A Z-scheme-structured Cu2O/BiOBr photocatalyst was synthesized by depositing Cu2O cubes onto flower-like BiOBr microspheres and used to degrade tetracycline(TC). The rate of TC degradation by the photocatalyst was 85% due to its distinctive physical and chemical features. Its exceptional photocatalytic performance could be attributed to its flower-like shape, which enhanced the scattering and refraction efficiency of light and facilitated the separation and movement of carriers. Furthermore, Cu2O/BiOBr exhibited a broad range of light absorption and possessed exceptional photocatalytic characteristics. This paper discussed the photocatalytic mechanism of the Z-scheme Cu2O/BiOBr photocatalyst.
