Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of digital sociology in higher education. By using the word cloud, generation Z's digital sociological perspective is analyzed, which is called digital native, for freshmen in 2022. To this end, the results of Korean students who took general education classes at C-University were analyzed. Based on the three research questions, (1) Gen Z showed a receptive attitude to text-mining techniques. (2) Gen Z experienced differences in data processing from the perspective of digital sociology according to the degree of humanities background knowledge. (3) It was possible to capture the common perception of “employment” of Gen Z.
