This study aims to systematically develop and analyze the effectiveness of an educational program designed to enhance AI-integrated education competencies of pre-service home economics teachers. Based on a thorough review of relevant literature and the ADDIE model, a 12-session educational program was developed. The program included detailed lesson plans, instructional PowerPoint slides, and student activity materials, all validated by 12 experts specializing in home economics and AI-integrated education. To assess the program's effectiveness, it was implemented over four weeks with 24 pre-service home economics teachers pursuing teacher certification. Pre- and post-program evaluations of AI-integrated education competencies, along with satisfaction surveys, were conducted. The results showed significant improvements across all domains, including AI-integrated education literacy, application, and values. Additionally, the program received a high satisfaction rating, with an average score of 4.78 out of 5. This study is significant as it incorporates the unique characteristics of the home economics discipline in developing AI-integrated education for pre-service teachers. It is expected to serve as a foundational resource for fostering AI-integrated education in home economics as these pre-service teachers transition into their teaching careers.

This study evaluates the impact of developing a culturally grounded GeoGebra application on students' mathematical visual thinking abilities. Against the backdrop of a dearth of educational applications catering to local cultures, the research aims to address this gap. The methodology encompasses pre-test and post-test assessments, learning motivation surveys, classroom observations, and interviews with both students and educators. Data analysis reveals a significant enhancement in students' mathematical visual thinking abilities following the utilization of the application, accompanied by an upsurge in their learning motivation levels. These findings are corroborated by classroom observations and interviews, underscoring the application's role in augmenting student engagement and facilitating a more concrete understanding of mathematical concepts. The implications of this study underscore the significance of integrating culturally grounded educational technology to enhance the efficacy of mathematics education within the students' cultural contexts

Innovation in Islamic Religious Education in The Digital Era for Students' Religious Tolerance Character Building in Elementary School: An Implementation of Beyond the Wall Learning Model

The digital era has brought significant changes to various aspects of life, including education. This article explores innovations in Islamic religious education that leverage digital technology to foster religious tolerance among students. Through the "Beyond the Wall" learning model, which includes the use of educational applications, e-learning platforms, and augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies, the learning process becomes more interactive, personalised, and contextual. This study uses a qualitative case study method at SDN Tempurejo 2 Jember, which has integrated technology into Islamic religious education. The results indicate that the use of digital technology not only enhances student engagement and understanding of the subject matter but also effectively internalises values of religious tolerance. Interfaith interactions through collaborative projects and dialogue forums help students understand and appreciate differences, build solidarity, and develop a strong attitude of tolerance. The main challenges faced are the digital divide, the need for teacher training, and issues of digital security and ethics. With the right strategies, this learning model can be an effective solution for shaping students' character to be more tolerant and appreciative of diversity in the digital era. This study uses data collection techniques involving in-depth interviews with teachers, students, and parents, as well as direct observations of the learning process at SDN Tempurejo 2 Jember. Additionally, documentation in the form of video recordings and field notes was used to explore the dynamics of student interactions in a technology-based collaborative project. The collected data were analyzed using a thematic analysis approach, where the data were grouped into key themes related to understanding religious tolerance, the use of technology in learning, and the challenges faced. This analysis also includes mapping student involvement in collaborative projects and dialogue forums. To ensure the validity of the data, this study employed source triangulation, which compares the results of interviews, observations, and documentation. Furthermore, member checking was carried out by requesting confirmation from informants to ensure the accuracy of the collected data. External validity was also tested by comparing the findings of this study with relevant literature on the use of technology in Islamic religious education.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the STEAM instructional materials centered on mathematics developed by pre-service teachers and the difficulties they experienced in the process of developing the instructional materials and to derive implications for their ability to develop STEAM instructional materials. To this end, the course “Understanding Creative Convergence Education” was operated in the first semester of 2022, and five types of STEAM teaching materials developed by pre-service teachers and focus group interview data from two teams were collected. As a result of analyzing the collected data in the areas of STEAM education goals, STEAM activity processes, STEAM evaluation, and STEAM education application, it was found that the criteria for analysis elements such as interest and understanding of science and technology, creative design process, and diversity of evaluation areas were somewhat insufficient, and it was difficult to meet these elements in the development process. Therefore, when developing STEAM instructional materials, it is necessary to provide pre-service teachers with an opportunity to develop STEAM instructional materials in a step-by-step and gradually manner by having them accurately recognize the importance of these elements, and to provide them with practical experience in implementing STEAM education through programs linked to school field.

