The Factors Affecting Broiler Chicken Demand in Kendari City During the Covid-19 Pandemic

This study intends to raise the demand for broiler chickens in Kendari City during the Covid-19 epidemic. Factors influencing the demand for broiler chickens in Kendari City during the Covid-19 epidemic. This time, the decision of the place was made consciously. Held in Baruga Market, Anduonohu Market, Lapulu Market, Korem Side Market, and Bonggoeya Traditional Market from August to September 2021. The Accidental sampling method based on chance was used to choose the sampling strategy for this investigation. If it is determined that the individual the researcher encounters by chance is appropriate as a data source, then they may be employed as a sample. 100 people who regularly eat broiler chicken made up the study's sample. Analysis using multiple linear regressions. The variables observed in this research are the cost of broiler chicken, consumer income, age, the expenditure on fish, the price of chicken eggs, and the family size. According to the study, broiler chicken is naturally needed 5,95 times a month in Kendari City. The main elements influencing this requirement are the stock price, income, and tours (t 0,05). The demand for broiler chicken during the pandemic cord 19 in Kendari City is highly influenced by the price of fish, chicken eggs, and the household size (t > 0,05).

Optimization of the Number of Clusters of the K-Means Method in Grouping Egg Production Data in Indonesia

The need for eggs that continues to increase will not increase with large egg production so that there is a shortage of egg supplies which results in high egg prices. It is necessary to group egg production in Indonesia to find out which areas fall into the high cluster and which areas fall into the low cluster. This study aims to classify the egg production of laying hens in Indonesia. The method used is the K-Means Clustering method which is a popular clustering method. To find out how optimal the number of clusters in the K-Means method is for grouping egg production in Indonesia, the researcher evaluates the DBI value of each number of existing clusters. In this study, 8 clusters were used, namely 2 clusters, 3 clusters, 4 clusters, 5 clusters, 6 clusters, 7 clusters, 8 clusters, and 9 clusters. The results of measuring the DBI value are the number of clusters 2 = 0.215, the number of clusters 3 = 0.149, the number of clusters 4 = 0.146, the number of clusters 5 = 0.157, the number of clusters 6 = 0.180, the number of clusters 7 = 0.205, the number of clusters 8 = 0.192 and the number of clusters 9 = 0.154. This study shows that the best number of clusters is the number of clusters 4 with the smallest DBI value of 0.146.

Investment feasibility and risk management of a small-scale layer business in the Province of North Sulawesi, Indonesia

The main expectation of investment in the layers production is to provide benefit for small-scale farmers, who have limited capital and deal with varied business risks. The purpose of this research is to know the feasibility of financial investment and determine an alternative scenario in dealing with risk for farmers in the small-scale egg-layer business with limited capital. The research, then, employed a survey method with a multi-stages sampling technique on 85 farmers of the small-scale layer business located in the District of Tomohon Utara. The City of Tomohon as the center of layers population in the Province of North Sulawesi. Data collection used a list of questions related to the research problem. Further, the use of financial analysis was by criteria of investment feasibility with the measurement of net present value, cost ratio of benefit, internal rate of return, and followed by sensitivity analysis related to business risk. The results of this research demonstrate that the total rate of layer chickens raised by farmers was 2,136 birds and the net present value (NPV) was IDR 36,213,611. Within the five-year investment, the cost ratio of benefit (B/C) was 1.05, and the internal rate of return (IRR) was 22.85 %. Under the current management of a small-scale layer business, performed by farmers, the layers business was feasible to deal with the risk of increasing feed price, increased mortality, and declining egg price, which those factors caused loss for farmers. Therefore, based on the sensitivity analysis, the small-scale farmers had to improve their daily rate of production of eggs by 76%, when the feed price increased by 5%, or the egg price declined by 5%, in minimizing and preventing loss.

Analysis of Vegetables Demand by “Warteg” Restaurants in Bandar Lampung City

The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the demand pattern of vegetables (water spinach, cassava leaves, and eggplant) and the factors that affected the demand of vegetables by warteg restaurants in Bandar Lampung City. The location was determined purposely (purposive method). The number of the respondents in this study were 50 warteg restaurants, taken by proportional random sampling methods. Data were collected from December 2020 to February 2021, taken by interview techniques. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis methods and multiple regression analysis models. The results showed that the average of vegetables demand by warteg restaurant amount 8,5 kg of spinach water per week, 7,9 kg of cassava leaves per week and 3 kg of eggplant per week. The average purchase frequency amount 3,58 time per week for spinach water, 3,08 time per week for cassava leaves and 1,26 time per week for eggplant. The types of vegetables menu is stir-fried water spinach, cassava curry vegetables, and eggplant sauce. The restaurant owner usually buy the vegetables at the traditional market. Furthermore, factors which affect to the demand of vegetables are the price of water spinach, the price of cassava leaves, the price of eggplant, the price of tempe, the price of egg, the price of chicken meat, number of restaurant menu, restaurant income and the price of vegetables dishes.

