Currently, the problem of suicide prevention is not losing its relevance. In many countries of the world, there remains a need to take measures to prevent suicide, provide access to quality psychological help and create a supportive environment for people. The purpose of this article is to analyze the perception of police officers about interaction with suicides and offer practical recommendations for organizing effective communication between police officers and suicides. The subject of the study is the perception of police officers about the peculiarities of behavior when interacting with suicides. The study involved 41 respondents aged 19 to 37 years. It should also be noted that police officers have an idea of the basic rules of behavior with citizens prone to suicide. It was revealed that police officers have a general idea of the behavioral characteristics of individuals showing signs of suicidal behavior, and the awareness of officers of the general rules of behavior with suicides is noted. At the same time, it is necessary to constantly expand knowledge, improve the skills of interaction of police officers with potential suicides.

Coaching as a tool for the development of leadership qualities women-entrepreneurs in Ukraine

In 2023-2024, women’s entrepreneurship turned into a driving force of the Ukrainian economy. At the same time, women who had never thought of themselves as a leader came into entrepreneurship. Such women often have low self-confidence, are afraid of responsibility for independently made decisions, and find it difficult to establish communication with the team, clients and partners. At the same time, Ukrainian womenmostly independently try to combine the roles of mother, wife, specialist, entrepreneur, daughter, etc. In such conditions, it is coaching that can turn a noself-confident woman who combines the maximum number of functions in various fields into a real leader. Coaching, as a tool for leadership development, is devoted to the work of DZ. Whitmore, A. Chernenko-Dyba, S. Kovi, O. Nezhynska, M. Landsberg and others. The purpose of the article is to study coaching as a tool for developing leadership qualities of women entrepreneurs of Ukraine. The article describes the key factors of the influence of coaching on the development of leadership qualities of domestic female entrepreneurs, namely: help in increasing self-confidence; development of emotional intelligence; assistance in decision-making; establishment of effective communication with partners, clients, state authorities; ensuring a balance between work and personal life; assistance in strategic planning and development of the contact base of a female entrepreneur. Also given are the main problems that can accompany domestic female entrepreneurs who seek to develop their leadership qualities with the help of a professional coach. At the same time, the author firmly believes that for a Ukrainian woman entrepreneur who really wants to develop her leadership qualities, the priority of her new self — a self-confident woman capable of building her business and leading people should come to the fore. It is under this condition that the given problems are quite easily solved. Based on this, practical and effective steps are proposed to overcome these problems.

The high level of business competition requires each company to create the best business strategy to win market competition. This research aims to determine the implementation of effective communication strategies in marketing public relations at CV. Inti Motor Solo. This research was conducted qualitatively descriptively and data was collected through observation and interview at CV. Inti Motor Solo. The results of the research indicate that marketing public relations activities at CV. Inti Motor Solo are still focused on activities to build consumer loyalty. Marketing Public relations activities carried out include the installation of company identity banners, information services, and consumer loyalty programs. Overall, marketing public relations activies at CV. Inti Motor Solo have implemented effective communication strategies well which include respect, emphaty, audible clarity, and humble.

Codesigning a Digital Type 2 Diabetes Risk Communication Tool in Singapore: Qualitative Participatory Action Research Approach.

