Cybersecurity activities for education and curriculum design: A survey

Cyber threats are one of the main concerns in this growing technology epoch. To tackle this issue, highly skilled and motivated cybersecurity professionals are increasingly in demand to prevent, detect, respond to, or even mitigate the effects of such threats. However, the world faces a workforce shortage of qualified cybersecurity professionals and practitioners. To address this dilemma, several cybersecurity educational programs have been introduced, such as specialized cybersecurity courses in computer science graduate programs. With the increasing demand, different cybersecurity courses are introduced at the high school level, undergraduate computer science and information systems programs, and even at the government level. Due to the peculiar nature of cybersecurity, educational institutions face many issues when designing a curriculum or cybersecurity activities. In this paper, we study existing cybersecurity curriculum approaches and activities. We also present case studies on cybersecurity education around the globe.

Intensity of nursing work in a primary healthcare center: an observational study

ObjectivesIn the sphere of occupational intensity, nursing stands recognized for its inherently demanding nature, marked by a rapid succession of tasks. Our primary aim was to assess the level of job intensity within nursing by analyzing the frequency and duration of activities performed by nurses, instances of task overlap, and the distribution of break times within a primary healthcare center. MethodsThis study was conducted using a descriptive working method. Nursing activities were recorded with the observation of six nurses, each monitored for 37.5 hours. We used the Maribor System for measuring Quantity in Nursing Care in Primary Health Care Settings to measure the nursing care activities about direct patient care, indirect patient care, and other unproductive aspects through direct non-participant observations. ResultsAbout 41.5% (n = 1,640) of all nursing activities involving direct contact with patients, about 38.2% (n = 1,508) was indirect patient care, where a large amount worked with paper files (n = 666, 16.9%). In addition, about 15.0% were other nursing activities (mostly computer work), and just 5.3% (n = 210) of tasks were unproductive. The observational findings indicate a pronounced level of work intensity experienced by nurses in primary health clinics. Significantly, nurses were predominantly engaged in direct patient care tasks, often managing multiple activities simultaneously. Their transitions between tasks occurred approximately every three minutes, frequently without adequate intervals for breaks. ConclusionsThis study highlights the need to shift nurses’ focus from a task-centric approach to one centered on patient care. The prevailing emphasis on tasks may contribute to enduring fatigue and professional dissatisfaction. Consequently, there is an urgent need to redefine the scope of a nurse’s role and implement a comprehensive computer information system as an integral part of this redefined approach.

Analyze, monitoring and testing of computer information systems

The high importance and criticality of the efficiency and reliability of the functioning of modern computer information systems require efforts to ensure them, which are no less, than the efforts to develop the systems themselves. Offline and online monitoring and testing of computer information systems, which are often used to ensure efficiency and reliability of functioning, involve the development and implementation of appropriate hardware, software and information tools, as part of automated technical diagnostic systems. Features of both the computer information systems themselves and the means of monitoring and testing are their network distribution, autonomy and at the same time cooperation of all their components. Such features appear already in the system-functional presented systems and impose requirements for a special analysis of all their properties and functions, in that case also energy ones. The proposed work is focused on the implementation of energy-behavioral monitoring and testing of computer information systems, defines a formal presentation of a special analysis of the relevant hardware and software tools and is based on asynchronous-event models of extended Petri nets and behavioral experiments. This representation is based on models of energy-behavioral specification and testing, parallel, associative-evolutionary methods of monitoring and testing with the accumulation of blanks and results that differ in special features. The proposed presentation makes it possible to create a new system energy-behavioral technology for monitoring and testing computer information systems.

Addressing staffing challenges through improved planning: Demand-driven course schedule planning and instructor assignment in higher education

This paper presents a novel decision support system (DSS) to address the University Course Timetabling Problem (UCTP). The solution decomposes the NP-complete UCTP into two sub-problems, allowing a structured approach to addressing the complexities inherent in the UCTP process. A mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model is proposed to integrate academic year course schedule planning and instructor assignment, accommodating various constraints to meet student demands. The model optimizes the number of course sections and strategically schedules instructors, aiming to reduce the number of new and distinct courses assigned to them. Historical data from an academic department encompassing multiple disciplines, including Computer Information Systems, Business Management, and Business Analytics, at a large public university in the U.S. is used to develop the model, and the results are compared with the actual course schedule and instructor assignment. The results demonstrate that the proposed DSS would result in a 14 % reduction in the number of course sections offered, translating to approximately $130,000 in annual savings. Additionally, it could significantly reduce the number of new courses assigned to instructors by up to 81 % and the number of distinct course sections assigned to them by 29 %.

