Hermeneutical Study of Surah al-Baqarah Verse 177 "Al-Birru Wa at-Taqwa" in the Book of Anwar At-Tanzil Wa Asrar At-Ta'wil

The process of understanding is a natural process that will be experienced by all human beings. Including the mufassir can not be separated from the activity of understanding. In the study of the Koran, active understanding activities are carried out, including Imam al-Baidawi. Anwar At-Tanzil Wa Asrar At-Ta'wil is a book that has received a lot of praise and criticism from scholars.
 This paper is intended to find out the hermeneutical thoughts of Imam al-Baidawi and his interpretation related to surah al-Baqarah verse 177 because at first glance the public sees this verse as a postulate for moving the Qibla from the Aqsa Mosque to Mecca, namely the direction of the Kaaba. This article is a qualitative type of article with a Schleiermacher hermeneutic approach. The subject of this article is the hermeneutical thinking of Imam al-Baidawi and sura al-Baqarah verse 177. The research results of this article are hermeneutical thinking in the art of understanding Imam al-Baidawi with a subjective view by using grammatical interpretation and prejudice of the mufassir based on his experience and al-birr in Surah al-Baqarah verse 177 means obeying all God's commands is a virtue which then gives birth to muttaqun indicators.

This paper discusses the Value of Character Education in QS. al-Ṣāffāt / 37: 102-103. To obtain data, the researchers traced data through the library (library research) through searching books and research results related to the problem under study. The approach used in this research is the normative theological approach, psychological approach, and historical approach. The data analysis technique used is deductive namely data processing techniques by analyzing the data and information that have been obtained, but still scattered and then collected and analyzed so that the data and information are intact and can provide a true picture of the object under study. This data analysis technique is done by departing from general data and then drawing conclusions that are specific.The results found that QS. al-Ṣāffāt / 37: 102-103 commentators explain the story of the Prophet Abraham who was willing to slaughter his son named Ishmael for obedience and patience to obey God's commands through his dreams supported by obedience of the child to the commands of his parents. Character education in the verse is divided into three main points, namely: First. The method, the method used is the method of command, dialogue, and example. Second. The principle, the principle used is the principle of integration, balance, rububiyah, and open. Third. Material, material taught is patience, obedience, politeness, and sincerity. With the wisdom contained in this verse, educators, especially parents can educate their children using the methods and methods of the prophets as exemplified by the prophet Ibrahim in educating their children to be children of character.

Abrogation is the basic dispute between Islam and Judaism. Jewish's point of view is that it is impossible to be abrogated the word of God. While Islamic resources claim it as a normal procedure of sharia. Jewish think that it's revealed in Torah that word of God can't be changed. While there are many quotes which we have quoted in this essay from Torah and Tanakh which clearly shows word of God was changed. Qur'an claims that it is a timely period of order which after its time has ended. And whatever new order replaces the previous order it's going to be whether better than previous order or same as previous order. When abrogation is a normal work and it has always happened new order replaces previous order. Same happens in sharia. Judaism was previous sharia which has been changed with Islam which is a better way of fulfilling the commandments of God.

On the point, the guidance and assistance of the church is an offering if the church will be born a generation of the future of the church that is mature and has a certain quality based on the growth and the development of acuteness and inner to determine the attitude to the development of media communication. The process of sharpening of mind and the sharpeness of the participants can be realized by giving some activities such as: awareness, deepening and even the sharpeness of the actor of media communication as an alternative of reporting work of the God Kingdom for human beings. By this method, the participants are invited to build a deeply reflection that based on thein real experiences about the media communication, while keep on self opening to the God planning will come to them and give them via the commandment of God. Religious Morality in Economic Behavior of Grocers In Sekaran, Semarang

Economic activity is the main activity carried out by human which its development can be affected by several factors. One of the factors is religion and belief that they have. Religion and economic are two influential elements because religion is able to push the mentality and motivation of human economy. Vice versa, the economy can be a driving force for improving the quality of a person's religious behavior. For the grocers in Sekaran Village, the economic activity that they do is not free from the influence of their religion and belief. The method used in this study was a qualitative method based on descriptive analysis which was located in Sekaran Village, Gunung Pati District, Semarang. This study shows that the economic behavior in the grocery grocer is strongly influenced by their religious spirituality. This can be seen in their view of property as a treasure given by God and should be used to help for fellow human beings, their view on working is based on the God's commands, as well as work ethic that is constituted by the teachings of their religion. This view then affects the entrepreneurial ethics and their economic action which are oriented to religious values.

