression model was established to analyze the influencing factors of college students’ sleep quality by taking the variables with statistically significant results in the one-way analysis as independent variables and college students’ sleep quality as dependent variables. Finally, college students with more serious sleep disorders in the university were subjected to a semester of walking, running, and soccer physical exercise to analyze the role of physical activity in influencing the intervention of sleep disorders in students. It was found that the PSQI scores of the walking group, running group, and soccer group before and after one semester of walking exercise decreased by 2.29, 3.16, and 3.18 points, respectively, and the scores of the rest of the items decreased to different degrees, which reflected the good effect of the physical exercise intervention on the intervention of sleep disorders. Explore the effects of physical exercise intervention on the quality of sleep among college students and provide practical suggestions for improving college students’ sleep quality through exercise.

AN ANALYSIS OF NON-ENGLISH MAJOR STUDENTS’ ENGLISH WRITING ABILITY BASED ON CORRECTING NETWORK: A CASE STUDY OF PANZHIHUA UNIVERSITY

In the current college education system, for non-English majors, college English is a basic subject with an important position, especially for writing. English writing ability is an expression of English comprehensive ability, which can objectively reflect students’ language application ability. In the teaching of English writing in colleges and universities, it is necessary to innovate the teaching mode and build a modern education system to stimulate students’ enthusiasm for writing. As an automatic composition correction system, the correcting network conforms to the trend of educational informatization and promotes the reform of the traditional writing teaching mode. It is of great help to improve college students’ writing ability. This paper collects the composition data from the two advanced classes of non-English majors in Panzhihua University based on the correcting network. Research methods of experimental, comparative, theoretical, and interview are used to analyze the writing samples to find out some problems. Then some related causes are to be analyzed and some reasonable suggestions to be put forward for teachers and students to make full use of information resources, and strengthen the online interaction, so as to improve students’ English writing ability.

A synergistic nurturing mechanism of party building and civic management education in colleges and universities combining synergistic modeling

Abstract The Construction and practice of collaborative nurturing between party building and ideological and political management education in colleges and universities has been increasingly emphasized under the current field of higher education. Through an organic combination of party building activities and ideological and political education, this mechanism is committed to fostering high-quality talents with socialist core values. In the context of diversification and complexity of higher education, exploring an effective collaborative parenting mechanism is of great significance for improving college students’ ideological and political quality, moral cultivation and social responsibility. This study thoroughly analyzes the collaborative nurturing mechanism of party building and ideological and political education. It clarifies its components, operation mechanism and evaluation model, and provides theoretical support and practical guidance for ideological and political work. Using methods such as literature analysis, questionnaire survey and expert interviews, the study comprehensively analyzes the constituent elements, operation process and evaluation model of the collaborative nurturing mechanism of party building and ideological and political management education. The synergistic educating mechanism in the article improves the political awareness and moral cultivation of college students, in which the satisfaction of the management system is the highest (score 0.876), and the satisfaction of students is relatively low (score 0.518). The study also found that the implementation effect of collaborative parenting between party building and civic management education is closely related to its systematic, integrative, and dynamic adjustment ability. The strategic suggestions put forward in this paper to strengthen the mechanism construction, optimize the resource allocation and enhance the synergy efficiency have advanced to improve the quality and effect of collaborative parenting between Party building and Civic and Political management education in colleges and universities.

Regression analysis of factors affecting college students’ employment motivation: college students’ willingness to receive career guidance

Abstract This study analyzes the factors affecting college students’ employment motivation, especially the influence of college students’ acceptance of employment guidance, to propose effective strategies to improve employment motivation. This paper discusses the factors that affect college students’ employment motivation, with particular attention to their willingness to accept employment guidance. The research methodology included regression analyses of student data, significant data, and career guidance data for undergraduate students at University A between 2018 and 2022. The results showed that factors such as career guidance acceptance, professional knowledge, and interpersonal communication ability significantly affected students’ motivation to find employment. Specifically, students who received career guidance increased their motivation by an average of 15 per cent, while those with professional solid knowledge increased their motivation by 20 per cent. In addition, we found that gender, type of specialization and place of origin significantly affected motivation, and that comprehensive career guidance and targeted educational strategies are essential for improving college students’ motivation.

Integrating psychological film appreciation into the teaching of mental health courses for college students is conducive to popularizing psychological knowledge and improving college students’ mental health awareness; it is helpful to integrate education with entertainment and stimulate the enthusiasm of college students to participate in classroom learning; and it is helpful to interpret others and promote Self-development of college students. Finally, this article combines the author’s teaching experience with examples to illustrate some operable teaching plans, in order to provide some reference and significance for the actual teaching of peers.

하이브리드 수업을 경험한 대학생의 수업 인식 및 교육만족도 분석

Objectives The purpose of this study is to analyze the class perception and education satisfaction of college students who have experienced hybrid classes, find effective ways to improve hybrid classes, and improve college students' perception and education satisfaction.
 Methods To this end, a survey was conducted on 354 college students who experienced hybrid classes at six universities in Chungcheong Province to measure their perception of hybrid classes and educational satisfaction. Descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way variance, and post hoc analysis were conducted to determine the difference between hybrid class awareness and education satisfaction through the collected data. In addition, the impact of hybrid class perception on educational satisfaction was verified through correlation and multiple regression analysis.
 Results As a result of analysis of 354 college students who experienced hybrid classes, first, by grade, fourth-year students showed a higher average perception of hybrid classes than second-year students, and in terms of class participation, students who participated in face-to-face classes showed higher awareness than students who participated in remote classes. Second, among the gender-specific subfactors of educational satisfaction, female students showed a higher average in all items than male students, and in terms of the type of university establishment, national university students showed a slightly higher average than private university students. In addition, students who participated in face-to-face classes showed higher educational satisfaction than students who participated in remote classes, and by grade, 4th grade students showed statistically higher averages in all factors than students of other grades. Lastly, as a result of analyzing the correlation between hybrid class perception and education satisfaction, it was found that among the sub-factors of hybrid class perception, the higher the perception of understanding, interaction, and intention to continue learning, the higher the education satisfaction.
 Conclusions These results provide basic data for the design and improvement of hybrid classes operated at each university, and are meaningful in suggesting limitations and improvement plans for hybrid classes.