Identification of digital device hardware vulnerabilities based on scanning systems and semi-natural modeling

Objectives. The development of computer technology and information systems requires the consideration of issues of their security, various methods for detecting hardware vulnerabilities of digital device components, as well as protection against unauthorized access. An important aspect of this problem is to study existing methods for the possibility and ability to identify hardware errors or search for errors on the corresponding models. The aim of this work is to develop approaches, tools and technology for detecting vulnerabilities in hardware at an early design stage, and to create a methodology for their detection and risk assessment, leading to recommendations for ensuring security at all stages of the computer systems development process.Methods. Methods of semi-natural modeling, comparison and identification of hardware vulnerabilities, and stress testing to identify vulnerabilities were used.Results. Methods are proposed for detecting and protecting against hardware vulnerabilities: a critical aspect in ensuring the security of computer systems. In order to detect vulnerabilities in hardware, methods of port scanning, analysis of communication protocols and device diagnostics are used. The possible locations of hardware vulnerabilities and their variations are identified. The attributes of hardware vulnerabilities and risks are also described. In order to detect vulnerabilities in hardware at an early design stage, a special semi-natural simulation stand was developed. A scanning algorithm using the Remote Bitbang protocol is proposed to enable data to be transferred between OpenOCD and a device connected to the debug port. Based on scanning control, a verification method was developed to compare a behavioral model with a standard. Recommendations for ensuring security at all stages of the computer systems development process are provided.Conclusions. This paper proposes new technical solutions for detecting vulnerabilities in hardware, based on methods such as FPGA system scanning, semi-natural modeling, virtual model verification, communication protocol analysis and device diagnostics. The use of the algorithms and methods thus developed will allow developers to take the necessary measures to eliminate hardware vulnerabilities and prevent possible harmful effects at all stages of the design process of computer devices and information systems.

Optimisation of Inventory Management Through Time Series Analysis of Inventory Data with Double Exponential Smoothing Method

Stock forecasting is very useful for companies in knowing the trend of inventory needed in the next period, with time series data often forecasting can be a solution in supporting decision making. Excess or lack of stock of goods is often caused by a less than optimal record management process and often relies on personal intuition. In this study, the Double Exponential Smoothing method is applied in analyzing time series data and forecasting stock data. This method is used because it is in accordance with the company's sales data which is up and down. In addition, this forecasting calculation does not escape the error rate of forecasting calculations, therefore this system is also supported by the MAD (Mean Absolute Deviation), MSE (Mean Square Error) and MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage) methods to calculate the error rate of the forecasting results. The forecasting results show that this method is able to provide fairly accurate predictions with a MAD value of 5.2475, MSE of 43.009, and MAPE of 26.307%. By using DES, companies can perform better stock planning, reduce the risk of over- or under-stocking, and improve inventory management efficiency. The DES method is proven to be flexible and easy to implement in computerized information systems, so it is recommended to be used more widely in corporate inventory management.

The use of a computerized accounting information system can help in the processing of company data so that from this data it will produce information that is useful for the company. This study uses a systematic approach to review the literature. The results of this research aim to determine the influence of formalization of system development, the involvement of AIS users, to provide real experience about the use of computerized information systems can help organize business information in such a way that it produces useful information for business. This study uses a systematic literature review. The results to find out the research aimed at the results of system development, the role of users of accounting information systems, analyze the impact of accounting system performance and the user's ability to work on projects, and provide empirical evidence. This research method uses the systematic review method (SLR) to analyze journals and articles. In addition, the purpose of this study is to determine the impact of user understanding level, peak management support, and user interest in performance. By analyzing journals and articles published between 2015 and 2024, the study focuses on the impact of key management systems that help users participate in the performance of accounting systems. Fifty journals are used as sources in this journal research. The impact of the accounting information system and the user's ability depends on the business's motivation for the process. This research method uses the systematic review method (SLR) to analyze journals and articles. In addition, the purpose of this study is to determine the impact of user understanding level, peak management support, and user interest in performance. An analysis of journals and articles published between 2015 and 2024, focusing on the influence of senior management on user participation in the performance of accounting systems, Fifty journals were used as sources in this journal study.

