Digital technologies in music education − The prospects of interactive course development in primary school music education

Within the framework of the 'Education Innovation - Modernisation of the training structure, methods and content in higher education, enhancement of its labour market relevance', we conducted a course material development project for the length of two terms at the Institute of Education and Social Sciences, Apáczai Csere János Faculty of Humanities, Széchenyi István University. We devised course material to be applied in e-learning and in a place-based studying environment (VR course material). The aim of the project was to create support material that assists teacher candidates in processing and acquiring the material of primary school music education. Its necessity and timeliness are justified by the insufficient level of music skills of newly admitted teacher candidates. The present paper is intended to display a summary and short-term evaluation of the project.

The role and criteria of public financing of higher education

This article considers the process of public funding of higher education with the account of international experience. Theoretically, the content of higher education is considered. Public and personal benefits in higher education determine it as a quasipublic good. World practice testifies to state financing of higher education. In the countries of the world, the state fully or partially finances higher education. The determining factor in human capital is higher education. State grants for higher education are in the form of vouchers and are applied on the principle of "money followed by the student." But there is a peculiarity of the implementation of the principle, which consists in securing the state educational grant to the institution of higher education chosen by the еnrollee. At the same time, social risks and burdens including psychological, stressful on enrollee were identified that necessitate a “reset” of the State Grants Program and the education system as a whole after COVID 19. In education, the necessity of changing the course from memorizing academic knowledge to the logic of thinking, acquiring professional competencies. Relatively low results of participation of Kazakhstanis in international comparative studies PISA, PIAAC, ICILS are presented. The relatively low level of education of Kazakhstani youth is systemic in nature. State funding of higher education is primarily desirable for secondary school graduates from low-income families.

MISMATCH BETWEEN EDUCATION AND LABOR MARKET DEMAND (CASE OF TRADE AND RELATED FIELDS)

Introduction. The mismatch between the needs of the labor market and the education and skill structure of the labor force is a well-recognized urgent problem that is inherent not only in the economy of Ukraine. The current economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic inevitably exacerbates existing imbalances. Methods. The study used methods of analysis and systematization (to determine the basic requirements for potential employees); and methods of synthesis and generalization (to formulate the conclusions of the study). Results. The paper analyzes the job descriptions posted on the job search site Work.ua in the categories: sales and procurement, service, logistics, retail, and marketing. The choice of these categories was determined by their popularity and prevalence in the sphere of trade. The analysis of the requirements shows that the experience of applicants is valued much more than their educational attainment. Meanwhile, the requirements for potential employees contain a wide range of hard and soft skills, the provision of which is the content of higher education, in particular the competency-based approach, but this is not specified in the requirement for a diploma. The task of education, along with a prompt response to development trends (so-called "Amazon effect") remains to fill the learning process with real content. Discussion. Further research should consider not only the existing requirements of the modern labor market, to which education should be adjusted, but combine the objectives of education with the structural reorganization of the domestic economy, which is designed to increase the demand for human capital. Producing Digital Learning Resources (DLR) for Teacher Training

The purpose of this article is to describe the development and design process of an educational app for teacher training. Online teaching and learning resources are used more than ever in teacher training. However, the utilization of digital technology in higher education shows unambiguously that very little has been transformed or improved so far (Selwyn, 2014: 109). Regarding teacher education specifically; the slow uptake of ICT is also documented (Tomte, 2015: 151). Using a design-based research methodology, the researchers were involved in planning, designing and developing new resources for new practices in flexible teacher-training studies. Through three iterative cycles, the main aim in this article is to describe aspects in the process of designing DLR for the hybridization of teacher training. The findings suggest several aspects of the design process that we believe can enhance teacher trainers and development of digital learning content in higher education.

