Clarifying the Creative level of the Expressive Therapies Continuum: A different dimension

The Expressive Therapies Continuum (ETC) originally incorporated creativity as the Creative “level.” This denotation as a separate level is a misnomer because creativity can be present at any ETC level. Also, innate distinctive characteristics of the creative process differ from those of the other three levels. The objectives of this article are to help delineate the features of the Creative “level” within the ETC, designate its name as a Creative “dimension” to avoid confusion, and to provide case illustrations to help clarify these concepts. Creative functioning within the ETC model has been described as the integrative and self-actualizing forces within the individual occurring during expressive activities. Creative functioning has been described as comprising moments of self-realization and unique self-expression associated with well-being. These moments share similarities with the concepts of Flow, everyday creativity, small-c creativity, and mini-c creativity; concepts that can further describe creative activity in art therapy.

Design Inspiration Naturalism on Apparels

Nature is the main visual apparel design sources of inspiration have a creative function. Clothing design is examined in terms of its early phases of development, how design inspiration is acquired, and how it affects clothing design's creativity and uniqueness, among other things. Naturalism's objectivity is shown by its interest in human nature and its factual portrayal in scientific ways with the goal of discovering the genuine meaning of human existence in nature. To begin, we'll go through the terms "naturalism" and "natural clothing" in brief. Nature-friendly and high value modem designs may be created by grafting natural pictures onto human bodies, according to the paper's notions. Trickster “Tipsy Lady” in Folklore of Taxi Drivers

The characteristic features of the trickster “tipsy lady”, formed in the folklore of taxi drivers, are investigated. The authors consider the modern type of rogue character, who plays the role of a tipsy taxi passenger and is a comic asocial character that performs both destructive and creative functions. Based on the analysis of the authentic material of urban folklore (the folklore of taxi drivers), the authors of this study for the first time identified the main features that determine this type. It is shown that by introducing dis-harmony and chaos into the “foreign” environment (the sphere of “habitation” of taxi drivers), the trickster “tipsy lady” tries to assert herself in it. It is noted that the character of oral stories and tales is characterized by unwillingness and inability to change her behavior that violates generally accepted moral norms. It is argued that the trickster “tipsy lady” performs the function of a conductor between social worlds. It has been established that she demonstrates the animal nature (lust) inherent in the representatives of the “primitive world”. It has been proven that the trickster “tipsy lady” is in a state of play and, finally, combines contradictory qualities — defiant self-confidence, on the one hand, and defenselessness, on the other. In their work, the authors of the article used historical-genetic, structural-typological methods, as well as a multi-level functional analysis of the folklore text.

How creative destruction functions in corporate entrepreneurial process: an empirical investigation of Schumpeterian concept in engineering firm settings in Pakistan

Schumpeter's idea of creative destruction (CD) explains innovation functions in organisations. This paper investigates the CD concept in engineering firms by explaining how technical opportunity (TO) transforms into corporate entrepreneurship (CE) actions once opportunities have a market orientation (MO). A survey was conducted using a structured questionnaire with 132 managers of engineering firms in Pakistan. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using Partial Least Square (PLS) approach has been used to analyse the data. Results reveal that MO and TO exerts a positive influence on CE. MO is the reason for the emergence of TO, which corporate entrepreneurs in engineering firms exploit. CD intensifies the impact of MO on TO significantly. Opportunity recognition in engineering firms is distinguished and bounded by MO and technical viability. Engineering firms need to identify gaps in the market through naturally occurring obsolescence of products and services (CD) to create TO with appropriate MO. This study has revived a classical debate over opportunity recognition by incorporating external factors to propose the CE model. The Schumpeterian opportunity recognition process and CD have been examined for engineering firms.

Jerome L. Singer (1924-2019).

Memorializes Jerome L. Singer (1924-2019). Singer's seminal research, conducted over 50þ years, laid the foundations for virtually all modern investigations of stream of consciousness and mind wandering. During a time when daydreaming was considered pathological, Singer showed it to be a pervasive aspect of human experience that served positive social and creative functions, earning him the moniker "the father of daydreaming." After receiving his PhD in clinical psychology in 1951, Singer was certified as a psychoanalyst through the William Alanson White Institute, while also holding several part-time research appointments. In 1963, Singer became director of the clinical psychology program at City University, where he and collaborator John Antrobus studied "decoupled attention." Singer joined the faculty of Yale University in 1972 and assumed emeritus status in 2006. At Yale, he worked closely with his wife Dorothy (who was an exemplary developmental psychologist in her own right), where they codirected Yale's Family TV Research and Consultation Center for more than 30 years. Partycypacja sejmowej opozycji w wypełnianiu funkcji kreacyjnej

One way of defining the functions of the parliamentary opposition is to connect them with the functions of the organ in which parliamentary opposition carries out its activities. An analysis of the participation of the opposition in filling of functions on the example of the Polish parliament has already been made, but the research has focused only on the constitutional functions of the Sejm, i.e. the legislative and control functions. For this reason, the aim of this article is to analyse the participation of the opposition in filling of the third, no less important function, which is the creative function. Addressing this issue also stems from the fact that many institutional changes have been introduced in recent years, creating new state organs and changing – in the case of some – the rules of their appointment. In view of the above, the author’s intention was to answer the question whether the status of the opposition had changed as a result of the reforms carried out. Because the lower house of the parliament plays a dominant role in this sphere, the study focuses on the analysis of the participation of the opposition appearing in the Sejm.

