Characteristics of Mongol Figures in Persian Miniature Paintings

Among art categories, Persian miniature paintings have a very high reputation. Persian miniature paintings are also called Iranian miniature paintings. Persian miniature paintings first appeared in illustrations in books. Miniature painting began to have a significant Mongolian style in the 13th century AD. At the same time, it was influenced by Mongolian art and finally reached its peak in the 15th and 16th centuries. Because the Mongols at that time wanted to write "Historical Collection" and other similar types of works, they added some illustrations. This movement effectively promoted the development and growth of Persian miniature painting in the world, allowing Persian miniature painting known to more people, and the development of Persian miniature painting has broken the previous constraints on figure painting in Islamic countries and created its own distinctive artistic style. After relevant investigation and understanding, it was found that the current academic research on Persian miniature paintings is mostly around the techniques, composition and color of Persian miniature paintings. For this reason, this thesis research will mainly be based on the research of other scholars. In it, the image of Mongolian figures in Persian miniature paintings is discussed in detail to deepen the understanding of Persian miniature paintings.

In the article, the author explores the history of creation and development of the media franchise which revolves around the life of a fictional extravagant and in his own way genius serial killer and cannibal, Hannibal Lecter. The author of the study attempts to systematize the movies and series of the Hannibal universe, with a particular focus on the Hannibal TV series (2013–2015). The focus specifically on a TV series is due to the fact that such works have become a significant form of popular culture. The popular images that are formed within the context of a TV series are based on topical and meaningful categories of culture. This makes contemporary TV series, such as Hannibal, an influential tool for forcing the viewer to reflect on important issues. In this way, TV series today are able to influence cultural dynamics. On the other hand, as the author of the article shows on the example of Hannibal, the material of such media products is also a promising source for researching the processes and transformations taking place in society and identifying topical problems and challenges. The present study aims to identify various aspects of the complex and controversial personality of Hannibal in the context of contemporary culture. To achieve this purpose, the author, on the one hand, compares the image of the main character with the real and fictional characters of popular culture, and on the other hand, analyses several key categories of culture, including power, art and others, which all together allows defining the features of Hannibal’s personality within the coordinate system of culture.

Penggunaan Media Gambar Langkah Kaki Terhadap Hasil Belajar Pencak Silat Seni Tepak Tilu Jalan Muka Satu

Abstract
 Learning media has a big enough role in efforts to improve learning outcomes. Pencak silat is one of the sports that is studied in schools as part of efforts to preserve national culture, however, learning pencak silat is often learning material that is considered old-fashioned and boring and movements that are quite difficult for students because the movements must be memorized in pencak silat. silat is quite diverse, especially in the category of ibing martial arts, so that it has an impact on learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of media images of footsteps on the learning outcomes of the pencak silat art of tap tilu one way street in high school students. This study uses the experimental method, the research design used in this study is the Posttest Only Control Design. The research sample was class X high school students with a total of 30 people. The research instrument uses the standard assessment of the national jury referee in the ibing category. Based on the research results obtained (1) the learning outcomes using the normality test show that the value (L count) in the post-test of the two 
 classes is smaller than the table value with degrees of freedom (α = 0.05). This means that the variances of the two samples are the same or homogeneous. (2) Then the calculation of the t-test in table 4.5 obtained a significance value at the time of the posttest, a significance value of 2.36 ˃ 1.753 was obtained, then H0 was rejected, meaning that there was a significant difference in the effect of learning outcomes between the experimental group and the control group, it can be explained that the implementation of media images of footsteps has a significant influence on the learning outcomes of pencak silat, the art of tepak tilu, one way face for students in senior high schools..

Elliptical Forms: Abstract Algorithmic Objects

Contemporary systems painting directly engages with the material of contemporary culture, not necessarily the technological substrates of computation, social media, the Internet, and artificial intelligence, but the concept of the algorithm and the circulation and patterning of information at the limit of human apprehension. Systems painting emerged as part of the wider category of systems art in the 1960s—a heterogenous collection of artists who were focused on the exploration of social, ecological, and technological systems, and the processes that underpin them. These systemic fields increasingly define and shape our lifeworld in the 21st century, producing an excess of algorithmically generated information. It is, therefore, appropriate to consider the role system painting plays in addressing the conceptual, aesthetic, and affective aspects of information derived from computational, algorithmic, and rule-based processes. This paper discusses the practice of the contemporary systems painter James Hugonin and his series of paintings Fluctuations in Elliptical Form (2015–2021). Karl Popper’s theory of three worlds is introduced, and the concepts of ‘concrete’ and ‘abstract’ objects are described and applied to Hugonin’s painting as a way of understanding the role externalised rules and internal intuitive decisions play in the construction of these complex and visually mesmerising paintings.

