Structure-Activity Relationships in Oxygen Electrocatalysis.

Oxygen electrocatalysis, as the pivotal circle of many green energy technologies, sets off a worldwide research boom in full swing, while its large kinetic obstacles require remarkable catalysts to break through. Here, based on summarizing reaction mechanisms and in situ characterizations, the structure-activity relationships of oxygen electrocatalysts are emphatically overviewed, including the influence of geometric morphology and chemical structures on the electrocatalytic performances. Subsequently, experimental/theoretical research is combined with device applications to comprehensively summarize the cutting-edge oxygen electrocatalysts according to various material categories. Finally, future challenges are forecasted from the perspective of catalyst development and device applications, favoring researchers to promote the industrialization of oxygen electrocatalysis at an early date.

Evaluation of The Poedji Rochjati Score Card (PRSC) on Digital Platform @hamilku.id Based on The Delphi Method

The number of cases and deaths of mothers and babies in Indonesia is increasing, which is mediated by low-risk detection in early pregnancy, and a lack of knowledge resulting in the dissemination of pregnancy-related information tends to be poorly understood. As a solution to this problem, the purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness and usability of the Poedji Rochjati Score Card (PRSC) feature on the @hamilku.id Digital Platform based on the Delphi method. Qualitative research methods with technical observations were carried out online by obstetricians and gynecologists. The main focus of this research was usability testing involving 46 pregnant women who used the application and 9 randomly selected respondents. The assessment and evaluation were guided by the Delphi method, which involved two rounds of testing by six obstetricians and gynecologists. The results were descriptively analyzed. The findings showed that pregnant female respondents aged between 17 and 34 years had a higher education level, were dominated by people without jobs/housewives, were domiciled in Sidoarjo, had undergone antenatal care (ANC) ≤ 6 times, and had undergone ≥ 5 pregnancies. According to the PRS, 52.2% of pregnant women were classified as having high-risk pregnancies (HRPs). Based on the evaluation of the application from the usability aspect, 83.3% of the participants stated that the information was comprehensive and that the medical terminology was easy to understand. However, only half of them considered visualization in the form of images or animations to be very helpful in illustrating pregnancy risks. Delphi testing with obstetricians and gynecologists revealed that the digital PRSC features generated positive ratings, indicating that the tool is accurate, informative, easy to understand, and effective at improving the quality of health services. The second round showed an improvement in the quality and relevance of the digital PRSC features, with more diverse feedback from the respondents providing a broader perspective for future research and feature development. As a result, the digital PRSC feature can help individuals precisely and accurately identify pregnancy risks.

Uncovering barriers and drivers: private developer participation in the urban regeneration of Riyadh’s residential inner-city neighborhoods

ABSTRACT Cities worldwide are experiencing substantial urban expansion, leading to environmental degradation. Riyadh is a good example of this, growing at a rapid pace resulting in the urban sprawl becoming environmentally, socially, and economically unsustainable. Urban densification and sustainable revitalization are approaches to limit land usage, accommodate a growing population, and maintain high-quality urban areas, particularly, in the inner city. This process is complex and dynamic and necessitates the involvement of private developers whose engagement plays a critical role in facilitating property redevelopment. This research examines the barriers and drivers that impact developer participation in rejuvenating inner city neighborhoods in Riyadh. The mixed methods of a survey and focus group discussions are used to examine the perspectives of private developers. Three key themes evolved focusing on investment potential, the regulatory environment, and key enablers of urban regeneration. The findings reveal a cautiously optimistic view of these themes, with several challenges and opportunities identified. This research highlights the need for a holistic approach to urban planning for regeneration and land use management, especially in inner-city residential areas. This study adds to the scarce research on urban regeneration in the Middle East context and establishes a foundation for future research.

BALANCED SCORECARD DESIGN AS A MODEL FOR MEASUREMENT OF PUSKESMAS PERFORMANCE IN EAST LOMBOK DISTRICT

The objective of this study is to develop a performance measuring model based on the balanced scorecard framework at the UPT Puskesmas Suela in East Lombok Regency, using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique. This research employed qualitative approaches. Data were gathered with a paired comparison questionnaire employing the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) scale. The performance evaluation of community health centers is conducted using four reference standards, including the financial perspective, community perspective, internal business process perspective, and development and learning perspective. Utilizing this technique for data processing is beneficial in making judgments based on many factors. The research findings indicate that the primary criterion of utmost importance for community health centers is finance, with a weight of 0.465450. The subsequent prioritization criterion is society, assigned a weight of 0.214555. Additionally, both the internal business process criteria and development and learning criteria hold equal significance, each with a weight of 0.112321. Related indicates that Puskesmas as a public sector agency focuses on improving performance on financial perspectives.

