Construction Practice of Centralized Maintenance Mode for Asphalt Pavement of Expressway

At present, one of the most prominent problems in Jiangsu Expressway Maintenance Project is the contradiction between maintenance operation and traffic. Based on the centralized maintenance project of Guangjing Xicheng Expressway in Jiangsu Province, this paper analyzes and summarizes the centralized maintenance mode from two aspects: the preparation points and the control in the construction process. The practice of this project shows that the centralized maintenance project needs to focus on the characteristics of multi-dimensional concentration of time, space and material, make targeted preparation from the aspects of organization, human, machine, material, technology and emergency plan, and ensure multi-directional control through summary and improvement, multi-party coordination, dynamic control, construction standardization and a series of measures in the implementation process. Compared with the traditional maintenance mode, the centralized maintenance mode makes the maintenance project better in quality, faster in progress, more controllable in safety and better in benefit. The research results provide important practical experience for similar projects.

Effect of a Comprehensive Loop System on Whole body Exercises Using Elastic Bands

Background:- Strength is the capability of the neuromuscular system to produce force against an externalresistance.1 Muscular performance is regarded as one the significant component in quality of life. Strengthtraining helps to increase the muscular tension which eventually increases the muscular performance.2 Therepeated and consistent resistance training strengthens the muscles.3 Most of the studies shows the effectof elastic resistance training with short term interventions on muscle strength(isotonic elastic resistancetraining) and have shown positive outcomes4. This is the first study investigating on increase in the strengthof concentric, eccentric , as well as isometric muscle contraction and also, as a whole body exerciser withtargeted muscle and group muscle training. In this study we lack the knowledge on how elastic resistancetraining affects the muscle strength in upper and lower body. Therefore, it is important to know if thiscomprehensive loop system, as a special training variable, could improve the strength in adult healthyindividuals. This study will help to determine the effect of comprehensive loop system on whole bodyexerciser using elastic bands, and assess if four weeks of training are sufficient to change upper and lowerlimb strength.Methodology:- Total 30 subjects were included in the study. All the subjects are healthy individualswere included from orthopedic departments, physiotherapy OPD, physiotherapy clinics, sports academy.Demonstration of the test with help of video and test trial was given in order to gain confidence and breaktheir fear. Latin square design chit was made and participants were asked to randomly pick up the chits.Subjects has to follow the same order of the test from in order to avoid learning bias. They were assessed forpush-up test and squat test for strength before and after the training. And a four weeks training protocol wastaken to assess the upper and lower limb strength respectively.Result:- There is a positive increase in the strength of the muscle which was checked using the push-up andsquat test for upper limb and lower limb respectively. With increase in the counts of push-up test (o.ooo)pre and post training session and with the squat training (p>0.05) pre and post training session, there is asubsequent positive increase in the strength gain of an healthy individual.Conclusion:- There is significant change in the muscle strength after four week of elastic training protocolof healthy adult individuals. Therefore, the tool kit is helpful as a whole body exerciser as well as a specifictargeted muscle exerciser to increase a individual muscle strength and to improve the way of exercisingwithout any hindrance in the aspects of space and heavy machine

A novel methodology of Combined Compromise Solution and Principal Component Analysis (CoCoSo-PCA) for machinability investigation of graphene nanocomposites

The interest in the application of Graphene oxide/polymer nanocomposites is recently rising in various industries such as drug delivery, bioimaging, aircraft structures, sensors, battery application, etc., due to the improved features of Graphene oxide. The machining behavior of polymers is remarkably different from metallic alloys due to anisotropic and high synergistic effects. This article investigates the machinability aspect and machining response optimization of the developed hybrid nanocomposites. The drilling responses, namely, average surface roughness (Ra), Mean roughness depth (Rz), and Circularity error (Ce), were optimized by using the integrated approach of Combined Compromise Solution and Principal Component Analysis (CoCoSo-PCA). Response Surface Methodology (RSM) array is utilized to execute the drilling tests. The optimal setting is obtained as drill speed 2400rpm, feed 80mm/min, 1 weight% of Graphene oxide (G%). The feed rate shows a primary role in controlling both the surface roughness indices and Circularity error. The high feed value affects the development of the drilling-induced defect and cracks. The SEM analysis of the machined samples was performed to check the machined hole quality and surface finishing. ANOVA estimates the model adequacy of the proposed hybrid model. The obtained results have been validated by a confirmatory test, which proves the proposed hybrid module practicality in the manufacturing environment. Besides, the proposed approach is compared with the recently developed optimization modules to evaluate the application potential.