El derecho informático y la influencia en los sistemas de información: un análisis bibliográfico bajo la perspectiva jurídica y tecnológica en Ecuador

This research focused on computer law and information systems in Ecuador. The aim was to analyze the legal and technological perspectives of computer laws and their influence on information systems in the Ecuadorian context. A PRISMA review protocol was established to obtain the bibliography, and advanced techniques such as Word2Vec and cosine similarity analyses were applied to two different linguistic corpora (Spanish and English). Hierarchical dendrograms provided a visual representation, highlighting groups of articles and the complexity of the relationship between computer law and information systems. The comparison between the corpora showed similarities and differences, such as the more marked connection between two of the articles in the Spanish corpus. The study revealed a significant connection between computer law and information systems, underscoring common themes such as cybercrime, data protection, and intellectual property. Links supported by Ecuadorian legislation were identified in areas such as software protection and e-commerce. However, the need to effectively implement the laws and broader international cooperation to address challenges such as cybercrime is emphasized. The study demonstrated disparities and connections between Ecuador's computer law and information systems. The need to adopt an interdisciplinary approach for future research is underlined.

The Effect of Electronic Banking on the Performance of Deposit Money Banks Listed in Nigeria

Despite the relatively recent arrival of electronic commerce in Nigeria, its popularity is snowballing. Over the years, it has steadily risen, advancing rapidly throughout the spectrum of financial intermediation and markets. Having a high-speed telecommunications network or a computerized information system has undoubtedly allowed banks to deliver new products and services by using new channels. In this study, we aimed to determine whether electronic banking affects the performance of Nigeria’s deposit money banks. We examined the audited financial statements of 10 deposit money banks listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 2011–2020 to extract secondary data. As well as journals, textbooks, and the CBN Bulletin, other public resources were used for the study. The findings revealed that e-banking had a positive and significant effect on the performance of listed Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria, as measured by Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), Point of Sales (POS), Internet Banking (IB), and Mobile Banking (MB), as measured by return on equity (ROE) and return on assets (ROA) (ROA). On the other hand, e-banking does not significantly affect Earnings per Share (EPS). The study recommends that for effectiveness in electronic banking, there should be rigorous campaigns and awareness for clients to patronize e-facilities. Banks should further invest in Information technology given the disruptive trend of emerging financial solutions in Fintech.

Design of an information-computer system for the automated modeling of systems for automatic orientation of production objects in the machine and instrument industries

An information-computer system has been developed for the automated modeling of systems for automatic orientation of production objects, which is one of the most important and complex creative flexible production systems of machine and instrument engineering. The proposed information-computer system for automated modeling of systems of automatic orientation of production objects is an effective tool for solving an important task of a scientific and applied nature. Its use makes it possible to increase the speed and efficiency of information processing and to make correct and well-founded decisions when determining the composition and method of organization of systems of automatic orientation of production objects. The structure of this information-computer system is a specific set of software and hardware and information and telecommunication tools and interactive functional modules. This structure reproduces a certain paradigm that conditions the integrity and integration of the information-computer system for automated modeling of systems for automatic orientation of production objects in flexible production systems. In addition, uniformity, extensibility, the possibility of modernization and changeability of software components, protection of information from unauthorized access and preservation of commercial secrets are ensured according to international criteria for evaluating the protection of the computer system. Neuro-fuzzy network information processing and computer vision algorithms have been implemented for automatic identification of production objects and orientation devices, which are components of automatic orientation systems of production objects. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW IN THE PRACTICE OF SUBSURFACE USE

