The Impact of Digital-Based Mind Map on Creative Thinking Skills in Civic Education Learning

Students' creative thinking ability is low when using conventional learning media. Thus, the Civics learning process requires innovative learning media such as digital-based mind maps to improve students' creative thinking skills. This study aims to analyze the effect of digital-based mind map media on the creative thinking skills of class X students in Civics learning in vocational high schools. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study found 477 students using simple random sampling. This study used a test instrument in the form of an essay. Data collection was used for pretest and posttest. Hypothesis testing using t-test analysis with a significance level of 5%. The sample was determined through a random sampling technique which collected 62 students who were divided into two classes. The results showed that the posttest scores were more significant. Therefore, it can be said that there is a significant effect of digital-based mind maps on the creative thinking skills of class X students in Civics learning in SMK. Digital-based mind map media can improve students' creative thinking skills. It is expected that teachers use mind map media in learning civics education.

Improving Civics Education Learning Outcomes in 1908 National Awakening Spirit Materials by Using Problem Solving Learning Methods

Implementing teaching plays an important role for the success of teaching proces. Good teaching implementation was strongly influenced by good planning as well. In addition, the implementation of teaching can be successful if supported by the existence and enthusiasm of teachers and students. Intensive study conducted by the Directorate of Education (1996-1997) to identify students' learning and understanding in accordance with the curriculum. The aim of this article was to determine the extent to which the application of the Problem Solving learning method was applied in improving the Learning Outcomes of the National Awakening Spirit of National Awakening Material in 1908. The researcher used classroom action research method. This action research was conducted in 3 cycles. The result showed that it be able to improve the Learning Outcomes of the National Awakening Spirit of the Year 1908 by achieving ideal standards. From 64.31% in cycle 1, it can increase in cycle 2 to 74.92% and cycle 3 to 82.15%, and classically it has reached completeness. The results of this action research indicated that the application of the Problem Solving learning method can improve the Learning Outcomes of the 1908 National Awakening Spirit of Class VIII A PPKn with completeness reaching 100%, thus the application of the Problem Solving learning method was effective in improving learning outcomes in PPKn subjects at MTs Aswaja Tengaran.

PENERAPAN PERILAKU JUJUR MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN KEWARGANEGARAAN DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Honest behavior is the key to better education. In this case, education seems to turn a deaf ear to various problems related to honest problems. For that we need a solution to minimize it. A strategic solution to overcome these problems is to carry out civic education learning in elementary schools. The purpose of this research is to apply honest living behavior through civic education learning in elementary schools. In this case, civics education learning in elementary schools is important to be held because it will form a character attitude for students. Meanwhile, this study uses a qualitative method by conducting a literature study on the opinions of the figures and reviewing journals related to the material. The conclusion of this study is that civic education in elementary schools makes students good citizens because the content of the learning materials taught contains the value of character education, one of which is honest behavior.

PENGARUH MOTIVASI BELAJAR, MANAJEMEN KELAS DAN IMPLEMENTASI PROJECT BASEC LEARNING TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR PENDIDIKAN KEWARGANEGRAAN.

This study aims to show the positive effect of learning motivation on learning outcomes, the positive influence of classroom management on learning outcomes, the positive influence of project based learning (PBL) implementation on learning outcomes in Civic Education lessons in class VIII SMPS Harvest Christian School Tangerang. The research method used is descriptive analysis method that involved the entire population, namely 26 respondents in class VIII SMPS Harvest Christian School Tangerang. Data was collected using a survey method in the form of a closed questionnaire and a test in the form of a rubric. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, with inferential statistics, and hypothesis testing using SmartPLS version 3.0. This study shows that (a) learning motivation has a positive effect on student learning outcomes; (b) classroom management has a positive effect on student learning outcomes; c) PBL implementation has a positive effect on student learning outcomes in Civic Education learning. 

INNOVATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION: SERVICE LEARNING

The article is dedicated to service learning – a popular and innovative method of teaching and learning that aims at bridging the academic and non-academic environments, introducing students to real-life challenges faced by local community, enhancing students’ social responsibility, empathy, leadership etc. Service learning is a comprehensive holistic approach that mixes traditional academic learning with community engagement, research, civic education, value-based and life skills learning, nurturing inclusion and diversity. Community service is distinctly linked to the curriculum and the subject area of the study programme; theoretical learning is complemented by service that augments students’ specific and general (transversal) competences. Service should be genuine, meet the real needs of a community, merge learning with practical activity and target personal development of service beneficiaries who are actively engaged. Students, though they work under guidance and coordination of their teachers, are expected to play an active role in service learning planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation; they should demonstrate leadership and agency during service learning. Service learning is a flexible and allowing for variability teaching and learning method, which precipitates its effectiveness and attractiveness. Implementation of service learning in Ukrainian universities seems rational and essential as it can provide impetus for revision and modernization of study programmes, complement cognitive learning with social-emotional learning, augment links with stakeholders, involve students into real-life problem-solving, influence their outlook and encourage students to change the world for the better.

The Validity and Practicality of Pancasila and Civic Education Learning Model Based on Local Wisdom

One of the educational philosophies that are still being adopted in education, especially in Indonesia, is perennial. This school claims that education must always be linked to a culture that can shape a better human personality. This research is a part of research and development in creating a teaching model for Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) based on local wisdom. The main focus is to test the validity and practicality of the local wisdom-based PPKn learning model that has been developed. Two experts and three teachers were involved in this study to determine whether the products produced in this study were valid and practical. Several instruments are used in collecting data, namely validation sheets, model implementation observation sheets, and learning management observation sheets. The data that have been collected are then analyzed using a quantitative approach. The results showed that the PPKn learning model based on local wisdom was proven to be valid and practical. Thus, this learning model can be used for a more extensive trial process through effectiveness testing.

The Effect of Citizenship Education Learning to Improving Student Civic Knowledge

This study aimed to examine the effect of Civics learning on increasing students' civic knowledge. The location of this research is SMP Negeri 4Tomohon. The population in this study were all students at SMP Negeri 4 Tomohon, while the sample was grade VII students at SMP Negeri 4 Tomohon,totaling 69 students. The method used is a survey method with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. With questions for Civics learning as many as 15 and civic knowledge as many as 15 questions. Data analysis using simple regression or r test. The results showed that the effect of Civics Education Learning on improving Students' Civic Knowledge is 39.5%. In contrast, the rest is influenced by other variables.

Implementasi Karakter Kejujuran Melalui Pembelajaran PKn di SMP Kota Bengkulu

This study aims to determine the implementation of the character of honesty through civic education learning at SMPN 17 Bengkulu City and the inhibiting factors in implementing the character of honesty through learning civics education. This research is a type of qualitative research. The research subjects are civic education teachers and students. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the character of honesty through civic education learning at SMP Negeri 17 Bengkulu City is realized in the learning process, namely by habituation. Factors that hinder the implementation of the character of honesty through civic education learning include time, student environment, different backgrounds, different student characters, and lack of a culture of shame. In conclusion, the honest character of students in this school shows good character. However, there are some honest characters, such as not lying and not cheating, which are still done by students, there are still students who cheat when doing exercises and homework (PR). In the application of honest characters such as not lying and being trustworthy, the teacher makes habituation, then sets an example so that students can be trusted, and assignments so that students do not cheat.