Diabetes is a serious public health concern worldwide. Despite public health efforts encouraging early screening and improving knowledge of effective interventions for those at increased risk of type 2 diabetes (T2D), the incorporation of preventative behaviors into an individual's daily life remains suboptimal. Successfully and accurately increasing risk perception has been demonstrated to increase behavioral intention. The study aims to codesign a T2D risk communication tool by engaging public participants to (1) identify key characteristics that contribute to an effective risk communication tool and (2) test and iterate to develop a culturally sensitive and meaningful risk communication tool that can motivate T2D preventative behaviors. We adopted a novel methodology, "Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Hawkers," where we approached patrons at hawker centers and public eateries frequented by all local residents to evaluate and test 3 prototypes for the tool. The three prototypes were (1) "Diabetes Onset"-estimated age of diabetes onset of T2D based on one's risk factors, (2) "Relative Risk"-the relative risk of T2D is presented in a 1-10 scale indicating where one's risk score lie in relation to others, and (3) "Metabolic Age"-the median age of the risk category based on one's risk factors, presented to be compared against their chronological age. We gathered reactions and feedback through rapid testing and iteration to understand which risk result presentation would be received the best. All the collected data were revisited and analyzed using an inductive thematic analysis to identify the key characteristics contributing to an effective risk communication tool. We engaged with 112 participants (female: n=59, 56%) across 6 hawker centers. The key characteristics that were important to participants emerged in four main themes: (1) appeal and user experience, in terms of format and readability; (2) trust and validity of the institution providing the tool and the accuracy of the risk result; (3) threat appraisal: salience of risk information, which influenced their risk perception; and (4) coping appraisal: facilitators for behavior change, which impacted their intention for implementing T2D preventative behaviors. The predictive nature of the prototype entitled "Diabetes Onset" was poorly received and removed after the first iteration. The Relative Risk prototype was valued for being straightforward but feared to be boring. The Metabolic Age prototype was anticipated to be more motivating for behavior change, but there were some concerns that the terminology may not be understood by everyone. Participants were divided on which of the 2 prototypes, "Metabolic Age" or "Relative Risk," they would favor adopting. Further testing is now required to determine which prototype will be more effective in motivating behavior change. This study's insights on the design process and valued characteristics of a risk communication tool will inform future development of such interventions.

Exploring the Dynamics of Communication in the Handling of Child Victims of Intrafamilial Child Sexual Abuse: A Case Study in the Women's and Children's Protection Technical Implementation Unit, Pekanbaru City Government in Indonesia

This study aims to examine the dynamics of communication in handling intrafamilial child sexual abuse, with a case study of RR, a child victim of sexual abuse by her stepfather and cousin, reported to the Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (Unit Pelaksana Teknis Perlindungan Perempuan dan Anak/UPT PPA) of the Pekanbaru City Government. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. Using the constructivist paradigm and the social construction theory by Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann, the collected data were analyzed qualitatively to explore how communication patterns and interactions among the involved parties, including the UPT PPA team, the victim, the victim's family, the Social Services, the Police, Legal Aid, orphanages, and other informal parties, build the social reality of child protection for the victim RR. Data sources were selected using purposive sampling based on criteria until saturation was reached. The findings indicate that despite communication barriers and non-cooperation from the family, effective communication and good coordination among all involved parties are crucial to ensuring the recovery and ongoing legal process for the child victim of sexual abuse. An empathetic, sensitive, and collaborative approach can help the victim feel supported and gradually recover from the traumatic experience. Collaboration between institutions plays an essential role in providing protection and social rehabilitation for RR. The dynamics of communication in handling intrafamilial child sexual abuse involve the dialectical processes of externalization, objectification, and internalization among the various parties involved. An Exploration into Parallel Stories of Co-parenting

This research aims to gain insight into how divorced couples prolonged conflict influences co-parenting process and to identify the factors influencing the effectiveness of co-parenting arrangements and to identify challenges experienced during co-parenting. In-depth individual interviews were conducted with six couples practicing co-parenting in Kerala, each with at least one child. Interview followed a dyadic interview model and analysed using thematic analysis. Thematic analysis identified 4 key themes The four themes are; 1) Roles etched in stone (sub-themes; custodial arrangements, mother as a primary care taker, father as a breadwinner, divorce as a social problem). 2) Balancing the seesaw of co-parenting dimensions(sub-themes; co-parental communication, parenting practice, conflict resolution). 3) Riding the stormy sea (sub-themes; emotional rollercoaster, communication can be real challenge, troublesome other & I, parental alienation) 4) Finding solace in life’s storm (sub-themes; social buffers, professional assistance, spiritual fortitude). The research findings underscore the impact of traditional gender roles and societal expectations on post-divorce co-parenting, often relegating mothers to primary caregiving and fathers to financial roles, which limits fathers' emotional involvement and exacerbates mental well-being challenges for mothers. Effective communication is crucial for managing co-parenting complexities and minimizing conflicts arising from inconsistent practices and financial disparities. The study advocates for a parallel co-parenting approach that promotes autonomy for each parent, clear communication, and conflict resolution strategies, particularly benefiting high-conflict situations. By fostering flexible and resilient co-parenting dynamics, parallel parenting approach aims to improve emotional involvement from fathers, reduce societal stigma towards mothers, and ensure the stability and well-being of divorced families. The findings can help us understand the intricate challenges of co-parenting after divorce in Kerala.