LABOUR MARKET REQUIREMENTS FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGE EDUCATION WITH A FOCUS ON SPANISH

The paper focuses on education in the field of foreign languages, particularly Spanish, in the framework of university study of economic and managerial orientation in Slovakia in order to find out what the labour market requirements are for graduates in the field of foreign language skills. In our research, we focus on Spanish, as no similar relevant research has been done to date in this foreign language. Current research shows that the graduates of economics and management fields lack the link between the content of education and the requirements of the labour market, as well as preparation in the field of foreign language skills. This calls for a better understanding of the real needs of employers and graduates. This paper is based on a questionnaire survey among potential employers of graduates of the University of Economics in Bratislava who require foreign language skills, mainly Spanish, as well as of graduates of the University of Economics in Bratislava who use foreign languages, in particular Spanish in their employment. The paper provides an overview of the specific language competencies and knowledge that are needed in the labour market. The ambition of research is to contribute to improving the link between higher education content and the real needs of the labour market, and thus to boosting the employability of graduates in the labour market.

Philosophy of Education: Cosmism in the System of Philosophical Knowledge

In this article, the attention is concentrated exactly on cosmism and its variations, and also on its role and place in the system of philosophical knowledge which is proposed to be studied in the establishments of higher education. The questions for discussion about the role and place of cosmism in the content of higher education are put forward: Is it necessary for students to study cosmism? Should this knowledge be given in courses? How should it be given for apprehension? Philosophical knowledge is stated to be used as an instrument to form worldview orientations of the future man being able to secure the survival of civilization and mankind. Firstly, the ideas of cosmism help regard the human being as a component of the Cosmos, determine his role and place in the evolutionary processes of the Universe, discover the influence of cosmic forces upon him and the human civilization. Secondly, the ideas of cosmism in the structure of philosophical knowledge carry out humanistic and cultural functions: they complete building the world picture (as scientific, as universal) in the student’s consciousness.

La interculturalidad como contenido transversal en la educación universitaria peruana. Notas reflexivas

Interculturality as an educational approach is included in the guidelines of the Peruvian educational system (General Education Law 28044 and National Curriculum of Basic Education); however, in the curricular structures of national and private universities, it is ignored, generating a gap between regular basic education and higher education. This reality leads us to reflect on the need to incorporate interculturality as a transversal content in higher education, reflections that emerge from the context of the Puno region, where according to the information of the censuses of 2017, most of its population is self-identified with an original town and where at least half of the students in higher education come from homes of quechua or aimara origin. The challenge that arises is to build a university with the quality standards that the international academy demands, without distancing us from our academy demands, without distancing us from the surrounding multicultural reality.

Coworking As Innovative Educational Content in Modern Higher Education

The definition of “coworking” is just beginning to enter the orbit of Russian and foreign scientific research. Coworking spaces as innovative educational content in higher education are being created in Russian universities. The purpose of the study is the justification, development, and testing of a model of electronic coworking environment in the system of higher pedagogical education. At that, coworking environment is considered as an educational virtual cluster at which a basic platform for educational content is created with all educational products attached to it. The following methods of research were used to solve the tasks: design and modeling; the study of coworking environment products, chat conversations, questionnaires; and mathematical methods of result processing (quantitative and qualitative analysis of research results). The results of the study have revealed the advantages of coworking environment: successful socialization, minimization of time and economic resources, expansion of business partnerships, mutual assistance and a comfortable atmosphere. Analysis of studies on the criterion of coworking productivity revealed an increase in student mobility and an increase in the index satisfaction and communication effectiveness. Testing of the electronic coworking model proves its benefits and prospects of its introduction into the system of higher pedagogical education. The results can be used in social psychology, pedagogy, and practice.

Globalisation influence on higher education in Kazakhstan and Russia (on the example of Engineering University)

Globalisation is a controversial issue in education in terms of its positive or negative impact. The given article presents the review of the existing literature with regard to the benefits that globalization brought to Kazakhstani and Russian higher education and some concerns arose. The authors of the article analyze such educational phenomena pluses as university autonomy, academic mobility, university rankings and English language proliferation. Substantial modernization of higher education content in accordance with the requirements of society and the state to the specialists’ education level, including foreign languages is necessary in the conditions of the economic, socio-political and social relations transformation. The revision of traditional paradigm in the general system of higher education is due to the objective need of society for an individual, aware and practically realizing his vocation and purpose in various types and international practice arising. Regarding the concerns that accompany the process of globalisation of higher education in Kazakhstan and Russia, the article considers and refutes the issues that come from the popularity of English language, the probability of colonization of Kazakhstani culture and brain drain.

