Digital Organisational Culture: Capturing Local Banking in Digital Transformation

Digital transformation in banking is a must and related to the culture in an organization to serve customers using digital technology to transform the internal processes of the business. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the process of digital transformation and the role of digital organizational culture in digital transformation in local banking. The sample of this study is employees who work at Bank Bengkulu (Bank of Bengkulu) which is a local government-owned bank. The research was conducted with a qualitative approach using open-ended questions with the e-survey questionnaire method. The collected data are analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. Research findings show that micro themes of digital transformation, such as outside-in, cross-work collaboration, work creativity, and agile leadership, are still not significantly developed at Bank Bengkulu. In addition, cultural behavior, digitalization capabilities, digitization skills, IT infrastructure, and business processes are also still weak. Some technology programs are still in the early stages of development and progress is slow. In conclusion, this study illustrates that digital transformation and digital organizational culture are still not significantly developed at Bank Bengkulu. Constraints such as inadequate human resource skills, weak IT infrastructure, and lack of responsiveness in the face of change need to be considered. The implication of the results of this study is the importance of attention to digital skills development, IT infrastructure improvement, and organizational culture change to achieve successful digital transformation at Bank Bengkulu.

HOW DO WE ENSURE THE QUALIFICATION OF CIVIL SERVANTS WITH DIGITAL SKILLS IN EUROPE? A COMPARATIVE STUDY

Digital transformation has become a desire for states due to its real benefits to society. Public sector employees must prepare professionally to successfully implement digitisation projects of public services. In this context, the issue of digital skills of civil servants is a priority for the public administration. In this study, we performed a comparative analysis of institutions that provide professional training in the digital field for public sector employees. The purpose of this work is to analyse which are the models of good practices to follow when we talk about the digital transformation of public administrations in Europe. At the same time, the objective of the comparative analysis is to establish a set of priorities regarding the digital skills that must be pursued through the professional training processes of civil servants. The work offers interesting insights on how these institutions are sharing their responsibilities. The conclusions of this study can be useful to public institutions in Romania in order to improve digital transformation processes.

Optimizing digital transformation paths for industrial clusters: Insights from a simulation

Digital technologies have revolutionised industrial clusters, implementing digital transformation without careful consideration can lead to higher risks and ineffective investments. However, the existing research often focuses on enterprises in a specific position, whereas the entire supply chain or end-to-end research is rarely conducted. To fill this gap, this study proposes a sectoral innovation system. It conducts a simulation model to study the digital transformation process by considering the behaviour, knowledge learning, and innovation of upstream and downstream enterprises in different cluster types. The simulation dynamically presents production and productivity changes during the transformation process of the entire industrial cluster. The results reveal that an orderly transformation path is the most effective for Marshallian clusters, whereas a simultaneous transformation works best for central satellite clusters. In addition, the social network simulation before and after the digital transformation of the two industrial clusters shows that enterprises in central-satellite clusters communicate more frequently during digital transformation, which is ultimately conducive to a better performance of the digital transformation of industrial clusters. These findings emphasise the need for tailored digital transformation strategies based on cluster type to maximise benefits, underscoring the importance of leading firms in industrial clusters. It also guides the government's industrial policy formulation and management enlightenment regarding the digital transformation of enterprises.

Resource integration and firm performance through organizational capabilities for digital transformation

PurposeDigital transformation is a foundational change in how firms operate and deliver value to customers by using digital technologies to create new business opportunities. The purpose of this study is to offer a conceptual framework by reorganizing the elements of digital transformation, including resources, technology, capabilities and performance, into a workable process and investigating how firms integrate these resources, build new capabilities and transform them into enhanced performance.Design/methodology/approachThis framework builds three blocks: resource integration, organizational capabilities and outcomes, exploring the impact of resource integration on outcomes through organizational capabilities. For resource integration, this study adopts a resource-based view (RBV) and service-dominant logic (SDL) to integrate organizational resources, including information technology (IT)-based resources, which play a role in moderating the effect of resource integration. Moreover, the author argues that firms’ capabilities have two levels: higher-order capabilities and lower-order capabilities, which will convert these resources through the capabilities into organizational performance.FindingsThis framework is built to understand the process of digital transformation and its antecedents for firms’ performance in business environments. Drawing on RBV, it provides a more holistic perspective that has been linked to resource integration, organizational capabilities and outcomes at the firm level. In this way, the theoretical basis for diminishing implicitness associated with the current perspective of digital transformation can be strengthened.Originality/valueThis paper offers a coherent discussion of digital transformation and explains the process of digital transformation, thus advancing prior work. The major contribution is connecting the process of digital transformation through which firms integrate resources, i.e. digital technologies and valuable, rare, inimitable and nonsubstitutable (VRIN) and nonVRIN resources as well, to build organizational dynamic capabilities based on RBV and SDL.

