Integrating the Nurse practitioner role into the rural setting has been one of the key tasks of the Nurse Practitioner (NP) movement with leaders across the nation forging their roles within healthcare settings. Cementing the NP role into the rural health care system can be difficult and exhausting yet when done right can be rewarding and empowering.