This research seeks to evaluate the collocational strength of fixed expressions in Persian, specifically those formed by combining nouns and adjectives, while also exploring potential educational applications. The study utilizes the Bijankhan corpus to conduct a 2-gram analysis, examining the frequency and concentration of noun-adjective pairings. To assess the concentration of these combinations, the researchers employed market concentration ratios (CR) and the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI). The findings reveal a significant number of fixed expressions where certain noun-adjective combinations occur with notably higher frequency than expected. Furthermore, through an Observed/Expected (O/E) ratio analysis, the study identified fixed expressions with combinations that appeared much more frequently than anticipated. These expressions are proposed for inclusion in Persian language teaching materials. The researchers anticipate that the results of this study will contribute to alleviating the learning burden on students of Persian and improving overall learning efficiency.

The Adventure of Artificial Intelligence in Educational Research from the Past to the Present

This study aims to examine scientific studies on artificial intelligence (AI) in educational research from the past to the present, based on the Web of Science database. In this context, 1465 scientific articles containing AI in education from the past to the present were evaluated. Articles accessed from the WoS database were examined using a bibliometric analysis method according to productivity, network analyses, conceptual structure, and thematic map titles. Within the scope of productivity, authors, institutions, countries, citations within the scope of network analysis, authors, institutions, sources, and countries were included in the analysis. In addition, thematic changes over the years, word cloud, collaborations, conceptual formations, and thematic mapping were carried out based on keywords. In this context, 1465 scientific articles published by 3783 authors representing 86 countries were included in the research. According to the research findings, the number of studies and citations on AI in education has increased significantly, especially in the last five years. The Education University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong stand out as productive institutions. While China, England, and the USA stand out as the countries of responsible authors, Hwang, G. J., stands out as the author of network analysis, and the Computer Education journal stands out as the journal. As a thematic change in the studies, there has been an evolution towards new technological developments such as deep learning, machine learning, ChatGPT, chatbots, learning analytics, blockchain, and generative AI. According to the factor analysis conducted on the conceptual structure of AI-related studies in education, it was determined that it explained 48% of the total variability. According to the study findings, studies on AI applications in education should be enriched from a disciplinary perspective, and efficiency should be increased regarding their reflections on teaching.

Exploring the Impact of Assistive ICT Tools on the Academic Performance and Social Integration of Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder

This study examines the use of assistive Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools to affect the academic performance and social integration of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) — a neurodevelopmental condition that resists standard educational practices. The research, using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design with 100 students, 6–16 years, showed significant improvements in academic skills (17–18% in reading, writing, and mathematics), and in social behaviors (22–23% in cooperation, communication, and self-control), using interventions such as speech generating devices, educational applications, virtual reality, and wearable technologies, after a six-month intervention. Individualized, consistent application of these benefits is highlighted by strong tool usage correlations with outcomes. However, barriers such as cost, accessibility, and poor training are still a deterrent to the implementation of inclusive education here. The implication of this study is that there is a need for actionable strategies to enhance assistive ICT by optimizing their integration in education for ASD students so that it is sustainable and equitable support.

Enhancing Programmable Logic Controller Teaching in Vocational Colleges: Strategies for Deeper Understanding and Practical Application

This paper addresses the problems faced in programmable logic controller (PLC) teaching in vocational colleges and proposes countermeasures to overcome these challenges. The study emphasizes the need for a deeper understanding of fundamental concepts and the integration of practical application in PLC education. It suggests involving students in teacher-led projects to enhance their programming skills and problem-solving skills. Additionally, the paper highlights the importance of interactive learning and collaborative discussions to foster student engagement. Furthermore, it emphasizes the cultivation of innovation consciousness through participation in innovation competitions and projects. The implementation of these strategies has shown positive results in improving learning outcomes and preparing students for careers in automation and control. This research contributes to the development of effective teaching approaches in PLC education in vocational colleges.

The training of teaching preceptors in healthcare through continuing education: improving student learning and the teaching work environment

This opinion article emphasizes the relevance of continuous training for teaching preceptors in healthcare, particularly in medical education, while addressing the challenges faced by these professionals. The objective of this article is to explore the role of teaching preceptors in healthcare education, focusing on their impact on student learning and professional development. This research is justified by the critical role that teaching preceptors play in bridging theoretical knowledge and practical application in healthcare education. The study addresses a significant gap in the pedagogical preparation of preceptors, a topic often overlooked in discussions about medical education. The methodology of this study combines a bibliographic review with the practical experiences of two authors who are currently pursuing medical degrees. The bibliographic review served to establish a theoretical basis by analyzing existing literature on preceptor training, teaching methodologies, and the humanization of healthcare practices. The results bring attention to the fact that many preceptors lack formal training in teaching methodologies, which limits their ability to foster effective student-preceptor interactions.