Improving Inclusivity of Digitalization for Employees in Emerging Countries Using Gamification

Digitalization has transformed businesses, especially during the ongoing pandemic. Firms have gradually moved to digital ecosystems and e-marketplaces. Digital transformation (DT) has helped firms improve profit margins, better engage customers, improve productivity, and reduce any functional and operational lags. While some firms have strategically transformed themselves in the digital space, others have adopted technology in an unstructured way. As a result, these firms’ employees have been exposed to sets of new technologies. While some have adopted them based on their past experience, others have perceived them as challenges and have resisted change. This brings us to an important question of whether the DT is inclusive. In this article, the hedonic motivation system adoption model (HMSAM) and flow theory were used to investigate the inclusivity of DT and to propose a modified HMSAM model. As part of in their respective firms’ DT process, employees are exposed to a gamified environment. This article collected data from retail sector employees based in an emerging nation and tested hypotheses using structured equation modeling.

It highlights the strategic aspects of implementing digital initiatives in the business sphere, such as enhancing customer experience, improving operational efficiency, and increasing productivity. The article also emphasizes the importance of creating a digital culture that fosters innovation and collaboration. The article identifies the key areas of digital transformation for businesses, including automation, artificial intelligence and cloud computing. It provides an in-depth analysis of the role of small, medium-sized, and large corporations in this transformation and emphasizes that businesses must develop a proactive approach to digital transformation to stay competitive in the market. Moreover, the article explores detailed strategies that can help businesses effectively adapt to digital changes, such as embracing new business models, investing in digital infrastructure, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. It also highlights the importance of data security and privacy in the digital age. The article provides recommendations for governments and regulators to support innovation and entrepreneurship, creating an enabling environment for the development of the digital economy. It emphasizes that governments must promote collaboration between the public and private sectors, encourage digital literacy, and invest in digital infrastructure. In conclusion, this article provides a descriptive and informative analysis of the implications of digital transformation for businesses and the economy as a whole. It emphasizes the need for businesses to embrace digital transformation, adapt to the changing digital landscape, and leverage new opportunities arising from it.

Modern international competition has an ambiguous impact on the processes of digital transformation, both from the perspective of mastering new digital technologies and in the context of further stimulation of innovation by countries around the world. The article evaluates the prospects for effective management of the changes that arise under the influence of new drivers of the digital transformation of the world economy. The potential and advantages of new digital technologies create new opportunities for achieving the goals of sustainable socio-economic development of the countries of the world and their economic growth. However, for digital transformation, technologies for ensuring, maintaining and increasing the international competitiveness of national economies are of decisive importance.

Digital design in the HRM system as a component of the sustainable development strategy

The article is devoted to digital design in the human resource management system and its role in the implementation of the organization's sustainable development strategy. Digitalization of the Russian economy in the field of human resource management is becoming increasingly popular, opening up broad prospects for the economic growth of enterprises and stimulating competition in the market. In turn, the focus on digital transformation of the HRM system is reflected in the strategic management of the enterprise. The purpose of the work is to analyze digital design in the HRM system as a component of the strategic management process in the light of the sustainable development of the organization. A systematic approach was chosen as the leading approach to the research, considering the process of digital transformation as a complex and, at the same time, holistic phenomenon included in the organization’s’s management system. During the research, an analysis of the dynamics of digital transformation implemented in the form of projects in the field of HRM was carried out, trends in the digitalization of personnel management processes were identified, segments of digital design in the HRM system were identified, the main suppliers of digital design solutions were indicated, drivers and problems of digitalization of HRM systems were noted, and the role of digitalization of the HRM system in the sustainable development strategy.