The article raises the question of how the mutual influence of shifts in the structure of the economy and changes in the content of human activity in production occurs. This problem is only partially addressed in the available sociological, economic and philosophical studies. The content of labor and the structure of the economy are most often considered in isolation, and their mutual influence is studied only from the point of view of investments in “human capital” necessary for the functioning and development of modern technologies in production. However, the technological shifts taking place in recent decades have led to a significant expansion of the range of human activities, which necessarily have creative functions. This dependence was distorted in the concept of the “creative class”, since it included employed people involved in activities that have an ambiguous and sometimes opposite impact on the evolution of the structure of the economy. A significant part of the creative potential is used to extract profit by producing simulated goods, manipulating the market and consumer preferences. Particular attention is paid to the situation in Russia, where the presence of significant human potential is accompanied by its gradual degradation, and shifts in the economic structure determine the low level of demand for this potential. This situation is in contrast with the period of the 20s – 30s. The twentieth century, when the USSR implemented a strategy of technological modernization, based, among other things, on the program of training qualified personnel and the development of scientific research. The transition to the widespread use of creative functions in labor activity will require both a progressive change in the technological structure of the economy and a change in the criteria of production activity by moving away from economic rationality in favor of the criteria of reason and culture. Such a transition will require a corresponding change in public relations in favor of relations of cooperation and solidarity and deep shifts in the institutional structure.

Uticaj pandemije COVID 19 na poslovne procese u kreativnim industrijama - analiza slučaja Kulturnog centra Beograda

The Cultural Centre of Belgrade was created in 1957 as the focal point of cultural and artistic development of the then capital of Socialist Federative Republic of Yugosavia and an epicentre of contemplation of artistic foundations. Its original mision was the promotion of highest artistic and cultural values in Belgrade has changed over time as the very content of arts and culture have made a transition into the concept of creative industries. With the arrical of COVID19 pandemic into Serbia in 2019, a series of contra-epidemiologial measures have been implemented that have by their very nature either drastically reduced physical visits by people and/or have transformed the nature of human interaction. Given that the Cultural Centre of Belgrade has a unique programme concept and it is geographically located in the heart of Belgrade, the effects of the pandemic had a deep impact on the financial functioning and have thus affected the business processes in the system. A series and phased reengineering programmes have been implemented in the business processes, as they are the main pillar of the sustainability of creative functioning and output so that the Centre can continue to fulfill its mission in the post COVID environment. Their functioning remains to be closely monitored.

Suffix Derivation of Terms in the Veterinary Sublanguage

The article characterizes the peculiarities and cognitive potential of suffixal term derivation in the context of veterinary medicine. Linguistic research and description of the formation of the terminological system of veterinary medicine is relevant, since suffixation as a derivational-cognitive and evolutionary mechanism of the language of veterinary medicine is not sufficiently studied by linguistic science. The research material was a sample of lexicographic data recorded in specialized English dictionaries. The main methods used in our research are the method of semantic analysis of terms, lexicographic analysis, methods of classification and systematization, and the method of derivational analysis of terminological units. Various scientific approaches to the definition of the concept of derivation are presented, which is currently being actively studied as an independent linguistic global process and phenomenon in connection with the development of cognitive terminology and the recognition of the creative function of language in the processes of creating new terminological signs. In the derivational system of the language of veterinary medicine, the most popular is suffixation. The characteristic features of the suffixes of the English-language terminological system of veterinary medicine are, firstly, the stability of categorical affiliation, and secondly, the presence of meaning. The examples given by us unequivocally show that suffixes perform the classification function of determining the conceptual affiliation of a particular veterinary term. Processes of suffixal terminological derivation of substantives in veterinary terminology are important cognitive processes of development of the scientific picture of the world and language as a whole. Analysis of the specificity and role of suffixation in term formation shows a number of important aspects. First, there is a tendency to fix certain suffixes according to separate categories of concepts, in connection with which it is possible to single out groups of suffixes that express the categories of person, procedurality, objectivity, properties. Secondly, synonymy and homonymy of suffix formants are observed. Processes of suffix term derivation have a characteristic property that allows to reflect in the cognitive structure of the term its categorical affiliation, that is, the term belongs to a certain conceptual class.