Civic Education Pesantren Salaf di Madura : Sinergi Pendidikan Karakter dan Upaya Deradikalisasi

This study aims to describe the internalization of civic education, especially in the effort to foster the spirit of nationalism and love the country from two salaf Islamic boarding schools in Madura between the al-Mubarok Lanbulan Tambelangan Islamic Boarding School in Sampang and the Islamic Boarding School of Al-Is'af Kalabaan Guluk-Guluk Sumenep. The research subjects who became the information center consisted of caregivers, asatidz and administrators with data collection techniques including interviews, observation and documentation. For data analysis, the researcher used Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis technique. To test the validity of the data, it is used triangulation technique. The results showed that the internalization of civic education in these pesantrens was conveyed in three ways; First, through learning. The students are taught the morals of the state and love the country through the clasical book of 'Idhatun Nasyi'in and through civics education learning in the equality education system applied at the al-Mubarok Islamic boarding school. Meanwhile, for pesantren al-Is'af, it is applied through additional explanations in book recitation conditionally. Second, through the extra activities, including; organizing, bahsul masail, flag ceremony on 17 of August and the commemoration of the national santri day at al-Mubarok, as well as through bahsul masail and muhadara activities at the al-Is'af boarding school. Third, through social activities of students in the internal boarding school.

The Cultivation of Social Attitudes through Civic Education Learning in the Pandemic Era as an Effort to Build Students' Social Skills

Indonesia and other countries in the world are being hit by a very extraordinary health crisis that is Covid-19 . Covid-19 also has an impact on the implementation of learning in universities, implementation of lectures using the online method. Citizenship Education courses that teach about norm values are a bit difficult to implement online because they cannot directly observe student attitudes which are reflected in the course content. Inculcating social attitudes in learning during this pandemic is very important. Because it is expected that students have social awareness of the current situation. The importance of social attitudes in learning so that students have social skills so that they are able to establish good cooperation to achieve the learning object of citizenship education. Social Skill and social attitudes are one of the indicators in realizing the smart and good citizen goal of Civic education. Having a social attitude makes students more sensitive to problems that occur in the surrounding environment and can participate in finding solutions to problems that exist in the community. The purpose of this study was to find out how to instill Social Attitudes through Citizenship Education Learning in the Covid-19 Pandemic Era as an Effort in Formation of Student Social skills. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection observations, documentation and interviews. The results of the study show that the practice of social skills through Civic Education learning in this Pandemic era is carried out by habituation. Social attitudes that are instilled are honesty, discipline, responsibility, polite, caring, and confident. Habituation carried out in the learning process can take place through demonstrations and agreements made between students and lecturers together in the classroom. Inculcating social skills in learning is greatly assisted by online learning platforms such as LMS and social media. Researchers’ recommendation is that further research can develop the acquisition of other skills in Citizenship Education learning.

Learning Civic Education Based on Local Culture of North Sulawesi Society

Indonesia is currently experiencing significant problems related to its national character. The issue of federal character leads to further weakening of the younger generation's understanding of the noble values of Pancasila, which are sourced from the Indonesian local wisdom. This is because the local wisdom values of the community are less discussed by the teacher, let alone associated with the learning material being taught. Teachers in delivering learning materials are more focused on explicitly stated material in the learning curriculum. This study aims to identify the local wisdom of North Sulawesi values that can be used in Civics gaining knowledge of the elementary, junior excessive, and excessive college levels. This study is a qualitative study with records series thru observation, interviews, and literature have a look. Sources of records on this have a look at have been students, teachers, and principals. This has a look at that the values of neighborhood awareness of North Sulawesi are still less internalized in the Civic Education learning process; therefore, this study recommends developing an education model based on the North Sulawesi local cultures.

Menumbuhkan Siswa Sebagai Warga Global Melalui Media Interaktif Di Sekolah Dasar

The development of civic education content and learning processes in elementary schools is significant to proportionally accommodate global issues so that students can play a role as citizens and like global citizens. Various approaches and media are being developed. One of them is gamification-based interactive thematic learning media. In previous studies, an analysis of Civics learning at SDN 38 Hulonthalangi was carried out as a vehicle for the formation of students as citizens of the world. The research found a picture of the learning that was not optimal in developing student competencies as global citizens. So that the author conducts collaborative research with students in developing interactive learning media and produces interactive multimedia designs in the form of an Android-based application to know the world. This study aims to develop media and content-oriented to the Basic Competencies of Civics in the Globalization Theme in Class VI, by adopting and modifying Thiagarajan's research methods, namely define, design, develop, and dissimination. The results of this study are to test the feasibility of the application, namely by validating the application to a team of experts and has obtained an average percentage value of 93.05% for media and 93.75% for the material. Based on the results of this study, an Android-based application to know the world is very suitable to be used in the process of learning the theme of globalization for class VI and is believed to be part of the process of preparing students as global citizens in elementary schools.