Financial Analysis Of Laying Duck On People's Farms In Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang Regency

Business productivity at the farm level is still low when compared to commercial businesses both in terms of business management, quality and quantity of production.This study aims to analyze financial aspects of laying ducks on community farms. The research was conducted in Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang Regency in November until October 2021. The samples were determined by stratified sampling, namely dividing three business scales based on the number of livestock ownership, i.e small-scale business (300-500 ducks), medium scale business (800 ducks) and the highest scale business(3.000-10.000 ducks) with the number of respondents per business scale of 3 breeders. Parameters were production cost, income. revenue, R/C, BEP, Net B/C, Gross B/C, NPV, IRR, and PP. The results of the study showed that the average income per period per business scale was Rp. 104.736.666, - Rp. 170.320.457, - and Rp. 1.606.308.080. R/C value> 1, the value of BEP production is smaller than the amount of egg production, BEP price is smaller than the selling price of eggs per egg, the value of Net B/C and Gross B/C> 1, the NPV value> 0 or positive, the IRR value with an interest rate of 16.75%, respectively, is 55%, 50% and 55% greater than the interest rate and PP, respectively 10,15,8 months.

Time Series Analysis of Egg Prices Across Nigeria for Sustainable Food Security

The ability to forecast the future has always been of great interest to humanity, in order to take one kind of informed decision or the other. In this research work, time series analysis such as Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model was employed to analyse the monthly price of egg (medium size) across all 6 geo-political regions in Nigeria from 2016-2019 with intent to forecast future prices of egg in the 6 regions. Two ARIMA models (ARIMA (3,1,0) & ARIMA (3,1,1)) were used on the dataset, with ARIMA (3,1,0) found to be more suitable for the dataset used. The results show a steadily rising price of eggs across all zones in the country, projecting into 2022; and this could in turn affect the ability of the average Nigerian to afford this meal that is very rich in protein, vitamins and minerals. This rising price could be attributed to the high cost of poultry feed as well as other production inputs. In the long run, the rising prices of poultry eggs may lead to low patronage. Hence both private farmers and government agency should device inclusive policy to stem the tide of this rising cost of eggs for sustainability of food security in the country. Model Peramalan Harga Telur Ayam Ras di Pasar Tradisional dan Modern Kota Jambi

This study aims to find out the volatility of the price of chicken eggs and compile a proper forecasting model for the price of chicken eggs in the Traditional and Modern market of Jambi City. The object of the study is the price of chicken eggs in the Traditional and Modern markets of Jambi City using quantitative descriptive methods using skunder data. For the type of data used in this study is time series data in the form of weekly data on the price of chicken eggs for the period 2018 to September 2021 sourced from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center. Data analysis is carried out through an econometric approach in answering its objectives, using model analysis (ARIMA), ARCH / GARCH model. Based on the results of data processing, the ARIMA model is the best model for forecasting the price of chicken eggs in the traditional jambi market. While the ARCH model is the best model for forecasting the price of chicken eggs in the Modern market of Jambi City. The results of high price forecasting are found in the Traditional Market of Jambi City with an average of Rp. 21,543.35,-per kg from October to December 2021. From the results, there is volatility in the Traditional and Modern markets of Jambi City which is seen based on CSD (conditional standard deviation), and high volatility and often occurs in the Traditional Jambi City market with a volatility value of 0.01009950. The policy of pricing the sale of chicken eggs that is set nationally every year must be reviewed again with regard to fluctuations in the price of chicken eggs at the consumer level that can increase beyond the price set by the government, and the government's policy for stabilization of the price of chicken eggs in the market both downstream needs to be followed by policies on upstream subsystems, for example, the production input price policy is specific to chicken farmers, especially the price of animal feed raw materials (especially corn). As well as the existence of market operations in Jambi's production should be able to be done and studied its sustainability in order to be one of the solutions to maintain the stabilization of chicken egg prices.

