Scalable multiparty steering using a single entangled photon-pair

The distribution and verification of quantum nonlocality across a network of users is essential for future quantum information science and technology applications. However, beyond simple point-to-point protocols, existing methods struggle with increasingly complex state preparation for a growing number of parties. Here, we experimentally demonstrate multiparty detection-loophole-free quantum steering, where one party simultaneously steers multiple spatially separate parties, using a multi-qubit state produced from a set of qubits of which only one pair is entangled. We derive loss-tolerant steering inequalities, enabling our experiment to close the detection loophole, and enabling us to show the scalability of this approach to rigorously verify quantum nonlocality across arbitrarily many parties. This provides practical tools for developing the future quantum internet.

Enhancing Epilepsy Awareness and Cooperative Care in Elementary and Middle Schools

Epilepsy, a prevalent chronic neurological disorder, presents numerous challenges for people with epilepsy (PWEs) and their caregivers. They experience difficulties in receiving proper care and support due to stigma and misconceptions. Promoting public awareness in early education would be critical to reduce the stigma and to properly support them. We conducted 145 surveys and 21 interviews with teachers, school nurses, and parents of elementary and middle school students. While the participants exhibited slightly positive attitudes towards PWEs, we identified obstacles that hinder learning about epilepsy and seizure first aid: inadequate education and limited information sharing among school stakeholders. Moreover, there is a pressing need for age-appropriate education that considers the students' ages and perceptual levels. Considering the current limitations and needs, we propose potential implications for future information and communication technologies (ICTs) designs, including knowledge-sharing systems and an educational game aimed at enhancing epilepsy awareness and fostering collaborative care in elementary and middle school environments.

Methods of teaching motor skills and professional orientation skills of information major students in the process of physical education

The article examines the motor skills and characteristics of the psyche of future information technology specialists, which made it possible to determine those indicators that directly affect the educational achievements of students of higher education and to develop model characteristics of the formation of motor skills and professional orientation skills of students of information specialties. At the same time, the relationship between the indicators of special motor training and the level of professional training of future information technology specialists has been determined, and the structure of psychophysical training for the successful mastery of professional abilities and skills of the future specialty in the field of information technology has been determined. The differentiation of physical education of students of higher education according to gender, motivational aspirations and future specialty is substantiated, and on this basis, a methodology for the formation of motor skills and professional orientation skills of future information technology specialists is developed.

Designing for caregiving networks: a case study of primary caregivers of children with medical complexity.

The study aimed to characterize the experiences of primary caregivers of children with medical complexity (CMC) in engaging with other members of the child's caregiving network, thereby informing the design of health information technology (IT) for the caregiving network. Caregiving networks include friends, family, community members, and other trusted individuals who provide resources, information, health, or childcare. We performed a secondary analysis of two qualitative studies. Primary studies conducted semi-structured interviews (n = 50) with family caregivers of CMC. Interviews were held in the Midwest (n = 30) and the mid-Atlantic region (n = 20). Interviews were transcribed verbatim for thematic analysis. Emergent themes were mapped to implications for the design of future health IT. Thematic analysis identified 8 themes characterizing a wide range of primary caregivers' experiences in constructing, managing, and ensuring high-quality care delivery across the caregiving network. Findings evidence a critical need to create flexible and customizable tools designed to support hiring/training processes, coordinating daily care across the caregiving network, communicating changing needs and care updates across the caregiving network, and creating contingency plans for instances where caregivers are unavailable to provide care to the CMC. Informaticists should additionally design accessible platforms that allow primary caregivers to connect with and learn from other caregivers while minimizing exposure to sensitive or emotional content as indicated by the user. This article contributes to the design of health IT for CMC caregiving networks by uncovering previously underrecognized needs and experiences of CMC primary caregivers and drawing direct connections to design implications.

DNA as a universal chemical substrate for computing and data storage.

DNA computing and DNA data storage are emerging fields that are unlocking new possibilities in information technology and diagnostics. These approaches use DNA molecules as a computing substrate or a storage medium, offering nanoscale compactness and operation in unconventional media (including aqueous solutions, water-in-oil microemulsions and self-assembled membranized compartments) for applications beyond traditional silicon-based computing systems. To build a functional DNA computer that can process and store molecular information necessitates the continued development of strategies for computing and data storage, as well as bridging the gap between these fields. In this Review, we explore how DNA can be leveraged in the context of DNA computing with a focus on neural networks and compartmentalized DNA circuits. We also discuss emerging approaches to the storage of data in DNA and associated topics such as the writing, reading, retrieval and post-synthesis editing of DNA-encoded data. Finally, we provide insights into how DNA computing can be integrated with DNA data storage and explore the use of DNA for near-memory computing for future information technology and health analysis applications.