Needs Analysis for Designing English Course for Tourist Police in Mandalika Special Economic Zone

In the era of globalization and increasing international travel, effective communication in English has become a fundamental requirement for individuals working in various professional fields.The objectives of this research are to find out the authentic tasks and authentic texts that needed to be included in designing English for the tourist police in Mandalika Special Economic Zone (Mandalika SEZ), and to know how the design of the English course for tourist police in Mandalika Special Economic Zone (Mandalika SEZ) to improve language skills in their workplace. The subjects of the study are five tourist police officers who are fluent in English from 15 Tourist Police officers who work in the Mandalika Economic Zone. The techniques used to collect the data are observation, interview, questionnaire, and focus group discussion. The data analysis technique follows Miles and Huberman’s model (reduction, data display, conclusion drawing/verification, and syllabus design). The syllabus encompasses a total of seven key authentic tasks tailored to enhance the officers' communication and operational capabilities in various scenarios. These tasks include: Communicating During Emergencies, Giving Directions, Conducting Safety Checks, Conflict Resolution, Writing Reports, and Providing Assistance. In conclusion, the English syllabus for tourist police officers in Mandalika SEZ is carefully crafted to meet their needs through practical tasks, relevant materials, and effective assessment methods. This design enhances both language skills and real-life problem-solving abilities, serving as a valuable model for future training and improving the overall service quality and efficiency of the officers.

THE DIPLOMAT WITHIN: LEADING WITH UNITY IN A MULTIPOLAR WORLD

AbstractThe authors, who have varied and extensive experience in areas such as business and law, note that their “article leverages our collective experiences worldwide as leaders, lecturers, coaches, and speakers, that underscore the increasingly urgent need for diplomacy skills in everyday human interactions.” They further discuss the importance of diplomacy and diplomatic skills in modern workplaces. The authors “introduce the following three‐tiered Personal – Organizational ‐ External Diplomacy Framework, inspired by modern diplomatic thought. It cuts through dense literature on diplomacy and provides a navigational tool on how to add diplomacy skills into the organization’s DNA to nurture peaceful coexistence and achievement of goals, from interpersonal to global engagements.” They discuss three steps in detail, which in their words are (1) Mastering Personal Diplomacy, (2) Developing Organizational Diplomacy, (3) Developing External Diplomacy. For instance, core skills in step 1 are, in their words, self‐awareness, emotional intelligence, systems thinking, positive regard for others, effective communication, and trust building skills. Step 2 includes, in their words, Leadership Diplomatic Composure, Psychological Safety and Performance, Learning and Development, Engagement and Dialogue, Diversity and Teamwork, and Strategic Implementation. Step 3 includes, in their words, Engagement with External Stakeholders, Leadership in Global Challenges, and Public Diplomacy and Policy Advocacy.

SOME IMPORTANT ASPECTS USED IN ENHANCING STUDENTS’ PROFICIENCY WHILE TEACHING SPECIALIZED ENGLISH

The teaching of specialized English encompasses a multifaceted approach that integrates the four fundamental language competences - writing, speaking, reading, and listening - within the context of specific professional domains. This article synthesizes the most important aspects in teaching specialized English, elucidating the significance of genre-based instruction, authentic materials, task-based learning, and formative assessment in fostering language proficiency and disciplinary literacy. Drawing upon theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence, we delineate pedagogical strategies and approaches that empower learners to navigate the complexities of language use within specialized domains with confidence and competence. Knowledge of specialized English is an indispensable tool for people who want to excel in various professional fields, where effective communication is essential for success. That is why teachers should analyze thoroughly the students’ level of English and provide them with necessary information and authentic materials in order to develop their skills and help them become high quality specialists in their domains.

When the going gets tough: Educational leadership and resilience in times of crises

Managing and leading under challenging conditions is one of the hallmarks of effective leadership. In today’s educational environment, educational leaders and managers must be swift-thinking and fast-acting in their approach. This demands building resilience. In this mixed-methods study, the researchers explored educational leadership and resilience during crises. The study sought to answer two overarching questions: What lessons did educational leaders learn from the COVID-19 experience, and How do the lessons learned prepare educational leaders to be resilient in times of crises? Data for this study were collected via survey and interviews. Survey data were analysed using descriptive statistics, and interview data were analysed using Taylor-Powell and Renner’s (2003) five-step approach. The major findings revealed a necessity for proactive planning, effective communication, and a team approach. Leaders highlighted the importance of resilience training, preparation, and emotional intelligence in navigating crises. The findings provide valuable information that could be used to equip educational leaders and managers to build resilience and augment the practice of educational leadership, particularly during times of crises. Therefore, the recommendations emphasise the need for comprehensive crisis leadership training, the development of contingency plans, and continuous professional development to enhance leaders’ capacity to manage future disruptions effectively.

