Politeness Strategies of Romantic Conflicts in Bridgerton’s Netflix Series (2020)

Romantic conflicts can be managed with the use of politeness strategies. Therefore, this study was carried out to investigate the usage of politeness strategies performed by main male and female characters in Bridgerton’s Netflix Series (2020) while dealing with romantic conflicts. The aims of this present study are at identifying the types of politeness strategies employed by main male and female characters in Briedgerton’s Netflix Series (2020) and revealing politeness strategies impact romantic conflicts of main male and female characters in Bridgerton’s Netflix series (2020). In order to conduct this study, this study adapted theory of politeness strategies proposed by Brown and Levinson (1987) and conflict resolution strategies as proposed by Sillars et al (1983). The method applied was a descriptive qualitative method since the data were in the forms of utterances and being identified descriptively based on the theory adapted. This recent study found that all types of politeness strategies employed by main male and female characters in Bridgerton’s Netflix series (2020) while dealing with romantic conflicts. This research revealed that there are differences regarding Simon and Daphne applying types of politeness strategies. Other than that, positive politeness is mostly employed to actualize cooperative strategy in dealing with romantic conflicts. Furthermore, in applying competitive strategy in dealing with romantic conflict, main male and female characters preferred adapting off-record. The least strategy in solving romantic conflicts used by main male and female characters is that avoidance strategy. This strategy can be done with mostly negative politeness.

Pengembangan Keterampilan Sosial dan Akademik Siswa Melalui Strategi Pembelajaran Kooperatif

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of cooperative learning strategies in developing students' social and academic skills in high schools in Padang City. Cooperative learning involves students working in small groups to achieve specific learning goals. The main characteristics of this strategy include direct face-to-face interaction, individual and group accountability, cooperation, social skills development, and group evaluation. The implementation of techniques such as Jigsaw, Think-Pair-Share, Group Investigation, and STAD shows significant improvements in students' social and academic skills. The study results indicate that cooperative learning not only enhances academic understanding but also enriches students' interpersonal skills, which are crucial for character and competence development in the future.

Conflict management at urban bus stops through cooperative trajectory planning

Conflicts due to frequent bus dwelling and entering/exiting maneuvers at bus stops have significantly undermined the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of the urban bus system. This paper proposes a cooperative trajectory planning strategy in a Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) environment for conflict management between buses and cars at bus stops. A dynamic multi-stage-based model along with solution algorithm is developed to search trajectories that eliminate the conflicts between cars and buses entering and leaving the bus stop in real time.The assessment of the proposed strategy is carried out at both the bus stop and corridor levels within a simulated environment. In-depth trajectory analyses during a typical weaving process at a bus stop reveal that the proposed strategy effectively eliminates bottlenecks and enhances operational performance across multiple approach lanes affected by the bus stop. A thorough evaluation involving multiple cycles of weaving among buses and vehicles at the bus stop reaffirms the strategy’s effectiveness under varying levels of bus occupancies, traffic demand, and bus stop locations. The case study at the corridor level illustrates that the proposed strategy successfully improves operational performance and bus schedule adherence across diverse scenarios, encompassing different roadway link lengths, traffic demands, bus headways and dwelling times, and bus stop locations. It notably excels in enhancing the performance of an urban corridor with longer link distances and near-side located bus stops, particularly under high traffic demand levels and shorter bus dwelling times.

Multiplayer Homicidal Chauffeur reach-avoid games: A pursuit enclosure function approach