Building and characterizing a stylus ion-trap system

Cold trapped ions can be excellent sensors for ultra-precision detection of physical quantities, which strongly depends on the measurement situation at hand. The stylus ion trap, formed by two concentric cylinders over a ground plane, holds the promise of relatively simple structure and larger solid angle for optical access and fluorescence collection in comparison with the conventional ion traps. Here we report our fabrication and characterization of the first stylus ion trap constructed in China, aiming for studying quantum optics and sensing weak electric fields in the future. We have observed the stable confinement of the ion in the trapping potential for more than two hours and measured the heating rate of the trap to be dε/dt = 7.10 ± 0.13 meV/s by the Doppler recooling method. Our work starts a way to building practical quantum sensors with high efficiency of optical collection and with ultimate goal for contributing to future quantum information technology.

Modern approaches to the organization of physical education in the sphere of information technologies taking into account the conditions of their professional activities

The article presents a study of the scientific works of leading researchers on physical education in institutions of higher education, which allow us to assert its insufficient humanistic and professional orientation, confirm the absence of a scientifically based model of the system of physical education in the country as a whole and specifically in each institution of higher education in accordance with its training profile. It is shown that during the development of educational and work programs for students of higher education in accordance with modern technologies, specialists of physical education departments of higher education institutions need to take into account the specifics of a specific future profession, as well as the gender and individual characteristics of those who study in connection with the heterogeneity of the student contingent . At the same time, the professional activity of information technology specialists is characterized, in addition to the presence of important mental and personal qualities inherent in general professional activity, as well as the presence of individual skills for working on or with a computer, as well as specific conditions of study and work, which impose an additional imprint on the structure of special applied physical training of students of higher education.
 It has been established that the issue of physical education of future information technology specialists is represented in the literature only by isolated studies, there are no centralized methodical instructions, recommendations, training manuals on issues of its organization in institutions of higher education. The attention of specialists was focused only on the study of the role of dexterity for the successful professional activity of specialists, and the importance of the mental characteristics of the development of the body of students of information specialties (attention, memory, etc.) during the performance of their professional duties was also shown. At the same time, there are no works aimed at researching the formation of motor skills and skills of a professional orientation in the process of physical education, taking into account the gender and the future specialty of an information technology specialist.

She’s worth IT: challenges for female CIOs in ensuring IT security compliance

PurposeIT security compliance is critical to the organization’s success, and such compliance depends largely on IT leadership. Considering the prevalence of unconscious gender biases and stereotyping at the workplace and growing female leadership in IT, the authors examine how the internalization of stereotype beliefs, in the form of the employee’s gender, impacts the relationships between leadership characteristics and IT security compliance intentions.Design/methodology/approachA controlled experiment using eight different vignettes manipulating Chief Information Officer (CIO) gender (male/female), Information Technology (IT) expertise (low/high) and leadership style (transactional/transformational) was designed in Qualtrics. Data were gathered from MTurk workers from all over the US.FindingsThe findings suggest that both CIOs' and employees' gender play an important role in how IT leadership characteristics – perceived expertise and leadership style – influence the employees' intentions and reactance to comply with CIO security recommendations.Research limitations/implicationsThis study's findings enrich the security literature by examining the role of leadership styles on reactance and compliance intentions. They also provide important theoretical implications based on gender stereotype theory alone: First, the glass ceiling effects can be witnessed in how men and women employees demonstrate prejudice against women CIO leaders through their reliance on perceived quadratic CIO IT expertise in forming compliance intentions. Secondly, this study's findings related to gender role internalization show men and women have a prejudice against gender-incongruent roles wherein women employees are least resistive to transactional male CIOs, and men employees are less inclined to comply with transactional female CIOs confirm the findings related to gender internationalization from Hentschel et al. (2019).Practical implicationsThis study highlights the significance of organizations and individuals actively promoting gender equality and fostering environments that recognize women's achievements. It also underscores the importance of educating men and women about the societal implications of stereotyping gender roles that go beyond the organizational setting. This research demonstrates that a continued effort is required to eradicate biases stemming from gender stereotypes and foster social inclusion. Such efforts can positively influence how upcoming IT leaders and employees internalize gender-related factors when shaping their identities.Social implicationsThis study shows that more work needs to be done to eliminate gender stereotype biases and promote social inclusion to positively impact how future IT leaders and employees shape their identities through internalization.Originality/valueThis study redefines the concept of “sticky floors” to explain how subordinates can hinder and undermine female leaders, thereby contributing to the glass ceiling effect. In addition, the study elucidates how gender roles shape employees' responses to different leadership styles through gender stereotyping and internalization.