ANALYSIS OF PRICE VARIATIONS AND INTEGRATION OF BROILER CHICKEN EGGS MARKET IN WEST SUMATRA

Chicken eggs are one of the primary sources of protein for people in West Sumatra. The level of consumption continues to increase every year, while the availability of broiler eggs is not stable. This condition illustrates the problems faced by consumers and producers, namely price instability. Market integration is a metric that demonstrates how price changes in the reference market affect price changes in the follower market. The objective of this research is to examine the price variation and market integration of broiler eggs in West Sumatra. Coefficient of variation analysis is used to examine price variation, while cointegration analysis with the Vector Autoregression (VAR)/Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) model is used to investigate market integration. The variations coefficient analysis shows that the price of chicken eggs on the market is relatively more stable than that of the consumer market. The results of the integration analysis show that there is no integration between the market for broiler eggs at the producer and consumer levels, both in the long and short term. This is due to the information asymmetry between the two markets.

The Feasibility Analysis of Layer Livestock Business in Alebo Village Konda District South Konawe Regency

This study aims to analyze the feasibility and sensitivity of laying hens in terms of financial aspects and if there is an increase in variable costs and a decrease in product prices. This research was conducted in Alebo Village, Konda District, South Konawe Regency, from September 2021 to January 2022. The object of this research is the Laying Chicken Livestock Business. This research uses the case study method. Research variables include respondent identity and business feasibility analysis. Analysis of the data used in the financial feasibility analysis includes the analysis of Net Present Value, Net Benefit-Cost Ratio Analysis, Internal Analysis of Return, Payback Period Analysis, and Sensitivity Analysis. The results of this study indicate that the financial aspect obtained an NPV value of IDR774.411.584, with a discount factor used of 15%, Net B/C of 2.32, IRR of 49%, the Payback period for two years four months so that the chicken farming business laying breeds are declared financially viable. Based on the sensitivity analysis, the business is still feasible to run despite an increase in the price of corn feed and DOC by 30% and a decrease in the selling price of eggs by 15%.

ANALISIS KELAYAKAN FINANSIAL USAHA TERNAK AYAM RAS PETELUR (STUDI KASUS TAKIHARA FARM) DI KECAMATAN NATAR KABUPATEN LAMPUNG SELATAN

The aims of this research are to analyze the financial feasibility and the sensitivity of laying hens farming. The research was a case study at Takihara Farm in Natar Subdistrict of South Lampung Regency. Data were collected in August 2020 and analyzed by using financial feasibility and sensitivity analysis methods. The results showed that laying hens farming was financially profitable and feasible to be developed. The NPV of laying hens farming was IDR10,131,628,683.22. The Gross B/C value of laying hens farming was 1.15. The Net B/C value of laying hens farming was 2.17. The Payback Period value of laying hens farming was 13.81 years, showing that the initial cash outflow of investment could be recovered less than 30 years. The IRR value of laying hens farming was 13.84 percent, which was greater than interest rate 6 percent. Based on the results of the sensitivity analysis, with an assumption of an increase in the production costs of corn as a feed ingredient for laying hens by 10.73 percent and a decrease in the selling price of chicken eggs by 12.44 percent, the business of laying hens farming is still worth cultivated and developed.Key words : financial, laying hens, sensitivity

ESTIMASI FUNGSI PERMINTAAN DAN ELASTISITAS PERMINTAAN BERAS DI PROPINSI SUMATERA UTARA

Indonesia's agricultural sector has a very important role in the development of the national economy because most of the Indonesian people depend on the agricultural sector. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the demand for rice and to analyze the elasticity of demand (price, cross, and income) of rice in the province of North Sumatra. The data used in this study is Time series data (1998-2018), data analysis using Multiple Linear Regression. The coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.82 indicates that about 82% of rice demand in North Sumatra can be explained by variations in rice prices, mung bean prices, egg prices, income per capita, and population, while the remaining 18% is explained by variations in other variables. which is not included in the model. The results of the over-all test show that the price of rice, the price of green beans, the price of eggs, per capita income, and the population have a significant effect on the demand for rice. Based on the partial test, the price of rice, the price of mung bean, and the population have a significant effect on the demand for rice, while the price of eggs and per capita income have no significant effect on the demand for rice in North Sumatra. The price elasticity of rice is inelastic, the cross elasticity of the price of green beans and the price of eggs is positive or substitution, and the income elasticity of rice is a normal good

Poultry Production and Marketing Systems in Ethiopia: A Review

Chickens are widely kept and make up the largest share in terms of numbers compared to other farm animal genetic resources. The total number of poultry in Ethiopia is estimated to be more than 60.04 million, but its production and productivity are limited. Therefore, this review aims to analyze and summarize data on Ethiopia’s poultry production and marketing system for future improvement. The majority of the Ethiopian poultry farming system was extensive or traditional, with little supplementary feeding practice. Local chickens produce 18 to 60 eggs/year/hen, while exotic breeds produce an average of 250 eggs/year/hen with an average weight of 60 grams of eggs. Chickens and their products are used for income, home expenditure, and consumption. Extension service for the improvement of livestock production in general and poultry production, in particular, found to be weak. There was a higher price of chicken and eggs during the festival than other times. The major problems in poultry production in the country are disease and lack of animal health services, predators, shortage of supplementary feed, and lack of improved poultry housing systems. A better understanding of those constraints and worthy prospects about village chicken production and marketing is an important aspect of improving chicken production.

