PENDAMPINGAN KOMITE SEKOLAH DALAM MENYUSUN PROGRAM KERJA

The school committee is one of the independent institutions that has a role to improve the quality of education. However, the work program of committees at schools is not optimal yet. Like those are in SDN Bohar and SDN Suko. This is due to the lack of socialization regarding the Law on committees and the programs that must be drafted. Therefore, there is a need for socialization and assistance for committee members. The purpose of this dedication is to give knowledge and understanding of the importance of committee in the education unit. The target of this dedication is the caretaker of the school committee in SDN Bohar and SDN Suko with total of 22 people. The method is done in three steps. First, the preparation is done by a field survey by looking at the condition of the school and its committee members. The second stage held a meeting with committee members to explore the roles and tasks of the group. The third stage is in the form of assistance to develop work programs. The target for achievements are the committee caretaker understand their role in the education unit and be able to arrange work programs with the school principal to improve school quality. The result achieved was an increase in the committee's understanding of the Ministry of Education Regulation No.75 of 2016 concerning the school committee and the ability to arrange work programs

Dampak penerapan GSG dimediasi reputasi sekolah terhadap kinerja SMK Swasta di Kota Malang

Vocational Education is a level of education that develops students' abilities to carry out certain types of work. Vocational High Schools have many expertise programs that adapt to the needs of the existing world of work. Good School Governance (GSG) is very much needed in improving school performance, especially vocational high schools in order to be able to improve school quality. The research objectives were to analyze the effect of GSG on school reputation, to analyze the effect of GSG on school performance, to analyze the effect of school reputation on school performance. This research is a quantitative study that describes the impact of the implementation of GSG mediated by the reputation of the school on the performance of private vocational high schools in Malang. The data used are primary data from 43 private vocational high schools in Malang. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling techniques, namely saturated sampling, with the principal respondents of private vocational high schools in Malang City. Data were analyzed using Path Analysis. The results showed that GSG had a significant effect on school reputation, GSG had a significant effect on school performance, school reputation had a significant effect on school performance, GSG had a significant effect on school performance mediated by school reputation.

Role of School Leadership to Improve School Quality Through Hidden Curriculum

AbstractThis study aims to explore the leadership role of school principals in maintaining and developing a hidden curriculum to improve school quality. The research was conducted in schools in the city of Bandung using a survey method. Data collection techniques used an open questionnaire. The results showed that the key to the success of school principals in achieving the objectives of the hidden curriculum refers to two aspects: (a) related to the character of school principals which can be seen in the integrity of female principals, leadership styles, managerial abilities of principals and competence of school principals related to the determinants of the success of the hidden curriculum which includes the authority of the school principal, the role of teachers in overseeing the implementation of the hidden curriculum, support from parents and school autonomy. Hidden curriculum that is formed the school character will improve the quality of the school.

THE PRINCIPAL’S LEADERSHIP STRATEGY IN IMPLEMENTING INCLUSIVE EDUCATION POLICIES IN SMP NEGERI 2 YOGYAKARTA

AbstractEducation is an important thing in human life. The success of an educational institution is largely determined by the leadership role of the principal. The principal is required to be able to bring the school towards the achievement of predetermined goals. Currently, the city of Yogyakarta has established an inclusive school policy as contained in the Regulation of the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Number 21 of 2013 Article 3 concerning the Implementation of Inclusive Education as a form of equity and a form of education without discrimination. However, in reality this policy is not yet clearly known by school principals, so it requires appropriate leadership strategies in dealing with problems and managing good inclusive schools to improve school quality. One of them is SMPN 2 Yogyakarta, which transforms the regular school system into an inclusive school. Therefore, this study aims to identify and describe the issues of inclusive education faced by the principal of SMP Negeri 2 Yogyakarta as well as to describe the leadership strategy of the principal in overcoming issues of school principals in inclusive schools at SMPN 2 Yogyakarta. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with data collection methods using interview techniques, observation, and documentation. The achievements of SMPN 2 Yogyakarta after following the policy to turn schools into inclusive schools include: sports and journalism.

Empowering the Quality of School Resources in Improving the Quality of Education

The aim of this study was to enhance empowering the quality school resources in improving the quality of education in SMA Pasundan 3 Cimahi West Java. The researchers used qualitative research. Observation, interviews and documentation was used in this collecting the data. The result show that empowering school resources is increasing human resources, especially teachers and students, school facility and infrastructure in improving school quality, and alternative ways to improve the quality of education by improving quality teacher education, increasing teaching hours for teachers who lack teaching hours, adding school infrastructure needed by using BOS funds and increasing education development in suburban areas.