Subject-related communicative language competence: Exploring future information technology specialists' learning and teaching

The need for IT professionals with fluency in foreign languages becomes increasingly critical as the Kazakhstani government implements steps to foster IT innovation. However, there are structural, geographical and professional imbalances in the interaction of supply and demand for IT professionals who can speak a foreign language in the modern labour market which is the main problem that is currently hindering the growth of the IT sector in Kazakhstan. The aim of this study was to assess the development of subject communicative language competencies (a) in linguistic or grammatical ability and (b) in discourse ability in first-year students for the proposed author's innovative learning technique in the educational process as well as the appropriate technological and systematic procedures. A mixed-research method was used in this study. The study involved 365 learners in the "Informatics" direction at the International University of Information Technologies in Almaty, Kazakhstan during the school year 2021-2022. According to the findings, the experiment participants did not develop subject-related communicative language competencies. The results show that the degree of capability formation is not satisfactory. 52.8% is the basic level, 41.6% is the production point and only 5.8% is the high level. Positive dynamics shaping learners' subject-related language communication competencies were identified as a result of the implementation of innovative techniques. This paper contributes to the research on teaching IT students in developing countries and highlights the most important factors that contribute to improve the level of subject-related communicative language competencies of IT students.

Anomalous Hall Transport by Optically Injected Isospin Degree of Freedom in Dirac Semimetal Thin Film.

Chirality of massless fermions emerging in condensed matter is a key to understand their characteristic behavior as well as to exploit their functionality. However, the chiral nature of massless fermions in Dirac semimetals has remained elusive, due to equivalent occupation of carriers with the opposite chirality in thermal equilibrium. Here, we show that the isospin degree of freedom, which labels the chirality of massless carriers from a crystallographic point of view, can be injected by circularly polarized light. Terahertz Faraday rotation spectroscopy successfully detects the anomalous Hall conductivity by a light-induced isospin polarization in a three-dimensional Dirac semimetal, Cd3As2. Spectral analysis of the Hall conductivity reveals a long scattering time and a long decay time, which are characteristic of the isospin. The long-lived, robust, and reversible character of the isospin promises a potential application of Dirac semimetals in future information technology.

(Invited) Quest for Fully Spin and Optically Polarized Semiconductor Nanostructures for Room-Temperature Opto-Spintronics

Spintronics represents a new paradigm for future electronics, photonics and information technology, which explores the spin degree of freedom of the electron for information storage, processing and transfer. Since 1990s, we have witnessed great success of metal-based spintronics that has revolutionized the mass data storage industry. There has also been an enormous push for semiconductor spintronics during the past three decades, with the aim to capitalize the past and current success of charge-based semiconductor technology and to make its spin counterpart the backbone of future spintronics just like semiconductors have done in today’s electronics/photonics. An exclusive advantage of semiconductor spintronics is its potential for opto-spintronics that will allow integration of spin-based information processing and storage with photon-based information transfer and communications. Unfortunately, progresses of semiconductor spintronics have so far been severely hampered by the failure to generate nearly fully spin-polarized charge carriers in semiconductors at and above room temperature (RT) at which today’s devices operate.In this work, we succeed to achieve conduction electron spin polarization exceeding 90% at RT in a semiconductor nanostructure, which remains steadily high even up to 110°C [1]. This represents the highest RT electron spin polarization ever reported in any semiconductor by any approach! This breakthrough is accomplished by a conceptually new approach of defect-engineered remote spin filtering and amplification of InAs quantum-dot (QD) electrons via an adjacent tunneling-coupled GaNAs quantum well acting as a spin filter. The extraordinary spin filtering effect in GaNAs is enabled by spin-dependent recombination via spin-polarized defects, i.e. grown-in Ga self-interstitials, which selectively deplete conduction electrons with an opposite spin orientation to that of the defect electron. In sharp contrast to the general trend of deteriorating spin polarization with increasing temperature seen in all other approaches of spin generation, our approach is gifted with an opposite temperature dependence up to RT thanks to a thermally accelerated remote spin-filtering effect as a result of thermally activated recombination via the defects [2]. We further show that the QD electron spin can be remotely manipulated by spin control in the adjacent spin filter, paving the way for remote spin encoding and writing of quantum memory as well as for remote spin control of spin-photon interfaces. This work demonstrates the feasibility to implement opto-spintronic functionality under practical device operation conditions in a semiconductor nanostructure system based on the mature III-V semiconductor technology commonly used for today’s optoelectronics and photonics. It could also pave the way for a range of potential spintronic and opto-spintronic applications exploiting the state-of-the-art GaAs technology platform, such as spin-LEDs, spin lasers, spin-polarized single-photon sources, quantum spin-photon interfaces, spin qubits, etc.

