Abstract

The process of children’s vocabulary acquisition is a complex phenomenon that requires appropriate support from the teacher. The article presents the impact of the Total Physical Response method on this process, describing its assumptions and benefits, and presenting a scenario of classes with its application. The TPR method, developed by James Asher, introduces learning through physical activity and promoting better vocabulary acquisition. The use of this method in English classes allows the integration of movement with language learning, contributing to the effective learning of children through play and interaction. The lesson scenario includes a variety of activities, which allow students to actively participate in the learning process.
