Abstract

Objective To discuss the effects of breast-conserving therapy with early primary breast car-cinoma. Methods 67 patients with early primary breast carcinoma were operated with wide local excision and axillary lymph node dissection. The radiotherapy and chemotherapy after breast conservative surgery were done on the whole breast. Results After a median followed-up of 26 months(range 3 ~ 55 months), the approval rate for their breast was 88%. There were one case death and one patient suffered from ipsilateral breast tumor relapse.The three years local relapse rate was 2. 5%. Conclusion The early results of breast-conserving therapy are satisfactory for early stage primary breast cancer. The long-term follow-up is needed for the final outcome.
