Abstract
Ant heap tuber from Central Kalimantan has a long history of being used as a traditional medicine, often prepared as tea or boiled. People believe it can slow down cancer cell growth and have antioxidants to protect against diseases and harmful free radicals. By standardizing these non-specific parameters, we can better identify and set standards for the raw materials used in traditional medicine development in Central Kalimantan. This study aims to understand the basic characteristics of Sarang Semut tuber simplisia through non-specific tests. This is an experimental study conducted in a laboratory. We measured several non-specific parameters, including foreign matter, water-soluble, alcohol-soluble, total ash, and moisture content. The results showed that the Sarang Semut tuber simplisia contained 0.20% ± 0.001 foreign matter, 1.49% ± 0.006 water-soluble content, 1.25% ± 0.001 alcohol-soluble content, 5.67% ± 0.024 total ash, and 5.84% ± 0.007 moisture content.