Strategic pathways for a bioeconomy with high value-added products: Lessons learnt from the Latvian forest sector

Climate change, the increasing global demand for food and feed and the loss of biodiversity, requires a shift towards a sustainable, innovative and knowledge-based bioeconomy. Simultaneously, the implementation of a strategic approach to the utilization of the sector and associated bioresources that aligns with the principles of sustainability represents a significant challenge. The aim of this study is therefore to develop a methodology for policy and decision makers to facilitate a knowledge-based bioeconomy policy planning framework. To map the development opportunities of the bioeconomy, a detailed analysis was conducted on the Latvian forest sector. This entailed an examination of the system's components within the sector, which involved the collection and analysis of statistical data, reports, and official information from forest sector stakeholders, with the objective of obtaining a comprehensive overview of Latvia's forest sector. Following the identification of the current enablers and constraints of the sector, a selection of niche products with high value-added for sector development was made. During group model building experts: (1) developed a SWOT matrix for the Latvian forest sector; (2) selected three wood-based high value-added products – textile from trees; particle board; natural thermal packaging; (3) elaborated SWOT/TOWS analysis to facilitate strategy development for the niche products. The developed methodology incorporates a synthesis of established scientific methods, including SWOT, TOWS, and AHP, with a bioeconomy system component analysis approach. The methodology therefore not only systematises the process of forest sector analysis, but also applies the findings to the development of sector development pathways aimed at shifting from low value-added to high value-added production. The innovation of the methodology lies not only in the combination of methods used, but also in the insights gained, which allow for a narrower product development perspective to be taken in order to understand the enablers and constraints of the sector and vice versa.

Accelerating decarbonized economic growth through net-zero entrepreneurship: Low-carbon economic development perspective

Net-zero entrepreneurship is a novel concept introduced in the context of carbon neutrality, and exploring whether it can catalyze decarbonized economic growth is a worthy pursuit. This study constructs a comprehensive, low-carbon endogenous economic growth model to scrutinize the intricate nexus between net-zero entrepreneurship and decarbonized economic growth. Empirical validation employs a series of multiple regression models to rigorously test the hypotheses derived from the theoretical framework using an extensive dataset spanning Chinese provinces. The results reveal a nuanced landscape. (i) Net-zero entrepreneurship plays a remarkable role in promoting decarbonization growth, with considerable regional heterogeneity. (ii) Green technology progress exhibits a notable mediating effect. (iii) Environmental regulation and industrial structure optimization have positive moderating effects. (iv) The results passed alternative dependent variable and one-phase lag regression robustness tests. In a distinct contribution to entrepreneurship literature, this study augments the discourse on strategies to steer low-carbon transitions. The research findings indicate that net-zero entrepreneurship can accelerate the global decarbonization process, and green technology progress is a significant driving mechanism in this process. Additionally, it is essential to strengthen environmental agencies’ regulatory oversight and optimize industrial structures to pave the way for transformative sustainable growth. In the future, more entrepreneurs should be encouraged to engage in green technology and business model innovation to contribute to global decarbonization efforts.

Theory and practice on mesentery margin in vessel-oriented complete mesentery resection of gastric cancer

The concept of mesenteric anatomy has been evolving in cognition. With the continuous development of endoscopic techniques, the submicroscopic structures of many mesenteries have been gradually understood, ultimately confirming the ubiquitous presence of mesenteries in the digestive organs. Based on various domestic and foreign mesenteric anatomical theories and combined with years of clinical practice, we have summarized and proposed a new concept and theory-vascular-guided complete mesenteric resection for gastric cancer. The theoretical basis is that, from the perspective of the embryonic development of the digestive tract, the rotation of the digestive tract and its associated mesentery is always centered on blood vessels. Therefore, the supply vessels and digestive tracts and their associated mesentery are naturally connected. The mesentery is a complex structure that encompasses blood vessels, nerves, and lymphatic tissues. The blood vessels serve as the boundary of the mesentery, ensuring that the lymphatic network that drains the tumor is maximally resected. This article focuses on the complete mesenteric resection margins in gastric cancer surgery, that is, the lateral boundary of the mesentery as the vascular-supplied guided resection boundary and its mesentery, and the base boundary as the mesenteric bed. Using precise vascular guidance to define the extent of mesenteric resection will help accurately define the mesenteric margin during radical resection for different stages of gastric cancer.