Multiple Machining Performance Optimization in Drilling of MWCNT/Epoxy Nanocomposites Using TOPSIS and Grey Theory

The use of multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) reinforced polymer nanocomposites have significant importance since MWCNT enhances the aspect ratio and interface conditions of polymer materials. However, the machining aspects of carbon nanofillers are still a potential area of research. The mechanical and electrical properties of MWCNT/epoxy nanocomposites makes it a suitable alternative to conventional engineering materials. This work focused the machining characteristics optimization during drilling of MWCNT/epoxy nanocomposites using TOPSIS and GRA theory. The machining characteristics are considered which are surface roughness, torques and thrust. By using both the multi-criteria optimization techniques, all the machining characteristics aggregated into the single objective function. The effects of drilling parameters have been investigated by variance analysis. The outcomes of both the proposed module give different optimal conditions of process parameters. The confirmatory experiment carried out to validate the obtained results, and it has been observed that GRA is more feasible than TOPSIS. During machining, the cutting force rises with the high feed rate, and the lower value of feed rate reduces the surface roughness. The achieved improvements in drilling performances are highly required for an efficient machining environment. Further, a microstructural investigation was done to check the quality of the machined samples.

The paper discusses a unique technique developed initially at Nation Institute of Technology, Surat that is remodeled in real-world applications. The concept consists primarily of a user-friendly software facilitating direct communication with any intelligent or learning system/robot operating under known parameters of motor specifications. Any software base permitting high level PC interface without ASCII interrupt can be used for easy programming. This allows for a learning operation mode where a prevention of time lag is enabled by stored machine data, captured through movements such movements can be physically made or taught via programs to the device and such learning aspects make the machine more efficient where the robot can either perform individual actions as needed or learn new methods for the same results and can perform a series of actions continuously. Using the stored data, the machine is also capable of autonomous movements based on the path of least resistance as calculated by the time it takes to perform an act.Interfacing Technique Tool Machining Robot (ITTMR) was developed as robotic tool holder that can determine the shape and size of different OCTG pipes utilized in the downhole industry and enable it to machine appropriate threads on the pipe with no manual intervention.The process thereby completely negates any possibility of human error which can otherwise cause heavy loss on finished equipment that are rendered unusable because of threading errors on almost nearly finished complex milled parts or assemblies that are pending threads as the final operation. The purpose of the software codes is to provide a user-friendly GUI that can communicate with any machine by pulling in appropriate ACNC programs and performing the required tasks associated with the operating system and specifications of the motors/mobilization equipment’s used. For the purpose of this paper, the software code is not provided.Any firmware base that permits the usage of an ASCII interrupt can be used and for the purpose of this operation, an RS323 equivalent board will also suffice for basic operations, however a complex ITTMR system has been utilized. This paper solely addresses the technique of how the threading operation is performed and does not address the process of how the pipe is bought to the machine or other associated aspects of the software to retain any possible patent applications on the same.

Living Things Are Not (20th Century) Machines: Updating Mechanism Metaphors in Light of the Modern Science of Machine Behavior

