Representasi Gaman pada Tokoh Kudou Chika dalam Anime Kono Oto Tomare

This research was conducted to determine the representation of gaman in the character Kudou Chika from the anime Kono Oto Tomare. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research data is in the form of scenes and dialog performed by the character Kudou Chika as a data source. The data collection methods used are library study techniques and observation and note-taking. The theory used in this research is semiotic theory by John Fiske which describes television codes through three levels, namely reality, representation, and ideology. From the results of the research, the representation of gaman is depicted through three characters owned by Kudou Chika, including persistent, patient and diligent. In addition, there are ideology of egoism and cultural nationalism in the anime Kono Oto Tomare.

Translating and Imaging China: Anthologies of Modern Chinese Drama in English Translation

This article is an investigation of English-language anthologies of modern Chinese drama that emerged during the later twentieth century. Since 1970, approximately ten such anthologies have been published in the anglophone world. These anthologies played a critical role in constructing modern Chinese drama as a literary genre and in projecting the image of China as a successful socialist nation. By analysing these ten anthologies in terms of the criteria that influenced the selection of plays, this article aims to shed light on how such translation anthologies contributed to the (re)construction of the image of modern Chinese drama in the English-speaking world. This process of play selection is shaped by two primary factors: the first is the predominant national ideology in the source culture, which affects the thematics of the translation anthologies; the second is the individual aesthetics of the anthologists, which significantly influence their selection of specific plays. The article concludes with a consideration of the varied canon of modern Chinese drama across different moments in the later twentieth century as it has been established by anthologies in English-speaking countries.

This article explores the complex interplay between nationalism and transnational adoption, using the case of Korean adoptees in the United States to highlight how nationalist ideologies and transnational realities intersect and affect individual identities. The argument posits that while nationalism traditionally seeks to create a homogeneous national identity, transnational adoption introduces nuances that challenge these homogenizing forces by presenting a form of hybridity and transnational identity that cannot be easily reconciled with conventional nationalist narratives. It delves into how Korean adoptees navigate their identities between ethnic nationalism in Korea and civic nationalism in the US, suggesting that transnational adoptees live within a tension of being neither fully one nor the other. The purpose of this paper is to deepen the understanding of how transnational adoptees form their identities amidst contrasting nationalisms and to examine the implications of these identities for broader debates on nationalism and globalization. By focusing on Korean adoptees, the paper seeks to illuminate the broader social and political mechanisms at play in shaping transnational identities, thereby contributing to academic discussions in the fields of sociology, cultural studies, and international relations.

The Effect of the STAD Cooperative Learning Model on Students' Cooperation Attitude in the Subject of Pancasila Education

Cooperative learning strategies have been widely recognized for enhancing interpersonal skills and fostering positive student attitudes. The Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) model emphasizes structured group work and individual accountability, which are crucial in cultivating cooperative attitudes. In the context of Pancasila Education—a foundational course aimed at instilling national ideology and character building in Indonesian students—the integration of effective cooperative learning models is essential for promoting social harmony and civic responsibility. This study aims to investigate the effect of the STAD Cooperative Learning Model on students' cooperation attitudes within the framework of Pancasila Education. Specifically, it seeks to determine whether the implementation of the STAD model significantly enhances cooperative behaviors and attitudes among high school students engaged in the Pancasila curriculum. A quasi-experimental research design was employed, involving two groups of high school students enrolled in Pancasila Education classes. The experimental group participated in the STAD cooperative learning model, while the control group followed traditional instructional methods. Data were collected using a validated cooperation attitude questionnaire administered before and after the intervention. The sample comprised 200 students selected through stratified random sampling to ensure representativeness. Statistical analyses, including paired t-tests and ANCOVA, were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the STAD model. Preliminary findings indicate that students exposed to the STAD cooperative learning model exhibited a significant improvement in their cooperation attitudes compared to the control group (p < 0.05). The experimental group showed enhanced abilities in teamwork, communication, and mutual support, aligning with the core principles of Pancasila Education. Additionally, subgroup analyses revealed that the positive effects of the STAD model were consistent across different demographic variables, including gender and socio-economic status.

