Conservation program for freshwater stingrays in the Musi River, Palembang City, South Sumatra: Stakeholders analysis and priority programs

Through the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Decree (Kepmen KP) 01/2021, the Indonesian Government has granted full protection status for three freshwater stingray species found in the Musi River, Palembang City, South Sumatra. However, enforcement of regulations related to the full protection of these three species remains suboptimal. Therefore, the active involvement of stakeholders and implementation of practical conservation strategies are essential. This research aims to identify the interactions among stakeholders involved in managing freshwater stingrays and to develop priority conservation programs for these species in the Musi River, Palembang City, South Sumatra. The findings emphasize the key stakeholders in management of freshwater stingrays, including the Palembang City Fisheries Office, Fisheries Extension Officers in Palembang City, under the Research Institute for Fisheries Research and Fisheries Extension Palembang institution (BRPPUPP), Fishery Resources Surveillance and Monitoring (PSDKP) Batam Palembang Work Area, Coastal and Marine Resources Management Agency (BPSPL) Padang Palembang Work Area, and fishermen. The proposed priority conservation programs for freshwater stingrays include public awareness campaigns to promote the importance of full protection for these species, research on the biological characteristics and habitats of freshwater stingrays, and enhanced surveillance achieving through intensive monitoring by Community Surveillance Groups (Pokmaswas) and by increasing the number of personnel and fisheries surveillance fleets. Collaborative program development among stakeholders is critical to ensure the success of the freshwater stingray conservation initiatives in the Musi River.

Ichthyofaunal Diversity and Seasonal Harvest Patterns in Dudhawa Reservoir, Chhattisgarh, India

This study seeks to examine the status and biodiversity of fishes in medium reservoir known as Dudhawa of Chhattisgarh. The major objectives were to collect the primary data on fisheries of Dudhawa reservoir, collection, preservation and identification of fish species, to enlist the fish fauna and to study the seasonal variations in fish harvest of Dudhawa reservoir. For this study, fish specimens were collected during August 2022 to February 2024 from the reservoir and primary data pertaining to species abundance, yield and production of the reservoir were collected from the Matsya Mahasangh Raipur. The results of empirical study revealed that the list of 43 species were classified under 5 orders, 13 families and 28 genera. Analysis of different species reveals that 69.76% of them belong to a single order, Cypriniformes. The analysis of the fishes listed show that 6.97 % species belong to order Mastacembeliformes, 11.62% belong to order Perciformes, 4.65% belong to order Channiformes and 2.32% species belong to order Cluipeiformes. Statistical analysis of data reveals no correlation between stocking and yield of the reservoir. Fish species in the Dudhawa reservoir were broadly categorized into four group i.e. major carps, catfishes, minor fish and minnow’s fish. Critical observation of data shows that major carp’s fishery dominated the catch during August, 2022 to February, 2024. A high yield of major carp’s fishery (26728 kg) was obtained in November. However, catfish fishery fluctuated between 2400.5 kg in August to 9063 kg in March. Bulk of minnows fishes (23.33%-56.6%) were recorded in drag netting may be due to reduced water level during summer (February to May, 2023). This data will definitely help the fishermen and as well as fisheries officials for better stock and harvest management of this type of small reservoir of Chhattisgarh.

Utilization of Media and Institutional Support for Urban Farming in Pekanbaru City

Urban farming is important in supporting food security in urban areas. This study aims to identify the use of communication media in implementing urban farming and supporting institutions in the application of urban farming. This research was conducted using a survey method with samples selected in tiers representing each extension institution of farmer women groups. Furthermore, data were gathered from interviews and FGDs. The results showed that accessing information and communication behavior was in the excellent category with a score of 4.65. There are different types of facilities that are currently used by farmers to access information, namely smartphones where the extension workers always provide information related to farming, and printed extension media such as brochures, flyers, and books related to vegetable farming. Farmer knowledge about information sources is also in an excellent category. They know the types of information sources and how to get information according to their needs that comes from reliable and accurate sources. Farmers received full support from local leaders and the government through the food crops and fisheries office of the city of Pekanbaru with regular counseling held by extension workers, and socialization related to urban farming. Analysis of Factors Affecting the Success of Beef Cattle Artificial Insemination (AI) in Jepon District, Blora Regency