Critical Content for Teacher Education

This autoethnographic study explores our experiences as postsecondary researcher-educators with a particular focus on our team teaching experience in a teacher education course at Western Vancouver University, located in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia (BC), Canada. We have introduced a case study of a Japanese temporary resident family with a toddler to our teacher candidates of BC. This case study was based on an interdisciplinary analytical lens: educational sociolinguistics and clinical psychology, which examined the case of the child having been diagnosed with mild autism in the BC’s medical system. The authors introduced this multicultural pedagogical content in higher education in order to cultivate critically internationalized analytical lenses of the teacher candidates. Our critical analysis of this clinical case suggested more than what the medical diagnosis had claimed. This contribution aims to 1) problematize the lack of societal awareness and the legitimacy of such scholarly inquiries, and 2) explore what impacts such critical multicultural contents may bring to teacher education in our multilingual and multicultural society.

Study of Implementation of State Requirements to College Students’ Professional Training in Choreography

The relevance of this research is associated with higher education institutions’ transitioning to new educational standards, FGOS 3++, based on professional standards’ requirements to the level of professional learning, since it requires comprehending the role of the state in regulating the content of higher education. The paper focuses on the issues of implementing federal educational standards’ requirements to choreography education. Research methods used to study this problem were as follows: analysis of academic papers and FGOS 3++ requirements to graduates’ skills and surveying students of higher education institutions on the prospects of their future employment. Students were offered a questionnaire and asked to rank the types of professional activity they found promising, considered to be fulfillment opportunities and planned to build their professional career in, on a scale of 1 to 10. The methodology analysis of literature and learning regulation documentation revealed problematic issues connected with graduates’ qualification, content of education and technologies at higher education institutions providing vocational training in choreography art. Students’ survey identified the most attractive types of professional activity that it would make sense to include in curricula, at least at the level of optional courses or electives. Creating conditions for graduates’ professional fulfillment in various activities will not only expand their vocational training but also create conditions for shaping the individual paths of students’ learning. Conclusions and recommendations concerning shaping of educational programs of vocational training in choreography possess practical significance.

Моделирование содержания химической подготовки будущих врачей на основе компетентностного подхода

The problem of modeling the content of the chemical training of medical doctors is not new, but it is still urgent. Currently, having the properties of scale, fundamentality, interdisciplinarity, focus on the practice of learning, it is becoming one of the key problems of modern chemical education. The study of the problem of modeling the content of higher education is not so much in the plane of subject didactics as it has reached the state level. So, at the State Council Meeting [14] the task was set to “develop a set of measures aimed at systematically updating the content of education taking into account modern achievements of science and technology, changing students’ needs and society, focusing on the application of knowledge and skills in real life situations”. Our pedagogical experience shows that it is advisable to build promising models for the content of the chemical training of future doctors on the basis of the competence-based approach, guided by the principles of fundamentality, integrativeness, professional orientation, and rational minimization. Knowledge “sewn up” in context is necessary for students to understand the chemical nature of the processes occurring in the human body; close connection of chemistry with medicine, ecology; contribute to the formation of universal, professional, and in some cases professional competencies.

Современные педагогические подходы в инженерном образовании

Forming basic professional competences of future engineers in an institution of higher education requires a reconsideration of the content of higher education in the areas of transition towards the result-oriented education. Qualitative characteristics of engineering education today require improvement. Adequacy of the engineering education level to the economic, scientific, technological, social and cultural development of society, in spite of many efforts, remains in many aspects an unresolved problem. The article discusses ways to solve this problem.

Humanitarian framework of modern pedagogical education in Russia

The goal of the paper is to review and classify current trends and outcomes of modern pedagogical education in Russia on the back of humanitarization of higher education as well as to justify principles of humanitarization of higher education content. The relevance of this subject stems from current shifts of socio-economic environment in Russia, which have brought new humanitarian paradigms to the forefront. The authors examine pedagogical process as a humanitarian phenomenon pursuing the aim to specify the goals and objectives of modern pedagogical education. The article highlights current demand to develop and promote pedagogical tools of humanitarian training as a model based on cultural practices which consequently implies structuring of the education content and process according to a person’s nature, mind and spirit, contributing to the integrity of a human’s inner world and the development of a whole person.

INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO THE FORMATION OF PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCES OF FUTURE FINE ARTS TEACHERS IN THE PROCESS OF SELF-DIRECTED WORK DURING EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES

The article considers the expediency and necessity of attracting of students’ self-directed work to the practice of the future art teacher training in order to form pedagogical competencies, innovative approaches to the organization of self-directed study, namely: stimulation of students' interest in self-improvement, humanistic orientation of innovative processes. The expediency of involving the self-directed work into the practice of higher educational establishment is regulated by higher education official documents; the specifics of the organization of the educational process in higher educational institutions; the need to teach students to work independently on the research of scientific problems, to acquire skills in order to attract knowledge, skills and abilities in their further professional activities, and in other areas of life. The current state of the level of research of the problem is characterized: scientific investigations are connected with the current state of implementation of self-directed work in the responsibilities of higher educational establishments. Based on the analysis of scientific publications, the factors contributing to the effectiveness of students' self-directed work are the following: the components of self-directed work, the forms of self-directed work organization, the peculiarities of self-directed management, innovative forms of fine art future teachers’ professional competence, pedagogical conditions of the efficiency of self-directed work of students, content of higher education. The peculiarities of students self-directed activities has been analyzed to specific work programs developed for students of specialty 014.12 Secondary education (Fine Arts). The effectiveness of the development of student self-directed work during the plenary and pedagogical practice is provided by: student activity and creativity of in the realization of self-directed tasks on education courses; clearly set out the tasks of self-directed work taking into account the level of training and objectives of each training course; systematic control by the head of practice (current and final), his mentoring role.

Out-look on the development of Russian education in the context of world trends

Abstract The article discusses the state of Russian education system of future. It is noted that for the effective change of educational process organization, for the increase of modern students’ motivation, it is necessary to reconsider the methods, technologies and the content of higher education, taking global world trends into account. In order to study the out–look on the development of higher education, the following world trends were identified: remote technologies and digital educational resources; creation of digital universities’ models and certification centres for external independent assessment of professional qualifications; introduction of general language for teaching in the system of higher education; organization of training via interactive lectures of the best teachers of the world; introduction of playing and electronic simulators into educational process. However, the attitude to the issues of digitalization of domestic education is debatable in pedagogical circles, dividing the audience into supporters and opponents of this phenomenon, as far as digitalization causes not only a significant change in the appearance of modern education, but digital technologies are aimed at the change of the nature of a person bodily and spiritually. The latest technologies are used for this very purpose, among which are NBIC-technologies – nano, bio, information and cognitive ones. Digital educational space should not do any harm to a person. So, all the participants of this global project, both developers and experts, must take into account the negative consequences of the impact of digital technology on humans. They should not make them the means of destroying domestic education, its culture and morality. If digital technologies are put at the service of a person, Russian higher schools will be really modernized, as well as, medical education in general.

SUBJECT-CENTRED CONTENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION AS A FACTOR IN THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF A SPECIALIST

