Abstract

This study aims to increase historical learning participation of students of class X IPS 1 of SMAN 6 Padang through the application of Course Review Horay learning model for Academic Year 2018/2019. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) carried out in two cycles. Subjects in this study were students of class X IPS 1, SMAN 6 Padang Academic Year 2018/2019 with a total of 34 students. Data collection is done by observing student participation and documentation, while the instruments used in the study are guidelines for observing student learning participation. Data analysis carried out was quantitative descriptive data analysis that showed the assessment or emergence of student participation in learning history. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of the Course Review Horay learning model can increase the participation of history learning students at SMAN 6 Padang. this proves or is supported by research data that have an increase in aspects of learning participation, namely participation in historical learning activities, participation in questions, participation answering, participation in choosing random questions, discussion participation, participation in recording teacher explanations, and participation concluding the subject matter at the end lesson. Based on the data obtained there was an increase in student participation in historical learning, where at the beginning of the observation 39.76% in the first cycle increased to 67.49% and there was an increase in the second cycle 82.42% which could be categorized in either category.