Signifikansi Konsep Christian Nurture Menurut Horace Bushnell Bagi Keluarga Kristen

Christian Nurture is a Christian parenting concept that is applied in a family setting. The Christian Nurture pattern was introduced by a pastor named Horace Bushnell who lived in the 19th century, he emphasized the importance of a legacy of faith that is passed on to the next generation. In this 21st century, does the family still play a role in guiding children to God? or whether this nurturing task has been delegated to the church so that the clergy are responsible for the development of the faith of the youth. According to Bushnell parents and the church should strive for the development of the faith of young people. Bilangan Research Center (BRC) in its research in 2018 found that parents who become true followers of Christ produce young people who find their purpose in life in God, have fellowship with God, do not easily give up, have big dreams and are confident to achieve the dream. Busnell based the concept of Christian Nurture based on Ephesians 6: 4 "... educate them in the teachings and counsel of God." Furthermore, in Proverbs 22: 6, it says "Educate a young person according to the way that is proper for him, so that at old age he will not deviate from that path." Busnell argues that there is an organic relationship between parents and children, the relationship in question is the role of parents as pillars who guide children to love and know God's commands. Busnell's concept is strengthened by the text quoted from Deuteronomy 7: 9 "Therefore you must know that God, Your God, He is God, a faithful God, who keeps His covenant and loyal love towards those who love Him and keep His commandments, to the thousands of descendants. " And the similar ideas that underlie the concept of Christian Nurture can be seen clearly from the faith Timothy passed down from his family. "Because I am reminded of your sincere faith, which is the faith that first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and which I am sure lives also in you. (2 Tim. 1: 5). Some of the above texts convinced Busnell that in a parent who is faithful to God there is a life of strength and piety that is properly channeled to the offspring. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach, namely library studies. Through this paper, the author offers a thought about the concept of Christian nurture according to Horace Bushnell in the family sphere.

The legacy of singing Scripture only in the Reformed Churches in South Africa: The regulating role of the Word from Heidelberg to Dordrecht

This article presents a historical–theological investigation into, and retrieval of, the principle underlying Article 69 of the 1618–1619 church order of the Synod of Dordrecht for the reformation of worship in the Reformed Churches in South Africa (RCSA). Article 69 essentially mandates the singing of Scripture only in corporate worship. The Dordrecht church order was adopted by the RCSA (originally the Vrye Gereformeerde Kerk) at her founding in 1859, a founding in part as a reaction to the singing of free hymns in the mother Nederduitsch Hervormde Kerk. In her formation, the RCSA re-established vital continuity with a catholic and Reformed tradition of singing Scripture only in public worship. And yet, in 2012, the General Synod of the RCSA decided to revise Article 69 to allow for the singing of free hymns. In the name of Semper Reformanda, this article seeks to challenge the historical–theological validity of this decision by recovering a central principle overlooked at the aforementioned Synod, yet present in the continental Reformed tradition. That principle is the Scriptural or regulative principle of worship (S/RPW). Simply stated, it is doing in public worship only what God commands. The presence of the S/RPW in the founding standards of the RCSA is of significance for appreciating her historic 150-year legacy of singing Scripture only and for her ongoing responsible critique of introducing free hymns.

Sedangkan jika memperhatikan Imamat 23:4-44, nyatalah bahwa penetapan Sabat dimaksudkan agar umat Israel dapat mengakui bahwa TUHAN adalah pemberi nafkah dan pemelihara. Ketetapan tentang Sabat adalah perintah dan ketetapan Allah yang diberikan Allah bagi umat-Nya. Segala sesuatu yang ditetapkan oleh Allah itu baik adanya dan berguna bagi umat-Nya. Demikian juga dengan ketetapan atau peraturan tentang Sabat. Ketetapan Sabat mengajar supaya umat Tuhan menghormati Allah dan memiliki waktu khusus untuk beribadah dan menyembah Dia. Tuhan adalah pencipta yang mahakuasa dan berdaulat atas segala ciptaan-Nya. Sabat juga mengajar tentang kepedulian. Selain peduli terhadap waktu khusus untuk beribadah kepada Allah, umat Tuhan juga harus peduli dengan sesama. Umat Tuhan saat ini melakukan ketaatan terhadap ketetapan Sabat dengan memberi waktu khusus untuk beribadah. Bukan dengan cara yang kaku dan terkesan legalistik. First, upon attainment of eternal beatitude in heaven, caritas is not abandoned like faith and hope, but finds it fulfillment. Secondly, caritas is the only theological virtue which is chiefly concerned with the salvation of one’s neighbour. And thirdly, caritas enables man to live out the commandments of God in their fullness, thereby beginning the process of his divinization.

Paul Kruger – ’n ‘Dopper’ van sy tyd?