In modern society, the national element of sport and physical fitness is still a distinctive feature of their development, since this is not only the nature of the engine, but also the methods and principles of organizing the educational process. The physical culture of the Kazakh people should find wide application in modern physical education. He fulfills the basic requirements of the modern process of physical education and sports, and also carries out education, training and rehabilitation of society.

8th Grade Students' Opinions on 3D Virtual Laboratory Applications

Experimental applications in science education make learning more meaningful, and learning without experimenting cannot be fully absorbed. However, increasing costs, time constraints and risk factors that may occur during the application make hand-made experiment activities difficult. The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the 3D virtual laboratory application prepared for science education on students, unlike traditional plain lecture teaching, and to reveal the opinions of students who are taught with the application. In this context, the research was conducted on 5 8th grade students in Konya province in the 2021-2022 academic year with the 3D virtual laboratory application prepared for the science unit "Matter and Industry". After the research, a semi-structured interview was conducted in which open-ended questions were asked to the students about the applications and the process, and the students' verbal opinions were taken. During the interview, student conversations were recorded on the computer and then transcribed and examined. As a result of the interviews with the students, it was seen that the effects of 3D virtual laboratory applications on students were very positive. In addition, considering cost, time and risk factors, it can be suggested that virtual laboratory applications may be preferred to handmade activities.

The Effect of Augmented Reality Applications on Secondary School Students’ Achievement of Atom Models and Theirs Attitudes

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of Augmented Reality (AR) applications, which are a new approach in education, on students' achievement and attitudes. For this purpose, on the basis of science education, a content, which was consistent with the syllabus, about atomic structure and atom models in the topic of structure and properties of matter was developed by the experts for the 7th grade students in secondary education and AR applications were integrated into the content. The Vuforia SDK software was used to design the content. The study was conducted on 205 secondary school students from six classes enrolled in a school in province of Gaziantep, in 2017-2018 academic year. Experimental group (n=103) and control group (n = 102) were randomly assigned. In this study, pretest-posttest with control group quasi-experimental design was used. The data of the study were collected using the achievement test, the Augmented Reality Applications Attitude Scale (ARAAS) and a semi-structured interview. The quantitative data were analyzed using t test while the qualitative data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results of the statistical analysis indicated that the teaching method integrated with AR applications was a more successful method in promoting students' achievement of Atomic Structure and Atom Models compared to the traditional teaching method. In addition, students with a high level of interest in technology have been more successful in the tests than those with less interested. On the other hand, the data from the ARAAS applied to the experimental group indicated that student attitudes are positive, they are satisfied with using the AR, they do not carry concerns about use and they want to use them in different courses in the future. The experimental group students, through the semi-structured interview form, reported that the AR applications made significant contributions to the educational environment and the teaching process.

Abstract. The modern world is actively moving towards digitalization, which requires efficient distribution of video content on a variety of end devices. The problem is that different usage scenarios impose different requirements on security, quality, and latency when transmitting video. The aim of the study is to identify the most suitable protocols for video dispatching in educational and real-world applications using the Rust programming language, known for its security and performance. Protocols such as HTTPS (TCP), BitTorrent, HLS, WebRTC, SRT and DASH have been investigated and analyzed. The results show that HLS and DASH have advantages in adaptive streaming in a changing network environment, while SRT and WebRTC provide low latency and high reliability for applications requiring real-time operation. The practical significance of these findings is confirmed by successful integration into educational systems, which ensures stable work even with a change in workload. Discussion: in the future, it is recommended to explore the combined use of several protocols, such as HLS and SRT, to improve the overall efficiency and reliability of video data transmission, as well as integration with CDN to improve quality and reduce load.