COLLECTION OF ESSAYS AS A FORM OF CREATIVE REPRESENTATION IN THE CULTURE OF THE SILVER AGE

The article looks into the conceptual status of a collection of essays. This subject is investigated by using a number of different methods, of which the most significant ones are analytical, historical and cultural, with a general cultural and philosophical approach to understanding the essence and the semantic scope of the creative functions of a collection of essays. Particular attention is given to the relevance of the creation of a collection of essays as a special art form in the culture of the Silver Age. The article defines the reasons for a collection of essays and its specificity as a form of the presentation of the solely personal thoughts. The most significant characteristics of a collection of essays are identified in the example of the analysis of the collected volume of essays by D. S. Merezhkovsky “Eternal Companions”. Special attention is paid to the creation of the collection of critical essays as a reflection of the author’s thoughts and the era itself. For this purpose, the articles included in the content of the collection are analyzed. The specific subjectivity of the author’s comprehension of the literary works is noted, and in general it is fully consistent with the spirit of the times of the Silver Age. It is emphasized that the essays included in the collection reflect the dynamics of Merezhkovsky’s thoughts. The essays collected in the volume conform with the general mainstream of the author’s thoughts, they can be understood as a single whole, and the collection itself can be regarded as a form of the representation of a creative personality in the artistic culture of the Silver Age. Special attention is given to the personality of the publisher who was a good acquaintance of Merezhkovsky P. P. Pertzov. Following the analytical procedures carried out on the texts in Merezhkovsky’s collection “Eternal Companions”, it is noted that the characteristic features of the author’s ideas present him not only as a literary critic, but mostly as a thinker. Eventually, the general conclusions are made: the collection of essays goes beyond the limits of only one author, the principles of its organization are indicated, and the importance of the author’s interpretation of the literary and cultural events as a whole is noted.

Russian language in modern web space: dynamic processes and development trends

This article investigates new language trends in Internet communication. The goal was a comprehensive description of new features that appeared at every level of the language system functioning in the web space. Investigation of new systemic web phenomena has both relevance and perspectives, as the focus of literary language development has shifted from literary texts to web-based texts. The research material included Facebook posts and comments. The material was processed with stylistic methods (contextual, stylistic compatibility, interpretation, etc.). The synchronic analysis was accompanied with elements of diachronic commentary. The analysis also considered the normative aspect, yet the emphasis was made on the evolution of contemporary literary language influenced by digitalization and the growth of the Internet. The important factor in language transformation and development is realization of the creative function of the language in the user-generated content of the informal segment of the Internet. The multiple extralinguistic factors influencing Internet communication are described in details, but it is the creative function of the language and the features of new communication in the Internet space that are of primary importance for the development of the literary language in the Russian segment of the Internet. The study uses examples to prove the scientific hypothesis that new language phenomena on the Internet are not random, but on the contrary are systemic, as they are manifested at every language level. This allows drawing conclusions about the inevitability of transformation of the Russian language in the future, as the language will provide the communication of digital society that is already developing new ethic norms. Considering the trend on strengthening the legal frames for actions of state and transnational actors in the network space, the study of the Russian language and its trends in the Internet as one of the powerful means of soft power makes our study relevant for forming legislative mechanisms aimed at preserving Russian national interests in the international communication. The study is perspective, since it makes a significant contribution to preserving cultural and linguistic identity of Russian citizens in front of the growing international competition and uncertainty. In addition, being a linguistic study, this work deals with the issues of processing information with its increased speed and volume.

Spaces of Memory

Abstracts The essay aims to explore the theme of memory in Petrarch’s Latin Works and in his intellectual experience, analysing especially one of the two metaphoric fields of memory, namely that which defines memory as a space that can be created, organised, filled with contents, and revisited with the specific aim of learning and discovering while remembering past events. Petrarch’s constant interest in the structure and processes of memory and in the heuristic quality of the act of remembering seems to be effectively condensed into some metaphors (like thesaurus, arca, arx, cella, etc.) involved with the idea of repository that can be depicted in different ways depending on whether the aim is that of emphasising the value of the memories contained in it, or its possible religious applications, or its creative function.

Концепция креативности в проблемном поле современной социальной философии

This paper speaks of the growing interest in the category of creativity among the scientific community of interdisciplinary discourse, and the place of creativity among philosophical disciplines. Creativity as a property of the social environment is characteristic of the type of society in which traditions have not managed to become a universal form of behavior, prompting the subjects of society to permanently reflect on habitual patterns of behavior, the production of unique forms, and the original synthesis of previously known ideas and social practices. Being an integral property of the social and cultural environment as a whole, creativity ultimately reveals a person’s desire for novelty and marks the beginning of the digital revolution. The development of creativity due to explicitly specified external conditions contributes to its identification not only in a certain scientific environment, but also in the whole society, within which the creative class functions. Within the framework of the socio-philosophical context, the category of creativity reveals its potential based on the axiological approach. Tracing the rejection of the values of traditional society, the new values are those that contribute to the self-expression of a person, expanding the boundaries of his or her self-actualization.