The author examined the impact of foreign policy strategies of Eastern European states based on nationalist ideology in relation to the Russian Federation and the states of the Russian world, which clearly manifested itself during the crisis of unipolarity in international relations.

Revolutionary women, body, and the limits of nationalist ideology in colonial Bengal: re-reading the memoirs of Bina Das and Kamala Dasgupta

ABSTRACT This paper deals with the memoirs of two Bengali revolutionary women, Bina Das’ Srinkhal Jhankar published in 1948, translated as Bina Das: A Memoir, and Kamala Dasgupta’s Rakter Akshare (Written in Blood) in 1954 to argue how their subjective desire and experience dismantle the gendered rhetoric of nationalism in colonial Bengal. The accounts of Bina and Kamala present their involvement in militant activism and subsequent imprisonment. Notably, there is an inherent urge in their writings to sacrifice life for the nation and a determination not to retreat from the torturous conditions of the colonial prison. The paper contends that the rhetoric of nationalism in colonial Bengal is embedded in hegemonic masculinity that initially confined women to the spiritual and domestic realm and later allowed them to be educated and modern without acknowledging their subjectivity. Activities of these political women thus destabilise the gender discourse prevalent in the private and public sphere of colonial society, which calls for a revision of the nationalist historiography. So, this essay will examine how tropes of the body, self-sacrifice, and penal experience, as produced in these memoirs, negotiate the nationalist ideology, subvert the binary of masculine and feminine, and establish their political subjectivity.

Ungrievable: Theorizing white Christian nationalist rhetorical practices in education

The religiopolitical movement of White Christian nationalism has increasingly impacted policy and practice in public education in the United States. This theoretical paper examines how White Christian nationalist ideologies and rhetoric are influencing the discourse of schooling and education. We use Butler’s (2016) definition of frames, grievability, and precarity in order to describe two underpinning ideologies of White Christian nationalism–namely, dominionism and colonialism. Then, we draw on sociological, historical, journalistic, and theological descriptions of White Christian nationalism to identify rhetorical practices utilized by this growing religiopolitical movement, and also draw on practitioner texts written by Christian teachers as illustrative examples of the ways that White Christian nationalist rhetorical practices might find expression in classrooms and schools. We argue that identifying how ideologies and rhetorical practices of White Christian nationalism influence and affect teachers and students is an important step in considering how educational researchers, policymakers, and teachers might purposefully grapple with how White Christian nationalism is shaping American classrooms.

National ideologies and community awareness in propaganda slogans: A critical discourse analysis in the context of Vietnam

Slogans have long been an essential instrument of mobilization and propaganda in Vietnamese politics, and propaganda slogans have historically been regarded as significant instruments that can be utilized effectively to spread information in virtually every country on earth. Furthermore, it is supposed that these slogans can mirror various facets of society. Utilized by institutions and organizations as a form of discourse, propaganda slogans are nearly encountered by the general public and are intended to promote political campaigns or objectives. In view of critical discourse analysis, the objectives of the present study are to delineate, examine, and identify the sense of national ideologies and community consciousness that are intrinsic to the slogans' language. The study employed the mixed method of document and descriptive analysis. The sample included 900 Vietnamese slogans randomly collected from social networking sites on the internet; from guidelines and propaganda work directions of several ministries, sociopolitical organizations, and associations; and from the process of observing, recording, and photographing slogans on streets, offices, schools or other public places in many different localities. The findings of the study indicated that propaganda slogans can be regarded as both a discourse and a social entity. The language employed in propaganda slogans is regarded not only as a reflection of societal norms and values but also as a social convention encompassing various linguistic aspects, such as the use of vocabulary, grammar and speech acts. Furthermore, propaganda slogans serve as conduits through which various facets of society can be observed, as they are interconnected with the institutional framework and the systems of human perspectives and values.