One of the most useful metaphors for driving scientific and engineering progress has been that of the “machine.” Much controversy exists about the applicability of this concept in the life sciences. Advances in molecular biology have revealed numerous design principles that can be harnessed to understand cells from an engineering perspective, and build novel devices to rationally exploit the laws of chemistry, physics, and computation. At the same time, organicists point to the many unique features of life, especially at larger scales of organization, which have resisted decomposition analysis and artificial implementation. Here, we argue that much of this debate has focused on inessential aspects of machines – classical properties which have been surpassed by advances in modern Machine Behavior and no longer apply. This emerging multidisciplinary field, at the interface of artificial life, machine learning, and synthetic bioengineering, is highlighting the inadequacy of existing definitions. Key terms such as machine, robot, program, software, evolved, designed, etc., need to be revised in light of technological and theoretical advances that have moved past the dated philosophical conceptions that have limited our understanding of both evolved and designed systems. Moving beyond contingent aspects of historical and current machines will enable conceptual tools that embrace inevitable advances in synthetic and hybrid bioengineering and computer science, toward a framework that identifies essential distinctions between fundamental concepts of devices and living agents. Progress in both theory and practical applications requires the establishment of a novel conception of “machines as they could be,” based on the profound lessons of biology at all scales. We sketch a perspective that acknowledges the remarkable, unique aspects of life to help re-define key terms, and identify deep, essential features of concepts for a future in which sharp boundaries between evolved and designed systems will not exist.

Eco-green machining of superalloy A286: Assessment of tool wear morphology and surface topology

Unstable crude oil derivatives are among the main substances added to the mineral-based lubricants (MBL). However, the high purification and disposal costs of such lubricants and consequent environmental difficulties are the major drawbacks of cutting fluid consumption. The lower use of MBL or replacing them with less harmful ones, in principle, vegetable-based lubricants (VBL) are the prime importance of achieving less operating costs and pollution. Furthermore, the use of VBLs is much more recommended if machinability aspects, including tool life, surface, and edge quality, would also be improved. Therefore, in the present study, cutting parameters and lubricant types were used as the experimental variables in the MQL-turning of A286 superalloy. A286 is classified as a difficult-to-cut material with a wide range of applications in the energy and turbine industries. No experimental study was found on the machining of A286 under separate cooling and lubrication with two MQL systems simultaneously. The effects of cutting parameters on both average surface roughness Ra and tool wear morphology were evaluated. Experimental results denoted that the use of VBLs led to better surface topology. On the other hand, the tendency of the built-up layer (BUL) and built-up edge (BUE) phenomenon were intensified when MBL was used. On the word, better tool life is also expected when using VBL. This observation revealed that the use of VBL not only tends to improve productivity and environmental safety aspects but also machinability aspects; in principle, better surface topology and longer tool life are also expected.

How Do People With Intellectual Disability Engage With and Understand Gambling? A Qualitative Study of Adults in Victoria, Australia.

Objective: This study aimed to understand the factors that may influence how and why people with intellectual disability may engage in gambling.Method: Nineteen people with intellectual disability were recruited from a disability advocacy organization and participated in face to face, semi-structured qualitative interviews. Open ended questions were used to explore participants' gambling participation, recall of, and attitudes toward, different gambling products, understanding of gambling harm, and awareness of responsible gambling messages.Results: All participants could remember gambling in their lifetime and some participants had recently engaged in gambling. Many participants were aware of different gambling products, and a few participants could describe in detail the technical aspects of electronic gambling machines. Most participants did not specifically recall seeing gambling harm minimization messages, however some described engaging in individual responsibility measures, such as limits and control, as they perceived this reduced the risks of experiencing harm.Conclusions: People with intellectual disability are engaging with gambling products in a similar way to the general community. Therefore, it is important to understand the different pathways that may lead people with intellectual disability to initiate and continue gambling and to ensure that they are aware of and protected from the potential risk.Implications for Public Health: Policy makers and practitioners should seek to understand and implement a range of strategies to reduce and prevent the harms associated with particular gambling products and environments for this population sub-group.