Abstract This study aims to investigate the factors that influence the success of artificial insemination, the effect of successful artificial insemination on livestock rearing, and the income of beef cattle farmers in Palon Village, Jepon District, Blora Regency. The research method is quantitative descriptive with a survey approach. Primary data were obtained through direct observations, interviews, and questionnaires with beef cattle farmers in Palon Village and inseminators of the Food, Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries Office (DP4) of Blora Regency, while secondary data were obtained from DP4 and the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) of Blora Regency. Multiple linear regression and beef cattle farming analysis were used in this study. The findings show that the number of repeat breeding cases in Palon Village remains significantly high. Several factors were identified as influencing the success of artificial insemination, including female livestock characteristics, thawing and handling semen, breeder conditions, and inseminators’ skills and attitudes. Livestock health, administration of anthelmintics and vitamins, rectal palpation examination, body condition score, age of the breeder, feed, and the origin or breed of the livestock are all important characteristics of female livestock. The handling and thawing of semen were discovered to be critical factors influencing the type of straw used. Farmer conditions, which include age, education level, length of time involved in beef cattle farming, basic livelihood, and the number of owners, also play a role. Age, experience in the field, and the extent of training received were discovered to influence the success of artificial insemination. Repeated mating contributes to increased maintenance costs and the costs associated with artificial insemination in beef cattle.

Identification of climate change and its impact on maize (Zea mays L.) production in Majalengka Regency

Maize is one of the multipurpose crop whose yields can be affected by climate change. Climate change includes increasing air temperature, increasing sea levels, and changes in rainfall can be a threat and cause a decrease in maize yields. This could be caused by climate change factors. This research aims to identify climate change and analyze the correlation between climate change and maize production in the Majalengka Regency. Maize plantations in the 26 sub-districts are still fluctuative. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive using trend analysis and correlation. The data used include temperature, rainfall, harvested area, production, and productivity of maize obtained from (i) the Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency of Majalengka Regency, (ii) Statistics Indonesia, (iii) Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Office of Majalengka Regency, and other related sources. The results of this research showed that climate change in Majalengka Regency was marked by an increase in temperature trend and a decrease in rainfall trend. The correlation between temperature and changes in maize production in Majalengka Regency was significant, while rainfall was not significant.

Strategies of Regional Levies of the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Office of Central Java Province of Indonesia

There is still a need to properly increase the role of regional levies in generating revenue for Central Java Province. This is because each region has been granted the authority to manage its affairs, including regional finance, with the expectation that regional governments will become financially independent from the central government. In reality, many regions in Indonesia and other countries still significantly rely on the central government for financial support. Therefore, regional governments must focus on increasing revenue by improving the management of regional levies at the Regional Apparatus Organizations. This is achieved through the development of strategies for the regional levies sector based on the SWOT analysis results and the projected regional levies revenue of the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Office of Central Java Province. This research aimed to identify strategies, create strategies for regional levies, and analyze the projected revenue from these levies. This is expected to support efforts to increase regional levies revenue. This research used primary and secondary data. The primary data were obtained through interview results with key informants to assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Office in collecting regional levies. Meanwhile, secondary data comprised information on regional levies and relevant references on the Regional Apparatus Organization. The data collected were analyzed using the SWOT and multiple linear regression analyses as analytical techniques. The results showed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats used to collect regional levies and also the strategies. Based on the projected revenue, the levies generated by this Regional Apparatus Organization are projected to increase from 2022 to 2027 steadily. The implications include recommendations for activities carried out by the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Office, which aligned with the potential and capabilities of the regional and central government regulations governing regional levies.

Asset Management and Performance of Information System-Based Irrigation System (EPAKSI) Case Study of Cabak Irrigation Area, Temanggung Regency

The purpose of this study is to determine the process of data inputted and analyzed through the ePAKSI application, In this thesis used primary and secondary data collection methods. Secondary data as a support for primary data were obtained from the Office of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Temanggung Regency and from the Office of the Food Security, Agriculture and Fisheries Office of Temanggung Regency. The results showed that the data inputted and analyzed with the ePAKSI application included data on asset types, asset names, nomenclature, dimensions and conditions ranging from assets upstream (weir) to downstream (end of the channel) of the Cabak irrigation network and the latest number of assets from field searches in the form of 3 channels, 34 buildings and 14 tertiary plots were known. The results of the evaluation of the performance assessment of the irrigation system of the Cabak Irrigation Area with the ePAKSI application obtained a total value of 63.70% in the less category (55% - 70%) with recommendations for handling needs attention from the Temanggung Regency Government. The details of the evaluation results of the performance assessment of the irrigation system of the Cabak Irrigation Area consist of physical infrastructure with a score of 59.81%, planting productivity 87.84%, supporting facilities 68.00%, personnel organization 71.20%, documentation 62.50% and water user farmer associations (GP3A / IP3A) 30.00%.