The article is a profound sanalysis of the correlation between innovation processes and the processes of digital transformation taking place under the influence of the accelerating development of advanced digital technologies. Based on the analysis of a number of industry studies, the topic of the article is focused on artificial intelligence and augmented reality technologies - rapidly developing technologies of digital transformation of industrial companies, which have a large market volume, high development potential and present significant key advantages. Based on the results of the analysis of the digital transformation solutions market, it was substantiated that the artificial intelligence market and the augmented reality market have not yet reached the stage of their maturity, and are at the stage of displacement of competitors.

Navigating digital transformation in accounting system: Challenges and opportunities

The primary objective of this study was to assess the challenges associated with the digital transformation process in the accounting systems of companies listed on the Khartoum Stock Exchange, focusing on the perspectives of senior management, financial management, and technology management. These departments were considered integral due to their profound understanding of digital transformation processes, requirements, and existing as well as anticipated challenges. Employing a descriptive-analytical approach, the study utilized a questionnaire to gather data from 315 individuals within the study population. The results revealed a favorable inclination among Khartoum Stock Exchange-listed companies towards digital transformation, manifested through a notable automation of accounting procedures, the cultivation of a digital culture, and the adoption of strategic approaches for digital transformation. However, the study identified several challenges, including insufficient technological infrastructure at the national level, the absence of a clear national strategic plan for digital transformation, and limited financial resources allocated to digital transformation in accounting systems. The study also proposed a set of solutions to address these challenges, categorized into national and corporate levels.

Experiencing Education 5.0 for Civil Engineering

Nowadays, the construction industry's digital transformation processes are challenging civil engineering education. In general, students and society underestimate the civil engineering field as an outdated and archaic knowledge area. Despite the defragmentation and heterogeneity of the sector, advances have been made on the path for Construction 4.0 and 5.0 scenarios. From this perspective, the CONSTRUCT-Gequaltec group of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto have been sponsoring research and technological development using hardware and software targeting construction management solutions. This paper presents the work in progress mainly connected to the curricular units regarding project management in the Construction Section of the Civil Engineering Department. It also targets assumptions of some expected results across the research and innovation priorities from ECTP Innovative Built Environment and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Two fundamental elements of the teaching practices are presented as the Construction Sites of the Future (Laboratory-Based Education initiative) and Digital products catalogue targeting Digital Twins in Construction (Project Based Learning initiative). The learning outcomes address increasing knowledge of innovative solutions, delivering skills to deploy 5.0 actions, and targeting human-centred and sustainable attitudes and values.

Exploring the Influence of Exploitative and Explorative Digital Transformation on Organization Flexibility and Competitiveness

Digital transformation processes help integrate digital technologies across all the departments of organizations, as well as to adopt digital technology rapidly in an organization. Enhanced organizational innovativeness, efficiency, and competitiveness might be among the outcomes of digital transformation. While digital transformation could be exploitative and explorative in nature, how such a transformation could impact the flexibility and competitiveness of organizations has not been extensively investigated. Against this backdrop, the main objective of this article is to investigate the influence of exploitative as well as explorative digital transformation on organization flexibility and competitiveness. Building on existing theories and literature, a research model is developed that was later tested using a covariance-based structural equation modeling approach applied to the responses of 312 managers from Indian organizations, which are in the process of pursuing digital transformation or have already adopted digital technologies in different departments. This article found that digital transformation helps organizations to become more flexible and it eventually improves the competitiveness of the organizations.

Research on Digital Media Content Production and Dissemination Mode Based on Artificial Intelligence

Abstract In order to study the effect of digital media content production and dissemination supported by artificial intelligence technology, we aim to improve the dissemination and influence of digital media in short video platforms. This paper takes digital media as the research object and launches research on digital media content production and dissemination mode. Based on the research method of inquiry description, the core process of digital media intelligent transformation was deeply analyzed, and the overall logical framework of digital media intelligent transformation was designed. The digital media content production flow model is built by combining data integration and aggregation mining from a digital media content perspective. A graph-convolution matrix decomposition recommendation model for digital media broadcasting was developed by analyzing the performance of algorithmic recommendation in digital media applications. The results are presented: in terms of the order of influence degree size, the degree of influence on the number of likes is greater for political news (Beta = 0.2026, p < 0.01) than for military science and technology (Beta = 0.1637, p < 0.01) than for social news (Beta = 0.1225, p < 0.05), i.e.It indicates that the content theme is shifting from traditional social news to political news, which makes it easier to increase the heat of content dissemination. This study helps us think about the impact of media content production and dissemination strategies in the age of mobile Internet and provides new inspiration for communication theory research.