Entrepreneurship as a direction of management education for a socio-cultural activity manager

The article examines the implementation of entrepreneurship as a direction of management education for a manager of socio-cultural activities. The definition of "entrepreneurship" is analyzed, 3 approaches to its interpretation are identified: 1) entrepreneurship as a type of economic activity; 2) management style; 3) behavioral phenomenon, behavior model. The characteristics and features of entrepreneurship are outlined, and its functions are defined. The EU regulatory documents on the implementation of entrepreneurial competence as a mandatory component in the training of specialists, including managers of socio-cultural activities, are analyzed. The World Economic Forum reports and forecasts on the skills that will be needed by employees for 5 years, starting from 2018 (the first reports of the World Economic Forum) are analyzed. The article proposes a system for implementing entrepreneurship as a direction of management education for a manager of socio-cultural activities, consisting of the following elements: 1) result - received management education of a certain educational level (knowledge, skills, abilities, competencies, learning outcomes); 2) process - the process of acquiring knowledge through a complex of channels of direct and indirect interaction between academic staff and higher education applicants; 3) a set of necessary conditions created by higher education institutions for the effective training of higher education applicants; 4) social phenomenon (social institute) - a system of educational institutions and institutions through which socio-cultural activity managers are trained. An analysis of the characteristics of entrepreneurship in the Standards of Higher Education in the specialty 028 "Management of socio-cultural activities" for the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education is carried out; The complex of channels of direct and indirect interaction between a university teacher and a higher education student used in the implementation of entrepreneurship as a direction of management education of a socio-cultural activity manager has been investigated; the set of conditions created by higher education institutions for the effective training of higher education students has been determined; the system of educational institutions and institutions that carry out educational activities to train managers of socio-cultural activity has been analyzed.

Mental maps as an innovative tool in university training

The article reveals the content and considers the mental map from the perspective of innovative training of specialists in the modern educational environment of higher education. Different positions of considering the mental map as an innovative tool in training specialists are shown. Cloud services are presented that can be used in developing mental maps when preparing seminar or lecture classes, and types of mental maps in the modern educational environment of higher education are identified. The rules for creating them are developed, and the advantages of a mental map as an innovative tool in training specialists in the modern educational environment of higher education are shown. Comparison of quantitative and qualitative analyses of the results of the experiment indicates that the implementation of pedagogical conditions in the process of introducing a special course in EG according to the components of the diagnostic apparatus led to statistically significant changes, an increase in scores on the motivational criterion, cognitive criterion, activity criterion, and evaluation criterion, and therefore we observe positive dynamics in the use of mental maps by higher education applicants and their positive impact on the process of training specialists in the modern educational environment of higher education.

Evaluating AI Capabilities in Bariatric Surgery: A Study on ChatGPT-4 and DALL·E 3's Recognition and Illustration Accuracy.

With the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) in medical education, tools like OpenAI's ChatGPT-4 and DALL·E 3 have potential applications in enhancing learning materials. This study aims to evaluate ChatGPT-4o's proficiency in recognizing bariatric surgical procedures from illustrations and assess DALL·E 3's effectiveness in generating accurate surgical illustrations. Illustrations of six bariatric surgical procedures (One Anastomosis Gastric Bypass, Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Single Anastomosis Duodeno-Ileal Bypass with Sleeve Gastrectomy, Sleeve Gastrectomy, Biliopancreatic Diversion, and Adjustable Gastric Banding) were sourced from the IFSO Atlas of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. ChatGPT-4 was tasked with identifying each procedure based on these illustrations to evaluate its classification accuracy. Simultaneously, DALL·E 3 was prompted with the specific names of each procedure to generate corresponding medical illustrations. ChatGPT-4 correctly identified only the Adjustable Gastric Banding illustration, misclassifying the other five procedures. DALL·E 3 failed to produce accurate illustrations for all six procedures. The study underscores the need for further evaluation of AI in bariatric surgery. Both ChatGPT-4 and DALL·E 3, while promising, have significant limitations in recognizing and generating accurate illustrations of bariatric surgical procedures. These findings call for continued research and development to make AI models suitable for medical education applications in bariatric surgery.

Writing and optical characteristics of anti‐glare screens for educational applications

AbstractAs electronic displays have become to be used under ambient illumination environment, the situations have been increased which the screens are exposed to the various types of ambient light sources. Since the reflection of ambient light by the screen generally results in the lack of visibility of the displayed contents, anti‐glare layer (AGL) on top of the screen has been applied to suppress unwanted reflection. Meanwhile, handheld digital devices have been actively adopted to enhance the quality of learning experiences. Although it was pointed out that the impact of glare may lead to shorter viewing distance or poor posture of the students, there was not enough information regarding the relation between writing and optical characteristics of the anti‐glare screen. The purpose of this study is to provide information, which will help to select the appropriate screens for each application. Through the experiments with different AGLs and the displays, coefficient of friction, gloss value, sparkle contrast, and display modulation transfer function (MTF) were selected to characterize the writing and the optical characteristics. While the trend of the gloss values was similar to that of the display MTF, the trend of the sparkle contrast was different from them. These results were summarized as radar charts.