This paper presents a multiplayer Homicidal Chauffeur reach-avoid differential game, which involves Dubins-car pursuers and simple-motion evaders. The goal of the pursuers is to cooperatively protect a planar convex region from the evaders, who strive to reach the region. We propose a cooperative strategy for the pursuers based on subgames for multiple pursuers against one evader and optimal task allocation. We introduce pursuit enclosure functions (PEFs) and propose a new enclosure region pursuit (ERP) winning approach that supports the forward analysis for the strategy synthesis in the subgames. We show that if a pursuit coalition is able to defend the region against an evader under the ERP winning, then no more than two pursuers in the coalition are necessarily needed. We also propose a steer-to-ERP approach to certify the ERP winning and synthesize the ERP winning strategy. To implement the strategy, we introduce a positional PEF and provide the necessary parameters, states, and strategies that ensure the ERP winning for both one pursuer and two pursuers against one evader. Additionally, we formulate a binary integer program using the subgame outcomes to maximize the captured evaders in the ERP winning for the pursuit task allocation. Finally, we propose a multiplayer receding-horizon strategy where the ERP winnings are checked in each horizon, the task is allocated, and the strategies of the pursuers are determined. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the results.

Optimal pursuit strategies for multi‐pursuer single‐evader games based on cooperative tracking

AbstractThis paper investigates a multi‐pursuer single‐evader nonzero‐sum differential game. Unlike traditional treatments, cooperative tracking is considered to design the optimal pursuit strategy by introducing a novel weighted topology and a scalar coupling gain. First, the distributed control strategy is designed based on the Hamilton–Jacobi–Isaacs (HJI) under the nonzero‐sum differential game. Then the modified LQR‐based cooperative tracking strategy is applied to achieve cooperativity among all the pursuers. The interception condition is also analyzed using a coupling gain based on the Laplacian matrix. Several illustrative examples under different scenarios are presented, and the results show that the pursuers with the proposed strategy can successfully intercept the evader.

The role of reputation to reduce punishment costs in spatial public goods game

In the traditional spatial public goods game (SPGG), punishment mechanisms are considered an effective strategy to promote cooperation. However, in traditional punishment models, the high cost of punishment leads to ineffective cooperation promotion when the synergy factor is low. Therefore, this paper decides to establish a punishment model based on reputation to reduce the cost of punishment, to solve the above problems. Cooperation strategy can accumulate reputation as evolution progresses, where the high-reputation punishing group, acting as the 'main force' of law enforcement, can obtain stronger expulsion capabilities by reducing costs, and the decrease in the revenue difference with ordinary cooperators brings stronger survivability. The research compares the new punishment mechanism with traditional punishment mechanisms, finding that under low synergy factors, the reputation-based punishment model is more likely to achieve cooperation, and after introducing the reputation mechanism, it significantly enhances the promotive effect of punishers on system cooperation.

The potential impact of EU’s carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM): an Australia-China relationship perspective

PurposeThis paper aims to investigate the multifaced aspects and consequences of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) from an Australia-China Relationship perspective.Design/methodology/approachThis paper leverages the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis to examine both the internal and external factors that affect Australia and China in the context of the CBAM. In addition, we employ the PEST (Political, Economic, Social and Technological) framework to identify effective strategies for Australia-China cooperation following the implementation of the CBAM.FindingsOur analysis reveals numerous mutual interests and opportunities for bilateral collaboration, despite challenges and threats, positioning the CBAM as a potentially significant catalyst for joint initiatives.Practical implicationsThis paper proposes 10 potential areas for Australia and China cooperation from the political economic social and technological PEST dimensions.Originality/valueThis paper makes a pioneering attempt to explore potential strategies, both individually, and together, that Australia and China can adopt to manage the impact and consequence of CBAM.

Optimization of heating temperature uniformity for multi-microwave source group based on dynamic switching topology

Aiming at the mutual coupling of multiple physical fields in the microwave heating process and the generation of thermal runaway phenomenon, in this paper, a cooperative variable power heating strategy with multi-microwave source clusters under dynamic switching topology is proposed in order to improve the temperature uniformity. Firstly, an algebraic graph theory is used to establish a communication topology for complete information transfer, which is used to construct a distributed structure among multiple microwave source intelligences. Secondly, the dynamic topology switching algorithm under event triggering is introduced, and the real-time temperature distribution of the heated materials is considered to achieve the dynamic switching of the topology connection mode between microwave source clusters in order to synchronously coordinate the power consistency output between different clusters. On this basis, a numerical calculation model is constructed to solve the mixed optimization of integer and continuum variables by means of the finite element method. Finally, the effectiveness of the heating strategy to improve temperature uniformity is verified by microwave heating SiC media simulation calculation. The numerical calculation results show that the temperature uniformity indexes are improved by 34.1%–50.4% and 28.1%–55.2% in each horizontal and vertical section for single materials, and by 59.1%–59.7% and 46.5%–63.4% in each horizontal and vertical section for multi-materials, respectively, in comparison with the general heating method. This strategy effectively avoids the residence of hot and cold spots in the material, which in turn optimizes the temperature distribution.

The Effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament Cooperative Learning Strategies in Qira'ah Jahriyah | faʿāliyat istikhdām istirātījiyyat al-taʿallum al-taʿāwunī binawʿ jawlāt ʾalʿāb al-farīq fī tadrīs al-qirāʾah al-jahriyyah

Learning strategies are one of the key components in the teaching and learning process. Numerous studies have stated that the Teams Games Tournament (TGT), which is a part of cooperative learning strategies, has proven effective in improving student learning outcomes. However, its application in teaching Qira'ah Jahriyah (reading aloud) has not been widely explored. Therefore, researchers conducted a study at MTs.S Pondok Pesantren Al-Muttaqin Balai Belo Agam to determine the effectiveness of the TGT strategy in learning Qira'ah Jahriyah. The research employed a quantitative approach with experimental methods and utilized a Quasi-Experimental Design with purposive sampling. The sample consisted of 8th-grade students divided into two classes. Data collection was conducted using tests, and data analysis was performed using the t-test in SPSS 22. In the experimental class, the minimum posttest score was 75 and the maximum was 95, with a mean of 83.21. In the control class, the minimum score was 60 and the maximum was 85, with a mean of 73.57. The results showed that the t-test, Sig (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant influence of the TGT cooperative learning strategy on the Qira'ah Jahriyah learning outcomes of 8th-grade students at MTs.S Al-Muttaqin Islamic Boarding School, Balai Belo Agam.

Cooperative attack strategy during the terminal guidance phase for loitering munitions based on impact angle and impact time constraints

In order to solve the cooperative attack problem during the terminal guidance phase for loitering munition swarm, a cooperative attack strategy for loitering munitions with impact angle constraints is proposed. By using the small deviation method, an offset proportional guidance law with impact angle constraints is derived in order to solve the problem of directional strike in the longitudinal plane. Combining with the present guidance scheme, a method for estimating the remaining time of proportional control and angle control is derived. In the lateral plane, a time control bias term with time-varying coefficients and no singularity in the division of zero is designed to solve the time control problem. In addition, taking the remaining time as the coordination variable, a two-layer cooperative architecture is used to solve the problem of coordinated directional strike of multiple loitering munitions. The simulation results show that the cooperative guidance strategy has a good performance of impact angle control and cooperative attack for low-speed loitering munitions.

Application of Smart Model in the Analysis of Opera Heritage Archiving and Protection

Objective: Opera Heritage in China is a rich and diverse cultural tradition passed down through generations. Today, Opera Heritage remains an essential part of Chinese culture and is celebrated through performances, festivals, and other cultural events. Efforts are being made to preserve and promote Opera Heritage through innovative technologies and approach such as digital archives, virtual reality, and community-based heritage management. Analysis: In this study, we suggested the SMART model that seeks to integrate these technologies and approaches into the preservation and promotion of Opera Heritage, ensuring that this rich cultural tradition can be enjoyed by future generations. We employed an ‘opera heritage’ using the Smart model in this study. In this research, "Smart Heritage" was defined as heritage experiences that used the word "Smart Heritage" or "similar terms" to describe the smart model. Findings: Opera Heritage analysis paid close attention to cutting-edge tools to record developments that showcase technical independence. Due to language barriers, this article could only interpret a clear convergence between SMART and opera heritage protection. For China's Opera Heritage to be properly archived and protected, a holistic and cooperative strategy that incorporates cutting-edge technologies and community-based heritage management practises are essential. Conclusion:Innovating technologies such as virtual reality and digital archives have been employed in efforts to promote and preserve China's rich Opera Heritage. How Others Matter in Children’s Socialization: The Huotang-Centered Allomothering System Among the Matrilineal Mosuo

