The article highlights the results of the modification and adaptation of the GET2 test proposed by S. Caird and C. Johnson for the Ukrainian school pupils. The correlation between categories “entrepreneur”, “entrepreneurship”, “enterprise” is analyzed. The main indicators of an enterprising person’s culture are shown: the ability to accurately assess the current economic situation, to see its prospects and to generate new ideas, to be determined and purposeful on this way, to have an active and independent position in relations with other business agents. The development of these personal traits at young Ukrainians becomes especially valuable for chronically reformed Ukrainian society. The main study tasks were 1) to edit the text of the GET2 test according to the peculiarities of Ukrainian-language terminology and according to the respondents’ age, 2) to reduce the number of questions in each scale and 3) to check the reliability of the modified test, as well as 4) to standardize the received data. In accordance with the first task, the test text was translated into Ukrainian by expert linguists and psychologists knowing English very well. Through repeated reverse translation into English, as well as using the multi-criteria assessment method, we have developed an interim list of statements, which consisted of 30 items. At the next stage, we conducted a pilot survey using a modified version of the GET2 test. The survey involved 242 pupils of 10 to 17 years old (75 primary schoolchildren, 63 younger adolescents, 60 older adolescents and 44 high school students of upper forms). Factorization of the empirical data with the varimax rotation by the principal component method allowed us to identify the 5 most powerful factors (71% of the total variance) that substantively correspond to the original test. Thus, it is shown that the modified version of GET2 test has a five-factor structure, which is consistently reproduced in the sample of school pupils. The scales of the modified GET2 test have high internal consistency, confirmed by high values of the reliability coefficient of α-Kronbach consistency both for each scale (from 0.85 to 0.97) and for the test as a whole (0.98). Thus, the article shows that the modified version of the General Measure of Enterprising Tendency test adapted for the Ukrainian-language sample of school pupils can be used to study the personality’ components of an entrepreneurship for people of the age 10 to 17 years.