Relevance and quality of the Gipuzkoan extracurricular youth sports program: an evaluation from a positive youth development perspective.

Physical activity and sport (PAS) programmes are an important part of organized extracurricular activities for children and young people. They appear as potentially inclusive environments where students could be provided with holistic development based on active and healthy lifestyles. The aim of this study was to evaluate and describe the Gipuzkoa School Sport Programme (GSSP) from the positive youth development (PYD). The research was carried out based on CPAR (Critical Participatory Action-Research) methodology: a "CPAR group" was created -including researchers and policymakers- to carry out the evaluation of the GSSP in which we analyzed (a) the social environment or PYD climate and (b) life skills. The evaluation and description of the GSSP confirmed that it meets most requirements for providing positive development contexts and opportunities for PYD. The choice of prioritizing multisport and deliberate play and putting early specialization aside seem key conditions to ensure PYD-promoting environments. This work could serve as a referent for decision-makers in organizations dedicated to designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating PYD-focused extracurricular youth sport programmes.

Bacterial cellulose materials in sustainable energy devices: A review.

This article provides a comprehensive review of the processing and applications of bacterial cellulose (BC) for energy conversion and storage devices. These emerging technologies enable the transformation of sustainable energy sources into electricity. Once converted, energy storage devices are vital for stable energy supply. To promote green manufacturing practices in this field, bio-based materials are explored as alternative materials for energy devices, addressing the growing demand for sustainable solutions. From a research and development perspective, the materials chosen for energy devices must exhibit exceptional mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties, along with the necessary chemical reactivity to unlock new applications. Furthermore, for successful commercialization and industrialization, these materials must be suitable for large-scale production within practical timeframes. BC fulfills all of these requirements. The review begins with an overview of BC growth, detailing the composition and operating parameters of the culture medium and the design of bioreactors for large-scale production. It then defines and summarizes both in-situ and ex-situ modifications and processing strategies, offering a comprehensive perspective on these techniques. Unique and interesting properties linking BC's structure to its properties are reviewed to demonstrate its potential as a substitute for benchmark materials. The exceptional performance and synergistic effects of BC-derived hybrid materials highlight their potential for state-of-the-art applications in energy devices, and are suitable for the next-generation energy devices. The papers reviewed in this work have gained significant attention and been widely cited over the past 10years for their relevance to various practical applications, allowing readers to have a better understanding in development of BC based materials for energy conversion and conversion devices.

Natural biomaterials in the management of the aortic valve pathology. Biomedical and clinical aspects: A review.

Heart valve diseases are a prevalent cardiovascular pathology worldwide, affecting nearly 2.5% of the population. Degenerative aortic stenosis is the most common form of heart valve disease. The treatment options include surgical or transcatheter procedures. There are two main categories of valve prostheses available: mechanical heart valves constructed from synthetic materials and bioprosthetic heart valves made from natural biomaterials. The choice of valve type depends on various factors, including the underlying medical condition, suitability for anticoagulation, valve durability, and the patient's age and preferences. Mechanical heart valves have the advantage of long-term durability. However, patients receiving mechanical implants are subjected to lifelong anticoagulation therapy with an increased risk of thromboembolism and bleeding. Natural biomaterials do not require long-term anticoagulation. However, they experience degenerative changes leading to structural valve deterioration that may require reoperation. The purpose of this article is to review the role of natural biological materials used for aortic valve replacement or repair, assess their biomedical and clinical advantages and limitations, and analyze the direction and perspectives of future development.

An Overview of Naphthylimide as Specific Scaffold for New Drug Discovery

Naphthylimides play a pivotal role as aromatic heterocyclic compounds, serving as the foundational structures for numerous pharmacologically significant drugs. These drugs encompass antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer, antimalarial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antithrombotic, and antiprotozoal agents. The planar and heteroaromatic characteristics of naphthylimides grant them a strong ability to intercalate into DNA. This intercalation property renders naphthylimide derivatives highly valuable for various biological activities. The advantageous pharmacological activity and ease of synthesis associated with naphthylimides and their derivatives provide significant benefits in the design and development of new compounds within this class. Currently, only a few such molecules are undergoing preclinical and clinical evaluations. In this paper, we have compiled the literature on naphthylimides reported by researchers from 2006 to 2024. Our focus lies on exploring the pharmacological activities of their analogues from a drug development and discovery perspective, while examining their structure–activity relationship and mechanisms of action.