Internalization of School Culture to Foster Awareness of Pancasila Values in Elementary School Students

School culture is an integral part of the school that can affect the quality of behavior and can change students' cognitive patterns. The values of Pancasila as the ideology of the nation can be incorporated into school culture as a special feature of education in Indonesia. The importance of internalizing school culture as a process of habituation in growing student awareness must have the support of all school members. The purpose of this study is to foster student's awareness of the values of Pancasila as a view of the life of the Indonesian nation through the internalization of school culture. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection used in this study was field observations, interviews, and document analysis. Analysis of the data used is the display of data, data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results showed that the internalization of school culture to foster awareness of Pancasila values can be done through structuring the maintained and maintained physical environment of the school, structuring the school's social environment with social activities, structuring school personnel with the creation of security, order, and comfort of school residents, classroom management by applying the values of Pancasila in each learning process, the leadership of the principal by synergizing all components of the school, building a solid work spirit, improving school quality. The contribution of this research is that fostering awareness of the values of Pancasila must be done by all schools by optimizing the culture of the school they have.

THE PRINCIPAL’S EFFORTS TO INCREASE THE MOTIVATION AND PERFORMANCE OF TEACHERS AT SDN 005 SEI BERAS-BERAS

This study aims to improve teacher motivation and performance. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that describes the conditions of motivation and performance of the teachers of SDN 005 Sei Beras, totaling 12 people. The research was carried out from October to November 2019. The instruments used in this study were observation and interviews. The results showed that the teacher's motivation in the first cycle had an average of 75.83 which was classified as high category, in the second cycle it reached an average of 84.58 which was included in the very high category. It can be concluded that the teacher's efforts can increase teacher motivation and performance. The efforts made by the principal to increase teacher motivation and performance are through creating a conducive work atmosphere, rewarding teachers who have achievements and innovations in improving school quality, and striving for the provision of facilities and infrastructure that can support learning activities in schools.

School-based management in marginal areas: Satisfying the political context and student needs

This study aims to draw on elements related to the successful implementation of school-based management (SBM). Many studies show the success of governance but the objective is to examine whether SBM is tested to account for improving school effectiveness (SE) and student achievement (SA). A survey method design was used to know how the upper stream including political context, principal leadership and teacher performance (TP) contributes directly and indirectly to improve school quality and academic achievement. Questionnaires were given and were responded by teachers produced a model of direct and indirect structural relationships among the factors. The findings proved that there was a direct and indirect relationship between the upper stream factors that lead to TP to improve SE and SA as a lower stream. This shows how strong the role of a teacher as the central point of the innovation and education reform in schools. This study is limited to the secondary public schools in a marginal district. Furthermore, this study does not investigate deeply into facilitative factors within the implementation process. It focuses on factors that enable schools to bring the SA to scale.

STRATEGI KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MEWUJUDKAN KELAS UNGGULAN DI SMA SAINS AL-QUR’AN WAHID HASYIM YOGYAKARTA

This article discusses the principal's strategy in realizing superior classes at Wahid Hasyim Yogyakarta's Al-Qur'an Science High School. The superior class is given the name international class which is one of the principals' strategies to improve school quality and public trust in the institution. The emergence of superior classes as an encouragement, especially for other classes to further optimize the development of students' interests and talents. This research uses descriptive qualitative method by collecting data by observation, interview and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the principal's strategy in realizing superior classes has a very large impact on the development of students' interests and talents, especially on excellent programs offered by international classes such as science, foreign languages and tahfidz. The program as an international class flagship program to be able to compete globally is proven by the achievements that have been achieved at the national and international levels

School-based quality improvement management for creating green school in central Lampung secondary schools

Greening is very important for several reasons, one of which is that it contributes to dealing with environmental crises and global warming. However, little is known about literature on how to overcome the issues through participation of organizations including schools. This study aims to investigate whether school-based management in Central Lampung secondary schools, Indonesia, can be used to support the realization of green schools to improve the school quality. This study uses a survey questionnaire randomly addressed to the teachers to collect the data based teachers’ perceptions. The data gained from 55 teachers are then analyzed. Result shows that school-based management can be used to help support green schools to improve school quality and contribution to global community goals in decreasing the negative impacts of the global warming phenomenon.

