Abstract

(Latitude 64° 51′.9 N., longitude 147° 49′.3 or 9h 51m.3 W. of Gr.)August 7–10—A moderate magnetic storm began sharply at 23h 00m GMT, August 7. The storm was characterized by short‐period, small‐amplitude oscillations superimposed upon large bays. The most severe part of the storm occurred between 16h and 19h, August 10, and consisted of large‐amplitude, short‐period oscillations. After 19h, August 10, the storm gradually died out; disturbed conditions, however, continued for about two days.