Emerging Robust Polymer Materials for High-Performance Two-Terminal Resistive Switching Memory.

Facing the era of information explosion and the advent of artificial intelligence, there is a growing demand for information technologies with huge storage capacity and efficient computer processing. However, traditional silicon-based storage and computing technology will reach their limits and cannot meet the post-Moore information storage requirements of ultrasmall size, ultrahigh density, flexibility, biocompatibility, and recyclability. As a response to these concerns, polymer-based resistive memory materials have emerged as promising candidates for next-generation information storage and neuromorphic computing applications, with the advantages of easy molecular design, volatile and non-volatile storage, flexibility, and facile fabrication. Herein, we first summarize the memory device structures, memory effects, and memory mechanisms of polymers. Then, the recent advances in polymer resistive switching materials, including single-component polymers, polymer mixtures, 2D covalent polymers, and biomacromolecules for resistive memory devices, are highlighted. Finally, the challenges and future prospects of polymer memory materials and devices are discussed. Advances in polymer-based memristors will open new avenues in the design and integration of high-performance switching devices and facilitate their application in future information technology.

CRITERIA AND INDICATORS OF THE LEVEL OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALISTS

The training of specialists under the conditions of the modern information society requires them to have a certain level of professional competence. The problem of formation and development of professional competence of future information technology specialists remains relevant. It is proposed to implement the process of developing this quality within the framework of the professional competence formation model, one of the stages of which is the diagnosis of the initial state of professional competence. The article specifies the concepts of "criterion", "indicator", "level"; general requirements for the criteria are defined. Based on the analysis of scientific and pedagogical research, regulatory documents, professional training experience, the criteria for the formation of the professional competence of future IT specialists have been identified, which reflect its structural components: motivational (level of formation of motives, needs, values regarding the performance of professional activities), content (availability of a knowledge system from the field of information technologies), technological (the degree of practical application of knowledge and skills when solving professionally oriented tasks) and subjective (professionally important qualities of a future specialist in information technologies and the ability to reflect on educational and professional activities). Formulated criteria made it possible to determine the relevant indicators. Four levels of formation of professional competence of future IT specialists are distinguished and substantiated: reproductive (initial), conscious (average), productive (sufficient) and creative (high). The further direction of research on this problem is the expansion of the diagnostic apparatus for assessing the level of formation of professional competence of future IT specialists.

Designing an ultra-efficient Hamming code generator circuit for a secure nano-telecommunication network

Communication links forming secure telecommunications networks rely on various technologies such as message switching, circuit switching, or packet switching to transmit messages and data. Hamming codes, a family of linear error-correcting codes, are commonly used in communication networks to detect and correct one-bit and two-bit errors. However, reducing power consumption, occupied area, and latency in secure telecommunication networks remains a challenge for future information and communication technology. To address these challenges, emerging technologies like quantum dots offer potential solutions. Quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) stands as a promising frontier in nanotechnology for enhancing secure telecommunications networks. It opens up the possibility of crafting high-performance, energy-efficient digital circuits. This research harnesses the potential of QCA and introduces groundbreaking innovations: a 3-8 decoder employing a single-layer layout and a 3-input XOR gate with a multi-layer configuration. These components are utilized in the design of an electronic circuit for Hamming codes, incorporating the QCA-based approach. It is important to note that practical implementation in real-world scenarios presents challenges due to the nature of QCA technology. As a result, the evaluation and validation of the proposed designs heavily rely on simulations using QCADesigner. While experimental validation in real-world scenarios is limited, the simulations provide insights into the functionality and feasibility of the suggested designs. By leveraging QCA, the proposed Hamming code circuit significantly enhances cell count, occupied area, and clock latency. The suggested design can be adapted to fit different generating matrices in Hamming codes without requiring drastic modifications to the underlying architecture.