Machinability aspects in dry turning of Ti6Al4V alloy with HiPIMS coated carbide inserts

Owing to their unique mechanical properties, titanium alloys have been and will be used extensively in a myriad of industries ranging from aerospace to automotive to medical field. Hence, a continuous improvement in the performance of the coated inserts with hard materials capable of enhanced tribological and wear resistive properties is necessary. The present work contributes to investigation of the influence of cutting parameters in turning operations of the alpha-beta titanium alloy- Ti-6Al-4V. Tungsten carbide inserts of K20 grade is coated with TiAlN and AlCrN monolayer coatings by high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HPPMS). Machinability of Ti6Al4V alloy is studied at different cutting speed, feed ranging from 60 to 120 m/min and 0.1 to 0.25 mm/rev with constant depth of cut of 0.5 mm to evaluate the optimum turning parameters under dry environment. The tool wear is observed initially under an optical microscope and nature of wear is observed with scanning electron microscope (SEM). It is witnessed that the AlCrN coated inserts have an upper edge over the TiAlN coated inserts due to better adhesion and thermal stability of the coating. Tool wear and surface finish is found to be optimum at cutting speed of 100 m/min, feed of 0.1mm/rev and depth of cut 0.5 mm. The present will provide useful and economic machining solutions for the high speed machining of titanium alloys by effective utilization of coated tungsten carbide inserts.

Study on comprehensive index system of production safety accident in chemical enterprise

This paper classified, extracted and characterized the causes of accidents based on accident statistics of chemical enterprises in Jiangsu Province from 2015 to 2019. The internal relationship between the accident result and various causes is analyzed from the aspects of human, machine, material, method, ring and pipe; and using the analytic hierarchy process to establish the comprehensive evaluation index system of the accident, which was applied to predict the accident probability of chemical enterprise. The probability of production safety accident in a chemical enterprise is predicted by using this method, and the probability of the accident is at level of "more likely to happen". The example showed that the analytic hierarchy process has strong operability and good effect, and can be used to predict the accident risk of chemical enterprises. causes and can realize the accident probability prediction of chemical enterprises.

Machinability of SUPERNI-800 during PMEDM using the Taguchi method

Abstract EDM is the most popular machining method used in industry to machine hard metals and alloys and many researchers try to explore the applications of EDM process. They are trying to optimize the machining characteristics of difficult to machine materials from the literature reviewed, it is observed that considerable research work has been done on various aspects of electrical discharge machining and abrasive EDM of Inconel 718 and Titanium-based alloy. But less literature is available in the study EDM of Superni-800 is a versatile alloy that is widely used for nuclear industries, petrochemical industries, furnace equipment, etc. There is a need to investigate the machining of this material with different powders by varying different machining parameters such. In the current test study, blind holes were machined using BM-processed copper-titanium electrodes and a conventional copper electrode during the discharge of the Superni-800. The test design and variation analysis were implemented to understand the effects, contribution, importance, and optimal mechanical configuration, i.e. polarity, peak current, of the process investigation., Separation voltage in electrode type, pulse time, and material removal rate (MRR) and wear rate (WR). Significant parameters affecting the decisiveness of the machine were explored and the optimal size of the combination of machine parameters for MRR and WR was determined. A K-D powder metal has been found to give higher MRR and WR with a processed electrode, resulting in better mechanical performance than the Superni-800. The results were verified by a confirmatory test.

Sustainable machining: Modelling and optimization using Taguchi, MOORA and DEAR methods

Sustainable machining of metallic parts offers significant economic, environmental and societal benefits to metal cutting industries. Although dry machining technology bring sustainability in machining industries but requires significant attention to get high productivity without affecting the geometrical accuracy and surface finish. The present work proposed a unified framework to model and optimize the process, when applied to sustainability. A CNC machine is used to turn the mild steel parts with the help of carbide inserts (TNMG 160408CQ). Taguchi L27 orthogonal array is used to model the turning process and analyze the factors (cutting speed, depth of cut and feed rate) on material removal rate, MRR, surface roughness, SR and circularity error, CE. Further, attempts are made to optimize the sustainability index taken into account of economic (higher MRR), social (desired lower SR and CE) and environmental (dry machining) aspects. To attain the said goal two popular optimization models (data envelopment analysis ranking, DEAR and multi-objective optimization on the basis of ratio analysis, MOORA) are considered. The said models are compared among themselves and proposed a single optimal condition for the turning process.