This article is devoted to the study of the relationship of intellectual property rights with the right of subsurface use. In the article, the author made an attempt to reveal the legal nature of geological information, offered his author's vision on the issue of attributing geological information to the number of objects of intellectual property rights. The complexity of obtaining the results of the study lies in the fact that geological information is contained not only in natural media (drill cores, samples of minerals, carbon dioxide, mercaptans, water, samples of rocks and minerals, samples and collections of stone material, slates, anshlifs, mineral solutions and powders). In addition, in the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - RK), the regime of ownership rights is extended to geological information, which is a consequence of insufficient study of geological information as an object of rights. The article shows the relationship of relations in the field of subsoil use with copyright, since many processes are based on the use of computer programs, information systems and other software. In addition, the activities of subsurface users are inextricably linked with inventions – objects of patent law, starting with geological exploration, survey work and ending with mining. The connection between the means of individualization and subsurface users is also obvious, since each subsurface user acts in civil circulation under its own brand name, produces products under a trademark or service mark. In addition, subsoil users often violate the exclusive rights of copyright holders, which leads not only to litigation, but also to losses in the case of the use of counterfeit goods.

Interactive experience of cross-cultural Japanese communication e-learning intelligent system based on computer information security

In the current situation of widespread digital media, e-learning has become the mainstream mode of online learning. Its intelligent and entertaining learning experience can enhance students' interest in learning. This article analyzes the interactive experience of cross-cultural Japanese communication e-learning intelligent system. The e-learning intelligent system can provide network platform support for the learning process, allowing students and teachers to engage in interactive learning through computer systems. At the same time, the system will also recommend learning materials that students are interested in. Adding some encryption techniques to the system in this article is mainly aimed at protecting the security of data. In order to build an intelligent communication system for cross-cultural Japanese, the main parameters of data information are generally used as the basis for experiments, and relevant coding principles are formulated. For some neural networks, the larger the stored values of the original training samples, the higher the sample size level of information parameters after successful decoding. The experimental results indicate that using data security encryption technology in computer information systems can effectively improve the overall performance of cross-cultural Japanese intelligent systems.

Analysis of the Criminalization of the Production and Sale of Online Game Plug-ins and the Regulation of Users

With the advent of the Internet information age, the game industry is booming, and online game plug-ins have come into being as cheats. From the definition and classification of online game cheats, it is found that the crimes involved mainly include the crimes of destroying computer information systems, copyright infringement, illegal business operations, and illegal computer intrusion under the Criminal Code of China, as well as the Personal Information Protection Law and the Unfair Prevention Law touched by the Japanese Criminal Law. This paper analyzes the possibility of criminalization and punishment of online game plug-in producers and sellers from three aspects: the main body of the online game market, policy orientation, and legal improvement. Comparing the criminalization and punishment of Chinese and Korean network plug-in users, it is possible to refer to the legal measures in South Korea.

Design of interactive online teaching system for big data computer information system based on mobile sensor network

The combination of the Internet and computers has resulted in many new products, including smart homes. The emergence of smart homes can satisfy people's detection of the internal environment of the home, not only to ensure the continuity and safety of indoor monitoring, but also to provide convenience for people to manage their family life. This paper analyzes the current status of smart home research at home and abroad, and people's needs for homes, and builds and designs smart home systems based on Ethernet and ZigBee protocol wireless sensor networks connected to TCP/IP protocol. In this article, the ARM chip is used in the Android system to ensure that the system and functions are matched, and information is transmitted through the serial port of the development board. After receiving the corresponding sending signal, the wireless module will use ZigBee technology to send the corresponding signal to achieve the goal of controlling home appliances. We divides the control system into two parts, the Android Voice Control Platform and the data collection terminal. The former is based on the Android operating system and is designed for voice recognition control; the latter uses a ZigBee microcontroller to achieve control and feedback. This article uses the built-in voice control system of the smart home to subtly replace the conventional control method of the smart home. Moreover, the dialogue with users is very high, easy to use, low cost, and very practical. In addition, the research methods used in this article can also be applied to other related fields.