대학생의 표준 인식 및 활용 수준에 관한 연구

As global competition intensifies, the pace of technological innovation rapidly accelerates, and demand for new markets increases, standards are emerging as a key tool not only in the national economy and industry, but also in corporate management. Particularly, as the 4th Industrial Revolution, where convergence is a keyword, becomes a hot topic, the importance of standards is being further emphasized. Standards are work for companies, countries, and local communities based on the integrated results of science, technology, and experience. Since the end users of standards are general consumers, general consumers' awareness of the standards is important.
 Recognizing the importance of standards, the world's major advanced countries have been working to cultivate manpower to respond, and the government of the Republic of Korea also recognized the importance of the role of standards in the national economy and has been working to foster standards experts. Especially, it has been revealed that the university standardization course, which began in 2004 with the purpose of cultivating standard manpower required by the industry, has contributed greatly to improving college students' awareness of standards.
 Accordingly, in this study, Survey on students at a university in Seoul where standardization courses are being offered was done regarding their awareness of standards and their importance, and their level of standards knowledge. According to the analysis results, college students' awareness of standards and their importance, and the level of standards knowledge appear to be somewhat high. In particular, standard knowledge was shown to be very high with an average score of 8.7 points, and these results showed that the difference was significant depending on whether or not students took standards class. That is, it can be judged that the standards class had a positive effect on these results. However, compared to the awareness of standards and their importance and the level of standards knowledge, the degree of use of standards was found to be somewhat low. Therefore, it is necessary to add contents and activities for utilizing standards in future standards class.

Improving The Cultivation Of Innovation Ability Of University Students Through Open Laboratories

This paper discusses how to improve the cultivation of college students' innovative ability through open laboratories. Firstly, it introduces the concept and advantages of open laboratories, then analyzes in detail the role of open laboratories in the cultivation of college students' innovation ability, and finally puts forward specific measures to improve college students' innovation ability through open laboratories. Through the implementation of these measures, we aim to improve students' innovation and practice ability, independent learning ability, practical operation ability and comprehensive quality, in order to adapt to the demand for software engineering professionals under the background of new engineering disciplines.

Empowering Introvert Students: How Artificial Intelligence Applications Enhance Speaking Ability

The rapid development of technology has increased the use of Artificial Intelligence (hereafter, AI) applications to improve students’ English skills, especially in speaking skill. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of AI applications to improve the introvert students’ speaking ability. Pre-experimental one group pre-test and post-test design was utilized in this study. This study conducted with 85 introvert students from two universities in Riau, Indonesia chosen by using MBTI test and purposive sampling technique. The data were collected through the questionnaire and speaking test. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 25th version to find out the descriptive statistic, normality test, and paired sample t-test. This finding shed light AI applications were effective in improving the introvert students’ speaking ability. It was proved that the t-test was higher than the t-table value (12.8231.663) with the level of significance p0.05. In short, there was significant difference on the students’ speaking ability before and after using AI applications for English speaking practiced. In conclusion, AI applications can be implemented to improve university students’ speaking ability.

Analysis of the Path of Improving English Listening and Speaking Ability Based on Big Data Technology

Abstract The training of college students’ English listening and speaking skills needs to be individualized scientifically and strategically in order to get a qualitative improvement. In this paper, we first analyze the correlation between students’ listening and speaking skill levels by using the improved maximum information coefficient (MIC) with the aid of an online platform. The students’ listening ability is assessed by the plain Bayesian algorithm, trained by the neural network to reduce the error, and the similarity between the feature vector and each pattern is calculated so that the element that obtains the highest value is used as the candidate mapping. Next, the schema mapping of data distribution (SMDD) method is combined to obtain the best matching schema. Finally, the effectiveness of English listening and speaking training with the Smart Teaching Platform was investigated through controlled experiments. The results show that in the post-test speech scores, the experimental group’s increase in speech scores was 2.322, while the control group’s increase was only 0.652. The effectiveness of the English listening and speaking ability training strategy is evident due to the obvious difference. This study proposes rational suggestions for improving college students’ English listening and speaking abilities.

Research on Strategies for Improving the Employability of Chinese College Students

This dissertation aims to discuss the strategies to improve the employability of Chinese college students and put forward corresponding countermeasure suggestions. Through theoretical analysis, the thesis firstly analyzes the current challenges facing college students' employment, including factors such as fierce social competition and diversified career demands. Subsequently, through the comprehensive use of relevant psychology, pedagogy, career development theory and other disciplinary theories, the importance of college students' career planning is discussed in depth, and strategies to improve college students' employability are comprehensively elaborated. Finally, this paper puts forward a series of feasible countermeasures, including strengthening career planning education, expanding internship and practice opportunities, and establishing a diversified employment service platform, etc., with a view to providing theoretical support and practical guidance for improving the employability of college students.