Introduction. Nowadays, extensive processes of globalization, informatization and virtualization have captured all spheres of modern life. These processes require the transition from the traditional knowledge-reproductive training of specialists to the activity focused model in higher school. To implement such a transition, it is necessary to reconsider the organization and methods for student knowledge acquisition of the content of educational programs. The transition has to be centred on the subject of development and knowledge.The aimof the paper is to discuss methodological aspects related to the construction of subject-centred content of higher education and to show its pedagogical capabilities.Methodology and research methods. The methodological framework of the study is performed with the involvement of the regulators of human cognitivetransformational activity, based on the post-non-classical paradigm of cognition; the key principles of the competency-based, activity and personal-centred approaches to training. Theoretical, discursive types of the analysis, content analysis, modelling of pedagogical systems and processes were used to design a conceptual plan of the research and develop its empirical base. Methods of the comparative analysis, synthesis and generalization of practical experience were applied at the stage of an experiment; the hypertext training program was applied during approbation of the developed model for training content.Results and scientific novelty.The essence of the subject-centred approach to designing the content of the higher education was summarized. It is noted that a cognitive component of vocational training is transformed to semantic reality by means of the subject-centred approach. The key concepts of “subject”, “subjectivity” and “subject experience” were clarified from the didactic point of view. The research demonstrates the fundamental difference of the content of a new type from its traditional model where it is considered as an object of acquisition, and from the understanding of the content in the activity concept which provides a way (principle) of activity as its elementary unit. A basic unit of the subjectcentred content of the vocational training is the information resource to be transformed by the subject of the education (a student) to personal knowledge through the following this occupation. The student is a self-conscious member of the information and communication process. Based on the subject and author's representations and estimations which provide constructive interaction with the dynamically changing environment, a future expert generates information relying on wellknown knowledge and learns to apply it in a concrete context, getting social, cultural and professional experience. In this regard, a teacher is not an educational content carrier, but a network of hypermedia texts with architectonic-structural points (information hubs) of axiological knowledge. The role of the teacher consists not in formal transfer of the factual material, but assistance with student independent designing and realization of productive capabilities of students. The two-tiered structure of information resource was described. This structure is caused by the unity of the principles of fundamental nature and professional orientation. The script model of the student experience is schematically shown; the logic of training has to comply with the model outlined. The model of subject-centred content of education demonstrating its procedural character and activity form is presented.Practical significance. The author has proposed a new system organization of the content of higher education using the possibilities of hypertext systems. The proposed system can become the basis for the self-development of future professionals, their mobility in the labour market and the maximum self-realization in the chosen sphere of employment.

Self-organization of Transversal Self in the Context of Uncertainty (to the Explication of Transformative Learning). Part 1

The problem of self-organization of self in the context of uncertainty arises in connection with the development of projects and programs of transformational education for adults, the need of which is due to the deep processes of global transformations in the modern world.
 Transformative strategies and programs for the development of the content of higher education, outlined in the list of key educational competencies for the 21st century by international organizations (EU, UNESCO) are associated with the processes of becoming and transformation of individuals as integral subjects of cognition and action within the framework of communicative strategies for the formation of a global civil society.
 The development and implementation of transformative higher education strategies in a content aspect requires transdisciplinary research methodologies for adult learning aimed at developing a “holistic person” and his self as a source of creative development.
 The first part of the article is devoted to the analysis of the evolution of views on self in the metaphysical tradition, which was mainly concentrated around the binary-opposition systems of argumentation, presented, on the one hand, by the Cartesian philosophy of self as substances, on the other - the Hume's vision of self as a bundle of perceptions. The dynamics of the argumentation of these metaphysical contrapositions, which immanently contain both the centrifugal intentions of discourse, and are mutually attractive, is considered. The substantive theses of these philosophies, which marked the development and branching of the general tendencies in the study of self and which can serve as a methodological complementary ground in our efforts to overcome binarism in the study of self in the context of post-metaphysical queries, are analyzed. The relevance of transversal self in the context of uncertainty as a process-dialogic unity of differences in the liminal space at the global and individual levels is determined.

Hermeneutic Methodology of Higher Education Content Integration

Introduction: the methods of content integration of higher education play an important role during intensification of integration processes in the post-industrial society. Universal methodology and methods of content integration of higher education are underdeveloped and coupled with insufficient level of preparedness of graduates of higher educational institutions to solve complex professional tasks. This challenge determines the timeliness of this study. The aim of the article is to substantiate the general methodology and principles of integrating the content of higher education in the context o f a competence-based approach. Materials and Methods: integration, cognitive, hermeneutical and competence-based approaches, analytical- synthetic methods, comparative analysis and sociological methods were used during the study. In addition, the author used recitation, written testing and the original method of self-diagnostics of students’ cultural assets.Results: in summary, a knowledge integrator and a cognition integrator are defined; the structure of integrated rational content of integrated knowledge in education is revealed; universal hermeneutic methodological standard of integration knowledge in education is substantiated and introduced in practice; principles of adequacy of the integration of the content of education are formulated, new requirements to the structure of competencies of a graduate in integrated educational content are identified. Discussions and Conclusions: the scientific novelty and theoretical significance of the article lies in the author’s substantiation of the hermeneutic concept of integrating the content of higher education, as well as in integrating the hermeneutic approach with cognitive and competence-based approaches to the content of higher education. The author concluded that the condition for the successful integration of educational content is the hermeneutical methodology: the principles and methodology for its implementation.