Parametric optimization to improve the machining process by using Taguchi method: A review

In the new era of manufacturing science, day by day, evaluation of machining processes has occurred. To achieve a high level of surface finish is a very crucial part of all machining processes. This paper illustrates a literature review on Parametric Optimization of numerous Machining Processes such as drilling, reaming, milling, turning, etc. by using Taguchi method, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and others. An extensive literature survey on databases of Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, Springer, IOPscience, Emerald, etc., was used to investigate the importance of parametric optimization in machining processes. We found various researchers' work on different parameters such as cutting speed, feed, and depth of cut with different types of materials to improve machining processes, significantly to improve surface finish or reduce surface roughness. In view of the survey, it is to be inferred that to improve the machining processes or aspects of the surface finish, and it is essential to develop a cost-effective method. This paper represents a review of various approaches to improve the machining processes, which will help the researchers/industrialists to find out the new way of machining.

Optimal Seeking Surface Roughness and Material Removal Rate Responses of Hardened AISI 4340 High Strength Low AlloySteel in Dry Sustainable Environment

The aim of this research is to study the machinability aspects of hardened AISI 4340 High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) steel (50 ± 2 HRC (Hardness Rockwell C)). The experimental investigation using coated carbide inserts is carried out during the dry hard milling process in a sustainable environment. The input parameters in the study are speed, feed rate and depth of cut and the responses are Average surface Roughness (Ra) and Material Removal Rate (MRR) that are selected through screening. Central Composite Design (CCD) in response surface methodology has been utilized as the experimental design technique with twenty experiments. Analysis of variance has been employed to examine the momentous machining parameters and responses. A mathematical model has been developed to optimize the surface roughness and material removal rate. It has been observed that the most significant factor for Ra is feed rate while for MRR depth of cut is the most significant factor. The results show that the minimum value of Ra ~ 0.098 μm is achieved at speed ~ 1000 RPM, feed rate ~ 300 mm/min and depth of cut ~ 0.2 mm while the maximum value of MRR ~ 6.35 cm3/min is attained at feed rate ~ 500mm/min and depth of cut ~ 0.4 mm regarding less or no effect of speed ~ 500-1000 RPM. The average forecast error for the validation information has been observed to be 3.35%. for Ra and 3.2% for MRR. Further, it is investigated that good surface finish like grinding and dimensional accuracy can be achieved with coated carbide tools.

Analisis Kerahasiaan Rekam Medis Berdasarkan Hak Akses Ruang Filing Rawat Jalan di RSUD Dr.Saiful Anwar Malang

Confidentiality of medical records at RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang still had several obstacles in implementation, where there were non-medical record officers who enter and exit the outpatient filing room although there was finger prints and written warnings stating that "other than medical record officers are prohibited from entering" in the outpatient filing section. The purpose of this report is to analyze the confidentiality of medical records based on the right of access to outpatient filing rooms at RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. This report used qualitative methods, and the analysis method used is 5M management aspects (man, money, material, method, and machine) to identify the problems and look for priority causes use USG (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) techniques. The results of this report indicate that the management aspects of man, method, material, and machine are the factors causing the lack of secrecy of the medical record based on the right of access to outpatient filing rooms at RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. The priority cause of the problem in this report is the ignorance of officers in relation to the existing SOP / Medical Record Services Book. The priority results of the cause of the problem produce a solution, it are necessary to conduct socialization about SOP for storing medical records and Medical Record Services Book relating to the secrecy of medical records to all medical records officers, especially filing officers before being placed in their work units and evaluating every three months by monitoring the implementation of SOP /Medical Record Services Book by an outpatient filing coordinator.

Study of machinability aspects of shape memory alloys: A critical review

Abstract Memory metals or memory alloys or smart metals are those alloys which get deformed when cold and returns to their preformed shape when subjected to heating. Their exquisite properties make these alloys an ideal material for several engineering applications. The recent developments in these materials have attracted the interest of the scientific community. In this context, an attempt has been made to provide an overview of the shape memory alloys (SMAs) along with their deformation mechanism. The study further explores the classifications and advantages of different shape memory alloys. Various machining processes adopted for machining shape memory alloys as well as the making of these alloys have been also articulated in this review. Besides all these, a light has been also thrown on the significant characteristics of these materials in addition to their applications in automobile, aerospace, robotic, and biomedical fields.