Allomothering, the practice of child-rearing by caregivers other than childrens’ mothers, has garnered more attention recently. This study examined allomothering within the matrilineal Mosuo, an ethnic group in Southwestern China known for its nonmarital reproductive and dual-residence system, in which partners maintain separate residences, fostering cooperative multigenerational child-rearing. Still, specific parental interactions within the Mosuo have not been completely investigated. Using the grounded theory approach, we conducted two rounds of semi-structured interviews to explore Mosuo’s allomothering system and child socialization practices. Initial interviews (N = 19, M = 53.68) focused on child-rearing beliefs and family relationships. Subsequent interviews with caregivers (N = 17, M = 40.6) and children (N = 19, M = 15.7) delved into detailed intergenerational parental interactions. Our findings show that grandmothers primarily handled children’s daily care, with mothers and sisters dividing responsibilities for financial provisions and co-caregiving. Mothers tended to enforce discipline, and aunts provided nurturing attention. A female-led “Huotang-focused” allomothering system is prevalent, where “Huotang” signifies the communal hearth, central to family interactions. Maternal uncles, while not directly involved in care, oversaw moral and behavioral guidance and assumed economic obligations. Fathers, exhibiting less authority than maternal uncles, predominantly engaged in rough-and-tumble play, marking their interactions with their children by distinctive friend-like characteristics. Children’s socialization reflected legitimate peripheral participation, with the children observing and modeling their maternal caregivers’ behaviors and beliefs. Mosuo’s allomothering interactions offer fresh insights into cooperative strategies and prompt a reconsideration of traditional parental roles in child socialization.

POST-SOVIET ASIAN POLICY: RUSSIAN DIPLOMATIC ACTIVITY IN CHINA AND INDIA (1991–1999)

This article is an attempt to revisit the Asian policy of the Russian Federation in the Post-Cold War era. More specifically, the aim of this article is to determine the origins of Moscow’s current strategic alliances with China and India in a historical trajectory from 1991 to 1999. To this end, the article focused on Russian diplomatic activities, state visits, cooperation strategies and signed agreements within this timeframe. Then, in the context of these diplomatic efforts, the article discussed how the priorities of each government could affect these initiatives with a focus on their national concerns, geopolitical imperatives and global strategies. Following these discussions, the article concluded that a revival of global status was at the heart of Russia’s Asian diplomacy. Moreover, it was concluded that while foreign relations with China and India had emerged from two different historical processes, the common interests and imperatives that were mutually perceived by these states were crucial in reaching strategic agreements and shaping post-Soviet alliances.

Enhancing uplink NOMA cooperative networks with RIS-UAV assistance in Nakagami-[formula omitted] fading channels

Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) emerges as a novel communication technology for the 6G networks, boasting advantages such as low cost, high energy efficiency, and wide coverage. To enhance spectrum utilization and ensure signal transmission stability in complex communication scenarios, this paper presents an uplink cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) transmission network assisted by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) equipped with RIS. Firstly, a direct link is established between near users and the base station, while a decode-and-forward (DF) relay R and RIS-UAV are deployed between far users and the base station to achieve reliable transmission in a dynamic environment through joint NOMA. Furthermore, an incremental cooperative NOMA scheme is proposed for the uplink transmission, where the relay R remains silent if the RIS-UAV successfully transmits the signal of distant users; if the RIS-UAV fails to transmit the signal to the base station, the relay R is activated to complete the communication between distant users and the base station. Then, the base station employs a selection combining (SC) scheme to process the received signals. Finally, exact expressions of the outage probability under various power allocation strategies are derived. The research results indicate that the outage performance improves with an increase in the number of RIS reflection elements. Moreover, the presence of RIS-UAV can reduce the impact of power allocation strategies on the performance of the uplink NOMA network compared to networks without RIS-UAV.