This article was written as part of the 130th anniversary of M. Zhumabaev. The article examined the issues of philosophical reflection of the work of M. Zhumabaev. M. Bekenuly is a poet lyricist and he is truly perceived as a single, public figure of the Turkic peoples. The poet's work is characterized not only by historicism, reflections on spirituality, but also by an irrational experience, abstract imagination. The article contains a study of the spiritual activity of M. Zhumabaev and a comparison of his works with the philosophical views of the German philosopher F. Nietzsche on art. A comparative study by F. Nietzsche on the role, specifics of categories of religion, art and philosophy in determining the cognitive actions of a person was used. The poetic heritage of M. Zhumabaev passed the test of time and proved its artistic value and synthesized the categories of humanism, nobility, happiness and pan-Turkism, pessimism and lyrical experience of the aspirations of Kazakh society. The article uses the hermeneutic method of contents of the verse “Prophet” and “Flood” to determine the philosophical meaning of artistic images. The revival of national identity in modern Kazakh society, the strengthening of independence aroused interest in the poetic activities of Magzhan as an object of philosophical research. The field of study of the works of Magzhan strengthened the spiritual, historical self-awareness of generations. She laid the groundwork for shaping it as ideological content of public policy. He painfully assessed radical changes in society, trying to comprehend the future of the Kazakh people and the tragedy of the rash action of contemporaries. The value of M. Zhumabaev's creative contribution for the culture and historical memory of Kazakhstan was analyzed.

Analysis of somatotype profile of Tarung Derajat arts: A comprative study between movement and combat arts categories

Study Purpose. Somatotype is a parameter used to determine criteria based on body type. However, not many have done somatotype measurements in selecting prospective athletes. This study aims to analyze the somatotype of athletes in the Tarung Derajat martial arts sport Material and Methods. This research uses descriptive research methods with survey research types and quantitative approaches, namely an anthropometric measurement test to identify the type of human body. Anthropometric measurement test is carried out by measuring bone width, body circumference, body fat thickness, weight and height. Perposive sampling technique was used in determining the sample. In this study, there were 30 Tarung Derajat martial arts athletes consisting of 15 categories of motion art and 15 categories of fighting that were sampled. Results. The results of the study show that the central body type in athletes in the arts of motion with a percentage of 13% and 40% in combat athletes. Furthermore, the endomorph body type is 13% for motion art athletes and combat athletes with a percentage of 7%. For the endomorph-mesomorph body type as much as movement arts with a percentage of 67% and combat athletes by 47%, while for the Mesomorph, Mesomorph-Ectomorph body type there are no athletes and athletes in the arts of motion and fighting have an ectomorph endomorph body type with a percentage of 7%. The results of the study prove that in athletes in the movement arts category and fighters there are similarities in the body type they have which tend to have endomorph-mesomorph. Conclusions.The conclusion is that the dominant body type in Tarung Derajat athletes shows an endomorph-mesomorph tendency with a percentage value of 67% in the movement arts category and 47% in the fighter category. The data of this study provide the characteristics of fighting somatotypes, which can be used to establish references for systematic research in sports health sciences. The results of this study are expected to influence coaching for training concentration, with more emphasis on somatotype.

Bibliometric Study on Social Capital Articulated with Representative Democracy

This article deals with the analysis of the scientific review on the articulation between social capital and representative democracy, having as parameters the relationship of the following articulated terms: Social Capital & Democracy in the Scopus & Web of Science databases. The analysis responds to the review of authors, citations, types of product, keywords, country of origin, and area of knowledge, for this purpose, the study focuses on the review of the products generated in the categories of social sciences, arts, and humanities, economics and political science. A descriptive methodology is developed based on the technique of bibliometric analysis, developed from the selection and documentary exploration, as well as recurrence in the citation generated by scientific nodes. As result, it is observed that production prevails in the United States, about the linking of terms, concentrated in social sciences and political science, expressed in the publication of a high percentage of scientific articles, followed by Europe, which observed a discreet production in Latin America. Likewise, a low density in the generation of broad citation networks is evident, which makes visible a relatively atomized scientific context in this field.