Reality, stability, dynamism, rigidity, flexibility of the Constitution of the Russian Federation

The artcile first of all, it is emphasized that reality puts on the agenda the question of the fate of the current Constitution of the Russian Federation. The author of the article is a supporter of the development and adoption of a new Basic Law of our country. There are two major factors in favor of this. Firstly, Russia is entering a new stage in the development of society and the state. It demands a new Constitution that would reflect everything new that is connected with him, outline, and determine the prospects for further development. Secondly, since the adoption of the Constitution of the Russian Federation in 1993, changes have been made several times. We especially note the amendments of 2020. Their content and volume, from our point of view, are evidence of a virtually new edition of the Constitution of the Russian Federation. Let us also draw attention to the fact that there is a violation of the consistency and logic of the presentation of constitutional matter. It makes sense to fix this. It is emphasized that when preparing a new Constitution, one should proceed from its main features, which determine its connection with the development of society, its role and place in the life of the country. Those are reality, stability, dynamism, rigidity, flexibility. Today, more than ever, the question of the ideological property, the ideological essence of the Constitution is relevant. So, the most important thing first of all is to determine what the modern, domestic ideology of the Russian people, society, and the Russian state is. At the same time, there is a reasonable demand that, in order to increase the reality of the Constitution, relevant provisions of an ideological nature should be included in its text. This requires its mandatory consideration when preparing the new Basic Law of Russia.

The Influence of Ideology on Translation: A Study of The Russia-Ukraine War

Ideology plays a huge role in translation, and it does affect the end product. The study shows that the influence of translation is influenced by the translator's ideology, the institution's ideology, or even the government's ideology. The study aims to investigate the influence of ideology on the translated text and the nature of ideology's function in translation, particularly during wartime. The study focuses on manipulated texts, headlines, and strategies used by translators as they change or rewrite the product of translation to reflect specific beliefs and viewpoints. The study is restricted to texts about the conflict between Russia and Ukraine; the source texts are in English, and the translations are in Arabic. The researcher applies Lefevere's model (1992) by comparing the source texts with their translations. Additionally, the analysis of the translations in the study makes use of critical discourse analysis following Fairclough's (1995) model. The strategies that were used by the translators to manipulate the texts were omission, addition, and lexicalization. The translators interfere in the ST by changing the intent of the original author without maintaining equivalence. The translations of the examples, taken from the RT Arabic Website, Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA)website, and Al Emarat Alyoum website, reflect points of view about the Russia-Ukraine war in the countries where they are produced; these websites adopted the official government's statements and the position these governments take from the Russia-Ukraine war. As a result, translation can be used and seen as a political tool to accomplish certain objectives. It is advised to conduct more research to look into additional factors influencing translation as well as the authors' intentions.

Crisis Reporting and Professionalism in Journalism: An Analysis of Reporting Practices in Cameroon and Nigeria

ABSTRACT This study examines the dynamics of journalistic professionalism in crisis reporting in Nigeria and Cameroon: countries which have experienced sustained violent secessionist crises since 2015 and 2016 respectively. These crises have led to new approaches to crisis reporting, in which local journalists cover events amid severe violence and the strong nationalist ideologies typical of secessionist movements. Using an innovative mixed method that combines regression analysis and fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA), the article explores the nuances of journalistic professionalism in the reporting of these crises through a survey of 302 journalists from the secessionist regions in these countries. With professionalism operationalized through objectivity, the regression analysis revealed the use of emotions, the inclusion of ideologies on nationalism/secessionism, the freedom of journalists, their use of multiple/variety sources in reporting, and the inclusion of opposing views as factors affecting journalistic objectivity in crisis reporting in Cameroon and Nigeria. The FsQCA results further stress the nuances in the independence of these factors and the complex circumstances where their presence or absence could enhance objectivity in reporting. In this way, the study reveals the dialectics of existing literature on media systems using an innovative methodological approach.