Manajemen Stratejik Pemanfaatan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi untuk Peningkatan Mutu Pembelajaran SMK Ciledug Al Musaddadiyah dan SMKN 1 Garut

So far, in implementing school strategies, they tend not to utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT), despite the availability of ICT resources available. Stages of strategic management are needed to generate the vision, mission, objectives, policy, program, budget, and procedures as well as control and evaluation process as an effort to utilize ICT to improve school quality. Based on the interpretation and the results of the study, it is concluded that schools have organized stages in strategic management that enable schools to have a quality profile. The impact of effective utilization of ICTs for schools is the achievement of effective school management, as per the National Education Standards, which is characterized by effective planning, implementation, control, and evaluation of school ICTs.The purpose of this study is to get a general description, describe, and reveal the Strategic Management of Information and Communication Technology Utilization to Improve the Quality of School Learning in Ciledug Al Musaddadiyah Vocational High School and Garut 1 Vocational High School, both on environmental analysis, strategic formulation, implementation and strategic evaluation. The research method used in this research is the case study method, because the problems studied occur in the place and situation of Ciledug Al Musaddadiyah Vocational School and Vocational High School 1 Garut. The use of case study models in this study is based on the consideration that to provide an overview of the strategic management activities of the use of ICTs carried out at vocational high schools with the ultimate goal of being able to improve the quality of school learning. Based on observations in the field of SMK 1 Garut and SMK Al Musaddadiyah Ciledug Garut is one of the public schools and private schools that have these advantages.

STRENGTHENING OF SCHOOL QUALITY THROUGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL LEADERSHIP

This study aims to analyze and find out the implementation of principals 'leadership through school quality with the long-term goal of improving the quality of schools through principals' leadership. The specific target of this research is to develop a principal's leadership model. The research method uses a qualitative approach through case studies through observation, interviews, document studies relating to the principal's leadership and school quality. The general conclusion is that improving school quality is a process towards the realization of quality schools. Principal's leadership in strengthening school quality can be found in (1) Improving school quality (2) Principal's leadership strategy in improving school quality.

Developing the capacity of education local leaders for sustaining professional learning communities in Rwanda

Constructing school leaders as autonomous professionals through management and leadership training constitutes the first step to releasing their potential to improve school quality. Despite major gains by the Ministry of education in Rwanda, particularly training and recruitment of teachers and introduction of a coordination system to ensure professional development and management of teachers, the education sector is still challenged to ensure that (head) teachers have the capacity to lead and deliver the new competence based curriculum in schools. In this paper, we explore how a partnership established in 2014 between governmental and nongovernmental institutions led to the development and implementation of certified Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs for the Rwandan education sector and present some preliminary findings. We apply the Kirkpatrick evaluation of training framework to present the different results that the CPD programs have brought about at the learning and behaviour change level. Data were composed of different monitoring and evaluation outputs and training assessments that have been produced by the program so far including focus group discussions and pre- and post-surveys on knowledge, attitudes and practices. The partnership has enabled Leaders in Education including Sector education officers, head (deputy) teachers, school based mentors and tutors from teacher training colleges to acquire new competencies for leading school as well as managing and implementing CPD activities at the sector and school levels. Furthermore, the initiated partnership which started with primary schools in 6 districts has grown and expanded to other partnerships with new development partners to upscale the program at secondary school level in 14 districts. This led us to suggest that the same initiatives could be replicated by other partners to enhance professional development of leaders in education in Rwanda or any other country.

Relationship between Transformational Leadership, Compensation, and Organizational Climate with Teachers' Performance

Efforts to improve school quality are carried out by increasing discipline, motivation, job satisfaction, teacher performance, and school performance by taking into account the Organizational Climate factor. The objectives of this study (1) Describe the relationship between Transformational Leadership (X1) and Teacher Performance (Y), (2) Describe the Relationship between Compensation (X2) and Teacher Performance (Y), (3) Describe the Relationship between Organizational Climate (X1) with Teacher Performance (Y),and (4) Describe the Relationship between Transformational Leadership, Compensation, and Organizational Climate with Teacher Performance. This type of research is a field research with a sample of 80 people spread across 8 schools in the city of Mataram. The data retrieval instrument in this study uses a questionnaire as the main tool in data retrieval. Analysis of the data used is the Pearson Product Moment Correlation. The results of data analysis using the SPSS program showed a significant correlation between transformational leadership variables and teacher performance significance variables Sig.(2-tailed) 0,000 <0,05. Significance value Sig. (2-tailed) between compensation variables with variable teacher performance is equal to 0.025 <0.05, meaning that there is a significant correlation between compensation variables with teacher performance variables. Significance value Sig. (2-tailed) between organizational climate variables with variable teacher performance of 0,000 <0,05, meaning that there is a significant correlation between organizational climate variables with teacher performance variables. Simultaneously there is a significant relationship between variables of transformational leadership, compensation, organizational climate and teacher performance.

