AbstractSpin‐flip Raman spectroscopy (SFRS) reveals an intrinsic in‐plane anisotropy of the conduction band spin splitting in dilute magnetic semiconductor quantum wells based on cadmium telluride, containing a twodimensional electron gas, and intended for studies of extrinsic anisotropies induced through nanomagnets. We consider various possible sources of this intrinsic anisotropy (interface, bulk or structural inversion asymmetries) and we ascribe the present results to an interface‐related inversion asymmetry of the quantum wells.
