Employee performance and their success are not just dependent on their educational qualification, experience and academic knowledge. Today we need employees who can manage the adverse situations, communicate and convenience the surrounding in a better way for that they need Emotional Intelligence (EI). It implies the potentiality to recognise one’s own and others emotions, oversee and motivate them in the correct way. This particular study included 300 employees of Private Insurance sector. Investigators have prepared EI tool having nine contributory factors. The research intention behind the study was to standardise the Emotional Intelligence tool by ensuring its reliability and validity of it. Reliability test was conducted using Cronbach’s alpha for constructs of emotional intelligence and results showed 0.81 and in composite reliability, all the factors of EI such as self-control, trustworthiness, conflict handling, adaptability, self-confidence, creativity, emotional awareness, conscientiousness and empathy was found to be more than 0.7. The tool was validated by using construct and content validity, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis.