Analysis of Civic Education Learning in The Effort to Internalize The Local Wisdom of North Sulawesi

The purpose of this study is to describe the learning process of Civic Education in schools and identify the values of local wisdom of the people of North Sulawesi that can be used as a source in Civic Education learning at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels. This research focuses on identifying the values of local wisdom of the people of North Sulawesi and analyzing the level of need for developing a Civic Education model based on the local culture of the people of North Sulawesi. This study uses a qualitative approach. Sources of data from this study were teachers at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels in North Sulawesi. St. Catholic Elementary School Clara Tomohon, St. Don Bosco Catholic 2 Elementary School Paniki Bawah, SD Negeri 2 Tataaran, SMP Negeri 4 Tomohon, SMP Negeri 6 Manado, SMP Negeri 1 Tondano, SMK Negeri 1 Tomohon, SMA Negeri 1 Manado, and SMA Negeri 3 Tondano. Sources of data in this study were teachers who were in schools that were used as research locations. Collecting data through a google form, interview, observation, and literature study. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman technique, namely data collection, data reduction, conclusion, and drawing/verification. In testing the validity of the data, the researcher will use internal validity (credibility) on the aspect of truth value in its application in terms of external validity (transferability) and reliability (dependability) on the consistency aspect and objectivity ( confirmability ) on the naturalist aspect. This study found that the teacher prepared the Civics learning process from the planning, implementing, and evaluating. There is an urgent need to develop Civics learning models based on the local wisdom of the people of North Sulawesi.

Pengaruh Gaya Belajar dan Pemanfaatan Sumber Belajar terhadap Hasil Belajar PPKn Siswa

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning styles and the use of learning resources on the learning outcomes of fifth grade Civics at SD Negeri Sekbin II, Bulakamba District, Brebes Regency. 168 students have been selected to be the sample of the study by means of random sampling and the solvin formula. The results of the study found that; (1) There is an influence between learning styles on PPKn learning outcomes with the results of the calculation of tcount > ttable which is 4, 039 > 1,974 and the correlation between the two is 0.299 or is said to be in the low category. The contribution of learning styles to student Civics learning outcomes is 8.9%; (2) There is an influence between the use of learning resources on PPKn learning outcomes with the results of the calculation of tcount > ttable which is 6.405 > 1.974 and the correlation between the two is 0.445 or is said to have a relationship in the medium category. The contribution of the use of learning resources to students' Civic Education learning outcomes is 19.8%; (3) There is an influence between learning style and the use of learning resources on students' Civic Education learning outcomes with the results of the calculation Fcount > Ftable, namely 25.07 > 3.051 and multiple correlation in the medium category (0.483). The contribution of learning styles and use of learning resources to student Civic Education learning outcomes is 23.3%. In conclusion, there is a statistically significant effect of learning style and the use of learning resources on the learning outcomes of fifth grade Civics at SD Negeri Sekbin II, Bulakamba District, Brebes Regency.

Pengembangan Multimedia Interaktif Berbasis Articulate Storyline Materi Penerapan Nilai-nilai Pancasila

The development of interactive media based on articulate storylines for practicality and ease of use of civic education learning is a significant thing to review, especially material on the application of Pancasila in everyday life. This research is subject to elementary school teachers using the Research and Development (R&D) research method using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development or Production, Implementation or Delivery and Evaluations). The feasibility of this media is carried out through media expert tests and material expert tests. While the practicality of this media by conducting a limited trial involving 5 teachers who were then given a questionnaire, to find out the teacher's response to the interactive media based on the articulated storyline that was developed. Articulate storyline-based interactive media is proven to be good. This is proven by the percentage results that reach 70% for the media expert test to get the Good category. The results of the Material expert test get a percentage result of 80 in good category, so that from the media expert test and material expert test the average percentage is 75%, where the media is in good category and interactive media based on articulate storylines is proven to be practical. This is proven based on the results of the questionnaire responses from elementary school teachers, with the percentage results reaching 90.3%.