THE EFFECT OF USING HEYDAR ALIYEV'S HERITAGE IN THE TRAINING PROCESS ON THE COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENTS

A wide network of pre-school, general, vocational, secondary and higher education institutions operating in our state today, and a powerful scientific and pedagogical staff potential have their core from the purposeful policy on education carried out under the leadership of Heydar Aliyev in the 70s of the last century, and the comprehensive educational creativity that will be carried out in the future has created a strong foundation of progress. At that time, full-time educational institutions in Azerbaijan rose to the level of modern development compared to previous years, and the consistent national policy implemented in this direction played a special role in raising the educational, general cultural and intellectual level. The life and political active activity of Heydar Aliyev is the founder of the modern history of the Azerbaijani nation, the creator of the free Azerbaijan state and statehood in every citizen of Azerbaijan. It evokes a sense of pride. The life of the national leader, full of struggles, is a living chronicle of a special period, an epoch, which he dedicated to his native nation. For the first time in the history of the Azerbaijani nation, Heydar Aliyev put forward the idea of creating the concept of national ideology, gave recommendations on the work to be done in this field, the areas of application of these works, means and opportunities. The leader attaches special importance to the promotion of the subjects of the Azerbaijani language and Azerbaijani history, religious viewpoints, traditions, and our statehood meetings, and highly valued the work and role of teachers, whom he especially respected, in creating, organizing, and implementing this ideology.

Silo mentality in bureaucratic reform

Background: This article discusses how to overcome silo mentality in bureaucratic reform in an organisation. Method: The qualitative research method is based on case studies and literature reviews. This method involves a critical and in-depth evaluation of previous research to understand sectoral ego and silo mentality in organizational contexts, including government and corporate settings. Findings: There are several things that can be done, one of which is by implementing a better mental revolution based on the values of Pancasila which is the basic ideology of the Indonesian nation. Sectoral ego and silo mentality have the potential to be counterproductive to the strategy of achieving organisational targets and goals. Nonetheless, in the preparation of organisational plans and strategies, it has become customary that organisations set performance targets for each unit derived from the organisation's main targets and objectives. It is an interesting discussion considering that each person or organisational unit always tries and focuses on the respective performance targets that have been set. Conclusion: In some conditions, the choice to focus on their own performance targets is one of the reasons why people exhibit sectoral ego behaviour with silo mentality. By revolutionising the mentality as a strong foundation, it is expected that an organisation can achieve the organisational goals that have been set. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study integrates Pancasila values ​​into strategies to overcome the silo mentality in bureaucratic reform. This innovative approach offers practical solutions to align individual performance with organizational goals, applicable in the Indonesian government and private sectors.

Through the passionate speeches of Alphonse de Lamartine and Louis Blanc, we witness the multifaceted nature of this nationalist sentiment, shaped by political, social, and economic factors. Besides, the significance of this paper lies in its potential to provide insights into how revolutionary fervor and the quest for political change nurtured the growth of nationalist ideologies, ultimately reshaping the political and cultural landscapes of France.

The article provides a scientific basis for the concept of information warfare, its ideological nature and ideological features. Since globalization processes and information society trends have a negative impact on people's consciousness in every region, an important task is to eliminate it and enhance its positive impact. It is impossible to adapt to this phenomenon without studying it deeply and, if necessary, changing its direction accordingly. Failure to thoroughly study the threats in the modern global world, failure to develop a strategy, tactics and technologies for their elimination are equivalent to surrendering the country's economy, culture and spirituality to a torrential flood from the mountains or a sea typhoon.

Studi Mazhab Frankfurt School Jurgen Habermas Dalam Diskursus Etika Politik Indonesia

