The position that the quality of training in higher education was evaluated by the level of knowledge, abilities and skills was substantiated for a long time. Currently, the global situation has changed. And that is why new approaches to developing methods and tools for evaluating the quality of training of future specialists are needed. The purpose of the article was to consider the methodological aspects of assessing the quality of professional training of specialists in economic colleges and to characterize scientific approaches to the diagnosis of the results of professional training of specialists in institutions of vocational higher education of an economic profile. In the process of research, the provisions of qualitative and systematic approaches, methods of comparative analysis of the content of domestic and foreign scientific publications devoted to the theory and practice of evaluating the quality of professional training of specialists were used. The methodological problems of measuring students' knowledge and the adequacy of their evaluation from the point of view of implemented professional standards were determined. Various approaches to evaluating the quality of education and its results were described; assessment procedure and the main tools as well as the criteria, parameters, indicators and norms were highlighted as guidelines in the selection of evaluation standards. It has been established that the current stage of development of domestic professional higher education is determined by the competence orientation of the educational system, the main result of which is the formation of future professional junior bachelors' abilities to effectively carry out professional activities. In general, the quality of professional training of specialists in economic colleges was determined by establishing the compliance of the training results of education seekers with the requirements of qualification standards or educational and professional programs. Definition and application of principles, formulation of goals, selection and structuring of content, definition of objects, subjects, design of means, methods and forms of evaluation will provide an opportunity to create an effective system of diagnostics of the quality of training of professional junior bachelors in economic colleges.