Reflection of Political and Social Development in the Religious Street Names of the City of Trnava and their Potential in Tourism

Aim. From the point of view of the period of creation and historical development, we consider the streets of the historical core of Trnava to be the most dynamic, and why we focused on street name changes in the period from 1900 to the present in the area of the historical core of the city. Methods. As part of the methodology the classification by urbanonym, with the help of which we included the names of streets and squares into individual categories. A classification was used that divides urbanonyms into socially motivated and socially non-motivated, which are further divided into several subcategories. Urbanonyms are further divided into domestic and foreign. This classification is the most up-to-date of those mentioned and includes a category of religious names. Results. The category of socially significant street names, are divided at a lower level into the categories of politics, art and culture, church, science, crafts and trade, historical names and institutions. The most numerous is the group of names in the art and culture category, which includes 70 domestic and 10 foreign names, which together represent 25.89% of the total number of streets in the city. There are 15 streets in the categories of politics, church and science (4.85% of all 309 streets). Conclusion. Currently, Trnava can be characterised as a modern, dynamic city with a great influence on its surroundings. The restrictive measures taken in connection with the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 greatly affected the tourism sector and meant permanent closure for many businesses.

Defining Art as Phenomenal Being

At the beginning of the 20th century, the definition of art became one of the difficult topics of aesthetics and art theory. The emergence of the institutional approach and the debates surrounding it provoked many responses. This article proposes one possible response that uses Kant’s example of category deduction as a productive analogy that can serve as a “deduction of art categories”. Art is seen as a phenomenal entity constituted by multiple meaning perspectives, each of which has a figure representing it (author, spectator, patron, collector, curator, connoisseur, critic, historian, typologist, theorist, aesthetician, and metaphysician). The position of each of these figures legitimates a categorical definition that participates in the constitution of the “phenomenal being of art”.

The Visual Representation of Malaysian Cultural Identity in 1950s Printmaking Artworks

Printmaking is one of the categories of visual arts that is still practiced and plays an important role in the development of visual arts in Malaysia. In the production of printmaking artworks, the representation of images or visuals is important in reflecting the artist’s background, which is often closely related to understanding history, heritage, or culture. This research aims to explore the visual representation of Malaysian culture, which was portrayed in Malaysian printmaking artworks in the 1950s. The method for identifying Malaysian culture is through an integrative literature review. A few 1950s printmaking artworks have been selected to be analyzed based on Malaysian cultural elements through a content analysis approach. The sample for this research is printmaking artworks that were produced in 1950. The outcomes of this research indicated that in showing Malaysian cultural identities, the existence of Malaysian cultural features in printmaking artworks from the 1950s had become crucial historical evidence. Without these visual depictions, future generations are unable to learn about Malaysian culture and the past. The research findings from this study will be used as a guide for future researchers, especially in understanding Malaysian culture from the perspective of the visual arts. In conclusion, it is suggested that future research on Malaysian printmaking include more samples from different eras so that the development of the visual depiction of Malaysian culture through printmaking may be characterized in more detail.

Detailed, precise and ridden with excellent examples, Jon Phelan’s Literature and Understanding: The Value of a Close Reading of Literary Texts is an inviting and inspiring book that seeks to establish a novel account of the cognitive value of literature. It does this by providing a variety of arguments supporting the educative, cognitive and moral value of literature. Phelan positions himself within the literary cognitivist camp and joins the minority within it who argue that it is through literary devices, and not through its fictional dimension, that literature gives us knowledge. As he claims in the first chapter, philosophers are all too quick to run literature and fiction together, making it unclear how precisely the learning takes place, attributing the cognitive impact of fiction to the literary dimension of a work and vice versa. To overcome this problem, Phelan establishes a category of literary fiction, taking inspiration from Ken Walton’s (1970) notion of categories of art (each with its own set of standard features) and Stacie Friend’s (2012) account of fiction as a genre. As he sees it, literary fiction includes those works that exhibit the standard features of literature and of fiction.