ANALISIS FAKTOR – FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI PERMINTAAN BERAS C4 DI KOTA SURAKARTA

The demand for c4 rice can experience a decline in Surakarta City from year to year. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the demand for ordinary c4 rice in Surakarta City and how the role of each variable and the degree of sensitivity in determining the demand for c4 rice in Surakarta City is. This research was conducted in Surakarta City. The research method was carried out using a descriptive method for a period of 20 years from 2000-2019 using data from the Surakarta City Central Statistics Agency. The variables studied were the demand for ordinary c4 rice, the price of ordinary c4 rice, the price of c4 king rice, the price of chicken eggs, population and per capita income. The model used is a multiple linear regression model in the form of natural logarithms. The results showed that the price of ordinary c4 rice had an effect on the demand for ordinary c4 rice, while the price of king c4 rice, the price of broiler eggs, population and per capita income did not significantly affect the demand for ordinary c4 rice. The price elasticity of ordinary c4 rice, c4 king rice (substitute goods) and chicken egg prices (complementary goods) is inelastic, while the positive income elasticity indicates a normal goods relationship.

Pricing Strategy for the Organic Eggs: Willingness to Pay and Hedonic Price Approaches

Organic eggs have been marketed to provide safe food and protect the environment sustainability all at once. However, the high price is being an obstacle to expanding the organic egg market in East Java Province. The aims of this research were to analyze the factors that influence the willingness to pay (WTP) and hedonic prices of organic eggs and to formulate pricing strategies. This research was conducted by using an online survey method in East Java Province, Indonesia. The survey was conducted from May to July 2021. The obtained data were analyzed by using multinomial logistic, linear regression, and descriptive analysis. The results showed that 26.4% of consumers were willing to pay for organic eggs 10% more than the current price. The factor that influenced WTP was product quality. Meanwhile, the factors that influence the price were the eggs taste and the organic label. The results showed that market players of organic egg agribusiness still have the opportunity to increase the price of organic eggs. However, they must inform consumers about the health benefits of organic eggs and include them on the organic eggs label.

Production Efficiency of Poultry Small-Scale Laying Hen in Indonesia

Competitiveness of layer business was determined by the level of efficiency, which was influenced by the level of technology adoption, production costs, and economy of scale. This study was carried out from April to July aim to analyse the performance of small-scale layer poultry farming. The study site was in the layer production centre, namely in Payakumbuh West Sumatera, Blitar East Java and Sidrap South Sulawesi. Primary data were collected through interviews with 50 farmers and 12 poultry shops at all study sites. Analysis of the efficiency level is using DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) software and business feasibility using financial analysis. The following were the main research findings: (1) the development of layer farming technology had not been responded well by farmers so that the production level and mortality of chickens were still below standard; (2) relatively, the level of layer poultry farming efficiency in Sidrap and Payakumbuh was better than in Blitar with a value closer to one, where the inefficiency was due to the use of excessive inputs; and (3) small-scale layer poultry farming was financially feasible, where the determining factors were feed and eggs price. The study recommended the need to add both technical service staff from poultry shops and local agricultural extension workers. Feed costs should be reduced by IDR 1,000 in Blitar and IDR 57 di Sidrap per kilogram of eggs produced per period. In addition, an accurate and better allocation of corn for feed was needed to optimise the ratio of feed and egg price optimal.

Forecasting chicken meat and egg in indonesia using ARIMA and SARIMA

. Chicken meat and eggs are part of the main commodities in Indonesia. Indonesian people's consumption of chicken meat per capita per year continues to increase. Indonesian government is trying to lure investments to help fund these growing needs. However, inflation has never been positively affected investments. Furthermore, the price of chicken meat and eggs in Indonesia are vulnerable to such a fluctuation. This price hike causes losses to society, due to higher costs, and to the country: inflation affects the future of investment. So, if ones can forecast both commodities, could help decision makers optimizing their policies. This research forecasts the price of chicken meat and egg using the ARIMA and SARIMA methods. Price forecasting is done on chicken meat and egg because they are interrelated, as seen from the Pearson Correlation Test of 0.92 in the datasets and 0.87 in the forecasting results. The selection of the best model is based on the smallest MSE, MAE, and MAPE. The best chicken meat price forecasting results using the ARIMA(3, 1, 2) with MAPE value of 2.31%, while the best chicken egg price forecasting results is the SARIMA[(2, 1, 1)(2, 0, 2, 0), n] with MAPE value of 3.44%.