Assessing the Use of Virtual Pointers in Laparoscopic Surgery Training Activities.

Laparoscopic surgery has advanced significantly; however, effective communication within the surgical team remains challenging, particularly in training scenarios where misinterpretation of instructions can lead to errors. Virtual pointers, indicating the instructor's gaze through eye-tracking devices and overlaying it onto the screen using augmented reality (AR), can enhance understanding and reduce errors. In a study involving 10 participants divided into experts and novices in laparoscopic surgery, various pointers (differing in shape, size and colour) were analysed in an AR environment using the HoloLens2 device. The aim was to assess the acceptance of these pointers by both groups, understand how their characteristics affect perception, and evaluate the AR device's usefulness. Initial results showed an 80% acceptance rate. After analysing the pointers, this decreased to 60%, as some experts changed their opinion from positive to neutral. The study revealed that the characteristics of the pointers significantly affect their perception, with large, thick-rimmed pointers being preferred. Orange was the best-performing colour. The device used also influenced perception, as experts who changed their perception criticised certain aspects of the head-mounted display. The study highlights the potential of virtual pointers to improve communication in laparoscopic training, particularly when their size, shape, and colour are optimised. Further research with a larger sample size is needed to confirm these results and explore the HoloLens2's influence on users' perceptions. These insights could guide the development of more effective training tools for minimally invasive surgery.

Promoting intergenerational learning in higher education: participants’ perspectives on co-management and project-based learning

ABSTRACT Intergenerational (IG) practices foster understanding among diverse age groups, enhancing active ageing and social cohesion. Universities, as key stakeholders in lifelong learning, are pivotal in IG initiatives. Hence, this study investigates IG practices, rooted in project-based learning and co-management, in an international collaboration of universities. It explores participants’ views on IG learning experiences, emphasising generational perspectives and institutional situatedness. The research was conducted in 2022/2023 across Central and Eastern European universities, involving 45 participants (25 older learners, 20 students). Focus group interviews were employed, using a hybrid deductive-inductive approach. Results reveal age-related differences in IG learning perceptions: younger participants emphasised self-expression and connections, while older adults reported view changes about younger generations. Project-based collaboration and effective communication were key facilitators. Institutional situatedness was also identified as a relevant perspective. Participants at Mendel University emphasised the social engagement of older adults; at Eötvös Loránd University, the focus was on the choice of topics and roles; while at University of Split, there was an emphasis on fostering creativity and cooperation. The study thus underscores IG learning’s complexity and advocates for inclusive IG practices in universities, leveraging project-based and co-management principles.

Multimodal Sensemaking and Sensegiving Processes of Discursive Threat Appraisal in Environmental Crisis Communication

ABSTRACTThis study investigates how multimodal sensemaking and sensegiving processes of discursive threat appraisal are employed by global movements in their environmental crisis communication when disclosing how corporate commitments are failing to reduce the global plastic pollution. The theoretical framework includes perspectives on global sticky crises, threat appraisal, framing, crisis sensemaking and sensegiving, and multimodal discourse. Empirically, a series of brand audits reports of #breakfreefromplastic global movement are systematically examined. The analytical focus transcends the usual monomodal approach and is directed towards the multimodal interplay that builds strategic discourses through images and texts. Findings details, on the one hand, the multimodal discursive sensemaking processes of content enrichment and appeal bolstering as well as their outcomes related to the building of common sense, new sense, and non‐sense; on the other hand, they clarify how prognostic, diagnostic, and motivational framing tasks are accomplished in environmental crisis sensegiving by the global movement. This study provides insights useful to corporations when reevaluating their own crisis sensemaking and sensegiving in corporate communications and, ultimately, contribute to changing risky corporate behaviour toward more effective and ethical environmental crisis prevention and communication.