Analisis Biaya Produksi dan Analisis Profitabilitas Usaha Budidaya Ikan Lele di Kab. Mojokerto

This study aims to analyze production costs in catfish curl farming in Mojokerto Regency and compare the level of profitability. The research sample is several respondents of catfish farming farmers in Mojokerto district. This study used primary data and secondary data obtained from catfish farmers, relevant agencies, the Mojokerto District Fisheries Office, and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs Fisheries, using purposive sampling method. The data analysis technique used in this research is quantitative descriptive analysis. The final results of the study showed that farmer-2 was superior in obtaining a lower FCR value of 1.16 compared to farmer-1's FCR level of 1.60. However, the profit gain and the level of profitability obtained are much greater in the enlargement of catfish owned by farmer-1 with a profitability rate of 16.90%. This occurs because the costs incurred to purchase feed in the form of CCM waste are far more expensive than the costs incurred to purchase feed in the form of chicken intestines. In terms of feed quality, CCM waste is of good quality and efficient for use as catfish feed because it can score low FCR values. However, the costs incurred to purchase good quality feed also need to be taken into account and considered.

Job Crafting On Work Engagement: Person Job Fit As Mediation Variable

This study aims to analyze: (1) The effect of Job Crafting on Work Engagement in employees of the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office of West Sumatra Province. (2) The effect of Job Crafting on Person-Job Fit in employees of the Office of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of West Sumatra Province. (3) The effect of Person-Job Fit on Work Engagement in employees of the West Sumatra Province Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office. (4) The effect of Job Crafting on Work Engagement mediated by Person-Job Fit for employees of the West Sumatra Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Service. This research is a causal research. The population in this study were all employees of the Office of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of West Sumatra Province, totaling 92 employees. While the number of samples used in this study was determined by using total sampling so that the sample is the same as the population, which is 92 people. The analysis technique used is SmartPLS 4 software. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Job Crafting has a positive and significant effect on Work Engagement for employees of the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office of West Sumatra Province. (2) Job Crafting has a positive and significant effect on Person-Job Fit for employees of the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office of West Sumatra Province. (3) Person-Job Fit has a positive and significant effect on Work Engagement for employees of the Office of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of West Sumatra Province. (4) Job Crafting has a positive and significant effect on Work Engagement mediated by Person-Job Fit for employees of the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office of West Sumatra Province.

A stakeholder analysis for sustainable development of Maritime Village in Semarang coastal community, Indonesia

PurposeThis paper aims to examine the role of stakeholders and their interconnected relationships based on power and interests in realising sustainable development in coastal areas using the Maritime Village program in Tambaklorok, Semarang City, Indonesia as a case study.Design/methodology/approachData were collected from in-depth interviews and focus group discussions (FGD) with stakeholders, observations, as well as online news, and official government reports, followed by taxonomic analysis.FindingsThe results showed the four categories of stakeholders, namely players, context setters, subjects, and crowd. The Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA) of Semarang City, Spatial Planning Agency (DISTARU) of Semarang City, and the Fisheries Office of Semarang City were found to be key players with a role in the success of the program. PT Pelindo (Indonesia Port Corporations) was identified as a context setter with low interests but high power, acting as an accelerator in the development program.Originality/valueThe originality of this study lied in its examination of the power and interests of stakeholders involved in government projects. It was recommended to strengthen coordination among the stakeholders to ensure the success of the program.