Paul Kruger, who was the president of the South African Republic ( Zuid-Afrikaansche Republic [ZAR]) from 1883 until 1900, was a symbol of Boerrepublicanism in the 19th century. In the development of this image, he also became an honoured prototype of an Afrikaner for his fellowmen. Kruger was born and bred in the North Eastern Cape as a member of that element of Afrikaners which became known as the ‘Doppers’. They were a group of people from which many, after 1859, became members of the newly found Reformed Churches in South Africa. They based their tenets of faith on the State Translation of the Bible published in 1637 in the Netherlands. The ‘Doppers’ were known as conservative people in their faith, in the customs organised in their church and in their approach of life. They were known for their believe that God should be honoured through life as a whole, that everything in church and in life should be based on Scripture and that theological liberalism was unacceptable in church and theology. They clothed in a simple and peculiar way. In their obedience to God, they were strict in the interpretation of the commands of God they deemed to be biblical. Kruger, as the state president of the ZAR, remained true to his church, but also kept up with new developments in society. He had a reasonable and modernised influence on his church.

Purpose of this research is to know and understand the menaing of plurality in Peekay movie. This study uses qualitative methods, and semiotics studies by using the semiotic theory of the two orders of signification model from Roland Barthes which interpret the signs through the stages of denotation, connotation, and myth, the paradigm used in conducting this research uses the constructivist paradigm. Data collection techniques in research carried out with documents, where researchers look for written sources, both from books, journals, research-relevant research, and the internet media. The results obtained by researchers are displaying several scenes that represent religious plurality, both with visuals and also dialogue and Voice Over contained in the PK film. Such as the scene depicting the buildings of places of worship of each religion, and the way each religion performs worship and Peekay who says that in this world there are many religions and each religion has its own Belief or God, where each of these religions has a way in doing God's commands. The diferents in Hinduism, Islam, Catholic Christianity, Sikhism, and Jainism symbol are the main core in this research.

Isti‘mār Al-Arḍ: The Concept of Prosperity for the Earth from Qur‘ānic Perspective

This article tries to uncover the concept of prosperity of the earth which begins with verse 61 of Sūrat Hūd, then continues by connecting it with other verses in the Qur‟ān and the Ḥadīth. The concept contains a message or a strong signal, even a command that humans can prosper the earth as a form of environmental preservation by maintaining the balance of nature. The method used is the thematic tafsīr or al-tafsīr al-mawḍū'ī which sees the verses of the Qur‟ān as a unified meaning and confirms that in the Qur‟ān there are no verses that contradict the others. This article found that God created humans from the earth and God told them to manage and prosper it while banning it from spoiling it. The earth and all its contents are intended for the survival and comfort of human life. This article concludes that the damage that has ever happened on earth is a result of human activity itself that does not act as God commands.

Waste Management In UIN Sumatera Utara (A Transdicipliner Approach)

This study aims to describe the waste management at UIN North Sumatra Campus. This research is a qualitative research. Data collected by observation and interview. Several strategies were carried out in this research, namely the sensitization of awareness through campaigns, training and action by forming forums and movements. The results of this study were analyzed with approach 3 (three approaches); Islamic Theology of Waste Management; Moral and Character Education Approach in Waste Management and Social Approach to Waste Management. By a theological approach, waste management should be approached with the belief that paying attention to waste must be based on the belief that it is all at the command of God and His apostles. The character approach implies that caring for this, is a good character and integral to his theological beliefs. The social approach gives awareness to the attitude that waste is not something that is simply ignored but must be a concern and be carried out with integrated cooperation

ПРОБЛЕМА СКІНЧЕННОСТІ ЛЮДСЬКОГО ІСНУВАННЯ В УКРАЇНСЬКОМУ ФОЛЬКЛОРІ

The article analyzes the existential problems of life, death and immortality in Ukrainian folklore (based on Ukrainian fairy tales). In the corpus of Ukrainian folk tales there are widely used topics, which in European philosophy and literature are called "tragic foundations of human existence" - awareness of the inevitability of death in the earthly existence of man, the search for forms of individual immortality. In Ukrainian fairy tales there is a dual attitude of the individual to the inevitability of his own death. On the one hand, there is the motive of reconciliation with the fate of human destiny, and in order to relieve the painful feeling of one's own finitude, the instruction on the higher meaning of the existence of death is forced. Death is justified because it appears as the prevention of the absurdity of infinite human existence or as an obstacle to the debauchery of the whims and dangerous wishes of the individual, or ultimately as the punishment of people for violating the commandments of the Supreme Spiritual Creature. In other words, death appears in a number of fairy tales as the expression of the highest world justice. At the same time, death mostly appears in fairy tales as an objectified pagan idea of Death as a concrete living creature with its whims, sympathies and weaknesses. The problem of finding ways to achieve immortality is traced in Ukrainian fairy tales in two ways. Most often, this search unfolds in the plane of the victory of the hero of the fairy tale over death, or through the imprisonment of death, or through the marriage of the hero to a divine being. This is a very common motive in the tales around the world. Less common is the motive of achieving immortality through the moral self-improvement of the hero, his compliance to the moral commandments of God. This is already a reflection in fairy tales of the influence of Christianity on the spiritual world of the ancestors of modern Ukrainians.
