Abstract

Most of houses/industries usually have their own over-head water tanks (OHT) associated with, either well/tube-well or underground water tanks (UGT). OHT is filled up by pumping set driven by an induction motor (IM). Many process-industries require large consumption of water, hence maintenance of water head is of prime importance to these industries. Here, a scheme is presented with a view to maintain the water level in OHT between two settable points. This scheme envisages automatic maintaining the water level in OHT without requiring human attendance. Further, this avoids overflow of water from OHT as well as avoids unnecessary running of IM, in the case, water in UGT is below low-level probe.