Quality improvement path and countermeasures of visual arts for future metaverse: Based on G1-entropy value method

As the most popular art category in the contemporary art field, visual art is no longer limited to traditional art categories such as painting, sculpture and photography, but develops into more diverse forms of expression with the continuous iteration of science and technology. As the most cutting-edge and popular concept in the world today, the research, development and application of science and technology have attracted close attention from all walks of life, including management, economy, transportation, education and teaching. However, there is no in-depth and clear research between the concept of metaverse and the concept of metaverse in the art field, especially in the visual art field. We believe that visual art creation under the background of the metaverse will be an important direction of art development in the future, and will also greatly promote the improvement of the visual presentation quality of the metaverse. Therefore, we focus our research in this study on the issue of visual art quality assessment and propose a theory and method for assessing the quality of visual art in a future-oriented metaverse. This method is based on the G1 entropy method in fuzzy mathematics. In our research, we have built a visual art field architecture based on the metaverse. Considering the difference between the traditional visual art evaluation index system and the index system after the introduction of the concept of the future metaverse, we have built a brand-new visual art quality evaluation index system facing the future metaverse. This indicator is composed of four first-class indicators and twelve second-class indicators. We combine the subjective and objective weighting G1 entropy method as the method basis for the quantitative calculation results of the indicator weight. On the basis of quantitative analysis, we propose three-point countermeasures for improving the visual art quality of the future metaverse. Our research makes up for the gap in the theory of visual art quality evaluation after the introduction of the concept of the future metaverse, innovates the analysis of new concepts and the improvement of old methods, builds a new scene of organic combination of new technology and traditional visual art, and provides a new idea for the improvement of visual art quality in the future at home and abroad, It can also provide experience and theoretical support for the academic topic of similar art quality evaluation research at home and abroad.

The Issues of Art and the Artist in Karol Wojtyła’s Literary Works

The relevance of the selected research topic, especially the meaning of art and the artist in Karol Wojtyła’s poems, arises from the current growing crisis of civilization, in which modern man does not occupy a key place, but gets lost in the technological space and armed conflicts. The subject of this study is the concept of ethics, the moral character of man in the role of God’s co-creator of the world, which is omnipresent in K. Wojtyła’s poems. It is not only about religious foundations, but also about the integral human essence inherent in the behavior of a person. This is ethical personalism, a theory developed by John Paul II at an early stage of his career. It dominates the sphere of images, motifs, stylistic figures, etc. The individual is at the center of John Paul II’s thinking as a poet and thinker. Based on the ethical personalism developed by the author himself, we have traced the main directions of the spiritual renewal of the individual and of the society indicated by him. It is not only about a separate nation or nationality, but also about an integral human community to which Karol Wojtyła spoke in his works. Based on the analysis of the poems, it was concluded that the categories of artist and art are presented in Karol Wojtyła’s poetry in various ways, taking into account the horizontal and vertical peculiarities of their semantics, have a universal resonance, and contribute to the development of patriotism and moral values of society.

Flow As An Operative Methodology Generating The Time Of Intersection Through The Relationship Between Architecture And Artwork In Public Space

Time has always fascinated men for its (apparently) inviolable structure and for the poetic dimension that this concept brings with it. During the history of civilization, time has been a crucial concept to understanding reality. At the beginning of the Twentieth century, thanks to the scientific discoveries, above all, Albert Einstein’s general relativity theory, the notion of time became an important element also for science for understanding the structure of the universe. The continuous and ever-faster scientific discoveries have also dissolved the linearity of time and its very nature, offering new possibilities to rethink space-time, as a series of connected, but not necessarily linear, events. Something we are experiencing today through the multi-temporality of the digital world, but which at the same time also shifts our way of perceiving physical reality.Everything we do and produce is inevitably part of a space-time dimension. We can therefore interpret time - also - as a distinctive structural element of the things that human beings build, whether small or large, from tools to metropolises.In this background, it is very interesting to understand how time works in two of the most symbolic categories of objects of human creation, art, and architecture, focusing more specifically on the category of art in public space. The time that works into the artwork is naturally different from the time that works into architecture, that is, observing art in public space, there are two different times that overlap, or rather the architectural space (and time) houses inside of it, the space (and time) of the work of art. The overlapping of these two different times, inevitably creates a third time, that we will call a “Time of Intersection”, which becomes the subject of this paper.