The Effect of the Implementation of Mind Mapping Method on Critical Thinking Skills in Civic Education Learning

One of the efforts made to produce quality human resources in a developing country like Indonesia is to carry out development in all fields. In the field of education, various efforts to improve the quality of education are always carried out. This study aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of Mind Mapping method on the critical thinking skills of grade X students in civic education learning. This research is a quasi-experimental study using quantitative approach. The research sample was 62 students divided into 2 classes who were selected using random sampling technique. Data were collected by conducting pre-test and post-test. Hypothesis testing using t-test analysis with a significance level of the analysis results was determined at 5%. The result showed that there was an effect of the implementation of Mind Mapping method in learning civic education on the critical thinking skills of class X students. This is indicated by the increase of of the post-test that is 7.923. In addition, the ttable on df 60 was 2.000, and the significance value of 0.000 was smaller than the significance level of 5% (0.000 < 0.05). Mind mapping as a learning method can be used as a solution to improve students' critical thinking in the learning process in order to achieve learning goals.

Rectoverso Education And Technology: Digital Track Of Adaptive Covid-19 Civic Education Learning

Revitalization of Character Development in Civic Education Learning Management

This study aims to see the process of reforming education management that impacts students' character development through learning civic education to foster a sense of discipline and defend the country, so that character development is formed. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data triangulation analysis is strengthened by the literature related to this research. The study results explain that civics learning management improves students' ability to understand various learning methods to be more creative and innovative. Civics lessons play a role in forming student character supported by well-organized education management, improves teachers' performance in delivering civic education subjects, and develop students' ability to instill high national values through civics education.

Pengembangan Model Pembelajaran Specialist Dialogue Team (SDT) Untuk Meningkatkan Keaktifan dan Hasil Belajar pada Pembelajaran PPKn

This study aimed to produce a cooperative learning model with the Specialist Dialogue Team (SDT) technique to increase the activeness and learning outcomes of students in Pancasila and Civic Education learning. This study used the type of Borg & Gall development research. The results of the study showed that the Specialist Dialogue Team (SDT) learning model was valid and be able to increase the activeness and learning outcomes of students. The validity of the model was known to be the learning expert validation test, obtaining a score of 97.36 and the material expert test was 75 and the lesson plan validation test was 92.18. The activity of students who were originally in the low category became the medium category. The average learning outcomes with post-test scores were higher than pre-test results, Class VIII C with scores from 67 to 77 and Class VIII A in the first meeting from 69 to 78, the second meeting to 84. These results indicated that there has been a significant change between learning outcomes before and after the application of the developed learning model.

Implementasi Model Pembelajaran Proyek Warga Global dalam Pembelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan

This study aimed to analyze the planning, implementation, assessment, and characteristics of the global citizen project learning model in civic education learning. This study used qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques and data sources were obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results and discussion in this article indicated that the planning of a global citizen project learning model was carried out by preparing a learning planning design that includes approaches, methods, models, media, and learning evaluations. The implementation of the global citizen project learning model was carried out with the concept of blended learning in two meetings based on the syntax of the global citizen project learning model consisting of topic determination, project design, implementation, evaluation, and publication. The assessment of the learning model of the global citizen project was carried out using observation sheets, written and oral test formats, as well as the observation sheet format for evaluating the results of global citizen project products. There are six characteristics of the global citizen project learning model in civic education learning, i.e. developing religious attitudes of faith, piety, and character; tolerance; global insight; critical, creative, and innovative thinking; collaboration and communication, and media literacy.
