This study examined librarians‟ emotional intelligence and job satisfaction among librarians in academic libraries in Delta State, Nigeria. Descriptive survey design of the correlational type was used in this research. The population of the study was 165 librarians working in 19 federal, state and private academic libraries in Delta State, Nigeria. The total population was used, because the population was small. Questionnaire was used to elicit data from respondents. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer research questions 1 to 2, while Pearson‟s Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient, was used to answer research questions 3. The findings revealed that the extent of emotional intelligence as well as job satisfaction among the librarians in academic libraries in Delta State, Nigeria is high; that there is a positive moderate relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction among them; that, there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence [(r = .548, P = 0.000); p<0.05)] and job satisfaction among the librarians. It was concluded that the extent of emotional intelligence and job satisfaction among the librarians is to a high extent and there is significant relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction among librarians in academic libraries in Delta State, Nigeria. Based on the findings, it was recommended that management of academic institutions and libraries, librarians and other stake holders involved in academic library activities in Delta State should work towards the sustainability of the positive disposition which librarians have towards emotional intelligence to enhance their job satisfaction.