Study on Influencing Factors and Control Points of Design Estimate of Landscaping Engineering

In recent years, China’s landscaping projects have developed vigorously, and the growth rate of urban garden green space areas has been maintained at about 5%. Overall, with the development of the national economy and the support of macro policies, people’s demand for close to nature and beautify the environment is gradually increasing, which has brought new growth momentum for the development of the landscaping industry. Simultaneously, from the perspective of future economic development and urban development, the landscaping industry still has a lot of room for development. However, with the rapid development of landscape engineering, the problem of cost control of landscape engineering is becoming more prominent, the phenomenon of budget overestimation is common, and there are many factors affecting the cost of landscape engineering, which brings difficulties and challenges to the analysis of its influencing factors and cost management. How to scientifically analyze the influencing factors and control the cost has become an important link in the landscaping project. To solve the above problems, this paper takes the design stage of landscaping engineering as the background, takes the design estimate of landscaping engineering as the research object, through literature research and data collection, fully excavates the main influencing factors of the design estimate stage of landscaping engineering, analyzes the key points of cost control, and provides reference ideas and directions for the later cost management and control.

Analisis Semantik Konsep Rezeki dalam Tafsir Al-Misbah dan Implikasinya dalam Konteks Kognitif dan Etis

This study examines Quraish Shihab’s interpretation of the concept of rizq in Tafsir al-Misbah through the lens of Jean Piaget’s cognitive development theory and Lev Vygotsky’s socio-cognitive theory. The academic problem addressed is how the concept of rizq, involving effort, prayer, and social interaction, can be understood from the perspective of cognitive development and social ethics. The study aims to fill the gap in tafsir analysis by incorporating psychological approaches, particularly in understanding how theological thoughts on rizq influence cognitive development and the formation of individual ethics. The research method used is textual analysis of Tafsir al-Misbah with theoretical approaches from Piaget and Vygotsky, exploring both cognitive and ethical aspects in the process of acquiring rizq. The novelty of this research lies in applying psychological developmental theories to tafsir analysis, a rarely undertaken approach in Quranic exegesis studies. The results indicate that Quraish Shihab's interpretation of rizq encompasses cognitive aspects that encourage logical and abstract thinking about effort and prayer, as well as ethical aspects that emphasize social responsibility and integrity in the pursuit of sustenance. This tafsir promotes the development of a proactive mindset and a strong ethical awareness through social interaction within the community.

A survey of deep causal models and their industrial applications

The notion of causality assumes a paramount position within the realm of human cognition. Over the past few decades, there has been significant advancement in the domain of causal effect estimation across various disciplines, including but not limited to computer science, medicine, economics, and industrial applications. Given the continous advancements in deep learning methodologies, there has been a notable surge in its utilization for the estimation of causal effects using counterfactual data. Typically, deep causal models map the characteristics of covariates to a representation space and then design various objective functions to estimate counterfactual data unbiasedly. Different from the existing surveys on causal models in machine learning, this review mainly focuses on the overview of the deep causal models based on neural networks, and its core contributions are as follows: (1) we cast insight on a comprehensive overview of deep causal models from both timeline of development and method classification perspectives; (2) we outline some typical applications of causal effect estimation to industry; (3) we also endeavor to present a detailed categorization and analysis on relevant datasets, source codes and experiments.

Do ICT and green technology matter in sustainable development goals?

AbstractThe desire for development in developed and developing countries has caused difficulties in realizing environmental goals. For this reason, initiatives such as Sustainable Development Goals have been taken to balance economic growth and environmental goals. Recent research from a sustainable development perspective has shown that skilled human capital, green technology, and ICT play an essential role in the sustainable management of natural resources. In this context, the present study aims to reveal the impact of natural resource rent, economic complexity, human development, green technological innovation, and ICT on ecological footprint. It also focuses on the moderating role of green technological innovation and ICT in the relationship between natural resource rent and ecological footprint. The findings show that natural resources and ICT are the causes of environmental degradation in G7 countries, whereas economic complexity, human development, and green technological innovation improve environmental quality. It has also been discovered that ICT and green technological innovation have a moderating role in the natural resources of G7 countries. In E7 countries, natural resource rent and economic complexity increase environmental degradation, whereas human development, ICT, and green technological innovation contribute to environmental quality. Causality findings are similar in both country groups. The findings show that synergies between SDG‐4 and SDG‐13 in G7 and E7 countries can help achieve climate action sustainably and effectively. Moreover, achieving SDG 13 in E7 countries requires interactive policies to achieve SDG‐12 and SDG‐17. Achieving SDG‐8 and SDG‐17 targets in G7 countries can contribute to combating climate change.