Status pengelolaan perikanan tongkol yang berbasis di PPP Pasongsongan Sumenep, Jawa Timur : suatu pendekatan ekosistem

Introduction: The increase in the purse seine fishing fleet and the decline in tuna production will have an impact on the decline in CPUE (Catch Per Unit Effort) per year. The CPUE trend that continues to decline every year is feared to have a negative impact on fish resource stocks and even the tendency of overfishing. Therefore, to overcome the existing problems, an integrated approach to fisheries management is needed through the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM). This study aims to assess the status and formulate management actions for tuna fisheries based in the Pasongsongan Coastal Fishing Port (PPP), Sumenep Regency. Methods: The types and sources of data used in this research are primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected through survey and observation methods. Interviews were conducted with 40 randomly selected purse seine fishermen respondents, as well as 1 employee of the Sumenep District Fisheries Office. Secondary data were collected through existing data such as tuna catch, number of trips, number of purse seine fleets, fish prices. Analysis was conducted through an indicator approach using the Multi Criteria Analysis (MCA) approach. Results: The results of the analysis show that the institutional domain shows a very good status, while for the domains of fish resources, fishing techniques, and social with good status, then the economic domain has a moderate status. Conclusion: Based on these indicators, the management status of tuna resources based in the Pasongsongan Coastal Fishing Port is generally in good condition.

Influence of Work Stress and Cyberloafing on The Performance of Lumajang District Fisheries Office Employees

The purpose of this research is to find out how the performance of employees at the Lumajang District Fisheries Service is affected by cyberloafing and work stress. In this study, the sample used was 55 people who were employees of the Lumajang District Fisheries Office. This study uses primary data. The number of samples was determined using saturated sample technique. Normality test using graphic analysis. The t test, multiple linear regression analysis, classic assumption test (normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity), and the coefficient of determination are the analytical tools used in this study. The results of this study partially work stress and cyberloafing have no significant effect on the performance of the Lumajang District Fisheries Service employees.

Economic Mapping of Fish Farming Communities in Cikancung Village, Cikancung District, Bandung Regency

This research aims to compile economic mapping of fish farming communities and the economic factors that influence fisheries development in cikancung village, cikancung district, bandung regency. This research method is a survey method. This research was carried out from july 2023 – aug 2023 in cikancung village. The data required is qualitative data, namely primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained through interviews and questionnaires to fish cultivators in cikancung village, while secondary data was obtained through documents from the cikancung village government and the food security and fisheries office of bandung regency, west java. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data analysis method in this study is a qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the economic conditions of most cultivators had income in the low category, namely less than idr 5,000,000 per month. The average value of the productivity of fish farming is 0.6 kg/year/m2. The economic factors that hinder cultivators are the lack of capital and the reduced area of ​​cultivator land. There is a need for ongoing research regarding economic mapping by using variables and other methods to monitor What are economic conditions of the fish farming community in Cikancung village, cikancung district, bandung regency and also there needs to be more intensive outreach and training activities To fish farmers in cikancung village so that business activities are carried out Implemented can be more advanced and developed.

The Authority of Lampung Provincial Government in Managing Fisheries Resources in Era of Regional Autonomy

The global COVID-19 outbreak has had a major impact on the marine and fisheries industry in Indonesia. This is also felt by fishermen in Lampung Province with the decline in demand for fishery products in the domestic and international markets in Lampung Province. The overall decline in the fisheries production cycle is influenced by the decline in demand from consumers. The local government has an important role to help restore the condition. The problem in this research is how the authority of the local government of Lampung Province in the management of fisheries resources in the era of regional autonomy and how the efforts of the marine and fisheries office of Lampung Province in an effort to achieve fisheries production in the era of regional autonomy. The research method used is normative research with statute approach. The results of this study are in accordance with the Governor's Regulation on the determination of the main tasks and functions of the Lampung Province Maritime and Fisheries Service as an implementing element of local government in the field of marine and fisheries led by a Head of Service who is responsible to the Governor. he goal is to implement the commitment of the Governor and Deputy Governor elected in 2019-2024 on marine and the Berjaya Fishermen Program to prioritize the welfare of the fishing industry, especially fishermen and their families. The Lampung Provincial Maritime and Fisheries Service provides solutions in the form of feed assistance in collaboration with Lampung University, fish nurseries and distribution in four districts and cities as well as Mobilizing registration and licensing to increase the capacity of fishermen and facilitate licensing and shipping documentation.