The Power of Ethics: Uncovering Technology Risks and Positive Value Potentials in IT Innovation Planning

The digital transformation of the economy is accelerating companies’ engagement in information technology (IT) innovation. To anticipate which technologies will become relevant over time and integrate them in their innovation plans, companies often rely on product roadmaps as strategic tools. However, ethical issues resulting from ubiquitous IT use have shown the need to accommodate hyped technical advancements in information systems (IS) design and acknowledge human values with moral relevance. Scholars have argued that this moral relevance can only come from an ethical framework. The empirical study presented here investigates whether the three ethical theories of utilitarianism, virtue ethics, and deontology can complement traditional innovation planning approaches. The mixed-method study covers three IT products – a digital toy, a food-delivery app and a telemedicine system. The results reveal that the three ethical theories boost creativity around values and enrich IT innovation planning by supporting the acknowledgment of more and higher value principles (e.g., freedom or personal growth), more diverse value classes (e.g., individual and social values) as well as more original values (e.g., human contact) in system design. What is more, participants identify and mitigate potential social and ethical issues associated with the IT product. Against this background, the findings in this paper suggest that a “value-based roadmapping” approach could be a vital stimulus for future IT innovation planning.

Prediction of nonlayered oxide monolayers as flexible high-κ dielectrics with negative Poisson’s ratios

During the last two decades, two-dimensional (2D) materials have been the focus of condensed matter physics and material science due to their promising fundamental properties and (opto-)electronic applications. However, high-κ 2D dielectrics that can be integrated within 2D devices are often missing. Here, we propose nonlayered oxide monolayers with calculated exfoliation energy as low as 0.39 J/m2 stemming from the ionic feature of the metal oxide bonds. We predict 51 easily or potentially exfoliable oxide monolayers, including metals and insulators/semiconductors, with intriguing physical properties such as ultra-high κ values, negative Poisson’s ratios and large valley spin splitting. Among them, the most promising dielectric, GeO2, exhibits an auxetic effect, a κ value of 99, and forms type-I heterostructures with MoSe2 and HfSe2, with a band offset of ~1 eV. Our study opens the way for designing nonlayered 2D oxides, offering a platform for studying the rich physics in ultra-thin oxides and their potential applications in future information technologies.

The structural-content model of forming the soft skills of future specialists

One of the main priorities of the country's educational policy, along with increasing the availability of high-quality vocational education that meets the requirements of innovative economic development and the needs of society and its members, is the formation of a system of skills that ensure the free integration of future spe-cialists into the world labor market. Future specialists should be ready to adapt to the rapidly changing condi-tions of international competition, constantly improve their professional level, constantly develop the ability to work effectively in their specialty, form a professional career. In particular, the issue of improving the quality and effectiveness of training specialists in information and communication technologies is of particu-lar relevance. In this regard, in this article, based on the methodology of scientific research, a systematic ac-tivity approach, a meaningful approach, and an axiological approach are chosen as approaches to the study of the formation of soft skills of future information and communication technology (ICT) specialists. The results of fundamental research conducted in the countries of the far and near abroad on the training of ICT special-ists and the formation of soft skills for the development of a model for the formation of soft skills of future ICT specialists are analyzed. In addition, the article highlights the interrelated components that ensure the ho-listic and systematic functioning of the structural and content model for the formation of soft skills of future ICT specialists: 1) purpose; 2) content; 3) technology; 4) result, 5) reflexive. It is important to constantly in-crease your professional interest, desire for achievements, professional level, improve decision-making skills in the face of changing uncertainty, forming soft skills of future ICT specialists

Amplification and Dynamic Control of Circularly Polarized Luminescence in Poly (vinyl Alcohol)/CdSe@CdS Nanorod Assembly Twisted‐Stacking Hetero‐Structures

