Chronic liver diseases present a serious problem of modern medicine. Quite often, patients with liver diseases suffer from a violation of the normal nutritional state. such as malnutrition against the background of deficiency or increased body weight, which can develop latently in the early stages of the liver pathology and lead to protein-energy malnutrition, the development of sarcopenia and its complications. Aim. Evaluation of the nutritional status of patients with chronic diffuse liver diseases using anthropometric and biochemical parameters. Materials and methods. There were examined 282 patients, men n=138(49%), women n=144(51%) with liver pathology, whom were divided into groups: 1 gr - with chronic hepatitis n=75 (27. 4%), 2 gr - with chronic fatty non-alcoholic liver disease n=96 (34. 2%), and 3 gr - with liver cirrhosis of various etiology n=111 (39. 4%). The average age is 54. 23. Anthropometric studies were carried out (chest circumference, waist circumference, circumference of the middle part of the shoulder, thigh circumference), body mass index was calculated. In all patients, we studied the indicators of protein metabolism - total protein and albumin levels in blood serum. Results. The study revealed the presenceof abdominal fat in all patients, characteristic of obesity sarcopenia and a decrease in protein metabolism: total protein and albumin in patients with liver cirrhosis. Conclusions. All patients have an android type of adipose tissue distribution and are at high risk of developing comorbid cardiovascular and endocrine dysfunction.
