The article discusses the possibilities of using natural, historical, cultural, infrastructural and labor resources for the development of tourism in the territories created in Bashkortostan, geoparks. In 2020, the Bashkir geopark "Yangan-tau" was the first in Russia to join the UNESCO Global Network of Geoparks. In December 2018, the second geopark, Toratau, was created in Bashkortostan. To date, Toratau is a geopark of republican significance, but aspires to international status. There are no restrictions on economic and recreational activities on the territory of geoparks, which provides opportunities for business development, but key geological and other natural and cultural objects are subject to strict protection. The leadership of the republic is aware that at the first stage geoparks need state support and plans to create 55 capital construction projects on the territory of geoparks for a total of more than 1.7 billion rubles by 2025. Of these, 39 will be built by attracting private investment. The appearance of geoparks means an increase in entrepreneurial activity in this area, a significant increase in tourist traffic.