Modeling processes of digital transformation of organization and waste collection of farming households

The article justifies the necessity of using software tools to organize the processes of waste collection, sorting, temporary storage, and disposal for farms and large agro-industrial complexes. To create a specialized software product, formal models of the processes are developed which show all aspects of their implementation. The method of structural analysis is used to identify key objects and corresponding rules of their interaction. The use of Business Process Model and Notation enables the creation of models that depict the interaction of objects and the relationships between tasks, as well as the necessary resources for the developed software product. These models can be used to create a software product and technical documentation supporting the process of its operation, as well as to create job descriptions.

Digitalization of Regional Policy in the Field of Employment Assistance

The author studies the degree of influence of the state policy on the development of the digital economy on the regional policy in the field of employment assistance in the light of the concept of improving the quality of working life on the example of the subjects of the Russian Federation included in the Ural Federal District: Kurgan, Sverdlovsk, Tyumen, Sverdlovsk regions, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra and Yamaloenets Autonomous Okrug. As an empirical material, regional strategies of socio-economic development, strategies in the field of digital transformation of key sectors of the economy, social sphere and public administration, programs in the field of employment assistance, legislation on employment of the population were studied step by step. It is established that in the subjects of the Ural Federal District, strategic planning documents adopted in the field of employment assistance reflect the needs of the digital economy to varying degrees. Most often, such provisions relate to stimulating the active use of a single digital platform in the field of employment and labor relations “Work in Russia”. At the same time, gaps were identified in the formulation of the main provisions of strategic planning documents (goals, objectives, activities, target indicators), as well as inconsistencies between them. For the most part, the maximum level of digitalization is achieved when determining the main directions of development of the regional economy. It is concluded that such an emphasis significantly slows down the process of digital transformation of the sphere of employment assistance. The results of the study allowed us to formulate a number of recommendations that can be used to improve regional state policy and legislation in the field of employment assistance, taking into account the concept of improving the quality of working life.

Digital transformation of agricultural business processes in the system of factors ensuring food security in Russia

The article examines the concept of food security as a key element of the country’s national security system, describes its tasks in the context of sanctions pressures on the main sectors of the economy, including agriculture. The author’s classification of the factors influencing the provision of food security in Russia is given, their content and dynamics of development are disclosed. The definition of agricultural business processes is given, the classification of their types and decomposition for the sub-sector of field farming with the allocation of precision agriculture is given. The problematic field of practical implementation of the process of digital transformation of the agricultural sector has been identified and the main directions for overcoming it have been outlined.

МАРКЕТИНГОВА КООРДИНАЦІЯ ІННОВАЦІЙНИХ ПРОЦЕСІВ В УМОВАХ ЦИФРОВІЗАЦІЇ

Digitalization is a change of the business form in the context of digital reality, taking data into account. The authors considered the main definitions of the digital economy as a concept. Digitalization is one of the key directions in the marketing strategy of business development. This procedure finds its application at every stage of the innovation process: development, production, and bringing the product to the market. The research paper considers the influence of business processes of digital transformation on marketing activity; the study organizes the interaction of market subjects in the digital environment, and it determines the nature and direction in which the transformation of processes that control marketing activity in the digital economy occurs. The proposed network of marketing communications in the digital environment represents the overall system in which marketing coordination exists – precisely this outline indicates the digital platform on which this interaction is currently implemented. It has resulted in possible ways of implementing communication in the context of digitalization. The study reveals the peculiarities related to coordinating of innovative processes based on relationship marketing. It determines their advantages in the marketing coordination of innovative processes: intensification of processes, reduction of costs, and increase in the speed of particular processes. Disadvantages have been also identified, they are the risk of stealing ideas and hacking, and the search for competent employees which is currently difficult to accomplish. However, the digitalization process does not cancel and does not change the tasks that marketing solves: market research, product promotion, and others. Rejection of digitalization or lagging in the development of this area faces the companies with significant costs and losses, such as loss of customers, drop in sales volume, loss of suppliers and business partners, and, finally, image. The successful application of digitalization provides the ability to manage relationships with counterparties through various channels, respond promptly to requests, and extract the necessary information from the data array. Appropriate marketing tools vital for the creation of innovative technologies have been developed.
