Abstract
Objective: To investigate the immunologic function in infants with critical and severe hand-foot-mouth disease (HFMD).Methods: The study is about infants with critical and severe HFMD. There are 154 infants with critical HFMD, 96 infants with severe HFMD and 96 healthy infants enrolled in this study. We detect the serum immunoglobulin and complements with nephelometry, and then detect peripheral blood T, B cell subsets and NK cell with flow cytometry. Results: The NK cell, IgA and IgE are no significant difference in all. Compared with the healthy group, The levers of B lymphocyte,IgG,IgM,C3,C4 are increased, and the levers of the total T lymphocyte, CD4+ lymphocyte and CD4+;/CD8+ are decreased in infants with critical and severe HFMD (P< 0.05). The lever of CD8+ lymphocyte is increased in infants with severe HFMD (P< 0.05), but it is no significant difference in infants with critical HFMD.Conclusion: The NK cell is normal. The humoral immunity, the cellular immunity and the levers of C3, C4 are abnormal in infants with critical and severe HFMD.