Improving schools through school choice: An experimental study of deferred acceptance

In the context of school choice, we experimentally study the student-optimal stable mechanism where subjects take the role of students and schools are passive. Specifically, we study if a school can be better off when it unambiguously improves in the students’ true preferences and its (theoretic) student-optimal stable match remains the same or gets worse. Using first-order stochastic dominance to evaluate the schools’ distributions over their actual matches, we find that schools’ welfare almost always changes in the same direction as the change of the student-optimal stable matching, i.e., incentives to improve school quality are nearly idle.

Peran Akreditasi Dalam Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan Di Sekolah Dasar

The Education is a basic human need that is very important. The purpose of this study are (1) to know the commitment of the holy kalam Christian primary school principals in quality assurance, (2) to prepare the accreditation of the holy kalam Christian primary school, and the implementation and follow-up of the results of the accreditation of the holy kalam christian elementary school. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The findings in this study are (1) the form of commitment carried out by the principal in order to maintain quality is done in various ways including optimizing the performance of the school's internal quality assurance system team, (2) there are at least 3 aspects that are prepared in implementing school accreditation, namely aspects of facilities and infrastructure (sarpras), administration, and preparation for the implementation of visitation, and (3) follow-up to improve school quality, the results and accreditation recommendations obtained are taken into consideration by schools in the framework of making policies for improving school quality, as well as improving school facilities and infrastructure. technology-based to support education and learning activities in schools.

Strategi Kepala Sekolah Dalam Meningkatkan Kualitas Sekolah Melalui Pemenuhan Ruang Kelas Yang Memadai

The purpose of this study is to find problems in improving the quality of schools and find strategies that can be done by Principals to improve the quality of schools by fulfilling adequate classrooms. The method used in this study is qualitative. Data collection by observation, interviews, and documentation. Qualitative descriptive data analysis. The results of his research, namely (1) problems in improving school quality, namely the lack of adequate classrooms and (2) strategies that can be carried out by school principals to improve school quality by fulfilling adequate classrooms include: (a) inviting parents students to come to school aim to socialize (explain the problems that exist in the school about the lack of classrooms and the need to fulfill adequate classrooms and plans for the construction of adequate classrooms) and (2) establish partnerships with industry or private companies.

School Financing Strategies in Quality Improvement (Case Study at Sambas 2 State Junior High School)

Financing education in schools is an important thing in effort to improve the quality of education. This study aims to (1) Planning financing strategies in improving school quality; (2) Implementation of financing strategies in improving school quality; and (3) Evaluation of financing strategies in improving school quality. The research approach used is qualitative research with a type of case study research. Data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation in obtaining data. The stages carried out in the research are the stages of preparation, implementation, and reporting. Data were analyzed by analyzing data, compiling data, synthesizing, looking for patterns, finding out what was meaningful, what was researched and decided to be reported systematically. The results obtained from this study are (1) Planning strategies for improving the quality of Sambas 2 State Junior High School compiled and outlined in the form of RKS and RAPBS; (2) Implementation of financing strategies in Sambas 2 State Junior High School using economic unit strategies, donations of school committee funds and parents of students, submitting proposals to the government and school committees and BOS; (3) Evaluation of financing strategies in improving the quality of education in Sambas 2 State Junior High School is carried out through four stages: evaluation of results of activities for a year/semester and/or quarterly, evaluation of employee performance results through programs, evaluation carried out in accordance with organizational mechanisms, and evaluation analysis SWOT includes the results of internal and external analysis; (4) Evaluation of financing strategies at Sambas 2 State Junior High School is done by making school financial reports which are divided into several items according to the technical reporting guidelines. Based on the results of the study stating that the implementation of the quality improvement strategy through financing strategies at Sambas 2 State Junior High School has been running very well and is in accordance with the principles of financial management and the process of improving the quality of the institution.

The Development of A School-Based Conflict Management Model in Aceh Besar Junior High School

This paper aims to find out the causes of conflict in schools, how the style and techniques of conflict management, what are the approaches to conflict management in schools and the influence of schools on conflict-based management models at junior high schools in Greater Aceh. Conflict is a process expressed by two or more parties. Conflict affects all components of the school. Therefore, leaders and teachers must understand the management of conflicts that arise where they can have a positive impact on improving school quality. Furthermore, the authors want to develop a school model of conflict management based. This model is a resolution or stimulation technique to produce the desired resolution, especially in the development of schools based on conflict management models that are focused on producing instrument formulation. Based on the findings of the data, it was concluded that job satisfaction can be improved by increasing conflict management and teacher empowerment by the principal. The results of this study can also be useful for improving the quality of conflict management and teacher empowerment by principals to improve overall job satisfaction.