Unlocking sustainability: exploring the nexus of green banking, digital transformation, and financial performance with foreign ownership moderation

The purpose of this research is to empirically test and analyze the impact of green banking, digital transformation, and asset quality on the financial performance of commercial banks with foreign ownership as a moderator. Additionally, it aims to test and analyze the financial performance of sustainable business practices for commercial banks. This study was conducted on commercial banks, specifically focusing on bank groups categorized by core capital levels 3 and 4, listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, covering the period from 2017 to 2022. This research employed a judgment sampling technique, encompassing a total of 47 conventional commercial banks. Panel data regression analysis, a data analysis technique, used three variables: the dependent variable, the independent variable, and the moderation variable. The research unveiled that green banking does not appear to have a significant positive impact on financial performance, whereas digital transformation shows a clear positive effect. Non-performing loans, a measure of asset quality, also affect financial performance. Additionally, foreign ownership strengthens the impact of green banking on the financial performance of commercial banks in Indonesia. However, foreign ownership does not enhance the effect of digital transformation. Finally, foreign ownership plays a moderating role in the relationship between asset quality and financial performance in these banks. Ultimately, financial performance has a significant positive influence on sustainable business, suggesting that stronger financial performance contributes to the long-term sustainability of a bank’s operations. The implications of these findings are, first and foremost, that financial institutions should prioritize incorporating sustainable and environmentally friendly practices into their operations to improve their overall financial performance and emphasize the critical role of digital transformation in enhancing financial performance. Consequently, financial institutions are required to allocate resources towards information technology infrastructure and cultivate digital capabilities to adapt to evolving customer demands, such as offering 24/7 banking services from any location. Secondly, financial institutions should not stay far away from digital disruption, but rather embrace it and adapt their strategies accordingly, which includes allocating an adequate budget for IT infrastructure investment and accessing digital services that meet the banking industry’s demands, resulting in effective communication of sustainable practices.

UNFOLDING THE IMPACTS OF CYCLING TO THE SOCIAL SKILLS

This qualitative research study aims to determine the impacts of cycling on the social skills of cyclists at the University of Mindanao. It consists of research questions to know how cycling has influenced students' social skills. The descriptive-qualitative method research design was used. It is a method that collects information based on the responses of the respondents. This study focuses on all courses at the University of Mindanao; hence, a sample of 30 participants was chosen using an online interview. Moreover, we constructed interview questions that were conducted through Google Meet. The response matrix was used to collect, analyze and categorize the given data. In addition, we have transcribed the responses we came up with and categorized these codes to generate themes. Furthermore, the study's findings indicate that through cycling, a cyclist can develop these social skills: interpersonal skills, basic communication skills, greater active listening skills, provide mutual support and develop effective communication. Also, the researchers came across the different programs and approaches that the school and students would benefit from. The Role of Nursing in Reducing Medical Errors: Best Practices and Systemic Solutions

Medical errors remain a significant challenge in healthcare, contributing to patient harm and increased costs. As frontline caregivers, nurses play a pivotal role in minimizing these errors by implementing best practices and advocating for systemic improvements. This article explores the various types of medical errors and emphasizes the critical role of nursing interventions in error prevention. Key best practices discussed include effective communication strategies such as SBAR, medication management protocols, and the use of technological tools like Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Barcode Medication Administration (BCMA). Additionally, the article addresses the importance of continuous training, fatigue management, and interdisciplinary collaboration in reducing error rates. Systemic solutions are also reviewed, including fostering a culture of safety, ensuring adequate staffing, and implementing evidence-based protocols. The findings suggest that while nurses are integral to preventing errors, healthcare institutions must provide the necessary support and resources to optimize their efforts in promoting patient safety. Ultimately, the article highlights the need for both individual and organizational commitment to reducing medical errors.

Cultural Diversity, Communication, Inclusivity and Collaboration in Nigerian Workplaces: A Review

The increasing cultural diversity in Nigerian workplaces has intensified the need for effective communication strategies to manage intercultural interactions and foster inclusiveness. This study examines the implications of cultural and linguistic diversity within Nigerian organizations, addressing the complexities of navigating ethnic, religious, and linguistic differences. The Communication Accommodation Theory (CAT), Social Identity Theory (SIT), and Intergroup Contact Theory provide foundational frameworks for understanding and managing these dynamics, with CAT highlighting how convergence and divergence in communication styles can bridge or amplify social divides. Through a detailed analysis of Nigerian workplace environments, this paper identifies key communication challenges, including language barriers and identity-driven in-groups, while proposing strategies rooted in CAT, SIT, and Intergroup Contact Theory to enhance collaboration and reduce tensions. Recommendations for organizational management, such as language training and structured intergroup activities, aim to foster a more inclusive and productive environment, acknowledging both the opportunities and challenges posed by Nigeria’s unique socio-cultural landscape.