This study seeks to identify two principles in Jurgen Habermas's discourse, namely Indonesian universal political ethics and Indonesian discourse political ethics. Done by implementing a qualitative description approach with the type of literature study. Data consists of documents that include books, journals, and relevant research results. The collected data will then be understood, recorded, and phrased and then analyzed by actualizing Habermas's discourse theory which contains (Universal Ethics) and (Discourse Ethics). So that conclusions can be drawn. This study states that in universal ethics, the formulation and implementation of the principles of universal political ethics Indonesia uses the philosophy of Pancasila because it is identified as the basis of the state and ideology of the Indonesian nation. Thus, all legal doctrines and legal political mechanisms in Indonesia need to contain the values contained in Pancasila. Meanwhile, discourse ethics states that the ethical principles of Indonesian discourse are carried out with the mechanism of the concept of democracy which focuses on a discourse in a public space. Therefore, the moral principles of ethics only need to be applied in the realm of legal systems and politics (Universal Ethics) not in the realm of democracy (Discourse Ethics). Because discourse upholds the principle of freedom, there is no intervention and does not require moral verification by all participants like universal ethics.

Identity and cultural expression in Nigerian hip hop

This paper explores the profound influence of vernacular language on the construction of identity and ideology within Nigerian hip hop music. By analyzing the lyrics of prominent Nigerian hip hop artists, the study highlights how artists like Olamide, 9ice, and Tuface utilize Nigerian Pidgin and local dialects such as Yoruba to forge a distinct cultural and national identity. These artists not only celebrate their linguistic heritage but also leverage it as a form of resistance against linguistic and cultural imperialism, promoting a nationalist ideology that resonates deeply with their local audience. The paper argues that the incorporation of vernacular language in Nigerian hip hop goes beyond mere artistic choice; it serves as a critical tool for social and political commentary. This linguistic strategy enables artists to address and critique socio-economic inequalities and political issues, making hip hop a voice for the marginalized. Moreover, the study sheds light on how the use of local dialects and pidgin enhances the accessibility and relatability of the music, thereby strengthening the bond between artists and their audiences. This exploration into the intersection of language, identity, and ideology in Nigerian hip hop not only enriches our understanding of the genre's cultural significance but also underscores the dynamic role of language in shaping artistic and social landscapes. The paper contributes to broader discourses on language policy, cultural expression, and identity politics within the global context of hip hop.

In addition, Pancasila is able to maintain cultural and religious diversity in Indonesia, so as to strengthen tolerance and togetherness between citizens

The Politics of Islamophobia in Indonesia: Reacting Religious Issues in Politics

This research analyses the political ramifications of Islamophobia in Indonesia, particularly how the apprehension linked to radical Islamic ideologies shapes the responses of government and political entities. Utilising a qualitative library research approach, this paper scrutinises an array of academic books, peer-reviewed journals, and scholarly articles to explore the interplay between religious anxieties and political measures. The findings indicate that the government's approach to combating perceived threats from Islamic movements involves strict enforcement of Pancasila, alleviation of fears regarding the replacement of national ideology by a caliphate, and promotion of religious moderation to deter extremism. The study highlights the politicisation of radicalism and Islamophobia, revealing the strategic use of these concerns to influence public policy and political discourse in Indonesia.

Reflections on Jewish nationalism, militarism and ageing masculinity in Yoram Kaniuk’s novel Scums

ABSTRACT This article offers a nuanced understanding of novelist Yoram Kaniuk’s national ideology as a representative of a generation, as well as unveils personal, untreated trauma as reflected in his writing. By way of doing so, it employs two research approaches: a literary speculative fiction interpretation examined through a lens of alternative history, and a cultural sociology perspective based on the concepts of ‘Imagined Communities’ and ‘Liquid Modernity’. On a broader level, his novel Scums portrays the deep disillusionment and disappointment experienced by veterans of Israel’s founding generation, who felt abandoned by their successors and betrayed by their values. On a personal level, Kaniuk’s writing reflects military flashbacks that significantly impacted his post-traumatic state of mind, which in turn influenced the way he perceived, described, and interpreted the historical fragments of his generation. Considering Kaniuk’s discomfort in discussing issues that deeply concerned him, he found solace and liberation through the medium of writing, which enabled him to express his thoughts and emotions, shouting them onto the page, unburdening himself, and making sense of his experiences. Thus, by writing in an unapologetic and candid manner, Kaniuk navigated the complexities of his inner world and external challenges, embracing his own truth and carving out a place for himself to be heard.
