Abstract

This work has as its main objective to discuss the interface between crime and the State in the light of the documentary produced Doctor Castor. To this end, the documentary is taken as a case study, capable of revealing the social, economic and symbolic dimensions surrounding crime. In this framework, crime and the State are seen as spheres, not opposites, but rather, they transact, dialogue and cooperate. In this interpretative key, the article understands the idea of political merchandise as the element capable of operating the relationship between illegal / illegal.
