Abstract- Single crystals of pure and CuSO4 Figure 1: Photograph of the grown pure and CuSO addedL(+) – tartaric acid crystals added L(+) - tartaric acid were grown by slow evaporation technique. The molar concentration of CuSO used in the present study were 0.005M, 0.01M and 0.05M. The grown crystals were characterized by energy dispersive spectroscopy, powder x-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and dielectric measurements. The elements presented in the grown crystals were identified by the energy dispersive x-ray analysis. The powder x-ray data were indexed and the lattice constants were determined. Fourier transform infrared spectrum revealed that all the functional groups are presented in the pure and CuSO44 added L(+) - tartaric acid crystals. The variation of dielectric constant were calculated in the range 20Hz to 20KHz and it was found that the dielectric constant was increasing when the CuSO concentration was increased.