AbstractChiroptical materials with strong and switchable circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) properties have gained considerable interest due to their feasible applications in optoelectronic devices, sensing, and information encryption. However, in most cases, their luminescence dissymmetry factor (glum) and figure of merit (FOM) values remain very low. Herein, a novel heterogeneous twisted‐stacking structure is proposed, which endows with strong CPL amplification (a maximum of ≈15‐fold enhancement) over traditional homogeneous structures and a high FOM value up to 0.11. Interestingly, their CPL performance (including the sign, magnitude, and spectral position) and the FOM values can be precisely manipulated or even inversed by simply uniaxial stretching, since the phase retardation of the anisotropic poly (vinyl alcohol) layer can be controlled. Moreover, by combining with the viologen gel electrochromic system, the in situ voltage‐driven switching and patterning of the CPL signal can be successfully achieved, with low operation voltage and good cycling stability. This study provides a creative strategy for fabricating strong and electrical switchable CPL‐active materials, which promise new opportunities in miniaturized smart electrochiroptical devices for future information technology.

Suppression of ferromagnetism due to N co-doping in Cr(II)-doped ZnS nanowires and their optical properties: Insights from density-functional calculations

Spin-related optical properties will be the main basis for future information technology, but they require microscopic ferromagnetic and anti-ferromagnetic couplings between the d-states of the transition metal ions or magnetic interaction between excitons and magnetic ions, all of which remain unclear in these diluted magnetic semiconductors.In this work, we studied the influence of Cr doping and co-doping of Cr with N on the electronic, optical, and magnetic properties of ZnS nanowires using spin-polarized density functional theory. According to our findings, Cr(II) doping induces a half-metallic state with a magnetic moment of 4 μB per Cr(II) ion. The ferromagnetic behaviors and high Curie temperature in undoped Cr(II)-doped ZnS nanowires were suppressed due to the hole-carriers introduced by N co-doping. The band-coupling model was used to explain ferromagnetic (FM) stability in Cr(II)-doped nanowires with and without N co-doping. The optical properties of undoped ZnS nanowire, doped, and co-doped wires have been computed, and it is found that the bandgap (3.49 eV) exhibits a red shift upon Cr(II) doping, with the energy bandgap falling from 3.49 to 3.20 eV, and the bandgap being further decreased to 3.05 eV upon N co-doping. Compared with pure ZnS nanowires, mono- and co-doped nanowires have a higher electron-hole pair formation rate and better optical properties. The d-state to d-state transitions of the Cr(II) ion in the wire occur in the mid-infrared and near-infrared red regions and are shifted to the high energy side by N co-doping. Furthermore, we correlated the optical band gap of ZnS nanowire and the d-d transition peak of Cr ions under different modes of magnetic coupling, and we found that the optical band gap and d-state to d-state transition peaks of Cr(II) ions shift to lower and higher energies in FM and AFM configurations, respectively. Such a shift in bandgap and d-d transition peaks of Cr(II) ions in the FM and AFM states of the far configuration was not observed.

STANDARDIZATION OF IT EDUCATION AT THE PRESENT STAGE: A COMPARATIVE ASPECT

The field of information technologies is one of the most promising both in the world and in Ukraine. Currently, there are much more vacancies for IT specialists on the labor market than, in fact, for specialists. The issue of improving the quality of professional training of future information technology specialists, the level of their professional competence, which would meet the needs of the IT industry and the requirements of employers, is becoming urgent. The article is devoted to the correlation and comparison of the standards of higher education for the training of IT specialists with international requirements and classifications of professions. To achieve the goal of the research, the requirements of the standards of higher education in the field of knowledge 12 Information Technologies, the National Classifier of Professions and international documents: Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system, Computing Curricula 2020, European e-Competence Framework (e-CF) were analyzed and summarized. The distribution of higher education applicants in Ukraine by the number of educational institutions that train IT specialists was analyzed, it was found that the largest number of institutions focused on training future specialists in the specialty 122 Computer science. A comparison of professional types of work testified to the incompleteness of the National Classifier of Professions regarding the nomenclature of modern professions in the IT industry, in particular in the "Specialists" section. The interrelationship of IT specialties is analyzed through the analysis of the objects of activity and the theoretical content of the subject areas described in the standards of higher education, the importance of fundamental mathematical training in educational institutions is noted. The connection and differences between the basic profiles of Computing Curricula 2020 and specialties of the field of knowledge 12 Information technologies are determined.
