Abstract

June 14—This very moderate disturbance, of short duration, began with a small sudden commencement in all three elements at 00h 07m GMT, June 14, when westerly declination increased 1′.7, horizontal intensity decreased 11 gammas, and the numerical value of vertical intensity increased 9 gammas. During the following seven hours the elements were only slightly disturbed, but at 07h 15m there was a second sudden commencement of greater amplitude, when westerly declination increased by 2′.2, horizontal intensity decreased 36 gammas, and the numerical value of vertical intensity increased 20 gammas. For four hours there‐after the movements were moderately large, the maximum activity occurring between 09h and 12h. After this time conditions became more quiet and the elements had regained their normal values by 16h.