Employee Performance in Terms of Organizational Commitment and Work Motivation: The Mediating Role of Organization Citizenship Behaviors

By using organizational citizenship behavior as a mediation, this study tries to show empirically how employee performance is influenced by organizational commitment and job motivation. Up to 84 workers from Probolinggo City's Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Office served as the study's subjects. Because there were less than 100 people in each sample, the census approach was used for all of them. While data analysis employs path analysis, the data employed are primary data derived from the responses to questionnaires sent to respondents. The findings indicated that employee performance is influenced by organizational commitment and job motivation. Additionally, it was discovered that job motivation and organizational commitment both influence organizational citizenship behavior. Additionally, research has shown that organizational citizenship behavior influences employee performance while also acting as a buffer between organizational commitment and job motivation, and employee performance. The findings of this study suggest that organizational citizenship behavior may be utilized to predict employee performance using independent factors such as organizational commitment and job motivation.

Pengaruh Penilaian Kinerja Terhadap Produktivitas Kerja Pegawai Pada Dinas Perikanan Kabupaten Wajo Sulawesi Selatan

This study aims to determine the effect of performance appraisal on work productivity at the Fisheries Office of Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi. This research uses quantitative methods. Data collection techniques used were observation and questionnaires. The sample of this study were 43 people taken from a total population of 74 people. Data analysis in this study used correlation analysis, simple linear regression and anova test by conducting hypothesis testing. The results of this study were processed using the SPSS 26 application.
 The results of this study indicate that the Performance Assessment variable and the Work Productivity variable are each in the good category based on the respondents' responses. The results of other studies indicate that there is a relationship with the Fisheries Office of Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi.

An Investigation of Fish Processing and Preserving for Socio-Economic Development in North "B" District of Unguja - Zanzibar

This study was conducted in order to investigate fish processing and preserving for socio- economic development in North “B” District Unguja-Zanzibar. The specific objectives were to assess the contribution of fish processing and preserving activities for socio-economic development in North “B” District of Unguja-Zanzibar and to examine the strategies set by the government in promoting fish processing. The target population of the study comprised of District Officers, Fisheries Officers, Shehia Leaders, community members and stockholders. Data was gathered using questionnaires. The study population was 81,675 which and a sample size of 145. The study revealed that, fish processing and preserving contributed to socio-economic development especially in as far as improving the standard of living of the communities. This was at the level of 93 equal to (64.1%), income increased to 48 equal to (33.1%), usage of modern technology was found to be 82 (56.5%), improvement of training and education to the local community and fish folks 62 equal to (42.8%). In general, the benefits contributed to the socio-economic development in Zanzibar. The study revealed that, some of the strategies set by the government were to strengthen the monitoring and evaluation processes, provision of modern technology to the local communities, provision of training and education to the local communities. The study recommended the government to increase more fish processing and preservation in order to increase social economic development. Also the study recommended that, modern technology, monitoring and evaluation; training local communities should be enhanced.

Influence Of Work Environment And Skills On Agricultural And Fisheries Food Security Employees' Performance In Bekasi City

This study aims to determine the influence of the work environment and work skills on the performance of employees of the Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Office of Bekasi City. The data analysis method used is quantitative. The sample for this research was 70 respondents who were employees of the Department of Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries, Bekasi City. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data processing using SPSS Version 26 Data analysis techniques using multiple linear regression analysis The results of this study indicate that the work environment variable and the work skills variable have a positive and significant impact on employee performance. and simultaneously, these two independent variables are proven to be significant and have an effect on employee performance variables.
 
 

Inovasi Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan Kabupaten Majene dalam Pemulihan dan Peningkatan Perekonomian Rakyat (Survivalitas Nelayan di Tengah Bencana)

The earthquake that occurred in West Sulawesi on January 15 2021 centered 7 km northeast of Majene certainly had an impact on the Majene community, including parts of the Mamuju area and some of the affected Mamasa. Apart from natural disasters, the existence of the Covid 19 virus as a non-natural disaster has had an impact on the people's economy. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative using interviews and direct observation at the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office of Majene Regency. Majene, which has a coastline of ± 125 km2, makes its people work a lot as fishermen, but in the midst of the disasters (both natural and non-natural) that occur, of course, it has an impact on the people's economy so that it forces local governments, especially the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Service to innovate so that people can survive in the midst of disaster that befell. This innovation starts with recousing funds/budgets, increasing the yield of fish ponds, working with the private sector in increasing the productivity of skipjack tuna.