How the Covid-19 Pandemic Affects the Prices of Strategic Commodities in Indonesia

This study aims to examine volatility of strategic food commodities price in Indonesia before and during Covid-19 pandemic and to analyze the influence of GRDP and Covid-19 pandemic on prices of strategic food commodities price in Indonesia. Data used is panel data with time series data for quarter 2018-2021 cross section of 34 provinces in Indonesia and uses variation analysis method and panel regression. The results of the analysis show that prices of agricultural commodities, garlic, red chilies, and chicken were more varied before pandemic than during Covid-19 pandemic. Price of cayenne pepper, shallots, beef, and chicken eggs are more varied during pandemic than before Covid-19 pandemic. Prices of industrial commodities, cooking oil and sugar are more varied during pandemic than before Covid-19 pandemic, while price of rice was stable. The result of Random Effect Model regression found that Covid-19 pandemic has positive effect on price of agriculture and industrial strategic food commodities in Indonesia. GRDP only has negative effect on price of industrial strategic food commodities.

SOSIALISASI PENGOLAHAN TELUR ASIN AYAM RAS DI DESA MARGO LESTARI, KECAMATAN JATI AGUNG KABUPATEN LAMPUNG SELATAN

Margo Lestari Village is a village with potential as a laying hen farming center. This can be seen from the people who raise laying hens. However, the high egg production in the village is not matched by egg sales or marketing. This results in the production of eggs that can rot before being utilized or consumed because eggs have a fairly short shelf life. Thus, it is hoped that this service activity can increase the income of farmers through improving the quality of salted egg products from laying hen eggs in Margo Lestari Village. This counseling activity uses the lecture method and question and answer section. Extension activities were carried out on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 09.00 to 12.30 WIB at the Margo Lestari Village Hall, Jati Agung District, South Lampung Regency. The socialization was attended by 20 people, most of whom were breeders. After carrying out community service activities, it can be concluded that there are several things obtained by farmers as participants, namely increasing knowledge related to processing poultry farm products into salted eggs to increase the selling price and shelf life of production eggs in an effort to increase the economic value of farmers. Research of the factor dependence of egg and egg products consumption in the subjects of the Russian Federation

Importance of consummating eggs and egg products in the diet of the population is determined by their high nutritional value. An egg contains a complete animal protein, it has consumer accessibility (both economic and physical) and prevalence in food markets regardless of the territory. The widespread availability (both assortment and price) of eggs and egg products to some extent can compensate for the deficit in consumption of other types of livestock products, which are often not available for socially vulnerable groups of the population with a low level of income. This food group is one of the most valuable products in the structure of rational consumption that meets the modern requirements of a healthy diet, which is reflected in the relevant Recommendations of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation [1]. The conducted research is based on the analysis of the main parameters of eggs and egg products’ consumption. The emphasis is made on the study of statistical information on the number of the living population; the prevailing average per capita money income; consumer average retail prices for the specified food group; the level of consumption, its compliance with a rational level that meets modern requirements for healthy nutrition in equal subjects of the Russian Federation, both in the region, territory, republic, autonomous okrug, autonomous region, and in cities of federal significance: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sevastopol. The result of the study was confirmation of the direct dependence of the reduction in the consumption of eggs and egg products as a result of a decrease in the population's income. The territorial aspect also indicated the existence of such dependence. All this allows us to assert that the fundamental factor affecting the level of consumption of eggs and egg products is the economic affordability of the food group, which depends on the income of buyers [11; 13].

INDICATORS OF ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY OF GROWING DOMINANT GREENSHELL POULTRY

The article examines the peculiarities of the DOMINANT GREENSHELL egg-laying poultry, in particular, the indicator of laying capacity in floor-level growing. Environmental factors affecting the viability and productivity of chickens have beenanalyzed. Data of the experiment has been given and such shortcomings of keeping as loss and high specific weight of dirty and broken eggs have been revealed. The components of the cost price and the change in the cost price of finished products in different periods of poultry breeding have been highlighted. On the basis of the conducted experiment, an explanation has been made regarding the impact of production costs on the cost price of eggs, in particular compound feed. The profitability of the production of eggs with a colored shell for floor-level growing has been analyzed and the necessity of selling them in the premium segment has been proved.