The Role of Emotional Intelligence in HR Leadership: Building Strong Teams in a Multigenerational

Emotional intelligence (EI) has been recognized as a crucial factor in human resources (HR) leadership, especially in building strong teams within a multigenerational work environment. This study aims to explore the role of emotional intelligence in HR leadership in addressing the challenges posed by diverse generational dynamics. Using a qualitative approach and case study method across several multinational companies, this research examines how HR leaders with high emotional intelligence can enhance team cohesion, facilitate effective communication, and manage intergenerational conflicts. The findings reveal that HR leaders with strong EI skills are better equipped to understand the emotional needs of employees across different age groups, ultimately helping to foster an inclusive and productive work environment. Leaders with high EI are also more responsive to the evolving needs of employees, from Baby Boomers to Generation Z, thus creating a flexible workplace culture that supports individual development. Challenges in applying EI in HR leadership are identified in the areas of differing values, communication styles, and expectations between generations, which can hinder team integration if not properly addressed. This study concludes that emotional intelligence is an essential competency for HR leaders to create cohesive and competitive teams within multigenerational organizations. Recommendations include developing EI training programs, adapting leadership strategies that are responsive to generational diversity, and raising awareness of the importance of EI in fostering team synergy.

Integrating an Annotation Project in a Senior-Level Biomedical Engineering Course to Develop Primary Literature Analysis and Science Communication Skills

Abstract Purpose This paper describes a senior-level biomedical engineering course designed to educate students on primary literature analysis and effective scientific communication. The course integrates elements from both disciplines through in-class discussions of primary research articles and an innovative annotation project utilizing the Science in the Classroom (SitC) program. Methods The course incorporates weekly discussions of seminal research articles led by the instructor in the field of biomedical microdevices, bi-weekly quizzes to assess comprehension, and a novel final project where student groups collaborate to annotate a high-impact scientific article through the SitC program. The annotations aim to make the article accessible to a broader audience while training the students in primary literature analysis and effective scientific communication. Results The course effectively enhances student understanding of primary literature, as evidenced by the significant improvement in quiz scores following in-class discussions. Additionally, student participation in the annotation project contributes valuable educational resources to the SitC program, promoting the dissemination of scientific knowledge to a wider audience. Conclusions The novel aspects of the course, specifically the annotation project, offer a unique learning experience by equipping students with the necessary skills to navigate and critically analyze primary research articles. The course also fosters effective scientific communication, transforming students into active contributors to the scientific community. Recommendations are included for instructors interested in adopting this novel approach to teaching primary literature analysis and scientific communication.

Student professionalism in clerkships.

Professionalism can be challenging to assess during clerkships. Current literature focuses either on aspirational generalities or professionalism lapses. Most tools assessing professionalism employ Likert scales. This study investigated the frequency and detail with which clerkship directors describe professional behaviours in end-of-clerkship narrative assessments. We analysed de-identified core clerkship final narratives from one New York City medical school collected in academic years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. We used ATLAS.ti and the six-step thematic approach outlined by Braun & Clarke to perform a qualitative analysis, coding each semantic unit. We found that 176 out of 753 narratives (23%) mentioned professionalism, but only 29 (16%) of those provided a detailed description including an anecdote or example. Focusing on these most detailed comments, we identified seven core themes: managing time, following through on expectations, eager to engage, work ethic & efficiency, effective communication, going above and beyond and situational awareness. Themes range from simple behaviours to sophisticated behaviours that may not fully develop until residency. Narratives that use the word "professional" or "professionalism" without examples are unlikely to facilitate learning, meaningful assessment or opportunities for remediation. Our hierarchical framework can be used to teach students how to navigate the current clinical environment and can assist supervisors in providing students with specific, actionable feedback and assessment. Our model explicitly fosters a growth mindset in assessing and developing professionalism.