From protocols to countermeasures: A comprehensive survey into IoT safety

The Internet of Things (IoT) has become a field with enormous potential, effect, and development with the emergence of smart cities, smart houses, and intelligent objects. Computer Information System Company (Cisco Inc). Projects that there will be 51 billion devices which are connected by 2021. However, the majority of those IoT gadgets are simple to alter and attack. These IoT devices are generally more susceptible to assaults than other types of endpoints such as desktops, mobile phones, or tablets because of their limitations in terms of storage, computing, and networking capability. The main IoT security concerns are presented and addressed in this study. Along with the methods utilized for connection, interaction, and administration, we examine and classify common security concerns about the IoT layers of architecture. In addition to the most recent assaults, challenges and innovative approaches, we describe the security necessities of the IoT. In addition, we connect and tabulate IoT safety problems with current literature-based remedies. Above all, we explore that blockchain technology, the software that powers Bitcoin, can play a major role in enabling the resolution of numerous IoT security issues. Difficulties along with unresolved research issues related to IoT security are also listed in this study.

ОСОБЛИВОСТІ ПРОЄКТУВАННЯ МЕХАНІЗАЦІЇ КРИЛА ЛІТАКІВ ТРАНСПОРТНОЇ КАТЕГОРІЇ

The paper analyses the methods of designing wing mechanisation for transport category aircraft. The wing layout with the placement of wing mechanisation means on the leading and trailing edges of the wing is analysed. Specific requirements for wing mechanisation units are considered. The analysis takes into account the requirements of aircraft operation, which provide easy access to inspect the mechanisation units and their attachment mechanisms. The need for constant monitoring of the synchronous operation of all mechanisation sections and ensuring their smooth movement is emphasised. The design of any type of mechanisation means involves the simultaneous solution of a number of development tasks: kinematic scheme, installation and control system, support structure and the device itself. In most cases, the drive mechanisms are also developed. The design of a new aircraft is a multi-stage iterative process that includes external design, development of a technical proposal, preliminary design, detailed design, production of prototypes, ground and flight tests, which determine the actual characteristics of the aircraft and the degree of its compliance with the technical specifications. Consider the advantages created by wing mechanisation equipment. The mechanisation of the AN-140 is considered as a representative of aircraft whose wings have trailing edge mechanisation but no leading edge mechanisation. The mechanisation of the AN-74 is also considered as a representative of aircraft that use two- or three-slotted retractable flaps, winglets or nose shields of large curvature over the entire wing span. The design technologies in integrated computer information systems are characterised, which allow to build a single process of computer modelling and engineering analysis and to conduct multivariate studies to select optimal design solutions in a sufficiently short time. A block diagram of the process of detailed design of flaps is proposed.

The Impact of The Computerized Accounting Information System in Reducing Financial Risks in Jordanian Commercial Banks

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the impact of computerized accounting information systems (CAIS) on reducing financial risks within Jordanian commercial banks listed on the Amman Stock Exchange. This involved examining the components, characteristics, and benefits of CAIS in this context. Methods: The study employed a questionnaire-based approach to gather information, distributing 75 questionnaires among financial managers and internal auditors within Jordanian commercial banks. A total of 64 questionnaires were retrieved and analyzed to draw conclusions. Results and Discussion: The analysis revealed a significant impact of various variables related to computerized information systems in mitigating financial risks within the sampled banks. This finding underscores the importance of CAIS in enhancing risk management practices within the banking sector. Notably, the study highlights the necessity of corporate governance implementation and the preparation of specialized reports to enhance financial risk disclosure processes. Implications of the Research: The findings of this research have several implications for both academia and practice. Firstly, they emphasize the crucial role of CAIS in reducing financial risks within commercial banks. Secondly, they underscore the importance of implementing robust corporate governance mechanisms to strengthen risk management frameworks. Additionally, the study suggests the need for further research to explore the impact of accounting information systems on different types of risks and their consequent effects on financial performance. Originality/Value: This study contributes to the existing literature by providing insights into the specific context of Jordanian commercial banks and their utilization of CAIS for managing financial risks. By identifying the components, characteristics, and benefits of CAIS in this setting, the research adds valuable knowledge to the field of accounting and finance. Moreover, its recommendations for enhanced corporate governance practices and specialized reporting can inform practical strategies for risk management in banking institutions.