Model-informed machine learning for multi-component T2 relaxometry.

Recovering the T2 distribution from multi-echo T2 magnetic resonance (MR) signals is challenging but has high potential as it provides biomarkers characterizing the tissue micro-structure, such as the myelin water fraction (MWF). In this work, we propose to combine machine learning and aspects of parametric (fitting from the MRI signal using biophysical models) and non-parametric (model-free fitting of the T2 distribution from the signal) approaches to T2 relaxometry in brain tissue by using a multi-layer perceptron (MLP) for the distribution reconstruction. For training our network, we construct an extensive synthetic dataset derived from biophysical models in order to constrain the outputs with a priori knowledge of in vivo distributions. The proposed approach, called Model-Informed Machine Learning (MIML), takes as input the MR signal and directly outputs the associated T2 distribution. We evaluate MIML in comparison to a Gaussian Mixture Fitting (parametric) and Regularized Non-Negative Least Squares algorithms (non-parametric) on synthetic data, an ex vivo scan, and high-resolution scans of healthy subjects and a subject with Multiple Sclerosis. In synthetic data, MIML provides more accurate and noise-robust distributions. In real data, MWF maps derived from MIML exhibit the greatest conformity to anatomical scans, have the highest correlation to a histological map of myelin volume, and the best unambiguous lesion visualization and localization, with superior contrast between lesions and normal appearing tissue. In whole-brain analysis, MIML is 22 to 4980 times faster than the non-parametric and parametric methods, respectively.

Particle Swarm Optimization and Machinability Aspects during Turning of Hardened D3 Steel

Metal cutting processes are associated with excessive forces, friction and heat generation due to continuous intensive contact between the active cutting tools and the work which degrades the machined surface quality. The hardened tool steel having excellent wear resistance property receives an extensive promotion, investigation and application in the die manufacturing industries. In this research, the machinability of hardened AISI D3 tool steel has been investigated using TiN-coated Al2[Formula: see text](C,N) ceramic tool inserts as per Taguchi’s [Formula: see text] orthogonal design of experiments is in horizontal turning under the dry condition. The experimental dataset was used for the regression model development of primary process outputs as well as mean cutting force using the response surface methodology (RSM) which was found to be significant. The parametric interaction effects on each process output were studied along with with chip morphology in detail. The cutting force as well as material removal rate was found to be significantly influenced by depth of cut, whereas machined surface quality was primarily dependent on tool feed rate. The wider with less prominent saw tooth chips got changed to narrower saw-tooth form with intensive shear bands at higher feed rates. Finally, an attempt has been made to develop an optimal parametric setting using particle swarm optimization technique to achieve minimum surface roughness and maximum material removal rate at less cutting force. The optimal parametric setting was high cutting speed (308[Formula: see text]m/min), high tool feed rate (0.08[Formula: see text]mm/rev) with medium depth of cut (0.6[Formula: see text]mm) to achieve each objective. This evolutionary particle swarm optimization technique was found to be highly accurate (within 8% error) as per validation experiment.

This study deals with an effort to assess the performance of Cermet cutting tool as an alternative cutting tool for turning hardened steel. Some machinability aspects, including tool wear, cutting time, surface finish, and optimum cutting condition were assessed. The experiment was carried out by adopting Taguchi method (L8) and Taguchi signal-noise (S/N) ratios was utilised to determine the optimum cutting condition. Flank wear was observed as the main tool failure mode. Related to flank wear, the Cermet cutting tool used in this study had potential cutting time when assigned for hard turning. Surface finish measured under Ra parameter for all tested cutting conditions was at the quality of finish turning. The statistical analysis supported the engineering perspective to define surface finish as the main response variable to be used for the evaluation of optimum cutting condition. The result of Taguchi S/N analysis on the optimum cutting condition showed a good agreement with the experiment.