Enhancing Financial Security in the Digital Age: Mitigating Risks of Virtual Currencies Through Regulation and Institutional Mechanisms

Abstract The swift rise of virtual currencies (VCs) as financial instruments has raised concerns about their ability to increase risks in the global financial system, especially given the current geopolitical instability. This article examines the connection between virtual currencies and financial security, highlighting the importance of strong economic and financial institutions and mechanisms to ensure the reliability of digital assets. We investigate through an extensive literature analysis the various risks linked to VCs, including market volatility, regulatory inconsistencies, and security vulnerabilities, which are exacerbated by geopolitical conflicts. We then examine how institutions have responded to these concerns, focusing on the proactive actions taken by international organizations and national authorities to reduce possible disruptions. The focus of our paper is the Markets in Cryptoassets (MiCA) law, an innovative legislative framework created by the European Union to standardize VC regulation among member states. We analyse the goals and main provisions of MiCA to evaluate its ability to establish an international benchmark for overseeing virtual currencies, ultimately improving investor safety and market integrity. The paper concludes by discussing the changing role of VCs in the geopolitical sphere and supports flexible and cooperative regulatory strategies to balance the advancement of digital assets with financial security needs.

Attempts to Unravel and to Overcome The Educational Issues of Nahwu (A Multi-Site Descriptive Study at UINSI Samarinda and UNSIQ Wonosobo)

Nahwu is an integral part of the curriculum in teaching Arabic in all Islamic educational institutions in the world, either in the form of a separate subject or part of the study of the Arabic language. But when studying it, he found some problems, whether linguistic or non-linguistic, that needed ways to be overcome. Therefore, this research aims to describe and analyze the problems related to teaching science and their solutions. This research is a qualitative research and descriptive multiplicity of sites in Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris Islamic State University Samarinda and the Central Java Quranic Sciences University in Wonosobo in the Department of Arabic Language Teaching, and the research sample of intermediate students in the proficiency of the Arabic language sitting in the fourth level in the subject about 2 and the subject towards developmental. The sources of data in this research are interviews, observation, and documentation, and the data is analyzed using the data analysis method of Miles and Huberman. The results of the research indicate that there are linguistic and non-linguistic problems, and the problems revolve around vocabulary, lack of exercise, short lecture hours, lack of motivation and awareness, lack of diversity of strategies, educational facilities, and students' academic backgrounds. Solutions to these problems are: creating educational programs to memorize vocabulary; improving communication; reviewing the curriculum; directing efforts towards enhancing motivation and awareness; adopting cooperative learning strategies; providing materials using the concept of mind maps or tables; staying on key points identified; providing additional lessons; and improving classroom facilities.

Evolution of reciprocity with limited payoff memory.

Direct reciprocity is a mechanism for the evolution of cooperation in repeated social interactions. According to the literature, individuals naturally learn to adopt conditionally cooperative strategies if they have multiple encounters with their partner. Corresponding models have greatly facilitated our understanding of cooperation, yet they often make strong assumptions on how individuals remember and process payoff information. For example, when strategies are updated through social learning, it is commonly assumed that individuals compare their average payoffs. This would require them to compute (or remember) their payoffs against everyone else in the population. To understand how more realistic constraints influence direct reciprocity, we consider the evolution of conditional behaviours when individuals learn based on more recent experiences. Even in the most extreme case that they only take into account their very last interaction, we find that cooperation can still evolve. However, such individuals adopt less generous strategies, and they cooperate less often than in the classical setup with average payoffs. Interestingly, once individuals remember the payoffs of two or three recent interactions, cooperation rates quickly approach the classical limit. These findings contribute to a literature that explores which kind of cognitive capabilities are required for reciprocal cooperation. While our results suggest that some rudimentary form of payoff memory is necessary, it suffices to remember a few interactions.