Creative Spaces Where Cultures Meet: Between Theory and Practice

The aim of this paper is to explore the concept of creative spaces where cultures meet. The empirical material subjected to analysis consists of the results of interviews conducted with cultural managers. The qualitative analysis is extended by a sociological approach based on literature criticism and the analytical-synthetic method. The main question posed is how creativity is experienced by cultural managers who organize cultural events in specific spaces related to the concept of multicultural dialogue. Creativity is considered both as a subjective property and as a social construct that is context-dependent. The paper argues that norms and values influence the experience of urban creativity and that creative endeavors can influence the social and economic development of a city. The paper explores the relationship between culture and creativity in space and assesses its creative potential. In particular, the results may help to shape theoretical consensus on the function of creativity at intercultural meeting points in the process of social change.

Peculiarities of English-teaching practice for students of electrical engineering

Problem. As engineering is a vast area of study in the world and English is a recognized language of international communication, knowledge of English is compulsory. Besides, we live in the digital age and English is the only language in latest version applications, installation guides and software instructions. Learning for students of engineering from not English-speaking countries is very important not only for their scholastic life, but also for their prospective career, mobility and successful communication. Goal. The goal of the work is to determine the features of teaching English to the students of electrical engineering, specify the role of English language for engineering students, outline the technique and methods of organizing the teaching process, look into innovative technologies of teaching. Methodology. The methodology is based on the analysis of the existing methods of teaching which are many, comparison of classical and innovative methods and analysis of the strategies of different methods. The paper emphasizes creative approach in teaching as a key to success. Results. The work provides a brief theoretical grounding and a working definition for creativity and motivation in teaching English for Specific Purposes and English as a Foreign language. It also explores the role and function of creativity in the context of the changing paradigm regarding the overall scope of the educational system in general and of the language learning in particular. Originality. The work offers combining creative methods and active strategies in fostering better language acquisition during English classes. When we see that the students are involved and motivated, it means that the strategy works. The teacher-oriented method is not currently welcomed in language teaching, and the ways to make it student-oriented are offered in the work. Practical value. The paper contains some practical advice on how a teacher can create more situations in which students can contribute, initiate, control and create. Keeping in mind the dependence of the learning success on creativity of teachers and motivation of students, new innovative methods of teaching in proper combination with theory of language can be used.

Struktur dan Fungsi Sosial Nyanyian Rakyat (Lullaby) Laloklah Nak Kanduang Masyarakat di Nagari Paninggahan

This research was conducted with the aim of describing the structure and social function of the folk song (lullaby) of Laloklah Nak Kanduang community in Nagari Paninggahan, Junjung Sirih District, Solok Regency. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive methods. Data obtained from informants through recording, recording, observation, and direct interviews with informants. Then the data that has been collected is analyzed in the following stages: (1) the data identification stage, (2) the data analysis stage, (3) the discussion stage and the conclusion of the data classification results, (4) the reporting stage. Laloklah Nak Kanduang's song has a structure like that found in poetry, namely physical structure (lines, stanzas, and sounds) and inner structure (patterns of association, patterns of images and emotions as well as themes and messages). Then the social functions, namely three (1) creative functions, (2) enthusiasm, (3) hope and prayer. The oral tradition of humming needs to be preserved, considering that the values contained in chanting are priceless cultural assets.

Physical separation of catalytic oxidation and reduction sites onto photocatalyst assisted by surface functional groups for enhanced hydrogen evolution

Physical separation of catalytic reduction and oxidation sites is a common approach in photocatalysis to optimize photogenerated charge separation and improve redox ability of catalysts. Herein, we report a novel site-directed photodeposition technology assisted by specific surface functional groups for the synthesis of Nix/NH2–Cd0.5Zn0.5S–S2- (Nix/N-CZS-S2-) catalyst. Two creative functions are exhibited. On the one hand, the surface functional groups –NH2 act as a bridge to anchor catalytic reduction center Ni, and this particular anchor form provides a new electron transfer channel for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. On the other hand, the surface functional groups S2− provides sites for holes that can be eliminated by the sacrificial agent. As a result, these two advantages guarantee the hydrogen evolution of the Ni2/N-CZS-S2- to reach 32,025 μmol g−1·h−1 and the quantum yield to reach 25.68 % at 420 nm. This particular site-directed photodeposition technology can optimize charge transfer kinetics and improve redox reaction kinetics of catalyst. In addition, it can be extended to related systems as an effective strategy for enhanced photocatalysis performance.