The role of art in coastal and marine sustainability

AbstractSustainability is a universal goal that requires balancing social, economic and environmental dimensions, and that applies to both terrestrial and marine environments. Several authors argue that arts are valuable tools to frame and engage with current environmental issues related to sustainability, including pollution, climate change and biodiversity loss. Accordingly, our research question is: What is the role of art in the sustainability of coasts and seas? We searched our research question on the two most important scientific databases of articles (Scopus and Web of Science) and retrieved 1,352 articles. We narrowed the articles to 79 studies that actually address our question through screening. The dataset describes a variety of artworks from the four art categories (literary, media, performing and visual) around the world, although the more frequent countries are the US, the UK and Australia. We found that visual arts are more common (~40%), and engagement is a highlighted pursued impact (~40%) by these artistic practices. Other authors also intend to promote marine conservation and restoration, management, education and activism. Only 19 articles of the dataset measured the impact of artistic activities on their audience. This subset shows evidence of art contributions to sustainability mainly through raising awareness, learning, and promoting engagement and enjoyment of project participants. Through this work, we set the current state of knowledge on this emerging topic, and argue that further research and new strategies of impact measurement are needed to thoroughly understand the effect of art on coastal/marine sustainability.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) through the arts education: A review of research literature

The role of arts education in promoting Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) among students is examined in this literature review. Between 2017 and 2022, the last five years yielded fertile ground for research studies and articles about Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and the arts within the field of arts education. The article begins by establishing the significance of the topic and giving a brief summary of it. The remainder of the article focuses on transformative learning and is organized around a variety of artistic categories for social and emotional learning. The review reveals that arts education is an effective way of promoting SEL, as it provides a safe space for students to express themselves creatively, build their self-confidence, and develop their social skills. The review also highlights the importance of arts integration, which involves integrating the arts into other subject areas, in promoting SEL. The conclusion includes critical reflections and recommendations for future applications of this topic via research, programs, and policy. The encompassing goal of this literature review is to serve as a foundational source to compile the research on this topic and to serve as a springboard for future research in this area.

Martial arts training, competition and sports nutrition: A future beneficial alliance

Over the last decade, there has been a dramatic increase in martial arts participation driven by health and physical fitness benefits and the expansion of martial arts into Olympic sports. Additionally, the broad popularity of mixed martial arts (MMA), particularly, the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) has also fueled interest. Martial Arts is a broad-based term describing various disciplines and techniques implemented in self-defense, fighting and utilization of weaponry. Is there a coming intersection of the martial arts category and sports nutrition? The answer to this question depends upon first dissecting the components of training and competition in the martial arts arena and then comparing them to activities requiring the same components. The application of sports nutrition in those related areas should provide clues for this pathway and potential in training and performance relevance.

Grassroots as an Artistic Category of Ukrainian Culture of the XVII–XIХ Centuries

The purpose of the article is the classification of Ukrainian musical culture, which, unlike other artistic genres, has not received clear musical definitions for a long period of time. This is connected with socio-cultural and historical circumstances, when music was primarily perceived as a part of liturgical rites, everyday life, and other circumstances, and in this context was interpreted as part of something bigger, a whole. Therefore, the assessment of musical art as a single category needs clarifications and definitions. The research methodology is based on historical, cultural, and artistic levels. The scientific novelty consists in the introduction of the term Grassroots into scientific circulation to describe and define the quality of musical productions. Conclusions. For a more appropriate definition and characterisation of the musical creativity of the 17th-19th centuries, the term Grassroots, in our opinion, is the most successful and appropriate. It clearly demonstrates the development of national musical art as "grassroots", at the same time taking it out of the realm of primitiveness and dilettantism, which metropolitan cultures have tried to impose on us over the centuries. At the same time, the aesthetic tension is relieved when characterising works through the prism of kitsch means and tools, as well as its definition as "low" or "grassroots", since the adaptation of the achievements of European art on national material required a certain time for formation and development. Therefore, Grassroots art is the most appropriate term to describe and classify the rich heritage of Ukrainian musical art. Key words: "high" art, "low" art, grassroots art, kitsch, musical culture