Estimating built-up area carbon emissions through addressing regional development disparities with population and nighttime light data

Carbon emission inventories in urban built-up areas are critical for formulating effective emission reduction policies. Nighttime light data, reflecting socioeconomic activities, is routinely used as a proxy for estimating emissions. However, the reliability of this proxy is limited in areas with minimal or absent lighting and demonstrates variability according to the urban development. To address these limitations, a novel approach was developed. Firstly, it enhances the representation of human activities under different light values through integrating light values and population distributions into multidimensional proxy features. Secondly, cities with different socio-economic development were clustered to minimize the development disparities within the same cluster. Four clusters were detected including ‘Agriculture-dependent & Low-density’, ‘Agriculture-dependent & High-density’, ‘Industry-oriented’, and ‘Tertiary-oriented’. Then A multilayer perceptron regressor, refined with a moving average method, was employed to model the nonlinear relationships between emissions and these proxy features. The results show a significant increase in modeling accuracy when regional development disparities are incorporated through this clustering strategy. Additionally, the Shapley Additive Explanatory method was utilized to analyze the influence of regional development heterogeneity on the estimation model. It demonstrated that areas with high light intensity and population significantly influence emission estimates in all clusters, except for the ‘Industry-oriented cluster’. This finding underscores the varying effectiveness of proxy features across different regions, emphasizing the importance of considering regional development disparities. Finally, based on the estimated inventory obtained, spatio-temporal hot spot detection pinpointed eastern and central China as significant emission hot spots. This research not only enhances the data resources for managing carbon emissions but also underscores the need for inter-city cooperation strategies to achieve China's carbon reduction targets.

Integrative Digital Governance: The Role of Public Administration in Promoting Sustainable Development amid Post-Pandemic Technological Innovations

Abstract Our study intends to find out how integrative digital governance in public administration can support sustainable development. The Covid-19 pandemic’s effects and current technology developments presented the chance. Mainly qualitative analysis, which included case study analysis and a review of the specialized literature, made up the research approach. Using this approach, we want to find potential approaches to include digital transformation into public administration. Our initial assumption was that the digitalization of public administration might make it easier to accomplish goals related to global development. Based on the findings of our study, we can declare that digitisation of public administration has a great potential to boost effectiveness, openness and civic engagement. Technologies would make participation easier and guarantee equal access for all citizens. All the same, our study emphasizes how complicated digitalization is. This covers the possible hazards connected to digital technology included into systems of public administration. We underline as recommendations the need of implementing a cooperation strategy that includes several activity sectors and degrees of digital governance. Our study has certain limitations mostly because we chose a limited number of case studies. This reality, we think, may affect the general applicability of the obtained results. We advise considering these restrictions in case our study is replicated. Furthermore, we think that the rate at which technology is developing now calls for a constant assessment of the outcomes that are attained by incorporating post-pandemic technological advancements into digital governance. Our study adds value by advancing our understanding of sustainable development in the digital era and by drawing attention to the challenges public administration has in embracing and leveraging digital developments.

Implementing Cooperative Learning To Enhsnce Students’ Interest In Reading Skill

The aim of this study was to investigate how the implementation of cooperative learning strategies, particularly Numbered Heads Together (NHT), can enhance students' interest in reading comprehension. Classroom Action Research was employed as the research design, with data collection tools consisting of questionnaires and observations. The study focused on students from class VIII A at MTS Nurul Islam Sekarbela. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches were used for data analysis. The research comprised two cycles of Classroom Action Research involving 27 students. The findings revealed an improvement from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I, four students achieved a very high percentage score, while 20 students attained a high percentage score and three students scored in the medium category. The results of cycle II were higher than those of cycle I. Based on the data, the research was deemed successful as it met the success criteria of achieving a minimum interest level of 61% in the high percentage category for students' comprehension. Observations indicated an improvement in the classroom environment, with students demonstrating increased interest, attentiveness to the teacher, enjoyment, and greater participation in learning activities. This suggests that cooperative learning strategies can indeed enhance students' interest in reading comprehension.
