Abstract

Music literacy contributes to the cultivation of the comprehensive quality of the students in higher vocational colleges and realizes the overall development of students. As a great treasure house in music, classical music not only has high value for students' music education, but also has important significance for the cultivation of students' music literacy. Through questionnaire survey method, document retrieval method and individual interview method, we analyze the situation of Chinese vocational college students' understanding of classical music, and find that classical music plays an important role in the cultivation of music literacy of vocational college students. However, at this stage, higher vocational colleges have problems such as insufficient attention from schools, lack of relevant teachers, classical music is too profound for students, and students lack the awareness and aesthetics of classical music learning. This article puts forward the school's emphasis on classical emphasis and training measures, strengthening teachers and enriching teaching methods, and improving students’ learning awareness and aesthetic level. Through research from schools, teachers, and students, it is found that schools need to pay attention to campus culture. The combination of construction, curriculum formulation, teacher training, students' learning awareness and interest, etc., helps students in vocational colleges learn classical music, enhance their music literacy, and provide references for classical music learning research in vocational colleges.