Prediction of Student Employability through Internship based on Big Data Analysis

The internship course is among the most important because it gives students a hands-on opportunity to apply their knowledge and get ready to launch a professional career. Internships, yet, don't ensure employability, particularly in cases where a graduate's performance is subpar and internship requirements are not fulfilled. Researchers in the field of higher education face a significant challenge in predicting employability due to the multitude of factors that contribute to this issue. This research presented the methodology for more accurately classifying student data in order to overcome this drawback. Online surveys were used to collect data from Princess Nourahbint Abdulrahman University's College of Computer and Information Sciences information systems (IS) graduates (PNU). The Switching Hierarchical Gaussian Filter (SHGF) is used to preprocess the data at the pre-processing stage. The outcome from the pre-processing is transferred to the feature selection method, which uses Siberian Tiger Optimization (STO) to select the student features. The employed, continuing studies, unemployed, and training are successfully classified using the Multi Fidelity Deep Neural Network. The proposed MFDNN -STO applied to the MATLAB/Simulink platform. To calculate the proposed approach, performance metrics including recall, ROC, computation time, accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and F-score were examined. Higher accuracy of 16.65%, 18.85%, and 17.89%, as well as higher sensitivity of 16.34%, 12.23%, and 18.54%, are achieved by the suggested MFDNN-STO method. The computation time was reduced by 14.89%, 16.89%, and 18.23% as well as 82.37%, 94.47%, and 87.76% in comparison to the existing method.

In this context, the role of Computer Information Systems (CIS) becomes crucial in facing the challenges and opportunities that arise. This study aims to explore the role of CIS in Business 5.0, focusing on technology integration and business processes, analytical capabilities and data-driven decision-making, automation and operational efficiency, information security and compliance, as well as accountability and transparency. The research methodology involved literature search from academic databases and scientific journals using relevant keywords such as "digital transformation," "Business 5.0," "Computer Information Systems," and "technology integration." Selected information sources were then filtered based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, such as relevance, source credibility, and publication year. The results of literature analysis indicate that technology integration and business process serve as the foundation for the role of CIS in Business 5.0. Analytical capabilities and data-driven decision-making, along with automation and operational efficiency, also significantly contribute to increased productivity and organizational innovation. Additionally, aspects of information security and compliance, together with accountability and transparency, are key to building trust among stakeholders. The discussion of the results highlights the importance of understanding and implementing these concepts in the context of Business 5.0. By considering technology integration and business processes, analytical capabilities and data-driven decision-making, automation and operational efficiency, information security and compliance, as well as accountability and transparency, companies can optimize the role of CIS in transforming their businesses into the digital era 5.0, enhancing competitiveness, and achieving long-term success.

DEF: Deep Ensemble Neural Network Classifier for Android Malware Detection

Malware is one of the threats to security of computer networks and information systems. Since malware instances are available sufficiently, there is increased interest among researchers on usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Of late AI-enabled methods such as machine learning (ML) and deep learning paved way for solving many real-world problems. As it is a learning-based approach, accumulated training samples help in improving thequality of training and thus leveraging malware detection accuracy. Existing deep learning methods are focusing on learning-based malware detection systems. However, there is need for improving the state of the art through ensemble approach. Towards this end, in this paper we proposed a framework known as Deep Ensemble Framework (DEF) for automatic malware detection. The framework obtains features from training samples. From given malware instance a grayscale image is generated. There is another process to extract the opcode sequences. Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) techniques are used to obtain grayscale image and opcode sequence respectively. Afterwards, a stacking ensemble is employed in order to achieve efficient malware detection and classification. Malware samples collected from the Internet sources and Microsoft are used for the empirical study. An algorithm known as Ensemble Learning for Automatic Malware Detection (EL-AML) is proposed to realize our framework. Another algorithm named Pre-Process is proposed to assist the ELAML algorithm for obtaining intermediate features required by CNN and LSTM. Empirical study reveals that our framework outperforms many existing methods in terms of speed-up and accuracy.
